A new galactic evil emerges, seeking five powerful objects of untold mystery and power.

In the year 4010 a new team of Rangers arises in an era without heroes.....

Power Rangers: Starlancer
Part One of the Fading Stars Cycle

........................................................................... ..............................

"The New Directive" Part One

Earth, Terra, Third rock from the Sun. Home. A blue world unlike any in the universe.

(Our view zooms threw countless stars into our own solar system, then finally centers on the third planet.)

Earth is the traditional homeworld of the Human Race, but it is no longer mankind's only home.

It is the year 4550. Mankind has spread threwout the galaxy. Colonies abound on many worlds.

During Earth's first galactic expedition to space, the famed Terra Venture mission, legends abounded of heros, heroes called Power Rangers. These heroes protected the mission from disaster.

Peace has thrived since then on Earth and beyond. And it seems not only has mankind no further need for heroes, but now has relegated them to museum items ignored by most passerbys.

Planet Alegerious.......

The landscape is a dry, sahara-like desert, the planet's three suns blaze overhead. Only one figure is seen moving.

The man is running towards us, away from something fast approaching.

Sweat streams down her forhead, and we realize the man is actually a woman. And she is carrying something. A box, a golden box.

Behind her, we hear the sound of hoofbeats, and into our view comes a black horselike creature with skeletal armor, and an equally skeletal warrior baring long ram's horns riding it.

The rider is not alone, four other similar riders flank him on both sides. All are intent on one thing, retriving the mysteryious box from the woman they pursue.

Suddenly a laser blast slams the lead rider, knocking him off his horse.

Our view suddenly turns to the direction the blast came from, and we see a warrior clad in red armor, with a black star shaped visor, and a large white star on the armor's chestplate.

The skeletal riders back off, and then retreat, obviously fearing whoever is waring the red armor.

"Thankyou, whoever you are." The woman says to the red warrior.

"Do not thank me, thank my emplorer" The Red warrior says absent mindedly.

"Count Nefarious' rider will be back, in larger amounts, we should find shelter." The women says.

"I am to deliver you and the box you carry to the Starlight Temple on Marinus, follow me" The Red Warrior said.

"Of coarse" The woman replyed.

Our view then zooms out, until we see the red warrior and the women walking over the desert towards a starship nearby.

The scene changes to outer space, in orbit around the desert world below. We see the ship from before flying up out of the planet's atmosphere.

"Master, the Bounty Hunter is escaping with the Starlancer Box." A large, black, golem-like creature with a flat head and red eyes says.

Our view turns to another in the same room, a sinister looking man in his mid-twenties, with black hair, white skin, a thin-black mustache, and black armor, complete with a black cape.

"I know fool. I let them get away. We will follow them to the Starlight temple's location itself, and then I will forefill my destiny. So swears COUNT NEFARIOUS"

(Themesong)

Space, a place some used to call the final frontier. Now its just another place to make money in humanity's great economic system known as capitalism.

We see a man in a high-tech spacesuit, torch in hand, applying finishing touches to the hull of a spaceship.

Suddenly a shudder is felt by the man, as the entire ship shakes..

Looking around, the man sees what caused the shudder..

Not far away, the repair station the ship the man is currently working on is station at explodes. And the culprit is nearby. A group of fighter craft resembling flying horned skulls passes by, readying to attack the other spacecraft nearby.

The man's heart pounds, adrenaline rushing. Then as he is about to pass out, he sees the fighter craft head in his direction. When the eyes of the fighter craft begin glowing red, the man realizes his end is near......

Suddenly our view is replaced with static. We zoom out to see a briefing room full of millitary personal.

The aged man, waring the customary silver uniform of United Space Defense, addresses the crowd.

"That is all we know about these mysteryious invaders. Now I realize that this is, for most of you anyway, a first mission. So listen closely." The aged man said

Cadet Jarem was excited, if alittle afraid. He had heard stories of space battles growing up, mostly against space pirates. It was his dream to go into space. But this latest scene the General of Space forces played back from an incident that happened little over one hour prior, shook his confidence.

In the stories he heard as a kid, the Space Forces always defeated the pirates. Good always triumphed. But this wasn't a story it was real, and Good didn't always win. Jarem realized with a shudder, that he could even die out there.

Jarem was in the front row of the assembly. He, like everyone in the room, wore a standard issue uniform. His closely combed blond hair stood out sharply with the majority of the room, who had brown or black hair.

"Our mission is as follows, squad A and D will defend the capital starships from enemy fire. Squads B and C will engage at will any enemy starfighters. Squad E will remain in orbit as a last line of defense. The Enemy is heading in this direction, it will take them awile to cross to the other side of Marinoi, but when they do, I want everyone of you prepared. Dismissed"

After the usual hustle and bustle following the end of the briefing, Jarem quickly followed his fellow Squad B members to the Defender's hangar bay. The Defender was one of Marinoi's defensive space cruisers. Jarem had hoped to be assigned to the Invincible, the pride of the Defense Fleet. But he knew only the best pilots hoped to fly out from that ship.

Lowering himself into his Fighter's cockpit, Jarem strapped on his helmut, and his restraints, and ordered the Starfighter's cockpit down.

Jarem's chest pounded, slowly at first, then heavily when the hangar bay doors opened. This was it, Jarem was about to fly into his first real mission.

Thrusters caused Jarem's Quasar Attack Starfighter to streak ahead and zoom out the hangar into the vacuum of space.

No more fear gripped Jarem's heart. Know only his training remained.

