File 2: 5-4-1

The MEGARANGER 2004 logo explodes onto the screen, followed by the theme song "Install! Megaranger" by Naoto Fuuga.


Computer: voice: 13, 12, 11, 10, 9,
Red: Brace yourselves guys!
Computer voice: 5, 4, 3, 2,
Pink: We're going!
Computer voice: 1, lift off!

The shuttle is lifted off the ground. Meanwhile, Mega Silver is still being pursued by Dark Lord, although he is quite sure that he would not be pursued anymore.

Silver: Great going guys!
Red: Thanks! Now for some serious business to take care of. Doc, how do we form the Galaxy Mega?
Falken: Code 5-4-1 Enter!
Red: 5-4-1 Enter? All right..

He flips open the cover on the Digitizer, and presses the keys.

Digitized voice: 5, 4, 1.
Red: INSTALL!

He presses 'Enter'. The digital chiming of the 'Enter' button starts up.

Red: Denji Gattai, Galaxy Mega!
Black: Now what's that supposed to mean?
Red: I'll tell you later.

The Mega Shuttle makes a curve around the Megaship. The side decks of the Megaship extend out and separate away from the main body. The side decks rotate to become the legs. The thrusters/cargo bay move out to connect to where the side deck is supposed to be, and transform into the arms. The front of the Mega Shuttle opens up and reveals the head of Galaxy Mega. The Mega Shuttle connects to the main body. The yellow eyes of the robot flash brightly as the rangers are shown in the cockpit above.

Megarangers: Galaxy Mega, online!

Dr. Falken watches from the bridge of the Megaship/Galaxy Mega
Falken: Yes! They've done it!

Silver: Great job guys! So this is the Galaxy Mega!

He salutes to his team-mates and then slides away into the Megaship.

Red: Thanks, Fai. It's time to finish this ass!
Dark Lord: Hah! This clunk of metal doesn't scare me!
Blue: We'll see about that!
Dark Lord: Arr! Dark Sword!
Red: Mega Sword!

Both adversaries face each other, ready to battle. Fairul enters the bridge, morphed but helmetless.

Fairul: The great space battle has begun, and
Falken: What?
Fairul: When am I gonna get my own Zord?
He strikes a sheepish grin.


Outside, Dark Lord slashes the chest of the Galaxy Mega. The cockpit shakes violently as sparks fly.

Megarangers: Ugh!

The inside of the ship suffers a tremor and Alpha falls to the ground. Fairul helps him up.

Fairul: Whoa, easy there little guy.
Alpha: Thanks Fairul.
Falken: DECA assess the damage.
DECA: Remaining power 75%.

Back in the cockpit,
Pink: 75% power level. According to DECA, we need to finish him off fast, or else there would not be sufficient power once we go below 50%.
Red: All right then. How do we do it?
Yellow: Good question. How?
Black: I'm sure it's done with the sword.
Blue: Look out guys!
Dark Lord smashes the head of the Galaxy Mega. The cockpit rocks once again, as sparks fly from more circuit boards.
Red: Aw man!
Pink: Power level 60%! Once we're below 50% there's no hope of finishing him!
Black: Shit.
Yellow: Let's finish him quick!
Red: All right, We'll take this chance. Mega Sword! Energize!


The Mega Sword glows a faint yellow as smoke rises from the right hand of the Galaxy Mega. The Mega Shield appears in the left hand.

Blue: Thrusters to full power!

The thrusters at the feet of the Galaxy Mega fire up. The Galaxy Mega thrusts towards Dark Lord.

Dark Lord: Huh? What the?

He prepares his saber as the Galaxy Mega approaches him at high speed. He swings his saber but the energized Mega Sword easily breaks it into half.

Red: Strike!

The energized Mega Sword slashes Dark Lord once and continues moving forward, until it is about 50m away from the monster. Dark Lord explodes behind the Galaxy Mega.


Fairul: Woohoo! They did it! Yeah!

He tries to high five with Alpha. Alpha does not know what that is.

Fairul: Err.. it's called a high five. You raise your hand and pat mine like this.

He demonstrates a high five.

Fairul: All right?
Alpha: Yup.
Fairul: Gimme a high five man!

They high five each other. Meanwhile, the others, morphed but helmetless, enter the bridge.

Rose: Wow, what a feeling that was!
Zulfah: Yeah! I'd love to do that again.
Basil: Hey, bro. Can you do that? Haha.

He slaps hands with Fairul.

Fairul: Soon. You see, Doc promised me a Zord.
Zulkiflee: Haha, it was cool sitting in a Megazord.
Weijie: Yeah, just like the Power Rangers did way back in 1995.
Falken: Good job there rangers. But it is not the end, Psi will be back. He never gives up, until he is stopped.


The next evening after school, the rangers are at Basil's house eating potato chips when a documentary comes on TV.

Presenter: The Megarangers! Who are they? We bring you this special documentary on the newest heroes to hit our shores!
Fairul: This looks interesting.
Weijie: Yeah.
Presenter: Who exactly are the Megarangers? Some people say that they are actually the legendary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in a new form.

Zulfah: Wow. People actually think we're the Power Rangers?
Presenter: Others say that they are aliens who have come to protect the Earth.
Basil: Aliens? Woahaha! Wacky brother!
Zulkiflee: Man, this documentary is rubbish.
Presenter: But former White Ranger Tommy Oliver has denied being part of the Megarangers.
Tommy: We don't really know who they are. We're not them. We're retired. But I think that the Megarangers are here for a good reason.
Presenter: That's all Tommy has to say about the Megarangers.

Weijie: That was all the legend had to say about us?
Basil: That's little I know.
Rose: Never mind! We can do better as we go by! Right Fairul?
Fairul: Yeah guys. She's right. By the way, we're still a new team.
Zulkiflee: Man, I guess you're right.
Basil: Okay, okay. Let's continue the show, man we've missed a few parts!

Presenter: And now let's view the public's opinion on these new heroes.

The presenter on TV approaches a group of schoolboys.

Boy #1: They're our heroes!
Boy #2: Yeah! The Megarangers rock!
Boys: Yeah! Yeah! Megaranger!
Presenter: Err... thank you boys.
Fairul: Man, noisy kids hahaha.

He approaches a middle-aged woman.

Woman: They are so violent, can't they find a better way to solve problems instead of fighting?
Zulfah: What only! She's so ungrateful you know!
Basil: Yah, yah, relax Zulfah, relax.

The rest laugh as the show continues.


A few hours later, at around 8pm, they head for home. Fairul cycles home with Rose back to Bedok North since they live near each other. Zulkiflee, although he lives near Fairul and Rose, goes to Bedok Interchange to hang around at the arcade with some other friends. Weijie goes home to Bedok Reservoir, leaving Zulfah, who lives near Basil.

Zulfah: Basil send me home?
Basil: Hey uh, you wanna get some food or something like that?
Zulfah: Sure, anything.


After their dinner, Basil walks Zulfah home.

Basil: Have you prepared for your exams?
Zulfah: Yah! Of course, it's my first exam in school.
Basil: Good, good, little sis....
Zulfah: Yeah, BIG brother.

They are just taking the shortcut into the community centre when suddenly they hear a woman screaming.

Zulfah: Erh! What was that? So scary!
Woman: Thief!
Basil: I'll go help her!
Zulfah: What about me?
Basil: Stay here if you're scared, follow if you want to.

He runs to find out the problem but as he reaches the scene of the crime he sees policemen from the nearby police post apprehending the snatch thief.

Zulfah: Well, looks like you were a little bit too slow this time.
Basil: Nobody's perfect right?
Zulfah: All right all right.

He sees her home and then rushes back to his own home.


On Friday, it is the last day of term 3, and the rangers are attending their classes. Basil and Weijie are having Chinese lesson, Zulkiflee is having Malay lesson, Zulfah and Rose are having Maths while Fairul is busy with his Physics as his practical prelims are near. Suddenly their Digitizers (or Keitaizer) beep.

Basil: Oh shit.

Weijie looks at him. They nod to each other and quickly get an exit-pass from their Chinese teacher. They dash into the toilet to communicate with Alpha.

Basil: So what's wrong Alpha?
Alpha: Emperor Psi has sent Torch Tiger and a group of Quantrons to Jurong East Interchange and MRT Station.
Weijie: Damn it.... Have you contacted the others?
Alpha: Negative, none of them seems to be answering.

Zulkiflee is making noise with his friends, and cannot hear the Digitizer beeping. Rose and Fairul are having tests, and their bags are outside of their respective classrooms, while Zulfah is in the computer lab, without her bag. Shots of the Digitizer and Keitaizer beeping inside the other 4 rangers' bags are shown. Basil ends the transmission with Alpha and turns to Weijie.

Basil: Guess it's just you and me this time bro. Let's do it.
Weijie: All right...

Both of them strap on their Digitizers.

Both: Let's rocket!

They flip open the covers to the buttons of the Digitizers and press the code "3-3-5 Enter". Both Red and Black morph sequences are shown.


