Power Rangers Zeo: Alternate episode 3.

Previously: The Rangers had gained access to the Red Zeo Battlezord in order to defeat Sylo.
Then, five armoured warriors visciously assualted them as they leapt down from the Zeo Megazord.

Episode 3: All's Fair in Love and War.

Alpha watched the assualt unfold on the viewing globe. "Who on Earth?" The small robot turned to the console and activated the teleportation sequence.
In one wide beam, the five zeo rangers materialised on the floor. TJ seemed to be the only one who had remained conscious.
The blue ranger struggled to sit up. Alpha rushed to his side. "Are you alright, TJ?"
The young man nodded. "What happened?"
Alpha didn't need to answer his question. The screen showed the five warriors who had attacked them moments before.
All of them wore individual and white colored suits. A white warrior had a black and gold type vest decorating his front.
By the looks of it, the blue warrior was female.
"Who are they?" he said, directing his question at Zordon.
"I have no record of them in my databanks, TJ." Zordon answered
Alpha stepped back as he saw the other rangers were beginning to come round.

Mondo looked down as the five warriors demolished the zeo rangers.
He turned to Klank. "I want you to find out who they are and if they are interested in striking up an alliance."
Klank nodded. "At once, my sire."
He turned his attention back toward the soon to be invaded planet below. "If they can destroy the zeo rangers, I want them on my side."
The viewing globe whirred into life.

"Who are those guys?" TJ asked.
On the screen were the five warriors, in Ranger like armour.
"You wanna find out?" Adam asked, stepping aside to allow Max to move to the front.
"It's Morphin Time!" he called, "Zeo Power!"

The Zeo Rangers dropped as the five warriors spun around.
"So," Zeo Red commented, "Who do we have here?"
The other Red warrior stepped up to face him. "You're in my way, star boy."
"This coming from a guy who looks like he just got kicked out of a pyjama party." Max replied, looking at the intruder's suit.
"I'll ask again, who the hell are you?"
The one dressed in white stepped forward. "We are the evolution of power rangers."
"And you and your zeo crystal are obselete." the yellow one finished.
The red ranger stepped forward. "We are the Royaru Shigunu, Rangers.."

The zeo team readied themselves. "We'll just see about that!" Zeo blue growled as he took a battle stance.
Zeo Red took on Royaru Red.
Zeo Blue took on Royaru Black.
Zeo Yellow took on Royaru Yellow.
Zeo Pink took on Royaru Blue.
Zeo Green took on Royaru White.

The strength of the Royary Shigunu won out over the zeo powers.

Royaru Red hit Zeo Red with a spinning tornado kick, knocking him down beside his team.
"I've had it with this freak!" Zeo Red snarled as he got back to his feet and charged. "ZeoRifle!"
He combined his ZeoBlade and ZeoPistol to form the ZeoRifle and fired.
Royaru red parried the blasts and knocked Zeo Red back. "Fire Sabre!" he called, "Ignite!"

Max could feel the heat from the intruder's sword even at this distance. It got worse as he closed the distance between them.
"Maybe we can talk about this...?"
Royaru red sniggered. "I don't think so!" he smirked as he struck the red zeo ranger with the flames. He watched as he fell screaming to the ground.
The other zeo rangers ran to their leader.
"ZeoRifles !" Zeo Green called as they combined their laser pistols and blades.
"We're giving you one chance to walk out of here with your heads still attached!" he added.

Royaru White signalled to his team. "Watch your backs, rangers." he said as he and his team shimmered away.

Mondo tracked the Royaru Rangers to a base in the Sahara Desert.
A place where neither man nor machine would dare to enter.
His forces had taken a back seat to see what would come of the two power teams.
The battle was to his advantage.
"Sire?"
"Is it ready, Klank?"
"Yes sire. We will be ready to launch when you give the word."
"Excellent."

They were forced to retreat to the power chamber once again.
Adam had paused to check on Max before repo.rting their status. Alpha had applied a lotion to the burns and his suit was hepling them heal
"The Zeo swords and laser pistols just aren't enough." he stated.
Zordon turned to Alpha and nodded.

Royaru Red helped his teammates back into their base.
Yellow had taken a beating against their zeo counterpart.
Why? Why hadn't it been easier?
The Zeo were novices, the Shigunu were veterans.
That had been what they were told.
What they had been told was wrong.
The only advantage they had was that their arsenal was not complete, where the Zeos could not get any more powerful.
Red approached the White. "Are you alright."
White nodded. "They are skilled warriors. We were told that would not be the case."
Black approached them. "It seems Earth will not be as easy a target as Aquitar or Triforia."
Red agreed. "What about the one who was following us?"
"The one who could not enter the Aquitan waters?" Blue asked, "His ship was destroyed. He did not survive. He could not."
Red nodded again. "We have to take Earth, and quickly."

The small robot entered a number sequence into the control panel and the section which displayed the original power weapons slid up.
"Woah." TJ breathed as he saw the arsenal now on display.
"Rangers," Zordon began, "These are your Zeo weapons, the most powerful hand held weapons created yet."
Each ranger removed the weapon with their insignia on it.
"Katherine, this is your Zeo power disk. In times of need it can enlarge to become the Zeo shield.
"Ashley, these are your zeo batons, powerful clubs.
"TJ, the zeo three arm blades. Use them wisely.
"Adam, your Zeo four twin axes.
"Max, your zeo five power sword."
Alpha showed them the weapons full potential. "When all combine, they form the Zeo Balster, more powerful than either the Power Blaster or the Ninja Cannon. Use this weapon wisely, rangers."
Max smiled as he put his Zeo weapon into the sub space storage area. "Let's bring these imposters down."
They all placed their hands on their belt buckles. "BACK TO ACTION!!"