His squadron flew in a tight V formation, accompanyed by squad C nearby. The starfighters were all painted the same silver as Jarem's uniform, their aerodynamic, winglike shapes reflecting the sunlight coming from the other side of Marinoi.

Thinking turned to action when, from the far side of Marinoi's second moon, the enemy arrived.

A large, black, almost grenade-like shaped capital starship could be seen, along with countless black dots streaking away from it.

"B-2, do you see that?" Jarem asked his left wingman.

"Affirmative B3, looks like a capital starship and space debris" B-2 said

"Negative B2, I'm reading, 30, forty, no fifthy enemy craft heading towards us. As for the capital starship, wait, no this can't be right." Jarem said, staring in disbelief at the battle statistics being desplayed on his on-board computer

"I don't Copy" B-2 said

"Flight Leader, that capital starship is over three miles across." Jarem said

"I see it B-3, I'll relay the data to mission command, standby for orders."

But time was something they did not have, when the fifthy enemy craft arrived, laser beams tearing up B-2 and B-1, the Squad B flight-leader.

Jarem, and the remainder of Squad-B, along with Squad-C, took evasive action, each assigning one of the skull-shaped enemy craft as a indivual target.

The Defender, along with its own two protective squads, entered the fray, their response to the "Flying Skulls" was a series of no-nonsense laser blasts. The nearby Capital Starships, the Couragious, the Lionheart and the Marinoi's Honor, launched their own Starfighter squadrons, all eight of them. Normal, squads F, G and H would be in the battle, but the Defender's remaining fighters were still undergoing repairs from a recent Pirate schirmish.

Jarem narrowly piloted his craft under the Defender, and blasted a Skullfighter to scrap.

"B-3, do you copy, an enemy's hot on your tail." B-4 said

"I Copy, taking evasive action" Jarem said, executing a 180 degree turn, hoping it would be enough to shake the Skull behind him off.

Nearby......

"Master, the battle is proceding well" The black creature said

Count Nefarious gazed out of the bridge's window.

He enjoyed watching starfighter dogfights. Battle was Count Nefarious' sole form of entertainment. That, and making his enemies suffer.

"As much as I enjoy watching my Skullfighters wipe the floor with the Space Defense Force, we still do have a schedule to keep Wormwood." Count Nefarious said.

"I'll order the Skullfighters to stop playing with the humans then." Wormwood said

"Once Marinoi's out of the way, the nearby planet Gearac, and the Starlight Crystals inside the planet's temple, will both fall quickly sir" A goblin-like creature near Count Nefarious said.

"Right you are Dremloc." Count Nefarious said.

Back at the battle......

The pattern of the Skulls was changing. No longer were they engaging individual fights, but had once again formed into a coherant formation.

They advanced towards Jarem's squadron in masse.

"Get out of the way B-3!" One of Jarem's wingmates screamed.

But it was two late. A blast had slammed the back of Jarem's craft, sending him tumbling out of control.

Jarem tried to scream, but found no sound could penentrate his lipps.

Tumbling out of control, Jarem drifted at high speed away from the battlefield, away from the explosion of the Defender and his fellow wingmates, and away from Marinoi itself.

Grief and Anger welled up in Jarem's chest, and then Jarem fell into mercyful unconsciouness.....

Gearac.......

The Red Warrior's starship entered the earth-like planet's atmosphere, then once it reached the ground, landed near a magnificent white marble temple.

The Red Warrior exited his ship, along with the women.

Gasping, the Red Warrior removed his helmut, reveiling the face of a teenager barely 19 years of age. His black hair was soaked with sweat, obvious from the long period of time he spent wearing a helmut.

"Your only a child" The woman said surprised

"Does it matter, your alive aren't you? I cause you haven't noticed, you aren't much older than I am" The Unmasked Red Warrior said

"I always thought that Karac the Red would be a man. Oh well. Come, my mother is expecting us." The Women said

The two strood into the temple, the women still carrying the Starlight Box.

A woman wearing golden robes greeted the two once they were inside the temple.

"Sarisa, your alright, I'm so glad!" The Golden Robed Women said, embracing Sarisa in a tight hug.

"Mother, I am practically a grown woman!" Sarisa said, annoyed

"Your never too old to be hugged by you mother. I was worried Count Nefarious killed you thats all. Come, we must place the Starlight Crystals in the vault." Sarisa's mother said

"Your lucky" Korac said as the Priestess walked away with the Starlight Box.

"Why would you say that?" Sarisa said

"I never knew my parents" Korac said

A grim silence stretch out after that moment...

"Im sorry, I didn't know" Sarisa said

"No problem, trust me, I've had much more insensitive employers than you and your mother." Korac said

Space.....

Count Nefarious' Grenade-Ship and its SkullFighter escort had long since finished mopping up the fools who opposed them in orbit around Marinoi, and now approached the purplish-blue world of Gearac.

"We have arrived in the Gearac system my lord" Wormwood said

"Excellilent, accompany me and our entire Skulldagger ground forces to the serface Wormwood. Dremloc, your in charge up here, I trust you'll keep things running smoothly while I'm gone?" Count Nefarious said.

"Of coarse master" The diminative Goblin-like creature said.

Jarem awoke with a start. He gazed at his surroundings. By the look of things, he was on temperate forest world. The purplish sky was different from Marinoi's blue, but wasn't unpleasant to look at.

While Jarem may have been untouched, aside from a few bumps and bruises, the ship was another story. The ship's last remaining power had been consumed by finding a nearby, non-warzone planet, and then piloting to and landing on that planet.