They appear teleported to the battle scene. People are screaming and running away as Torch Tiger sets fire to some rubbish bins and the Quantrons wreck the shops underneath the MRT Station. They do not notice the two Megarangers appearing.

Black: Shit, they're heading for the Popular!
Red: And look there's a lot of fire. Man what the hell...

They hear sirens in the distance.

Black: Good Civil Defence's here. Now let's go get those bastards.
Red: All right, come on.

They both run after the monsters.

Red: Hey dickhead. Stop right there will ya?
Torch Tiger: Huh?

The monster and his Quantrons turn around to see the two Megarangers.

Black: If you think you're hot, this is the wrong place to be, cause we're hotter than you.
Torch Tiger: Grr.... Nobody speaks to me that way! Quantrons attack!

The Quantrons dash forward, some with their spear-like weapons.

Red: Weijie.
Black: Yeah?

Mega Black turns to him.

Red: Darn you.

Weijie smiles underneath his helmet as they both rush forward to fight the bunch of Quantrons. A Quantron tries to swipe Mega Black from the back. Luckily he does a backflip in time to avoid the attack. This is followed by a flying kick from Mega Red onto that Quantron, causing it to hit one other Quantron nearby. Mega Red helps Mega Black to recover.

Black: Thanks buddy.
Red: Don't mention it.

Mega Black gets up.

Black: Don't mention, what?
Red: Huh?

He notices that Mega Black is looking around them. He turns to look, and turns around again. About 30 Quantrons are surrounding them.

Red: Oh my God. That is too many.
Black: Told you so.
Red: Man, I need a vacation.

Narrator: Basil and Weijie are outnumbered against Torch Tiger and his Quantrons. Where are the other Megarangers? Find out on the next episode of MEGARANGER 2004.

The ending theme "CHI-KA-RA-2000 ~ Waranai Mirai ni Tame ni ~" by NAT's plays as the ending credits roll on a black screen.

File 3: Game

The MEGARANGER 2004 logo explodes onto the screen, followed by the theme song "Install! Megaranger" by Naoto Fuuga.

A flying kick from Mega Red a Quantron, causes it to hit one other Quantron nearby. Mega Red helps Mega Black to recover.

Black: Thanks buddy.
Red: Don't mention it.

Mega Black gets up.

Black: Don't mention, what?
Red: Huh?

He notices that Mega Black is looking around them. He turns to look, and turns around again. About 30 Quantrons are surrounding them.

Red: Oh my God. That is too many.
Black: Told you so.
Red: Man, I need a vacation.

He looks at the number of Quantrons facing them.

Red: Let's do it!
Black: Right on!

Mega Red and Mega Black start attacking the Quantrons with more force and skill than ever. But there are just too many Quantrons! The screen fades.

Torch Tiger: I shall spare you for now, for I want to destroy ALL SIX MEGARANGERS AT ONE TIME!!

He disappears in a ball of flame. The group of Quantrons also disappear. Both of the rangers run forward a little. Mega Red wipes his hands.

Red: Coward. We were just about to kick his bloody...
Black: Ass! Yeah, we'd better get back before anyone gets suspicious.


Back at the school toilet, Basil and Weijie have just materialized back from their teleportation, they appear slightly injured.

Basil: All right, now we've been gone for, 20 minutes. That's going to get our heads rolled.
Weijie: Quickly think of a plan!
Basil: I've got it!

He whispers his plan to Weijie. A while later, they both get out of the toilet laughing maniacally.


Later at around 3.30pm, the rangers meet up again at the Megaship with the exception of Zulkiflee. Dr. Falken is not around at the moment. They sit at the round table in the infirmary.

Basil: All right guys, just now, Weijie and I encountered a monster called Torch Tiger during the last period. Strange that you guys did not hear your Digitizers beeping.
Weijie: Yeah man, lucky he spared us, or else...
Basil: We would have been dead. There were too many Quantrons!
Fairul: Shit man, I was having at test at that moment.
Rose: Yeah me too.
Zulfah: I was at the computer lab! My bag was in class...

Weijie: Okay guys, so now we have that settled... For Bas and I, we were lucky about just now. But the guy says he's gonna kill us all together.
Fairul: Jurong? Woah, that's far... Man, I still got tuition later at 4.30, don't know if I can stay around longer. Probably I would stay until 4.25, then I teleport down to somewhere near my tuition place.
Basil: That's okay with us, you've got O Levels this year, and we ain't got no right to stop you from it.

Rose: Yeah, what he say is right, you got exams.
Weijie: HEY....
Basil: I know.
Basil and Weijie: Anyone seen Zul?
Zulfah: Here!
Rose: Not you lah! Kiwi!

Coincidentally, Zulkiflee walks into the infirmary, holding a familiar-looking poster.

Fairul, Basil and Weijie: ZUL......
Zulkiflee: What?
Fairul: Where the hell were you man?
Zulkiflee: At the arcade.
Basil: Chill. Ain't that us?
Weijie: Megaranger, The Video Game? What the?

They all look at the poster he is holding. True enough, it has a picture of all the six Megarangers on it, striking their battle poses.

Zulkiflee: Yeah they are us. I noticed it at the arcade and secretly tore the poster away. The game's set for release tomorrow!
Basil: Right. Fairul and I will definitely try it out to see if it isn't a plot by Psi.
Fairul: Truly. We'll check it out tomorrow
Rose: Look carefully, those are computer generated images.
Zulfah: You're right. And it actually says here that the game is 3D.
Basil: 3D?


The next day, Mega Red battles Mega Silver upon an environment which is a blue background with yellow square-netting. The guitar solo of "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses is heard in the background as a song played in the arcade.

Voice: Woo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basil and Fairul are duelling it out on the newly-released Megaranger game, being watched by ten to twenty kids as they have been playing for about half an hour without a winner.

Fairul: You can't beat me man!
Basil: Oh yes I can.

Both of them are controlling their respective colours - red and silver. The game is indeed 3D, as there is a horizontal screen in the centre and the controllers are at both sides of the horizontal screen. "Mega Silver" jumps up and kicks "Mega Red" from behind, then uses the "Silver Blazer" to slash him from the back. Basil watches as his HP decreases to 0.

Basil: Aww man!
He slams the controls.
Fairul: Haha, let's go man.

They get out of the arcade, where they proceed to meet the rest at a McDonald's, since it is a Saturday.


Fairul: That was cool.
Basil: Man, that was one kickass game I'd die for.
Weijie: Yeah, yeah, being a real Megaranger is the real game.
Zulfah: Shh! Why did you say that so loud? Later people hear how?
Zulkiflee: Relax lah.... anyway, the game sounds cool. I might want to try it out later or something.
Basil: Yeah, but careful. It's a little addictive.
Weijie: Haha, don't get too addicted until you neglect your schoolwork.
Rose: Fairul, can you buy for me an ice-cream cone?
Fairul: Sure.

He goes to the counter. While he is queuing up, his Keitaizer beeps. He answers it in the queue. The people around him just think it is a mobile phone.

Fairul: So what's up?
Alpha: Torch Tiger has reappeared. Its location is about 50m north from where you are now.
Fairul: We'll go.

He goes out of the queue and back to the rest.

Fairul: Call from Alpha. Let's go.

They nod to each other and head out of the restaurant, following Fairul's lead. The six teens end up in the central of the interchange, where Torch Tiger, alone, has set some shops and people on fire. Chaos is everywhere, people are screaming to get away and some are rolling on the floor, burnt.

Basil: Woah, smokin' brother.
Weijie: Yeah, it's this tiger waiting to be poached.
Torch Tiger: Shut up you puny human!
Basil: Like, we're so scared... Ready guys?
All: Let's rocket!

They flip open the covers to the buttons of the Digitizers and press the code "3-3-5 Enter". Fairul presses code 2-5-8-0 on the Keitaizer. Red and Silver morphs are shown.

Red: Denji Sentai...
All: Megaranger!

Torch Tiger: So, the cowardly Mega Red and Black have brought reinforcements? Too bad they don't scare me!
Red: Shut up you bastard.. We'll see about that.
Silver: Let's go guys!

They draw their weapons.

Red: Drill Saber!
Black: Lunar Lance!
Blue: Astro Axe!
Yellow: Star Slinger!
Pink: Satellite Stunner!
Silver: Silver Blazer!

They attack Torch Tiger one by one. But Torch Tiger manages to fend them off with his fire blazes, which force the Megarangers' suits to spark. The six Megarangers lie on the ground, defeated, literally.

Torch Tiger: Hahaha! I have beaten you... Do you wish to further punishment for your sin? Or do you wish to give up and let me gain control of this dimension?
Red: No... we can't give up like that! It's the whole dimension at stake here...
Black: Yeah.... we cannot give our dimension up to these... imbeciles.....
Torch Tiger: What did you say?

He goes over to Mega Black and kicks him.

Black: Gaah!

He flies back and crashes into the glass panel of a nearby shop. The other rangers watch in horror..

