Chapter XI- Relations

Mei, Brad, and Trent ran over to Lance as he got to his feet. “Are you okay, man?” Brad asked as Lance brushed himself off. “I’m fine.” Lance replied. Sirius then ran up, carrying four bundles of clothing. “Put these on, Rangers!” he shouted, throwing the bundles to their respective owners. “Your duties and problems aside, you must get to school. It is your last day, I believe.” he explained, panting from his running. After the Rangers got dressed, he gave each of them their cell phones. “Now go.” he said. The Rangers ran off, Lance already miles ahead.

To most of the students, the school day seemed to take days. But to Lance, it seemed to go all too fast. He was glad. He wanted to be out of that school. He wanted to be out so he could find his father…and kill him. He felt his shirt and felt the pistol that he had hid underneath. The final bell then rang and he got to his feet, walking while his peers ran, eager to leave the school behind for three months. He walked along the streets, his eyes on full alert for his elusive father.

Meanwhile, the three gems that Kelsey had sent into the air just one day before began to fall back to the Earth, each following its own path. As each made impact with the Earth, strange, diamond-shaped alarms began going off throughout the underground tunnels. Kanoka and Shiba could now barely move, both of them laying against the wall, battered and bruised from the beatings that they had endured from their failures. Shiba began to crawl out of the room, but Emperor Drag, upon entering, stepped on her hand, sending a shock of pain through her body. “Shiba…” he rasped. “I want amusement. Go out and try to uncover one of the gems.” he hissed. Shiba struggled and got to her feet. “Yes…” she whispered, limping off and taking one of the many lifts to the surface in the ever-growing tunnel system. She brought herself to the streets of Lion’s Side and pulled out the false amulet. It began pulsing with a dark blue color. She began to walk off, her left leg with a limp.

Sirius stepped out of an alleyway behind Trent, who was walking home. “Trent!” he yelled, catching up to him. “Shiba is on the surface, searching for a gem!” he explained. “Can’t we have just one free day? Just one?” Trent asked, impatiently, drawing out his cell phone. He started by calling up Mei and alerting her to the problem. He then called Brad, to agreed to help as well. Last on his list was Lance. On the other side of town, Lance’s cell phone rang as it hung at his side, but he paid no heed to it. He was determined to accomplish his own goal. Meanwhile, Trent gave up and put his cell phone into the pack on his back. He put the pack against the wall inside of the alley, and he and Sirius pulled out their amulets and made their call. “Zodiac Power, Now!” they yelled. “Aries Aura, Now!” Trent yelled, morphing. “Sagittarius Aura, Now!” Sirius yelled, morphing as well. The duo sped through the streets, searching for the armor-clad woman.

They soon reached their target. “Shiba, you’ve tried this before. Give it up.” Trent yelled. Shiba gave him a glare. “Alright then, we’ll take you down by force!” Trent shouted, running forward. Shiba turned away to run the other way, but was stopped by the Aquarius and Taurus Rangers. “Not so fast!” Brad yelled. Shiba sneered and held out her hand. In a few seconds, a group of members of the Swarm appeared. Shiba gave them a quiet command and they stood side by side in front of Shiba. Within a few minutes, the fifteen Swarm members became five powerful Denjis. They split into two groups and charged at the two groups of Rangers. They all summoned their StarBlades and successfully deflected the first attack. Trent then slashed at one Denji’s chest, knocking it back. Next to him, Sirius jumped into the air and came down with his StarBlade pointed outward, but it was deflected by the powerful Denji’s shield. Mei summoned her Aquarius Razor Blades and deflect two sword swipes, then struck at the knight-like warrior’s arms, causing it to fall to the ground. She thrust the blades down at the Denji, but they were deflected by its shield. Meanwhile, Brad summoned his Taurus Axe and slashed at the Denji, making a significant dent in its shield. He then jumped into the air as the Denji slashed the air where he had been only a few seconds ago. But as he landed, the Denji knocked him to the ground with his shield. Meanwhile, inside a dark alley, Kelsey watched as she pulled out the golden sphere. “Orion!” she yelled, bringing the sphere to her wrist. A golden light suddenly engulfed her. Beneath the golden light, unseen by all, her clothes shredded, leaving her standing in the nude. Silver spandex covered her legs, with a black line going down each leg. Golden boots covered her feet where her shoes had once been. Golden armor covered her arms, hands, and shoulders. Black spandex covered her body and crotch area, which was then covered by golden, black, and silver armor with green jewels embedded in the chest. A silver, black, and golden helmet with three blue jewels appeared on her head, still revealing her face. As the light faded, she charged forward and at the Denjis, ready to battle.

Meanwhile, Lance turned into an alleyway. He didn’t know why, but his heart told him that his father was nearby. “Hey, kid!” shouted a voice from above. Lance looked up to see two men descending from the roof of the two buildings on ropes. The first was a skinny yet muscular man wearing a white, sleeveless shirt, black jeans, and a red bandana on his head. There was a gigantic tattoo of a Chinese dragon taking up his entire left arm, the snout ending at the shoulder and tail reaching to his fingertips. The other was a man with a much wider build. He was wearing similar garb, but had no visible tattoo, a black bandana, and was wearing black tinted shades. “Well, what are you doing down here?” Tattoo asked. “Leave me alone.” Lance said arrogantly. “Hey, boss, I think this is Matthews’ kid!” Shades told the skinnier man. “I think you’re right!” Tattoo replied. He pulled out a knife. “Sorry about this, kid,” he said. “But we have some unfinished business with your old man. But, we’ll take care of you first.” he sneered. Lance peered behind him and saw that Shades was holding another knife. “Nice plan.” Lance said, sneering. “But you didn’t think it through well enough!” he yelled, flipping around the air. He landed on the other side of the duo and pulled his pistol on them both. “Sorry to be clique, but do you feel lucky?”