"I wonder what dad would think of me now. First combat expierence, and I fly out of the battle and crash on an unknown planet." Jarem said to himself, then groaned as he forced himself out of the pilot's seat and out of the cockpit of his wrecked fighter.

Looking around, Jarem saw a structure nearby, a large white marble cathedral from the look of it.

Hurrying, Jarem started the long walk towards the structure, in hopes of finding shelter.

Then Jarem's stomach droped, as he saw Flying Skulls in the sky. He had been followed....

Nearby...

Count Nefarious teleported into a small clearing in the forest near the Starlight Temple with a swirl of dark colors. Wormwood arrived alongside his master in a flash of black lightning.

teleporting onto the scene, was hundreds of black skinned, featureless warriors, wearing skeletal armor and welding sickles.

Inside the Starlight-Temple....

Korac got a blipp from his wrist computer.

"Computer report" Korac said, somewhat annoyed his conversation with Sarisa was interupted.

"Count Nefarious and his army have touched down nearby outside the Starlight Temple."

"Damnit" Korac said

"We don't have time to evactuate the priests!" Sarisa said, eyes wide in fright.

"I'd worry about yourself girl" A sinister sounding voice said

Stepping into view was a monster seamingly composed of molten rock, with a dragon-like face and wings.

Sarisa stared at the monster without fear. She had ran recently from other monsters.

"Get to safety, I'll hold him off" Korac said, pointing a blaster pistol at the monster.

"Oh please" The monster said, as he was joined by a group of skeletal warriors who had just bashed down the Temple's front door.

Count Nefarious stepped out from behind the monster, a grin frozen on his face.

"You'll never get the Starlight crystals while I'm protecting them Count Nefarious!" Korac said, without fear.

"Your courage is admirable boy, but I fear this isn't a story of heriocs, but cold hard reality" Count Nefarious said, shrugging, and firing twin laser beams from his eyes into Korac, sending him flying aside.

Sarisa stood in shock.

"Ignore the girl, you know why we are here" Count Nefarious said, stepping over Korac's unconsious form.

Nearby...

Jarem ran towards the smoking temple, looking for another entrance besides the front gate.

He saw what he was looking for. On the temple's side was a rock. A powerful enough weapon could in theory blast the rock, allowing passage to the temple.

Gazing down at his side, Jarem saw his standard issue blaster tucked in its holster.

Pulling the gun out, Jarem proceded to blast the annoying boulder to pebbles and then entered the exposed side entrance.

Nearby......

Count Nefarious, with a grin on his face, forced open the door leading to the inner santuam. Not expecting any further resistance, he had ordered the majority of his forces, except for a few Skulldaggers and the monstrious Draken, back to the ship.

On an altar directly in front of him, was the Starlight Box.

"Not another step. I don't know who you are, but your obviously responsible for the deaths of the entire Marinoi defense fleet. Put down any weapons you may have and back up against the wall." Jarem said

Count Nefarious turned with annoyance at the blond haired male human youth to his right, then smiled.

"Look Boy, I'm unarmed" Count Nefarious said, raising his hands, letting lose a series of laser blasts.

Jarem rolled out of the way of the incoming blasts, his training obviously had paid off.

Sarisa's mother entered the chamber, staff in hand.

"So my dear sister, you have finally showed yourself." Count Nefarious said, turning his dark gaze from the shock Jarem.

"I smelled your foul odor when you entered orbit" The priestess said

"It wasn't long ago that you were evil Yari, you should never have betrayed the darkness. You broke Father's heart, he died in grief because of you" Count Nefarious said

"Father didn't give on ounce of spacedust about me Sigmund and you know it" Yari replied

"The name is Count Nefarious. Now hand over the Starlight Crystals before I lose my patience." Count Nefarious said

Jarem was about to pull the trigger on his weapon when the Count's gaze fell on him, and a telekinetic shove knocked his weapon aside.

"Over my dead body" Yari said

"That can be arranged." Count Nefarious said, launching bolts of dark energy towards Yari.

Yari countered with white energy bolts of her own.

The two opposing energies conlided, then stoped, each combatant's beam trying to overpower the others.

"I have gotten far stronger since you left home dear sister, stronger than you could EVER BE" Count Nefarious said, overpowering Yari, and slamming her with both his, and Yari's own beams.

Yari fell to the floor, and Count Nefarious quickly stepped towards the Starlight Box housing the mysteryious Starlight Crystals.

Grasping the box Count Nefarious smiled. After eions of searching, the power of the Starlancers of legend would be his.

Count Nefarious, satisfied, teleported he, and the rest of his army back to the ship.

Sarisa and Korac then ran into the room, glancing curiously at Jarem, then hurried over to Yari's wounded form lying on the ground.

"Mother!" Sarisa said, shaking the prown form of her mother.

"Saris....a. My.....daughter....don't let him win, fight him, or the galaxy will..be destroyed." Yari said weakly

"I will mother" Sarisa said, sobbing.

"But if Count Nefarious already has the crystals" Korac began

"He doesn't have all of them." Yari said, then unfolded her palm, reveiling three star-shaped crystals, one red, one blue and one green.

"What good will three crystals do against somebody with supernatural powers." Jarem said, deciding he was as much a part of what was going on as Korac, Sarisa, and the dying Yari

"They have...more power...than you could imagine...power enough to save the galaxy....to stop my ....brother." Yari said

"What can we do?" Korac said softly

"Take the crystals, they will give you the power to become mystical warriors known as Power Rangers. Only...with their power...will you stand a chance." Yari said

Korac felt instinctively drawn to the red crystal. Sarisa stopped crying, and took the green crystal from her mother. And Jarem, confused as he was, felt obligated to avenge his friends on the Defender, and took the Blue crystal.