Blue: Weijie!
Pink: No!
Yellow: We have to stop this guy! Now!
Red: Damn it......
Silver: No, Bas, wait!

Too late, Mega Red has got back up on his feet and attempted to punch Torch Tiger in the nose. But the ferocious tiger grabs his fist and throws him over.

Red: Aaargh!

He lands on his back, groaning in pain...

Pink: Oh no....the big guys are out.
Torch Tiger: Hahaha! I'm invincible!
Silver: Guys... I've got an idea...
Yellow: What?
Silver: All you three need to do is to distract him... I'll do what I am thinking of doing.
Blue: Right, let's go girls..
Yellow: Right.
Pink: On my way.

They run up to Torch Tiger while Mega Silver disappears.

Blue: Hey you asshole.. Look over here!
Torch Tiger: Huh?
Yellow: You think you're tough? Well think again!
Pink: Cause we're here to stop you!
Torch Tiger: You don't scare me!

The three run towards Torch Tiger and grab him. Behind him, Mega Silver gets ready to attack with his Silver Blazer. Mega Red and Mega Black regroup together, but they do not do anything, just watch what Fairul is trying to do.

Black: What's he doing?
Red: I know what he's thinking... Just wait and see. It's gonna be good.

Mega Silver starts running towards Torch Tiger's back. He jumps and somersaults in the air.

Silver: Guys, go!

Mega Blue, Mega Yellow and Mega Pink break free from Torch Tiger, just as the Tiger turns around just in time for Mega Silver's left foot to come into contact with his face. Mega Silver then kicks Torch Tiger a second time with his right foot.

Silver: Blazing slash!

He slashes Torch Tiger from the behind, just like in the video game he played earlier.

Red: Drill Saber!
Blue: Astro Axe!

They both jump high up and hit Torch Tiger. Mega Red strikes Torch Tiger with the Drill Saber. The ferocious tiger falls to the ground and explodes. Mega Silver, Mega Red and Mega Blue turn around and strike a stance in front of the explosions. But Mega Silver's suit flashes in and out of Fairul.

Black: What the?
Silver: What's happening man?
Dr. Falken: Good job rangers! Basil, I have a new weapon for you. Fairul I will analyse your powers when you guys return to the Megaship.
Red: You got it doc. Come on guys, let's go celebrate. Teleport!

They teleport away as the people who were hiding come out and applaud the Megarangers.


Narrator: The Megarangers have proven themselves to the general public. How has Dr. Falken enhanced Mega Red's powers further? Why did Mega Silver show signs of demorphing after the battle? Find out on the next episode of MEGARANGER 2004!

File 4: Battlized


Red: Drill Saber!
Blue: Astro Axe!

Black: What the?
Silver: What's happening man?
Dr. Falken: Good job rangers! Basil, I have a new weapon for you. Fairul I will analyse your powers when you guys return to the Megaship.
Red: You got it doc. Come on guys, let's go celebrate. Teleport!

In the Megaship's combined leisure room, the teens are relaxing after a long hard battle. Basil and Weijie are playing pool. Fairul is studying for his Geography test, Zulkiflee is watching the pool game and Rose and Zulfah are watching the latest soap opera on TV.

DECA: Megarangers please report to the briefing room. Meeting in 15 minutes.
Fairul: Guess that's a call.

He stuffs his book aside and heads out of the leisure room. The rest follow suit.

Basil heads to his apartment. He slides the key card into the slot. The door slides open with a hissing sound. He enters the dark apartment and turns on some dim lights. The apartment appears to be very large, having two floors, but also very well-maintained.

There is one large round-shaped window, in which the deep space outside the ship can be seen. On the first floor, there is a living area, with entertainment facilities and a kitchen with dining area.

There is also an aluminium spiral staircase which goes up to the second floor, where the sleeping quarters, bathroom and study areas are located. The door closes behind him, as he removes his Digitizer from his wrist and places the it on top of his coffee table.

Basil: Wonder what Dr. Falken has for me.

He goes up to the second floor and comes back down in a different red T-shirt. Then he gets his Digitizer and exits the room.


At the briefing room, Dr. Falken has prepared a holographic projector with the help of Alpha. The rangers enter the room and take a seat at the semi-rounded table.

Dr. Falken: Well then, is everyone here?
Fairul: Well I'm here.
Basil: Roger that.
Weijie: Check.
Zulkiflee: Yup.
Rose: Yeah.
Zulfah: Uh-huh.
Dr. Falken: Good. I'm glad that you are all on time. Today I'll touch on three topics. First, about why Fairul half-demorphed just now, second, the Megaranger video game, and third, new things I have in store for you guys. DECA, turn off the lights.
DECA: Affirmative.

The lights in the room are turned off. The holographic projector works up, brightening the room a little, and the 'M' logo is shown on the hologram. The image changes to a computer-generated 3D picture of Mega Silver rotating in all ways.

Dr. Falken: I was a bit confused about Fairul's sudden lack of power just now. But with the help of Alpha and some analysing of his morpher, I have concluded that the Mega Silver powers can only be used up till a certain extent. That is, if his power usage exceeds a certain level, which is 500,000V, his power would be completely exhausted, causing him to demorph completely, and he will not be able to morph anymore.

Basil: What? Then what about just now?
Dr. Falken: Just now, he reached 480,000V, which is in the critical stage.
Zulkiflee: Then what about the rest of....
Dr. Falken: The rest of you need not worry. Your powers are very stable and can be used to any voltage. The reason why Mega Silver's powers are limited is because it was meant as a prototype for your current suits.
Fairul: So if that is the case... How can I restructure my voltage to be the same as the others.
Dr. Falken: That is possible. But it is a very dangerous thing to do.
Fairul: Just tell me what to do.

Dr. Falken: You have to locate the highest point on Earth where a very heavy thunderstorm is taking place. You must be able to conduct lightning into your morpher, and in turn your power voltage would be restructured to be standard with the rest.
Basil: Damn that's dangerous. You sure you wanna do it?
Fairul: Have to try. It's worth the risk by the way.
Dr. Falken: Okay, now we have that settled. It's the Megaranger video game.

Zulkiflee smiles at the mention of the game.

Dr. Falken: Yes I know you discovered it Zul. But this matter is a little bit serious.
Rose: What is it doctor?
Dr. Falken: The Megaranger video game was created by me.
All: WHAT?
Dr. Falken: Yes it was. I purposely used a free-hand control system and a 3D hologram so that I can assess the fighting moves used by people all around the world. Then it would be easier for you guys to know how a particular fighting move is done.

Fairul: I see. Just like the incident just now with the Silver Blazer.
Dr. Falken: That is correct. In addition, the fighting moves used in the game can be programmed into the microchip in Mega Silver's helmet and the computer in Mega Red's helmet. But they are ultimately stored on the Megaship's database. That is all I have to say about the game.

Weijie: Then what is the third aspect of today's meeting?

He opens a small case to reveal a morpher, and opens another larger case to reveal six jackets, five of them grey and the sixth one black. Inside the uniforms there are t-shirts which correspond to their colours, black leather belts with silver buckles and trousers which correspond to their jacket colour.

Dr. Falken: These, are your Megaship uniforms. You cannot wear these in public but you may do so on the Megaship. Hope you guys like it. Alpha designed it for you.
Rose: They are so cool!
Zulfah: Yeah!
Dr. Falken: Thank Alpha for it.
Rose: Thanks Alpha!

She hugs Alpha.

Alpha: You're welcome Rose.
Fairul: And what's that morpher in the smaller case?
Dr. Falken: That is no morpher. It is the Battlizer, meant for use with the Mega Red powers.
Basil: Wow, cool, so that's the new weapon.

Dr. Falken picks up the Battlizer and opens the cover to reveal the number pad, which consists of 3 buttons numbered 01, 02 and 03.

Basil: What do those do?
Dr. Falken: 01 is the Battlized Power Punch, 02 is the Battlized Power Chop, and 03 has no current configurations although I am building something to complement 03. So pressing 03 at any time would be ultimately a power surge because there would be too much power flowing through the Battlizer.

He passes the Battlizer to Basil.

Dr. Falken: Strap it to your right hand, where you aren't wearing the Digitizer.
Basil puts on the Battlizer.
Basil: I see... so it's like that. Thanks doc.
Fairul: Cool, you got a new weapon.
Weijie: Can't wait to see what's in store for Psi's forces.


At Emperor Psi's secret dimensional hideout, they have been spying on the conversations in the Megaship.

Psi: So... Mega Silver's powers are limited to 500,000V... That IS good news for us.
Ecliptor: We have an obvious advantage. If we just overload Mega Silver, he would never be able to transform again. And that would be one ranger down.

A shrill, eerie, evil female laugh is heard.

Male voice: That would be good news would it?

Ecliptor and Psi look to where the voices are coming. There are two shadows, one male one female.

Psi: Who dares trespass?
Male voice: My lord, it's just us.
They step forward to reveal themselves.
Psi: Ahh... Shebreeza and Darkonda. So you have finally came.

Ecliptor growls at the sight of Darkonda.

