Ok, I have been wondering how some of you write + post your fanfictions.

I got to thinking, and I thought about if it'd be easier to write the whole season of your fanfic your first, then post it. And while you are simply just copying + pasting, you can start on your next season, kinda like how disney works with sentai. Are you following me?

So I just want to ask for some type of advice/how you write your fanfic.

Do you write it and as soon as you're done do you post it?

Or do you write the whole season then post it?

Well im tryin something for mien. I knwo some writers write like a couple of eps then decide they dont like it anymore, and the fans get left hanging. SO im going to write half of the season then start posting and by the time i get down posting im ready to psot the rest fo the reason and then i can start on seaosn 2(if I do a seaosn 2 but i think i am cause i have a realy good team)

What I do is get a few episodes an advance. This way you can get feedback and get better while the season goes on rather then making a mistake and having it through the entire fic. Being a few in advance rather then posting once your done makes it so you never get to far behind, and you can post on a consistante bases.

So you write like 5 episodes in advance, then post them? Then, in that period of time wright more or what?

with me, i write a lot or abit, depneding on what i want, post some ideas on here, get feedback, then continue on. however, i can't post my fics if brother doesn't have printer instaled on his computer, or won't let me use it.

Yeah, I write about 5 episodes in advance, then post 1, give it time to get some people to read it, then post another. During that time I write another episode, so I'm always around 5 in advance. Sometimes it goes down to 4 if I'm busy, or up to 6 or more if I'm not, but it's normally around 5.

I don't see why you'd want to write several episodes ahead of time. I say strike while the iron's hot. If people don't like the story, then you get left over crapola.

I do have the entire season planned out for my fic however (30 eps in all). That can be a good thing and bad. Spantaneous new ideas can replace older ideas. It happens often.

I know that much. I always plan out my fic, and old ideas replace others often. I guess we both have the same disease. :p

Yep. The flesh is never satisfied. Our imaginations work faster than our time and availability to write, so getting burnt out/losing interest can also be a bigger problem as well. I keep wishing I can just magically have a DVD set appear in my hands of what my fic would be like if it were actually produced the way I wrote it to be. Then I could just sit back and enjoy!

u ain't the only one who wishes that. and if you could make that happen, i'd like a copy of the DVD set. *grins and sits back to listen to DMX singin " Don't Gotta Go Home" feat. Monica" *

When I wrote my series, I posted as I wrote. I had the entire story mapped out, but would post a new section each day or so.

I also plan all my episodes ahead, including how it will tie in with my next fic.

Yep, I'm always writing my fics way before I actually get around to posting them. One thing I always seem to find is that, if while writing I come up with a really good idea for a storyline, I have to make sure it doesn't contradict anything that's already happened in a previous chapter.

If I was to post each chapter as I write it, if I used an idea which went against something already established, I'd have to go back to that old chapter and change it around - something that could confuse the readers if they've already read how it was before.

However, if I wait before I start posting the fic, I can edit stuff freely and as I see fit: changing bits, adding things in and removing others, in order to ensure it all makes sense and complements one another.

When you write it in advance, you can really help your fic to be the best it can be. Granted, it takes longer to get your fic out there, but in the end it might just be worth it! :)

Depends. My first story I had written in advance and then posted a chapter a day.

But with my last two I am posting as I go. I get a chapter done then I post it. I do that mainly for the feedback. If people are liking it then you know to go in the direction you were headed if not then you can change things up a bit.

Or do you write the whole season then post it? I write each episode for a month in advance. For example: It's April now. I already have all the episodes for May written. Now when the begining of May rolls around, I'll have all the episodes for June written.

I myself post each episode as I write them. Right after I'm finished with an episode I post it online.

I personally dont do episode, I write it in novel format.

Well I kinda screw myslef over with my storys. I start off writing one chapter a time and posting them as soon as I finish them. Usually all of my stories realy have no plot in mind set, I just think of ideas in middle of my writting. When I write a story, lets say Forbidden Power, the only thing I had in mind is I wanted the rangers to have the old rangers reunite, and I also wanted to say what was going in on their lives, all other plots and such what was made up as I went along. Same thing with my Jason fanfic, my origanel intent on that fic was to make Jason all dark and alone, then make him into a vampire slayer, as you see the story did not turn out that way at all.

But I am currently working on a project that I will put full effort into. I will carefully take my time detailing the plot, the ideas, and organize them before I beging writing. Each chapter will have a couple of pages of notes that I will refrence to while writing my story. I will also wright the complete thing before I post it.

I know what you're saying. I've cancelled many fafics (which I am about to do) just because I plan too far ahead or my imagi-nation(HAHA Jeff Hardy RULES!) runs wild and I get too interested in an idea, and lose interest in my current one.

Although, my next fic will most definitly have it's full episodes, as I am writing the whole series out. It should start sometime in between May and July.

I write the story then post it. Since I never finish seasons, I do stand-alone stories.