The Royaru Shigunu waited as the Zeo Rangers dropped.
"Back for another defeat?" Royaru Red challenged.

Zeo Red stepped up first. "Ready!"
"READY!!"
"Zeo One Power Disc!"
"Zeo Two Power Batons!"
"Zeo Three Arm Blades!"
"Zeo Four Power Axes!"
"Zeo Five Power Sword!"

The Zeo Rangers charged the Royaru Shigunu with their new weapons, which gave them the upper hand.
One by one, the Royaru Shigunu warriors were knocked to the ground.
Royaru Red recovered first. "Fire Sabre!" and his sword ignited.
"Zeo Five Power Sword!" Zeo Red called as he countered the charge.

The swords of the two leaders of the opposing teams clashed. Royaru Red pushed his face into Zeo Red.
"You can't win, Zeo Five."
"I can, I will."
With that he snapped his sword away and swung through, slashing Royaru across the chest.
He landed beside his team

Mondo had had enough of sitting on the sidelines. "Klank, have you contacted them yet?"
Klank scurried to his master's aide. "No sire, we have not located their base of operations yet."
"Send down the cogs!"

They were getting ready for round three when the cogs landed, followed shortly by a robot which the zeo scanner identified as PsychoBorg.
The Borg tore into the ten warriors, knocking them all down.
"Looks like we've got ourselves a triple threat." Zeo Blue growled as he rolled to his feet.
Zeo Red turned to Royaru Red. "We can settle this later. You seem to hate the machine empire almost as much as us."
The red and white suited warrior turned to face him. "Yes, we will."
And with that statement, the invading team shimmered from existence.
Zeo Red ignored the illusions . "Concentrate team."
Zeo Green stepped forward. "We need Zeo Zord power!"
Zeo Red summoned his zeo zord and then raised his communicator to his lips. "Red Battlezord!"

The five zeo zords left the holding bay in the mountains via the door while the Battlezord launched from the bay's cannon.

He streaked into the Battlezord's cockpit as it landed.
"Activating Gatling cannon!"
The Battlezord raised it's forearms and pumped the cannons back and forth, blasting Psycho-Borg with multiple lances of energy.

He moved the battlezord back to allow the Zeo Megazord in.
Zeo Green occupied the centre seat. "This one's ours. Zeo Power Punch!"
The Megazord energised it's fist and smashed it into Psycho Borg's face.
The robot stumbled but groggily managed to remain on it's feet.
"Adam!" Zeo Blue called, "Let's hit him again!"
Zeo Green nodded. "Activate Zeo Mega-Sabre!"

The Sabre slashed across the torso of Psycho Borg, again failing to take him down.

Alpha had been monitoring the zord battle. "The rangers need help. The Zeo power sword didn't take it down!"
Zordon linked the communication to the red battlezord. "Max, do you read me?"

Zeo Red opened a channel. "This isn't a good time for a phone call, Zordon."
"Listen to me, you need to combine the Zeo Megazord and the Red Battlezord to form the Zeo MegaBattlezord."
"And how exactly do I do that?"
"Keep your mind clear and call for it. The Zord voice activation systems should be able to do it."
The channel closed.
"Let's give it a shot, team!" Zeo Red called, "Your call, Adam."
"Activate Zeo Mega-Battlezord!" Zeo Green called.

In the cockpit of the Battlezord, Max crossed his fingers. "Keep it together, Max, just keep it together."

The two zords lined up back-to-back and began the transformation.
It took three attempts to merge the zords.

Zeo Red slid into the new cockpit. "Zeo MegaBattlezord, online!"
"Shoulder Cannons, Fire!!"

From their vantage point, the Royaru Shigunu watched as the Zeo Rangers new formation vapourised Psycho Borg.
"How long until they arrive?" Royaru Black asked.
Royaru Red turned to him. "They'll be here soon, and then the Zeo Rangers will fall."

TJ entered the youth centre to find Adam training alone. "Hey."
Adam finished the move he was doing. "Hey, TJ."
TJ stood back, admiring his prowess. "You okay, Adam?"
Adam mopped his brow with his towel. "I don't get it TJ. That Royaru white, in fact the whole team. The way they fight..."
TJ leaned in closer. "What about it?"
"Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'm sure I've seen it before."
The blue ranger looked around. "Where's Max?"
"He's saying goodbye."

Max had been here too many times, only this time, there wasn't a body to mourn over, just a monument to fallen heroes.
"You'd think after everything I'd been through I'd have realised life was too short to hold back. Everytime I wanted to tell you, something always seemed to get in the way, mainly Zedd."
This was the last place he had been alone with her. Visting the grave of another fallen ranger.
"What I'm trying to tell you is...I loved you Trini. I think I did from the first time I saw you. But I knew you didn't feel the same, I just wanted you to know."
He placed the flower reeth down and turned to walk away, only to be stopped by a rustling in the bushes.
"Somebody there?" he called out.
No answer.
"Zordon, scan the area near Angel Grove cemetry."
A few seconds passed before he answered. "I am not detecting anything, Max."
The Red Ranger lowered his wrist. "I could've sworn I heard something."

She watched as the one known as Zeo Ranger Five teleported away in a column of red light.
One word, one name, imprinted itself on her mind.
"Max?"

A mysterious stranger arrives in Angel Grove. His motives unknown and a bloodlust for revenge.