Darkonda: How are you, old friend Ecliptor?
Ecliptor: Grr!

Ecliptor tries to pull his sword out.

Shebreeza: Relax Ecliptor darling. You don't want to lose another team-mate do you?
Darkonda: She's right green boy. But I've got nine lives, destroying one won't make a difference at all! But I'd rather lose my pride to great lord Psi.
Psi: How flattering.... Now let's devise a plan to defeat Mega Silver.
Darkonda: Defeat? Why not destroy?

The four bad guys break out in maniacal laughter.


The Megarangers, dressed in their new Megaship uniforms, meet in the bridge.

Basil: Wow Fai, you look great sia... Black uniform.
Fairul: Nah... just ordinary lah... you guys all look cool in grey.
Rose: Mmm! I love the uniforms!
Zulfah: Me too! They're so wonderful!
Weijie: Comfortable too. Now we all look the same. Haha.
Zulkiflee: You can say that again.

Suddenly the alarm sounds.

DECA: Rangers, Darkonda and Shebreeza are attacking the city. Video loading now.

A muted live video of an exclusive news broadcast comes up onto the screen. Darkonda and Shebreeza are shooting lasers and fireballs everywhere, and the Quantrons are chasing people away.

Fairul: Shebree who?
Alpha: Aiyaiyaiyaiyai! Shebreeza and Darkonda are two of Emperor Psi's fiercest warriors!
Basil: Fierce eh.... let's see who's fiercer... Come on guys, let's move it!

Basil, Weijie, Zulkiflee, Rose and Zulfah run to the jump tubes. Fairul goes to the hangar on Mega Deck 1.

All: Let's rocket!

They turn and slide into their respective-coloured tubes. In the hangar, Mega Silver jumps onto his hovering Auto Slider.

Silver: DECA, open Deck 1 hangar doors.
DECA: Opening.

The view from Mega Silver's visor, as Fairul would be seeing it, is shown as the hangar doors open.

Silver: Here we go!

The Auto Slider shoots out of the hangar and into space. All six gliders are shown heading towards Earth from the behind.


Darkonda and Shebreeza are terrorizing a crowded street. People are screaming, running around in fear as Shebreeza hurls cars at the masses of people. Fire and destruction is everywhere. Suddenly six coloured streaks of lightning thunder down from the sky and hit onto the ground, causing a slight impact.

Kid: It's the Megarangers!!!

The crowd stops running away and starts cheering for their heroes. Each ranger strikes his/her respective pose.

Red: Mega Red!
Black: Mega Black!
Blue: Mega Blue!
Yellow: Mega Yellow!
Pink: Mega Pink!
Silver: Mega Silver!
Red: Denji Sentai,
All: Megaranger!

Darkonda: So the heroes, the Megarangers have arrived! Time to play! Quantrons attack!
Silver: You guys take the Quantrons, I'll get Darkonda, Bas you get Shebreeza.
Red: No problem, just don't tell Rinna I've been flirting with another girl.
Black: Haha, let's go guys!
Silver: Silver Blazer!
Red: Drill Saber! Hey bro.
Silver: What?
Red: Don't forget your power limit.
Silver: I won't. Haha.

They both run toward their respective opponents.

Silver: Darkonda, you're mine!
Darkonda: We'll see about that!

The MEGARANGER 2004 logo explodes onto the screen, followed by the theme song "Install! Megaranger" by Naoto Fuuga.


Mega Red and Mega Silver both run toward their respective opponents.

Silver: Darkonda, you're mine!
Darkonda: We'll see about that!

Mega Silver and Darkonda run towards each other with their respective sword weapons. Darkonda tries to slash Mega Silver, but he manages to somersault over the sword and strike Darkonda from behind. Darkonda falls behind.

Shebreeza: You'll never defeat me Mega Red! Never!
Red: Sorry, but I can't accept losing to girls.

Mega Red flips backwards and hits Shebreeza on the chest.

Red: Whoops. Sorry bout that gal, just couldn't resist it. But gee, flat-chested are you?

Shebreeza growls in anger.

Shebreeza: I may not destroy you today... But you will pay for what you have done!

She crosses her arms and disappears.

Red: Hey you can't walk out on me like that. Muahahaha.....

He goes and help the rest who are fighting Quantrons.


Suddenly, the Mega Silver suit starts showing signs of power strains. The in/out morph starts happening again.

Silver: Shit.
Darkonda: Reaching the forbidden level again Silver?
Silver: Damn it...

He has no choice but to retreat.

Darkonda: Come back here coward!

He gives chase but is blocked when the other five Megarangers run up in front of him.

Red: HOLD IT!
Yellow: Fairul! Power down now!
Silver: Right... Power down!

He demorphs, holding the Keitaizer in his left hand. It appears to be sizzling hot with steam rising from it.

Fairul: Darn.... it's sizzling...

He presses '0' and teleports away.

Blue: Right...... Now it's your turn.
Black: Yeah..... Quadro Blaster, online!

Mega Black, Mega Blue, Mega Yellow and Mega Pink combine their weapons together. Mega Black holds the Quadro Blaster and the rest hold his back.

Red: Drill Saber Custom Mode!

Mega Red holds up the Drill Saber and nods.

Black: Fire!
Red: Fire!

Both rifles fire lasers at Darkonda, causing a large explosion.

Pink: Did we do it?
Darkonda: No..... Hahahaha!

He grows into a giant sized Darkonda and shoots fire at the rangers.

Yellow: Argh!
Red: Galaxy Mega!

The Galaxy Mega forms and flies towards Earth. The Megarangers jump high in their coloured streaks and reach the cockpit of the Galaxy Mega.

All: Galaxy Mega, online!
Darkonda: Give me whatever you got.... Grrr....
Red: You said it.. Booster Rifle!

The Galaxy Mega fires at Darkonda with the Booster Rifle, a rifle composed of the booster rockets from the Mega Shuttle.

Darkonda: Grr!

He runs forward and hits Galaxy Mega with his sword, causing the robot to drop its rifle.

Black: Damn....
Red: Any ideas?
Pink: Power levels 57%.
Blue: Man that was a real hard hit.
Yellow: I'd say we finish him now.
Red: Right. Mega Sword, energize!

The Mega Sword appears in the left hand of Galaxy Mega, and starts to glow a faint yellow, energizing itself. Darkonda runs towards the Galaxy Mega to try stop the Mega Sword from charging.

Red: Strike!

The Galaxy Mega slashes Darkonda. Darkonda explodes as the Galaxy Mega stands triumphant. The rangers celebrate inside the cockpit of the robot.

Black: All right!
Yellow: We did it!
Blue: Yeah, all thanks to teamwork.
Pink: That's right.
Red: Good job guys....


But, as the Galaxy Mega stands among the tall hotels and buildings in the city celebrating its victory, on the ground, a shadowy figure emerges behind a building and observes it.

Shadowy Figure: 1 down... 8 to go.... This is not the end Megarangers... Hahaha!

The figure disappears.


The rangers are having a discussion at Long John Silvers' in Cineleisure Orchard.

Fairul: Okay guys... here's what I am going to do about my powers.
Basil: Shoot.
Fairul: I'm going to do exactly as Dr. Falken says: Climb the highest point on Earth where a thunderstorm is taking place, and recharge my powers with a lightning bolt.

Zulfah: You can't do that! It's too dangerous!
Fairul: I don't care. Just take it as I'm making sure you guys get all the help you need during these times. It's very necessary I do this.
Basil: He's right. But. I think it's still too dangerous.
Fairul: No I insist on doing it... It must be done.
Weijie: If you insist, we can't stop you. But are you aware of the risks?

Fairul: Of course lah.... I know exactly what I am going to do.. Trust me. Hey guys I gotta go for tuition... enjoy your movie with the rest.
Rose: I'll follow you back to Bedok. I'm not watching the movie anyway.
Fairul: Ok....

Fairul and Rose walk out of the Long John Silver's. Weijie glances at his watch.

Weijie: Hey isn't it time to meet the others? I mean, we wouldn't wanna be late right.
Zulkiflee: Yeah come on let's go.

They leave the restaurant too and head up to the cinema on level 5 to meet their school friends to watch 'Spy Kids 3D', although of the guys boycott and watch 'S.W.A.T.', both which coincidentally end at the same time.


After both movies end, the guys keep rattling on and on about S.W.A.T.

Basil: 10-David to 70-David, we have a Code 3! Code 3!
Zulkiflee: Roger that... sending reinforcements ASAP.
Basil: Copy. Haha!
Weijie: Great movie man..... Woohoo!
Justin: Yah.... better than Spy Kids... last time we watched not that nice man.
Basil: We didn't waste a good $7.50 like you gals did... Haha...
Erny: Whatever!!
Rinna: Don't know why you all like to watch violent movies so much!
Basil: It's fun.

He starts the S.W.A.T. theme tango.

Basil: Nanana!

The other guys follow him.

All guys: Nanana! Nanana! Nanana! Nanana! Na!

Rinna smacks Basil on the back.

