- Episode 5
- Counterparts, part II
Drew charges forward into the trio of copies, flames trailing behind him. He slashes through the silver and white, but he gets kicked down by the red copy. The copy flicked his wrist, making a sword almost identical to Drew’s appear in his hand.
“I can do anything you can do,” the copy said, as he engulfed his self in fire, “but better!”
“We’ll see about that!” Drew replied
Drew and the red copy charged at each other, each with fire scattering behind them. Each of them struck forward with their swords, and as they clashed, their fire aura became one, creating a huge explosion and burst of flames.
“That’s crazy!” Katelyn exclaimed
“Yeah,” Drew began, grunting, “well, stop adoring and fight your copies!”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this serious.” Kirk stated
“Me neither.” Katelyn replied
Kirk ducks under a kick form his counterpart, then slashes him across the chest. The copy jumps back a couple steps, then runs forward at Kirk and spin kicks him across the jaw, sending him spinning to the ground. Kirk slowly gets back up to his feet.
“Okay,” Kirk says to himself, “I know he can do anything I can do. But if that’s the case…why hasn’t he used lighting speed, then? Wait a minute…” Kirk glances over at Drew and the red counterpart, “that’s it! The counterparts can’t use our special technique or weapons until they see them for theirselves. That gives me only one chance to use the lighting speed technique…”
“Thunder Lance!” the silver counterpart yells as silver lighting strikes down from the sky into his hand, making a lance identical to Kirk’s appear in his hand.
“I was right.” Kirk says, charging forward at his copy and striking him with the staff part of his lance, but it is blocked. The counterpart attempts to slash him across the chest, but he back flips, kicking the lance up into the air. The counterpart takes a quick glance at Kirk before he jumps into the air to retrieve his weapon, and as soon as his hand touches the lance, Kirk takes off, using the speed of lighting technique to jump into the air. “Thunder Cut!” he yells, slicing the silver counterpart in two as lighting strikes down from the skies and explodes the silver counterpart into dust.
Drew slashes through his fiery opponent, then slashes him with a continuous amount of combos. He takes one last slash before booting his copy in the chest, making him fall backwards onto his butt. Drew back flips a few feet away, “Just making distance.” he says. “For what?” the red copy asks, slowly getting back to his feet. “For this!” Drew exclaims as he lifts his Flame Saber into the air, “Inferno Flame…” Drew jumps into the air as all the fire around his body engulfs his Flame Saber, “attack!” he yells, slashing toward his counterpart, the fire extending, hitting the counterpart, turning it into dust.
Katelyn ducks under a back jab, then counters with a knee to the stomach, then an uppercut to the face, sending her copy flying backwards. The copy quickly retaliates by jumping forward and side kicking Katelyn in the helmet, sending her flying back and across the ground.
“Here, Kate! Let’s do the Flame Tornado!” Drew yells, running over to Katelyn and helping her back up to her feet.
“Don’t forget me!” Kirk exclaims, running over to Drew and Katelyn. “I got an idea. I’ll throw some lighting into the Flame Tornado.”
“Right!” Katelyn says as she extends her hand into the air, "Wind Tornado!” she yells
Drew brings his hand back, creating a ball of fire. He blasts it into the tornado, turning the regular, gray tornado into a spinning furry of flames.
“Here it goes…” Kirk says as he extends his hand into the air as silver lighting shatters down from the sky and strikes it. A small ball of electricity forms in his hand. He slowly brings it back, charging it, making it larger, then he blasts the ball into the Flame Tornado. For a couple of seconds nothing happens; then, the Flame Tornado starts to spit out electricity, making little rings of electricity around it.
“Thunder Flame Twister, attack!” they yell as the tornado dashes forward and into the white counterpart, turning it into dust.
**At Eltrin’s Space Castle**
“Damn! My plan is ruined, again!” Eltrin says, turning around to Krymeson, “And it’s all your fault!”
“S-S-Sorry, sir, it will not happen again! I-I-I had picked the wrong Sly to become the evil rangers, I am sorry!” Krymeson stated, backing away from Eltrin.
“I don’t want your damn sympathy,” Eltrin yelled, “I want you to become what I chose you for! To be a good general! And you’re obviously not doing so! Now, come back to me when you think you're eligible to be in the same room with me!”
**Back on Earth, at the local hangout**
“So,” Katelyn says, taking a sip of her drink, “you two have techniques. What do I get?”
“Who knows? Our powers came from involuntary acts. We didn’t try to do what we did.” Kirk replies.
“Hmm,” Katelyn says with a smile on her face, “involuntary. That’s a word I could never dream of coming out of your mouth.”
“You wanna know something?” Kirk says, leaning back in his chair, “You don’t need any special technique with that attitude and that big brain of yours!” Katelyn smiles as Kirk continues, “But seriously, your time will come. I don’t know when, but it’ll happen. And believe me, and Drew could probably say the same; it’ll shock you once it does.”
