Ideas for my new fan fic.

I am currently working on a new fic. It is about a couple of kids who are freinds and some who are not freinds, who try to survive in a strange world. My question for you guys is should I make this strange world the or a digimon world or something similar or should I add origanell concepts. I would like to be more informative but I dont want to spoil anythin.