The rest laugh at him.


Unknown to the other rangers, including Rose, Fairul skips his tuition and goes to the Megaship instead to look for Dr. Falken.

Falken: Fairul, why are you here? I thought you are supposed to be at tuition?
Fairul: No, I'm skipping it for today.
Falken: Why?
Fairul: I'm going to recharge my Keitaizer. And please, don't let the rest know about this.
Falken: Recharge your Keitaizer?
Fairul: Yeah.
Falken: Are you aware of the dangers posed by your actions?
Fairul: Of course. But I'm prepared to take the challenge.
Falken: Good. That's what I like to see in a Megaranger.
Fairul moves to the Earth Observation System.
Fairul: Thanks for your support.... DECA.
DECA: Yes Fairul?
Fairul: Can you scan the globe for lightning storms at the highest altitude avaliable.
DECA: Affirmative. Scanning now.

Fairul cracks his knuckles.

DECA: Found. A lightning storm with the highest altitude on Earth is at Snowdon in the Cambrian Mountains in central Wales. Altitude 1085 metres. There is heavy rain and lightning in the area.

Fairul: All right... I'll go. Alpha teleport me there.
Alpha: You got it Fai!

Alpha sets in some co-ordinates and Fairul teleports away in a silver flash of light. Meanwhile the other rangers are called away to a fight against Mantis in a forest.


Red: All right Mantis! Give it up!
Mantis: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? Where's Mister Silver?
Black: Not around for the moment.
Mantis: Then I'll just have to force him to come!

Mantis fires grappling locks at all five rangers, capturing them.


At the Cambrian Mountains, Fairul, in the heavy rain is waiting for the right lightning bolt to strike. He checks the time in between lightning bolts.

Fairul: Hmm.... 30 seconds within each one.

He opens up his Keitaizer and waits.

Fairul (thoughts): 15, 14, 13, 12...

He presses the morphing buttons.

Digitized voice: 2, 5, 8, 0
Fairul (thoughts): 5, 4, 3, 2,

He raises the Keitaizer in the air just as a lightning bolt strikes it.

Digitized voice: MEGA.

The lightning bolts strike heavily as electric shocks and sparks send Fairul falling down the mountain... but morphed.

Silver: Auto Slider!

The Slider's whirring sound is heard in the distance among the cry of the heavy rain.


Meanwhile, Mantis has the rangers captive.

Red: Argh... You'll never get away with this..
Mantis: But I will!

He takes out a big box with a voltage levels painted on it and a lever. He shifts the lever to 500,000V, then 600,000V. The rangers get electrocuted by the high power levels and groan in pain. But thanks to their power suits, they manage to keep conscious.

Black: I know.... what he's trying.... to do....
Blue: What? Argh...
Black: He is... trying to overpower Fairul.... and destroy him....
Yellow: No! He can't... do that.....
Red: It... appears... so......
Voice: Hold it Mantis!

Mega Pink turns her head and sees....

Pink: Fairul!
Silver: Mantis, you're gonna pray to me when I'm finished with you!
Mantis stops electrocuting the rangers.
Mantis: How nice of you to come... to your funeral!
Silver: We'll see about that!

He somersaults off from his Auto Slider, only to fall into the grip of Mantis' grappling claws. The claws bring Mega Silver up into mid-air.

Red: Fai!
Blue: No!
Silver: This won't hold me for long!
Mantis: We'll see...

He shifts the lever to 400,000V

Mantis: This is the safest for you Mega Silver.... Once I turn the dial to 500,000V you will explode.... and your friends have front-seats tickets to your demise!
Pink: You'll never get away with this Mantis!
Black: You'll pay asshole.....

Mantis shifts the gear to 450,000V and starts laughing maniacally.

Silver: What's so funny you stupid insect?
Mantis: The thought of you in pieces as your friends cry for you makes me laugh.
Silver: Don't bet on it maniac!

Mantis shifts the gear to 500,000V. Mega Silver gets heavily electrocuted.

Silver: Argh.... ARRGH!!!!!

The grappling claws explode, generating a lot of smoke and the rangers are released from their "prison".

Yellow: FAIRUL!!!!!!!
Red: NO!!
Pink: FAIRUL...
Black: FAI!!!
Blue: NO......

The smoke clears and nothing is there.

Mantis: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! Now your silvery friend has been sent to hell, it's your turn!

Mega Red runs forward to the spot where Mega Silver seemed to have died. He drops to his knees, with the Drill Saber in his right hand.

Red: No.... Fai..... Shouldn't have chosen you to become Mega Silver.... No... this is not happening!

Rose takes off her helmet and runs towards Mega Red. She throws her helmet aside. She cries.

Rose: Fairul!!!! Don't leave me.......!!! I love you!!!

Mantis just watches and laughs maniacally.

Mantis: Ahh, ahh, human emotions. Does not touch me one bit! Hahaha!


Mega Black and Mega Blue are both agitated by that comment.

Black: Why you dirty bastard....
Blue: Grr!!!!

They both draw their respective special weapons and combine them with their own Mega Snipers.

Black: Lunar Lance custom mode!
Blue: Astro Axe custom mode!
Mantis: Foolish humans!

He hits them away. They fly and drop their weapons.

Voice: Hey! That's no way to treat my friends!
Rose: FAIRUL!

The five Megarangers look to the direction of the voice and see Mega Silver on his Auto Slider, holding the Silver Blazer.

Red: Am I dreaming or what?

He zooms past Mantis and hits him. Mantis falls down as Mega Silver dismounts from the slider.

Mantis: You! But how?
Silver: Guys, I recharged my Keitaizer. I'm now back, and better than ever!
Mantis: Hahaha, what a sick joke. Don't make me laugh at your pathetic powers!

Without replying, Mega Silver skilfully jumps into the air and over Mantis. He strikes Mantis' right claw with the Silver Blazer, cutting it off. Mantis turns around and hits Mega Silver in the chest. Sparks fly from his suit but he still manages to gain control of himself and get ready for a final blow.

Silver: BLAZING SLASH!

He slashes Mantis and stabs him in the chest. Mantis explodes as Mega Silver strikes his trademark pose.


Black: You did it man!
Pink: Yeah!
Red: Woohoo! You're back!
Silver: Yeah I am....

Rose runs up to him and hugs him tightly.

Rose: I was so afraid to lose you....
Silver: Don't worry.... Let's get back to the ship now guys... Study for your exams tomorrow.
Red: But wait.... there's something left to do...
Blue: What?
Red: Galaxy Gliders, hang ten!

All five Galaxy Gliders come down. The rangers hop on their Galaxy Gliders, or for Fairul, Auto Slider.

Silver: Ready?
Red: 3, 2, 1...
All: Let's do it!

All six gliders speed off into the sky.


Narrator: Now Mega Silver is safe from the power limit. The next episode will be a very strange one indeed. And it will be the first standalone episode in the series. File 6: Dimensional Train... Only on MEGARANGER 2004!

File 6: Dimensional Train

All is silent at Bedok Town Secondary School.... The Secondary 2 students are having their History paper, their last paper of the final year exams. There are only 5 more minutes to go before the invigilator would collect the papers and the exams were officially over! Meanwhile Basil was fidgeting with his pen.. He was nervously awaiting the end of the exams as the next day there would be no school, there would be a class outing to celebrate the end of the exams. The invigilator looked at her watch. Basil grins excitedly.

Invigilator: Stop writing.

Everyone in class put down their pens and waited as the teacher collected all the exam papers. Basil turned his head left to ask Weijie, who was sitting next to him because his index number was 24 and Weijie's was 25, a few questions.

Basil: Hey WJ Chua easy not... Damn easy man.... I'm sure can score at least A2.

Weijie: Sure not... the source-based question.. the riots one... quite hard man! The picture can't see properly...

The class was filled with endless chatter and excitement as everyone was discussing about the examination paper. "RINNNNNNNGGGG!!!" went the school bell. The students were dismissed and they quickly packed their stuff and burst out of the classroom... eagerly waiting the next day when they would have an outing.


The next day, those who were going met at Bedok Interchange. Namely Basil, Weijie, Justin, Azmi, Rebecca, Hwee Li and Zi Hui.

Weijie: Sixteenth October.... nice time for an outing...
Basil: Okay, so Rinna's meeting us at Paya Lebar MRT station right?

He fiddles with his Nokia 7250i and finds Rinna's name in his phone book.

Basil: Great, so I'll keep contact with her lah.... easy


On the train, they have occupied seats in the carriage next to the drivers' end. Basil's cellphone rings. The display indicates that Rinna is trying to call him.

Basil: I'll go answer the call. It's Rinna lah...

He walks to the end carriage. It is empty, except for an old man sleeping in the corner. He answers the phone.

Rinna: Basil..... I'll meet you all at which carriage? And what's the train's number?
Basil: Second carriage from the front, and train number... 1029.
Rinna: Okie... thanks! Bye!

They end the call and Basil goes back.

PA System: Paya Lebar.