"Remember...With...Right...Comes...Might" Yari said, and then went limp....

"MOTHER!" Sarisa said in dispair.

Korac put his hand on Sarisa's shoulder.

"We will avenge her. Nefarious will pay" Korac said

"Are you with us stranger?" Korac asked Jarem

"I'll do whatever I can to help you" Jarem said

Meanwhile.....

Count Nefarious was very pleased. He gazed lovingly at the golden starlight box, then slowly began to open it. When he saw what was inside, a look of horror formed on his face....

Only two of the five crystals had been in the box all along.

Count Nefarious slammed the box onto the ground, then gazed at the hidious purple planet nearby.

"This isn't over dear sister, oh no" Count Nefarious said

"Power of the Stars"

The world turns, as they used to say. While mankind may now live on far more than simply one world now, the old saying still applys. Times changed things, and there is no greater teacher than time itself....

Planet Gearac, Starlight Temple

Jarem, Korac and Sarisa gazed up at the violet skies overhead, knowing full well that danger would soon overtake them. But fear was not something they felt. Rather they felt determination, and confidence.

Count Nefarius meanwhile, felt only rage.

That was something all three youths took pleasure in, there was no doubt....

Jarem approached his new teamates without fear or shyness.

"My name is Jarem, its a pity we could have met under better circumstances."

"My mother used to always speak about prophecy and destiny" Sarisa said

"So you believe we were destined to meet each other?" Jarem asked

"Who knows, all I know is that you seem to be a good person, somebody I can trust I mean" Sarisa said

"I gave my word I'd help you. Its wrong to bear witness to a crime and do nothing to help." Jarem said

"You speak without emotion, almost millitantly" Korac noted, somewhat annoyed

"I am, well, was part of the Defense Fleet of Marinoi." Jarem said

"I suggest you get out of it then, my parents were killed shortly after I was born, and they, like you, were Defense Officers." Korac said

"Risk is part of life, you should know that." Jarem retorted

Korac crossed his arms, a wry smerk on his face.

"Well, being in the millitary is like stepping in front of a starship about to jump to lightspeed, its basically suicide" Korac said

"I joined to defend my family and friends on Marinoi, if I have to die to save them, so be it!" Jarem said annoyed.

"Theres nothing noble about dying. Honor is about living, not dying" Korac said

"And a mercenary would be an expert on such a subject" Jarem said

"Guys, stop fighting, if we are going to stop Nefarious, we have to come at him united. Disagreements are one thing, but now is not the time" Sarisa said

"Yeah your right Sarisa, sorry" Korac said

Jarem glared at Korac for a second longer, than look once again at the sky overhead.

In Orbit.....

Count Nefarious slammed his fist against the arm of his throne. How was it that his dimwitted sister had outwitted he, the greatest space warlord of the millenium?

"Something troubling you master?" Wormwood said, noticing the scowl on his master's face.

"It is my destiny to rule the galaxy, but first I need those gems. It is imperative we destroy those three brats before they learn how to harness the Starlight powers." Count Nefarious said

"The Dregan you summoned is still bound by its contract master, perhaps he could do the job?" Wormwood said

"Send the Skulldaggers first, it is always wise to test the enemy before striking with full force." Count Nefarius said.

"At once master" Wormwood said

Wormwood ran his fingers across the control console on the ship's bridge until he found a black skull-shaped button.

Five or so missiles streaked out from the Grenadeship and entered the atmosphere of Gearac. Each missile was black in color, with the same skeletal markings as the deadly cargo they carried....

Gearac.....

"I'm threw waiting like this, we should strike him before he hits us." Korac said.

"That wouldn't be wise" Jarem said

"More of your 'millitary' expertise?" Korac said

"Look, I've had it up to HERE with you!" Jarem said, anger evidant in his tone.

Suddenly, the calm air picked up into a fierce gust.

"We've got company!" Sarisa said, spotting five black missile-shaped objects heading their way.

The missiles slammed into the temple, destroying what was left of it, and causing a large explosion which knocked Sarisa, Korac and Jarem off their feet.

"He's lobbing missiles at us from orbit now?" Korac said, obviously annoyed at such cowardly tactics.

"Just shut up and get back on your feet like the rest of us." Sarisa said

"I don't think that attack was ment to destroy us, LOOK!" Jarem said, pointing at the temple rubble, where black skeletal hands were forcing their way to the surface.

The creatures shoved aside the rubble, and stood in formation menacingly.

"These guys again" Korac said, ready his fist and his gun for combat.

"If they are anything like the craft they pilot, we are in trouble." Jarem said, also battle ready

The Skulldaggers approached menacingly, scythes in hand.

The three youths stood back to back, obviously both outnumbered and surrounded.

"We are no match for them, how do we use the crystal's power?" Jarem said

"I'll be the judge of that" Korac said, sending a laser slamming into one Skulldagger's chest.

When the blast impacted harmlessly, Korac reluctantly agreed with Jarem.

"Something my mother said, Right is Might or something like that." Sarisa said

When the words Right is Might were spoken, her crystal glowed slightly.

"Maybe we have to say it toghether?" Jarem suggested

Korac shrugged and said,

"Its worth a shot"

"RIGHT IS MIGHT" The three youths said as one, and something miraculus occured.

The three crystals flew into the air, glowed almost blindingly, and then transformed into mystical lances of three colors, Red, Green and Blue.

The lances landed in the hands of the three stunned teenagers, and suddenly all three knew what they had to do.