Shades and Tattoo dropped their knifes and in shock. The frail boy had revealed a pistol from underneath his jacket, and that had taken them from surprise. But he had not fired, even after his implying line. Lance just stood there, thoughts racing through his mind. And the memories of his past came back…

“Where is your mother?” Lance’s father yelled, throwing the six year-old boy against the wall of their trailer. He hit the wall, blood trailing from his lip. “I…I don’t…” Trent whispered. His five year-old brother then came crashing against the wall next to him. The two scared children huddled together and cried as their father flipped the nearest chair upside down. “Well, I’m going to find her.” their father said. He stormed out the door, a shotgun in his hand.

Lance tried to push the memories out of his mind. But he couldn’t stop the horrible memories from plaguing him. He never could, and he never would.

Lance’s father smacked him across the head at full force, knocking the sixteen year-old to the ground. His fifteen-year old brother, Taylor, came running to the rescue, punching his own father square in the face. His father then grabbed Taylor by the leg, held him upside down, and through him to the ground. Lance could hear bones break as he crawled to the phone and dialed the police and quickly gave them the number. In minutes an ambulance had pulled up along with a police car. As Taylor was carted away on a stretcher, the policeman came to talk to their father. But he tricked them…he kept Lance inside and tricked them into thinking Taylor was his only son and he had fallen from the stairs, breaking his legs and causing slight amnesia. The policeman bought it, thinking that the things Taylor said were the results of him being delirious. Lance sat in the house, looking on through the window as his brother was taken away and the policeman left. Lance slumped down on the ground, realizing he could no longer do anything to defend himself. He just waited for the next beating.

“No…stop…”

Lance, get off your ass and get to school!” Lance‘s father yelled. The voice echoed through the trailer and to seventeen year-old Lance’s cot that he was sleeping in. He sat up and got off the cot. He grabbed and broken hairbrush and tried to brush his uncontrollable blonde hair, but it was no use. He walked over to the door to the small trailer and threw on his falling-apart shoes and bargain-bin jacket. “I’m leaving, dad.” the boy said, glancing at the chair his dad was sitting on. Beer cans were strewn everywhere around the trailer, and the man held one in his own hand. “Alright, be back by eight, Taylor.” he said. “I’M NOT TAYLOR! MY NAME IS LANCE, YOU DRUNKEN FOOL!” the boy screamed, exploding in rage. In response, his father whipped his beer can at the boy, which caught him in the face, splattering beer all over the boy’s shirt. “You retard!” Lance yelled, turning for the door. He stopped himself. “Oh, by the way, your probation officer called. He’ll be here in about an hour.” he said, smirking. “WHAT?” his father asked in surprise. “I can’t clean this place up in that time!” his father exclaimed. “Oh, you can’t? Too bad, jackass.” Lance said with sarcasm, walking out the door and walking in the direction of the school.

“AHH!” Lance screamed, the memories overflowing in his mind. At that moment, he dropped his pistol to the ground, his eyes wide, as were those of Shade and Tattoo did the same. Lance’s gem lit up, and a circle of darkness enveloped him. When it faded, he had morphed…but not like he ever had before. A silver chest and shoulder armor covered his chest, shoulder, and the back area where his chest was on the other side. His visor was jagged, like it had been cut with the sharpest of scissors. His fingers were covered with steel claws, and his badge had disappeared. A sword with a jagged black blade rested in his right hand. “What the hell? A Power Ranger?” Shades asked in surprise. “No…I’m not a Power Ranger.” Lance whispered. “I’m the Power Ranger…from Hell.” Lance sneered, a snarl in his voice. He leapt forward and brought down the blade, creating a huge gash in Tattoo’s stomach. He then smashed him in the face with the blunt edge of the blade, knocking him to the ground as blood spurted from the gash. He then turned to Shade, his eyes flaring, and delivered a horrible and gruesome series of cuts to the man’s body. Whatever he did to either body, the result was the same. When he left the alleyway, both were dead. And he was no longer the same Ranger he was before.

Meanwhile, the sheer numbers of Denjis overwhelmed the Rangers, even with the Orion Angel’s help. They managed to back the group into a corner…when suddenly, a flash of black light came speeding down, slashing through the Denji and killing all five at once. Lance stood, in his devilish Ranger form, facing Shiba. “Lance?” Trent asked, surprised. Sirius stood, his eyes wide behind his visor. “No…” he gasped. Lance extended his jagged blade in front of him and ran forward. As he reached her, a small voice in his head told him to hit with the blunt edge of the blade. Shiba fell to the ground and Lance performed a turn, facing Shiba and the Rangers. The Rangers looked at Shiba laying on the ground in surprise. Her blue helmet lay three feet away. Long, beautiful brown hair flowed from her head. “She’s…human…” Brad whispered, just as surprised as the other Rangers. Lance approached her, raised his blade above his head, and struck.

heh heh, thanks. Anyway, the scene where Lance becomes the "Ranger from Hell" orgianlly involved a gun weapon instead of a sword, where he basiclly guns down Shades and Tattoo.