The train stops and the doors open. Rinna walks into the train and sits with the other gals.


Much later at night only Basil, Rebecca, Hwee Li and Rinna are still out...

Basil: Man it's 11.45... why don't we head home huh?
Rinna: Fine with me... it's too late already.

They walk to the Orchard MRT station. Just as they are about to tap their ez-link cards on the fare-gate readers, Basil's Digitizer beeps.

Basil: Err.... excuse me gals, I think I have to go to the toilet for a while.... Wait for me here lah...
Rebecca: Quickly come back ah!

Inside the empty toilet he answers the Digitizer.

Basil: What's up?
Fairul: Hey we've got a meeting tomorrow at noon. Be there or be square.
Basil: You got it Fai.

He goes out of the toilet to meet up with the gals. Down at the platform the train arrives just as soon as they go down.


Inside the train, they are all speechless, tired and weary, and staring into blank spaces. The train is empty except for the four of them.

PA System: Somerset. Next stop.. Dhoby Ghaut.

A while later....

PA System: Dhoby Ghaut. Next stop.. City Hall Interchange.

A while later....

PA System: Fort Canning.

The four of them notice the mistake and look at each other.

Rinna: Fort Canning? How come there's a Fort Canning MRT station?

The train pulls up at the station.

Basil: And it's... green all over...

The four of them start to shiver in fear. The doors open. Instead of the usual MRT station.... a vacuum vortex appears at the doorway of the train. The four of them hold on to the metal bars in the train tightly, hoping not to be sucked inside, but unfortunately, Rinna loses grip and she is sucked into the vortex.

Basil: RINNA!!!!!!
Hwee Li: Rinna!!!!!
Rebecca: No....!!!!!

The door closes and the vacuum disappears. The three of them crash onto the ground. The train starts moving, and soon it moves out of the "station". They get up and wipe their hands.

Basil: Damn it.... how could we let her go?
Rebecca: How are we going to explain to her parents now?

They look back as the train pulls up at City Hall. They dash out of the North-South train and hop onto the East-West train. The three of them agree to meet again the next day, which is a Friday, and they do not have to go to school because there are exams for the upper secondary.


Friday... Basil does not report for the Megaranger meeting. He refuses to answer his Digitizer.

Weijie: Man where the hell is he?
Fairul: He's not answering our call.... Never mind then, we'll start the meeting...


At 9pm that night, Basil meets Rebecca and Hwee Li at Takashimaya.

Basil: I've thought over it last night.... I figured out a way to save Rinna....
Rebecca: How?
Basil: We'll take the same train as last night.... from Orchard... when we pass Dhoby Ghaut, that same station would appear again, and then I will go inside the vortex to try get Rinna out... I've read up on the so-called Fort Canning MRT station. It's said that a demon lord created the dimension to kidnap people and suck their life energies in order to stay alive. It's also a legend that there are many sorrow spirits in the dimension, waiting to be released for reincarnation.

Hwee Li: Suck their life energies?
Rebecca: Oh my god....... Rinna is going to die if we never get her out.... But.. how can we trust you to save her?

Basil decides he has no choice but to....

Basil: You will.... Just wait until we get on the train.
Hwee Li and Rebecca: Okay.


Later at night... they board the 11.45 train - The same train ride which consumed Rinna into the vortex. Basil looks around the train to see if it is empty. It is.

Basil: Now you will have to trust me when I show you something. But you cannot tell anybody else about this....
Rebecca: What is it? Don't tell me its... Eeyer!
Basil: No, it's not... It's this.

He shows them his Digitizer on the left wrist and Battlizer on right wrist.

Hwee Li: Toys? How can we trust you with toys?

They both turn away.

Basil: Okay... you don't want to believe me... fine....
Digitized voice: 3-3
Rebecca: Playing with toys at a time like this?
Digitized voice: 5...... *warble*
Basil's voice: Turn around now?

They turn around, and see..... MEGA RED.

Hwee Li: Oh god... this can't be true....
Rebecca: Basil, you are... Mega Red? Oh shit..... now I feel embarrassed..
Red: Why?
Rebecca: The first time you guys appeared...

Pink: Come on guys let's go.
Red: All right come on.
Blue: Yeah

They turn away to return back to the secret base. One of the students stands up.
Rebecca: Thank you Megarangers!


Red: Oh that..... Haha..... So now do you trust me?
Hwee Li: I guess we have to.
Red: Good..... Power down!!!

The Mega Red suit dematerializes. After the train leaves Dhoby Ghaut, Basil opens up the emergency stopper and hits it.

PA System: Fort Canning.

Basil: Hey... QUICKLY SECURE YOURSELVES.... QUICK! QUICK!

The two of them hide underneath the chairs which are facing the opposite direction of the doors. Basil holds onto the metal bars at the door. The door opens and true enough the vortex acts up again. The strong vacuum also starts up.

Rebecca: Good luck Basil!
Hwee Li: Get Rinna back safely!
Basil: I will gals... I just like her too much.. I will never let any harm come to her..

He jumps inside the vortex. The train doors close, but the train stays there because Basil hit the emergency stopper. Rebecca and Hwee Li come out from their hiding places. It turns out they are at somewhere they didn't even knew existed. They are scared.


Inside the vortex, Basil landed on what appeared to him as solid ground. He ran his fingers on the surface of the ground. It was cold and dry. The ground is smoky and the sky is full of chromatic colour-changes. It was making him dizzy. The whole place was filled with moaning sounds of restless spirits. But he still tried to find Rinna.

Basil: Rinna!!! Where are you? Rinna!!!! Ni zai na li?? ("Where are you" in Mandarin)

He sees a shadow appear not too distant from him.

Voice: Basil is that you?
Basil: Yeah it's me!!

She runs towards him and hugs him.

She appears horribly pale. Basil is shocked to see her in such a state...

Rinna: I'm so glad to see you.... are you real?
Basil: Of course I am... what happened to you? How come you so pale?
Rinna: The demon.... it tried to suck my life energy, but I managed to run away... And I kept running and running until I heard your voice and found you. It's still giving chase!
Basil: Nah.... I'll handle that guy lah... relax....

Voice in the background: MUAHAHAHAHAHA...... YOU THINK YOU CAN RUN AWAY?

A demon humanoid wearing a warrior's helmet with long horns appears. It is carrying a sword in a sheath. Basil pushes Rinna behind him.

Basil: And who the hell are you?
Demon: You need not know.... BUT YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE ME?? HAHAHAHA.... YOU ARE SUCH A PUNY LITTLE HUMAN.... WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Basil: You sure will have big regrets.. cause I can do this! Let's rocket!

Basil morphs into Mega Red. Rinna, from behind, looks with her mouth wide open. She can't believe that Basil is actually Mega Red.

Demon: WHAT?

Mega Red turns around.

Red: See what I mean, dear? I'll handle this guy.

She is so touched by him coming to save her and accepts his love......

Rinna: Okay dear... just don't get hurt....
Demon: EMOTIONAL RUBBISH!!! DIE HUMANS!! DIE!!!!
Red: Shut up lah stupid bitch..... Drill Saber!

He jumps high into the air and somersaults. Halfway through the somersault the Drill Saber appears in his right fist. The Demon also withdraws his sword.

Demon: You'll never win, whoever you are.

Mega Red ignores this comment and tries to strike the Demon. But the Demon blocks his Drill Saber and strikes across Mega Red's helmet, smashing the visor and revealing Basil's eyes.

The Demon smashes the helmet once again, this time, the helmet is so badly damaged it crumbles, leaving Basil helmetless, with blood trickling down his forehead and mouth. The Demon then slashes Mega Red's right arm, letting it bleed profusely.

Demon: So I see you're scared..
Red: No! I am not! I am just afraid I will not save the woman I love!
Demon: Emotions run through you my adversary... and that will soon serve to be your downfall!
Red: Never!!!

He breaks free of the Demon's hold.

Red: BATTLIZER!!

He presses the '01' button.

Digitized voice: One.
Red: BATTLIZED POWER PUNCH!!!

Fuelled by his love for Rinna and his hatred for the Demon, Mega Red punches the Demon twice in the face and rolls on the ground to pick up the Drill Saber.

Red: Drill Saber Slash!

He executes a very powerful slash on the Demon, the red energy brightening up the dark and eerie dimension. The Demon bleeds green blood, and falls to his death, his body deflating. Basil falls to his knees as Rinna comes up behind him. Everything around them disappears and City Hall station appears, the doors of the MRT train, where Rebecca and Hwee Li are inside, open.


A helmetless Mega Red carries Rinna back into the train. He puts her down in front of Rebecca and Hwee Li. His right arm is still bleeding, the colour of the blood even darker than his red costume. Rinna hugs the very weak Basil tightly, and they both kiss.

Rinna: I love you...
Basil: I love you too Rinna.... I do.....

Suddenly a shift occurs, and a holographic clock turning backwards is shown... All four of them are sent back in time to two days ago, before they went for the class outing.


On the MRT to Orchard...