Korac pointed his lance into the air.

"Ranger of the Burning Sun"

Crimson Flames flowed down from the tip of Korac's lance, engulfing his armor. As the flame moved, it changed Korac's armor into something altoghether different.

The Red Ranger emerged from his coccoon of flame.

His suit looked similar to his armor, having a star-shaped black visor. But his chest had a crystal-like, sun-shaped symbol inbeded in its center and reaching his shoulders.

"Ranger of the Solar Winds" Sarisa said, spinning her lance high overhead. A funnel of green wind formed and moved down from its origin, engulfing Sarisa.

In the girls place now stood a fully armored Green Power Ranger. Like Korac, she too had a Star shaped black visor, but her chest symbol was that of a neon green tornado that stretch from her right thigh to her left shoulder.

"Ranger of the Tides of Time" Jarem said, pointing his lance towards us.

Water materialized from the tip of Jarem's lance, then flowed towards Jarem, proceding to completely engulf him.

Like his teamates, the Blue Ranger also had a black, star-shaped visor, but he bore a violet infinity symbol proudly on his chest.

The three new Rangers looked at themselves, awe and wonder filling them.

Korac was the first to look up at the hestatating Skulldaggers.

"Ready guys?" Korac said

Jarem leapt into the air, lance in hand, and proceded to slash an entire row of Skulldaggers before they knew what hit them.

Landing, Jarem parried a scythe attack with his lance, and executed a leg sweep, knocking two Skulldaggers in front of him off their feet.

Three more Skulldaggers charged towards Jarem, but he was ready for them.

(Infinity Strike Sequence)

Jarem stood floating, with a black hole behind him. Taking his lance, Jarem drew a glowing blue infinity symbol in the air in front of him.

(End of Infinity Strike Sequence)

Jarem stood facing away from the three Skulldaggers, who fell down and exploded.

Sarisa slashed one Skulldagger across the chest, then ducked when another tried to slash her with it's scythe.

Another attempted to slam Sarisa with the business end of its fist, but Sarisa was to quick for it, and managed to dodge by sticking her lance into the ground and using it as a shield.

About ten Skulldaggers decided at that moment to gang up on Sarisa.

(Winds of Wrath sequence)

Sarisa began spinning her lance at ever increasing speeds, until a funnel of wind and energy streaked out from her weapon and slammed into the ten attacking Skulldaggers, vaporizing them.

(End of Winds of Wrath Sequence)

"That should take the wind out of their sails" Sarisa said.

Korac slashed one Skulldagger across the chest dianglnally to the left with his lance, turned, and slashed another in the opposite direction.

Two Skulldaggers then attempted to slash Korac while his back was turned, but were surprised to see Korac quickly turn and slam both of them with the blunt end of his weapon.

Two Skulldaggers remained, and Korac knew exactly how to defeat them

(Flame of the Ages sequance)

Korac stood silently in front of a flaming red giant star. Korac slowly raised his weapon and pointed it directly at us. Our view turns to the side, and Flames streak off of Korac's lance and slam directly into the last three Skulldaggers.

"Not bad Rangers, but can you defeat me?" Drakos said, flying onto the scene.

Korac ducked in time to avoid being clawed across the chest by the flying dragon monster.

Dracos turned around and flew back towards the Rangers for another strike.

As he approached the Rangers, Dracos sent a couple of fireballs from his claws streaking towards the Rangers.

The blasts missed, but served their intended purpose of throwing the Rangers offguard.

Continueing his flight towards the Rangers, Drakos slashed Jarem across the chest with his claws, but missed Sarisa and Korac.

"You okay Jarem?" Sarisa asked, helping Jarem to his feet.

"I will be once we clip this scaly bird's wings" Jarem said

"I second that" Korac chimed in

"Tough talk, but can you do it?" Drakos said, flying back towards the Rangers for another strike.

"Our powers are strong alone, but I have a feeling our scale bellied friend up there is not going to fall by one Ranger's attack alone" Jarem said

"Lets combine our attacks then" Sarisa said

The three Rangers pointed their lances at each other in a triangle formation, and then said the name of their unique attack.

"Flame of Ages!"
"Winds of Wrath!"
"Infinity Strike!"

"Delta Blast!" The three Rangers said toghether.

A glowing energy triangle materialized above the three Rangers, and then flew off towards the charging, and by now, horrified Drakos, vaporizing him.

"Good plan Jarem, for a millitary type that is" Korac said

"Thanks, I think" Jarem said.

An eerie silence stretched out after that moment, but was soon broken by Sarisa.

"We should go, Nefarius won't give up till we're dead and the Crystals are his"

"My Ship is this way, lets go!" Korac said, his form shifting back to normal

The three, now unmorphed, ran off in the direction Korac indecated.

The Grenade Ship....

"Drakos has been destroyed sir" Wormwood reported, downcast.

"NO!, That means they have unlocked the power of the crystals! They possess three of the five Starlances!" Count Nefarius yelled.

"Calm down master, we could always send more troops, they can't emerge victorious forever." Dremlin said

"You FOOLS! You don't get it do you? The prophecy says that ALL the Starlight Crystals have to be in the hands of the dark one before he will ascend to be the ruler of the universe." Count Nefarious yelled.

"They are leaving the planet mylord." Wormword said

"Wherever those three choose to run, we will find them, mark my words..."

The End.....For now..

PRS: Episode 3

"A History Lession"

The Ship hurtled threw the darkness of space, engine exhaust leaving a faint trail behind it....