Basil (thought): Why am I back here? Shit.. it was a really beautiful moment! But at least I'm not injured anymore...

Rebecca looks at her digital watch.

Rebecca (shouting loudly): SIXTEENTH OCTOBER??!!

Basil and Hwee Li look at her in shock.

Weijie: Of course it's 16th October lah... then what? 18th October?
Rebecca: Shut up k.... this is important...
Basil: Hey don't fight lah....

Basil, Rebecca and Hwee Li go to the furthest end of an almost empty carriage, except for the same old man sleeping in the corner.

Basil: Okay so do you still remember what happened the two days before.... or should I say.... tonight, and tomorrow?
Hwee Li: Of course...
Rebecca: Definitely. Mega Red.
Basil: Okay... so now how like that... We've got to prevent Rinna from dropping into that vortex again.
Hwee Li: For what? And spoil your beautiful moment?

Rebecca and Hwee Li snigger.

Basil: Hey at least I know she's got a thing for me! She'll be meeting us at Paya Lebar... that's two stops away... All right... we'll see if she still remembers anything. And we MUST make sure history doesn't repeat itself.
Rebecca: More like OUR history, how we lived two days over.
Hwee Li: A thing for you?? Eeeyer... Let's go back.


After a while...

PA System: Paya Lebar.

Basil, Hwee Li and Rebecca look at each other and nod. The doors open and Rinna walks in, wearing exactly what she was wearing during the first encounter.

Basil: Rinna! You're alright!

The other guys look at him and roll their eyes.

Rinna: Of course I'm all right. What could possibly go wrong with me?
Basil: Err nothing
Basil (thoughts): Looks like she has completely forgotten everything. Shit... I was supposed to have you as my girlfriend! I've waited almost 2 years and when I thought everything was a go, stupid time shift brought us back.... I can remember you can't.. Damn....
Rebecca (thoughts): She's forgotten everything.... Aiyah like that it would be harder for us to prevent the event from happening again.
Hwee Li (thoughts): Haha... Basil's sad because Rinna can't remember anything. Now we have to tell her what happened, so that it would be easier to prevent it.

Rebecca types an SMS to Basil. He receives the SMS and reads it.

Rebecca (SMS): Rinna does nt noe anithin abt the incident which happened... shld we tell her abt it?

He types a reply.

Basil (SMS): Of course we should... it would make it easier for us to save her.
Rebecca (SMS): Okay.... I'll tell that to her now.
Rebecca: Rinna, can you follow Hwee Li and I to the other carriage for a while?
Hwee Li: Erh yeah, we got something to tell you.
Rinna: Tell what? Okay, okay, I'll follow you.

They return from the carriage with Rinna shocked.

Rinna: I don't believe you.
Rebecca: Never mind about that..... It's for your own good.... and besides Basil, Hwee Li and I have gone through the ordeal once.. but the time shift brought us here...
Rinna: I don't know what to say lah...


Much later at night only Basil, Rebecca, Hwee Li and Rinna are still out...

Basil: Man it's 11.45... why don't we head home huh?
Rinna: Fine with me... it's too late already.

Rebecca whispers to Hwee Li.

Rebecca: Oh o... guess what, the same thing happened two days ago.
Hwee Li: I know.. that's why it's so scary leh....

They walk to the Orchard MRT station. Just as they are about to tap their ez-link cards on the fare-gate readers, Basil's Digitizer beeps.

Basil: Err.... excuse me gals, I think I have to go to the toilet for a while.... Wait for me here lah...
Rebecca: Quickly come back ah!

Inside the empty toilet he answers the Digitizer.

Basil: What's up?
Fairul: Hey we've got a meeting tomorrow at noon. Be there or be square.
Basil: You got it Fai.
Basil (thought): Oh shit.... I just realised that history's repeating itself.

He goes out of the toilet to meet up with the gals. Down at the platform the train arrives just as soon as they go down.


Inside the train, they are all speechless, tired and weary, and staring into blank spaces. The train is empty except for the four of them.

PA System: Somerset. Next stop.. Dhoby Ghaut.

A while later....

PA System: Dhoby Ghaut. Next stop.. City Hall Interchange.

Rebecca, Basil and Hwee Li look at each other fearfully. The same green station appears again.

Basil: Shit....
Hwee Li: RINNA LOOK! THIS IS THE STATION! THIS IS THE STATION WE WERE TELLING YOU ABOUT!

Rinna looks outside of the window and screams.

Rinna: Why is it all GREEN?

But the station disappears in smoke.

PA System: City Hall Interchange.

All four of them breathe a heavy sigh of relief as they get out of the train and transfer to the East-West train home.

Rinna: Okay. Now I believe you guys. And what's Basil's big secret again?
Rebecca: Oh.... he's....
Basil: Taking part in a karate competition. Yeah.
Rebecca: Yeah, that.
Rinna: Chey! I thought it was something interesting...
Basil: It is interesting... I am interesting you know.
Rinna: Blerh!!!!!

She pushes him off his chair as all four of them laugh away into the night.


Later, Basil is walking along the road, alone. He stops and looks into the night sky, illuminated by the glow of the Moon.

Basil: Guess it's just another day in the life of Mega Red...

He walks on into the darkness.

Digitized voice: 3-3-5 *warble*

A red streak of light followed by a reddish cloud of smoke rises into the sky from the darkness.

The MEGARANGER 2004 logo explodes onto the screen, followed by the theme song "Install! Megaranger" by Naoto Fuuga.


It is a Saturday.... Basil and Weijie are busy working on something in the Megaship's hangar. It appears to be a mini tank. Basil is lying face up below it while Weijie works on the inside.

Basil: Pass me the wrench... something's loose down here.
Weijie: Okay.. Man the others are gonna go bonkers when they see this one... It totally rocks.
Basil: Yeah.... Hope we get it done soon enough, Psi and company haven't been toying around these past few days. Lucky Alpha and Doc helped us with the assembly or else we wouldn't be able to finish the thing.
Weijie: This Mega Tank's gonna rock...

Basil: I'm meeting Fai later for a round of training at the fitness room, you wanna come along?
Weijie: No actually I have something on at the Simudeck later, heard that the gals are doing some sort of weapons training lah. Falken's got me to assist them.
Basil: Okay.... Damn I'm tired lah.... Let's call it a day shall we?
Weijie: You'd bet.... we've been working on this for five hours, and because of that we missed X-Men Evolution this morning!
Basil: Wah kaoz! I forgot!

They throw their tools in the tool box, change out of their jump-suits and into their Megaship uniforms, then head out of the room. Outside, they lock the room with a code and head off to the lift. At Megadeck 6, they go separate ways.

Basil: Hey see you on the net huh ya.. I'm going back to my room... needa get some SLA stuff done...
Weijie: Why don't you get Rose, Zulfah or Fai to do them? They SLAs also what...
Basil: Dah... Fai's got O Levels, he's studying now, Zulfah and Rose, like you said, they got the weapons training shit...
Weijie: Yah hor....
Basil: Maybe I'll drop by the Simudeck if I have time..... Shooting right?
Weijie: Yeah, shooting and.... yup, basic combat. Ok lah see you.
Basil: Yeah.

They turn around and head for their respective destinations.


At the Simudeck, Mega Yellow and Mega Pink are getting prepared for their tests. Weijie is at the control systems.

Weijie: Okay gals, check your Mega Snipers. Make sure they are on dummy mode.
Yellow: Done already.
Pink: You got that.
Weijie: Shooting range simulation module. It says here that the passing mark is 65, total score 100, you have 50 targets to fire at, first 25 are stationary, next 25 are moving targets, going faster with each shot fired. Points are awarded for each target fired, and agility. No points will be deducted. Simulation coming up.

He presses a button on the panel and a simulated setting of a shooting range comes up.

Pink: Tough stuff!
Yellow: We'll make it, right Zulfah?
Pink: Yeah! Let's go!
Weijie: Your 10 minutes starts.... Now.

He presses the 'Start' button. Both of them draw their Mega Snipers and start firing at the targets which pop out of different places.


At Basil's apartment, he is typing a Word document out on the computer, and at the same time chatting on IRC with his friend Meng Yeow, whose nickname is Fujimiya, after Hiroya Fujimiya, the human alter-ego of Ultraman Agul. Basil himself is using the nickname JimStreet.

Basil (thoughts): It's great that Meng Yeow can still book out from camp during the weekend, can supply him with my Ultraseven Beyond fanfic..

"JimStreet": hey MY, I send to you episode 9.
"Fujimiya": ok

Basil finishes his work and switches off the computer. He goes to the Simudeck. The girls are still firing, but now they're about to finish with their moving targets. Basil goes to Weijie. Weijie looks at him and shakes his head.

Weijie: Not good... They've got lots to improve on.
Basil: Haha. Where's Zul(kiflee) by the way?
Weijie: Oh... playing soccer at the usual place. He just left half an hour ago.

The girls have just finished their shooting and they replace their Mega Snipers and remove their helmets.

Zulfah: So how did we do? Did we do well?

Both guys stare at her blankly.

Rose: What's that mean?
Basil: Bad news for you two.
Weijie: Let's see. Rose passed with a score of 70/100, but Zulfah, you failed with a score of 59/100.
Basil: Good for you Rose, but Zulfah, you'll have to come for my lessons now. Haha.
Zulfah: Aiyah! Then what about my boyfriend?
Basil: Saving the planet's much more important you know.
Zulfah: Okay, okay.

Rose: Weijie, where is Fairul now?
Weijie: Tuition. Later I'm meeting Liyana for dinner... you guys settle dinner here.
Rose: Aiyoh, you and your Liyana.
Basil: Wah lau eh! Shit you.... didn't tell me earlier.... Could have got Rinna to go, then we can have a double date!
Weijie: She like you meh? I don't think so leh.
Basil: Well, I'm not sure about last time but I am pretty sure about now, heh. (Reference episode 6)

Suddenly the alarm rings. Basil brings up his Digitizer.

Basil: Wassup Alpha?
Alpha: Trouble in the east! Quakestar is causing tremors!
Basil: Alert Zul... Ready WJ?
Basil and Weijie: Let's rocket!
Zulfah and Rose: Back to action!


The five Megarangers run to find the monster at the set co-ordinates. Quakestar is scaring people away and sending chunks of concrete flying through the streets.

Blue: Hey you over there! You need a People Relations course?
Red: Wanna be a construction worker? You don't even meet the requirements!
Quakestar: Ah! The main stars of the show are here!
Yellow: Well you got that right Quakestar, cause the stars aren't shining on you today.
Quakestar: We'll see about that!

He throws three chunks of concrete at the rangers. Mega Black and Mega Pink manage to dodge the concrete but it hits the rest. Sparks fly from their suits as the chunks hit them.

Pink: Aiyoh! Guys, get out of there!

Mega Red, Mega Blue and Mega Yellow lie on the ground, partially injured.

Black: Damn what are we going to do now Zulfah?
Mega Blue recovers.
Blue: Astro Axe!
Black: Lunar Lance!
Pink: Satellite Stunner!

The three of them jump high and strike Quakestar. Quakestar falls on his back. Meanwhile Mega Red has recovered and he helps Mega Yellow up.

Red: Rose, you okay?
Yellow: I'm fine. Now let's go get this guy.
Red: Yeah.

The five Megarangers regroup.

Quakestar: You are not going to get away with this!
Voice: Hey! How come no one invited me to the party?

Both the ranger team and Quakestar turn to the direction of the voice. It was Fairul on the Autoslider! The rangers are happy to see Fairul come.

Yellow: Yeah Fairul!
Quakestar: Quiet Megaranger!
Fairul: Uh, uh, uh that's no way to treat a lady.

He stops the Autoslider and dismounts.

Fairul: I'm gonna give you a lesson on proper etiquette. Sit back and enjoy. Let's rocket!
Digitized voice: 2-5-8-0-MEGA

He morphs into Mega Silver.

Silver: Mega Silver!
Quakestar: Impressive display, but that's not enough!

Quakestar fires lasers at the ground, causing a large crack. The Megarangers all manage to jump away but the crack reaches a nearby building and cause it to collapse.

Red: Oh no! He got a building.
Quakestar: Hahahaha! Emotions get the better of you rangers!
Yellow: Scanning for trapped people. Scan indicates fifteen people trapped in a chamber created by huge blocks of concrete piled on each other.
Blue: Shit, oxygen level?
Yellow: They will die if not rescued within 150 minutes.
Black: That's two and a half hours.... You guys go after Quakestar, Bas come on let's get back to the ship.
Red: Huh? Oh yeah. That.
Silver: What?
Red: You'll see. Just fight him! I promise we'll be back with something.
Silver: Right... but come back quickly, we gonna need all the help we can get.
Black: Great, come on man let's go.

Mega Red and Mega Black teleport out of the fight scene.


Back at the Megaship they rush back to the hangar to complete the Mega Tank helmetless.

Basil: Damn it.... we better finish fast.
Weijie: Yeah. Come on.

They get down to the computer terminals to work on the configurations of the various abilities of the Mega Tank.


Meanwhile, the rest are not having much luck with Quakestar. They are lying on the ground, all groaning in pain from the latest attack.

Blue: Two men down, and we're not doing well.... Argh!
Yellow: We don't even have enough strength to save the people trapped there.
Silver: Can't give up guys! Silver Blazer!

He gets up and runs towards Quakestar.

Silver: Rifle Mode!

The Silver Blazer changes into a rifle mode for the first time, the blade folded back. Mega Silver fires consecutive shots at Quakestar. Quakestar gets hit.

Silver: Blazing slash!

The blade flips open and Mega Silver tries to slash Quakestar, but the monster grabs his hand and flips him over. Mega Silver falls down in front of Quakestar.

Silver: Argh no...
Quakestar: Muahahahaha! You're no match for me!
Pink: Oh no... even Fairul's beaten...


Back on the Megaship....

Basil: 30 minutes before those people will die... Man can this thing go a little faster?
Weijie: That's it... we're gonna finish soon!
Basil: Downloading specs to Mega database, initializing Digitizer code.
DECA: 100% Complete. The Mega Tank is ready for use. Digitizer code: 7-6-1.
Basil and Weijie: YES!

They high five each other.

Basil: Let's go!

They pick up their helmets and dash out of the hangar.


The two teleport down to the scene of the battle.

Blue: Great. So what do you guys have in store for us?
Red: Something good. Something really good.
Yellow: Oh yeah? Like what?
Black: Wait and see.
Red: Hyah! Mega Tank, online!

He reaches for his Digitizer and presses the code.

Digitized voice: 7-6-1

He presses 'Enter' as the familiar enter warble is heard.

Pink: What does that do?

The sound of a siren wailing can be heard in the distance.

Silver: Man, is that what you can give us? A fire engine? A police car?

Black: Nope, a Mega Tank.

The Mega Tank drives up to the rangers.

Red: Okay... Now we have to split. Zul, Zulfah and Rose, you guys take the tank and rescue the people. Fai, WJ and I will take care of this loony.

Blue: All right... come on guys!

Mega Blue, Mega Yellow and Mega Pink get into the Mega Tank as it drives off.

Quakestar: Running away eh?
Red: No, just making the game tougher for you. Drill Saber!
Black: Lunar Lance!
Silver: Silver Blazer! All right.... let's do it guys!

The three of them surround Quakestar. Quakestar starts stomping on the ground, causing them to fall. Mega Black jumps and aims his Lunar Lance at Quakestar but the monster grabs the end of the lance and throws him over.

Red: Bastard! Drill Saber Custom Mode!

Mega Red combines the Drill Saber with his Mega Sniper.

Red: Fire!

From behind Mega Red, Mega Silver jumps, steps on Red's shoulder and somersaults to Quakestar.

Silver: Blazing Slash!

Both blows reach Quakestar at the same time, as he falls backwards as Mega Red and Mega Silver turn around and strike a victorious stance. Quakestar explodes.


The Mega Tank speeds off to the wreck. The large grippers from the Mega Tank extend to remove the huge block of concrete blocking the chamber. The fifteen people inside are relieved to see the sunlight. Some of them are lying on the ground, paralysed from the lack of oxygen. Mega Yellow and Mega Pink exit from the tank to get the people.

Yellow: Come on you guys, hurry.
Pink: Let's get out of here.


Those who are able try to get the paralysed ones out, but cannot manage to. Mega Red, Mega Black and Mega Silver arrive and they carry the paralysed people.

Silver: Pink. Get the paramedics.
Pink: Right.

She uses her mobile phone helmet signal to send out an 'Immediate Medical Assistance Required' signal to SCDF.


A while later, the Civil Defence paramedics arrive.

Paramedic Sergeant: Thank you Megarangers for helping us.
Red: You're welcome sergeant. Just doing our jobs.
Paramedic Sergeant: If not for you six, these people would have died.
Silver: No, that honour would have to go to you. You provided the oxygen masks for those who lacked oxygen supply. And because of that, you saved their lives. Because you are the real heroes this time. Thank you.
Paramedic Sergeant: Well thank you too. It was an honour to meet you.

The Megarangers stand back and teleport away.


During dinner on the Megaship, the rangers were having a great time discussing the events that happened.

Zulfah: The Mega Tank is really cool!
Rose: How did you guys EVER managed to do up something like that?
Weijie: 2E1 what....
Basil: Haha. Man I can't wait for the dance on Fai's Graduation Night-cum-High School Dance!
Zulkiflee: Me too!
Fairul: Haha, looks like I'll be seeing you guys on Grad Night.
Weijie: Count me in! I'm going to ask Liyana!
Rose: That's cool... Wonder who's going to ask me to the dance.
Zulfah: Yat sure ask me one! So happy!
Zulkiflee: Yeah.... I'm gonna try Tasha... See if she'd go.
Basil: I'll be asking Rinna for sure. The school's first ever dance MUST be a memorable one for all of us!
All: YEAH!