Korac's ship was a G-Class Assault Blastboat, orginally designed by the Human Defense Forces as an anti-Aquatarian weapon, but quickly put to use after the Earth-Aquatar war against Earth's wayward colonies.

Such an act, 1000 years ago would be impossible, for at the time, the Earth, as well as much of the galaxy, was under the banner of the Galactic Allaince, and Earth's only problem was with wayward mutants.

But shortly after the turn of the 31st century, an Human-only movement began. Humanity's long buried racism and hatred had begun to resurface. First humans on Earth drove the non-humans living their offworld, then they used technology formerly used by the Time Force police to fashion ships and weapons of war.

Aquatar, Ziadra, Edenoi, Triforia and Eltar declared Earth no longer part of the Galactic Alliance for their heinious acts. Earth felt this was a declaration of war, and struck at Aquatarian colonie worlds in the Sol system.

After Sol was purged of non-humans, the Earth turned its attention towards its colonies. The war exists to this very day, however Earth has for the moment, kept to itself, after the Marinoi Defense fleet managed to drive off Earth forces.

"Fascinating little history lession Jarem" Korac said after Jarem's conclusion.

"Is that sarcasism or are you general interested in what I just said?" Jarem asked

The three teens were in the ship's lounge area, having spent days on the bridge fleeing from the forces of Count Nefarious.

"I hate to change the subject guys, but I think we should take the time to plan our strategy." Sarisa said

"It is quite obvious, somehow, we have got to get the other two crystals back, before he figures out how to use them" Korac said

"Impossible, even if he did figure out the command words to unlock their powers, he wouldn't be able to use them." Sarisa said

"Why not?" Jarem asked

"Only one pure of heart can receive the power of the Starlancers of old. Besides, my uncle does not desire to have the Gem's powers, he wants all of the crystals so he can destroy them, forefilling the prophecy." Sarisa said

"I keep hearing that, what exactly is this prophecy anyway?" Jarem asked

"One of the darkness, possessing all five, shall release the powers, of absolute darkness" Sarisa answered

"So basically, Count Nefarious wants to gather all the Starlight Crystals, and then destroy them, to gain these powers of absolute darkness or whatnot" Jarem said

"Yes, but thats another reason he wants us dead" Korac said

"Other than stealing the stones from our corpes I'm not sure what you mean" Jarem said

"In order to even touch the crystals we possess, their owners must be dead" Korac anwsered

"Sounds like you know alot about this prophecy to Korac" Jarem said

"I had a good teacher" Korac said, winking at Sarisa, who simply smiled

Meanwhile.....The Grenade Ship, somewhere in the depths of space.

"All traces of the Power Rangers have gone cold sire" Wormwood said

"What, you fool, are you even using all of our sensitive sensor systems I installed two days ago?" Dremloc said

"I wasn't talking to you" Wormwood said, ignoring the goblinlike Dremloc.

"This proves to me that chasing those three brats is the wrong strategy, luckily my strategic genius knows no limits, and I have already come up with a backup plan in cause something like this occured." Count Nefarious said confidentlly

"And what could your strategic mind accomplish that my skills in machinery couldn't?" Dremloc said, annoyed

That comment earned Dremloc a bolt of lightning to the chest, knocking the diminitive creature unconsious and sending him crashing to the floor in a smoking heap.

Count Nefarious snapped his fingers, and two Skulldaggers appeared.

"Drag Dremloc to the healing chamber." Count Nefarious said absent-minded-ly

"As I was saying, before I was so RUDELY interrupted, was that rather than chasing the rangers threw God-knows where, we get the Rangers to come to us!" Count Nefarious said, obviously pleased with his latest scheme

"How do we accomplish that master?" Wormwood said

"Easily, we attack a nearby planet, and the Rangers come to stop our evil." Count Nefarious said.

"We are near the planet Horus my lord, its a lv 2 colony world from Earth, should be easy pickings, as they have no space defenses of any kind." Wormwood said

"Set a course" Count Nefarious said

The world of Horus was a small colony world quickly abandoned as a resource world by Earth because of its prevailing desert-like climate. Their was only two human cities on the planet, and no millitary of any kind. No pirates saw any value in the planet.

Out of the blue skies of the planet, the citizenry never expected any threat to arrive, their world was small, and remote, which was its own defense. So they never expected to see Flying Skull-like ships descend on their world and begin blasted the two citys on the planet to rubble.

People ran in panic in both cities, not accustomed to the evil that had descended opon them

Luckily, the cities leadership managed to send a distress call to whoever was around to hear it...

Deep Space, Korac's Starship

Korac was back on the bridge. He was dressed in his usual cloths he wore when he wasn't inside his armor. He wore a red tank-top and red pants. He was enjoying the tranquility of deep space travel when the distress signal from Horus arrived.

(STATIC) "TO ANYWAY WHO IS OUT THERE, PLEASE HELP US, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK BY STRANGE SKULL-LIKE SHIPS AND ARE UNABLE TO DEFEND OURSELVES. PLEASE COME QUICK TO THE PLANET HORUS, PEOPLE ARE(STATIC)

Korac's face tensed in obvious anger

"Count Nefarious"

Training Room.....

Jarem practiced his ranger skills inside the Ship's Simideck chamber.

His Blue Ranger form leaped into the air of the Earth-like planet he had programed himself, narrowly dodging the attacks of the pre-programed Skulldaggers.

When the power suddenly cut off, ending the simulation and returning Jarem to reality, Jarem would have been confused, had his training not taught him that an emergency was likely brewing.

"Jarem and Sarisa, please come to the bridge, we've got trouble with a capital N" Korac said over the intercomm

Sarisa's Study....

Sarisa was quietly reading over the ancient records about Zords, and in particular, the ancient Starlight Vehicles, three powerful machines stronger than ten space fleets.

As she just discovered the location of these three powerful weapons of good, Korac's voice rang over the ship's comm system

"Jarem and Sarisa, please come to the bridge, we've got trouble with a capital N"

(Themesong)

Korac was decideing the fastest route to Horus when both Jarem and Sarisa arrived on the bridge.

"Trouble with a capital N?" Jarem said with a smile on his face

"N for Nefarious dummy, now sit down and I'll go over our mission" Korac said

"The nearby world of Horus is under attack by Skullfighters, Count Nefarious' answer to the Human Defense Fleet's starfighters." Korac said

"So thats what those blasted things are called" Jarem said

"As I was saying, since the ship is obviously no match for that kind of firepower, In cause something like this happened, I told Sarisa to research things that possible would be a match for the Skullfighters in combat." Korac said

"Who made you captain?" Jarem asked

"This in case you forgot, is MY ship Jarem" Korac said

"I was reading about the Zords fabled to have been used 1000 years ago by other Power Rangers against various dark forces. It seems the Ancient Starlancers of Marinus also possessed such vehicles. The Starlight Zord vehicles should have more than enough firepower to destroy the attacking Skullfighters with ease." Sarisa said

"So, where could we find these Zords?" Jarem asked

"Thats the strange thing, all three of them are inside an asteroid orbiting Horus" Sarisa said.

"How convenent" Korac said

The Ship slowed down from its current faster-than lightspeed as it entered proximity to the planet Horus.

Korac immediately picked up Skullfighters heading in their direction

"Brace yourselfs, we've got company!" Korac said

Korac's Red Blastboat weaved and rolled to avoid the Skullfighter's laser blasts, succeeding at first but rapidly realizing it was hopelessly outnumbered when fifthy or so Skullfighters heading towards them in a V-shaped formation.

"He's throwing everything he's got at us!" Korac said, carefully piloting the ship in between swarms of attacking Skullfighters.

"How close are we to the asteroid?" Sarisa asked

"2 Kilometers maybe" Korac said.

"Good, continue flying towards it" Sarisa said

"We'll crash, is that what you want" Korac said

"Just trust me" Sarisa said

Normally, trust wasn't in Korac's nature, but this time he felt reassured somehow

The Grenade Ship...

"Sir, the Rangers have crashed into a nearby asteroid." Wormwood said

"Tell the Skullfighters to search the area I want those crystals" Count Nefarious said

When the ship was about to crash into the asteroid, it insted rippled threw it, and gracefully landed inside a hangar bay packed with three other slightly larger vehicles.

"My friends, I give you, the Starlight Zords." Sarisa said

The Rangers left the bridge of the ship, exited it entirely, than gazed up in awe at the three powerful vehicles before them.

All three vehicles were ships of some sort, but their function seemed to be different from each other.

The Blue ship, was smaller than the other two, and looked something like a fighter analog. It was shaped like a sky-fighter used ages ago back on earth(A Blackbird spy-plane)

The Green ship, was a bulky, almost box-shaped ship with a strong looking hull. It looked like it could withstand an incredible amount of punishment.

The Red ship, was almost the exact opposite, rather than speed or defense, it's specialty seemed to lie in offense, due to the vast amounts of missile ports on its V-Shaped form.

"Alright guys, we know what they look like, lets see what they can due" Korac said

"Right is Might!" The three teens said.

The three crystals flew into the air, glowed almost blindingly, and then transformed into mystical lances of three colors, Red, Green and Blue.

The lances landed in the hands of the three teenagers.

Korac pointed his lance into the air.

"Ranger of the Burning Sun"

Crimson Flames flowed down from the tip of Korac's lance, engulfing him.

The Red Ranger emerged from his coccoon of flame.

"Ranger of the Solar Winds" Sarisa said, spinning her lance high overhead. A funnel of green wind formed and moved down from its origin, engulfing Sarisa.

In the girls place now stood a fully armored Green Power Ranger.

"Ranger of the Tides of Time" Jarem said, pointing his lance towards us.

Water materialized from the tip of Jarem's lance, then flowed towards Jarem, proceding to completely engulf him.

The Blue Ranger emerged, ready for battle.

Each Ranger boarded the vehicle that matched his or her color...

"Alright guys, no turning back now, ready?" Korac said

"I'm ready" Jarem said

"Lets do this" Sarisa said

The three Zords emerged from the asteroid, and blasted ten Skullfighters in their path to space-dust.

Count Nefarious' Granadeship

"Sir, the Rangers have emerged from the asteroid, in three ships insteed of one" Wormwood said

"NO! They have found the Starlight Zords! You fool! This changes everything. Tell the Skullfighters to break up their attack." Count Nefarious said

Wormwood pressed a few buttons, and the Skullfighters around the asteroid and in the nearby planet's atmosphere retreated to the safety of the Grenadeship.

"Send Gargantua to the planet below, not even the Ranger's weapons could possibly penetrate his hide." Count Nafarious said.

"At once master" Wormwood said

A pod was launched from the Grenadeship's missile port. This pod, unlike the ones used to transport Skulldaggers, was green in color, and slightly larger.

Jarem picked it up first using her ship's advanced sensors.

"Guys, the Skullfighters are retreating, but something is heading for the Planet, looks like a pod or something." Jarem said

"A space mutant pod, we better follow it." Sarisa said

The pod slammed threw the planet's atmosphere, crashed to the ground below, and an explosion occured.

Out of these flames emerged a terrififing reptilian monster that looked like a cross between a turtle, a man, and an iguana.

"I LIVE!" The monster screamed in an earth-shaking voice.

"Offensive action, let that thing have it before he enters the nearest city." Korac said

Jarem streaked ahead, using his ship's vast speed. He then proceeding to fly circles around Gargantua, blasting him with lasers occasionly during each pass. The monster either ignored Jarem's attack, or didn't care, and continued to walk towards the nearby human settlement.

"I'm breaking off, my ship's firepower is obviously no match for that thing's thick armor." Jarem said.

Korac locked onto the monster's position, and then launched several volleys of missiles at the creature.

Where the monster ignored Jarem's attack, it obviously didn't ignore Korac's as it, angrily looked up into the sky at whoever dared challenge it.

"WHO DARES ATTACK GARGANTUA!" The beast roared.

"I do!" Korac said launching several more missiles into the beast's scaly hide.

"INSOLOLANT DOG!" Gargantua roared, then fired a beam of super-hot radiation in Korac's direction

Sarisa carefully flew her craft in front of Korac's and took the blast for him.

"Sarisa, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Korac screamed

"Relax, only light damage" Sarisa said.

Korac breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that Sarisa's ship had taken almost no damage from the blast.

"My ship was designed to be a shield, rest easy" Sarisa said

"I thought I lost you" Korac said softly

"Don't get all mushy on me now, we've got a battle to win." Sarisa said

"I don't mean to be rude guys, but our attacks only seem to be annoying that thing." Jarem said

Korac paused for amoment, then realized that Jarem was correct.

"Sarisa, have you got anything we can use?" Korac asked

"Yes, the Zords have a secondary mode, according to the ancient records, the transformation controls should be below the throttlestick." Sarisa said

"I see it, now what" Korac asked

"Turn it" Sarisa said

"Alright, now what?" Jarem asked

His question was answer for him, as the three ships began to change shape in mid-air.

Jarem's Zord split down the middle, changing into two sections which resembled arms, these two sections connected with Korac's zord, which seemingly hadn't changed at all.

Sarisa's zord unfolded, becoming legs, feet, and abdomen, and then connected to Korac's zord.

"Something is still missing" Sarisa said from her Zord's cockpit.

"Wait, I've got an idea" Korac said, then pressed a few buttons on his Zord's controls.

From inside the asteroid, Korac's ship emerged, flew towards the planet, entered the atmosphere, and connect to the top section of Korac's Zord. The small ship then changed shape, its front half sliding up, while its back half slide behind Korac's Zord. Clearly, a robotic head had been formed.

"Starlancer Megazord, power up!" All three Teens said toghether.

The Megazord landed on the ground in front of the monsterious Gargantua, and then struck a dynamic battle stanch.

Gargantia paused at this new threat, then charged, claws outstretched

The Megazord jeted into the air and landed behind the monster.

Gargantia turned around and charged again.

This time the Megazord struck the charging monster with a robotic uppercut, jetted into the air, and landed a fierce kick to the monster's chest.

The combo attack sent the monster flying backwards, where it crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

"That showed him" Jarem said

Then the monster got back up, anger evidant in its savage eyes, and blasted the Starlancer Megazord with a beam of radiation.

The Megazord stumbled backwards from the attack, but Gargantua clearly wasn't finished, as it reached to its back, and pulled off two spikes, charged the stunned Megazord, and slashed it twice across the chest, once with each hand.

The Megazord stumbled backwards once more.

"None of our attacks seem to do anything but anger that thing," Jarem remarked

"Then its time we summon the Starlancer Megazord's ultimate weapon, the Starlance." Sarisa said

The Megazord held out its left hand, and a mystical lance materialized. The Megazord then struck a dynamic fighting pose, a galaxy of stars behind it as it did so.

Gargantua charged for another spike attack, but found its weapon's parried by the Megazord's lance, a far superior weapon which caused the spikes to shatter on impact.

The monster looked stuned, then angry, and then it once again charged the Megazord.

"Lets end this"

(Starlance Crosscut sequence)

The Megazord stood with a trio of suns behind it, one green, one blue, and one red. The Megazord then twirled its Lance high above its head, and slashed dianglenally to the right

(End of Starlance Crosscut sequence)

The strike hit home. A stunned Gargantua stumbled, and fell to the ground in a spectacular explosion.

The Megazord posed, facing away from the explosion...

The populace, seeing their world saved, rejoiced, but were somewhat saddened when their saviors left.

Count Nefarious on the otherhand, was not pleased.........

"Sir, I can explain" Wormwood said fearfully

"Not only have those kids managed to steal three of MY crystals, but now they have Zords as well. I need someone to be a scapegoat, and that someone is you Wormwood, now get out of my sight, or you'll join Dremloc in the healing chamber" Count Nefarious said.

"As you command"

The Starlance Asteroid.......

The Rangers marveled at the victory they had just won..but one question begged to be asked...

"So Korac, how did you figure your ship was capable with the Starlight Zords? That was ingenious" Jarem said

"I remember your history lession from this morning. I figured that if Earth's spaceships were based off the Zords used by the ancient Time Force organization than it would be capable with the Zords." Korac said

"You know what they say, if you don't know your history your doomed to repeat it." Sarisa said

"In this case, if you do know history, you'll WANT to repeat it" Korac said

The three teens laughed..And our view speeds rapidly away from them, until we see only the asteroid they are in, as well as the planet they had just saved from disaster.

The End
