Most of you will remember a kick-ass fan-fic by the name of “Power Rangers: Dragon Squadron” written by Dragon Voyager. He posted around four episodes and the project went on hold after that.
I approached him and humbly asked if I could take his idea and write a series based heavily upon it, because the concept is too good to not be told. He gave me the okay, and said he’d be interested in another person’s take on his ideas. I realize mine won’t be nearly as good, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway. He also said he may come back to writing his series, which would be great.
Some of you may be thinking: “Ryu has now officially gone crazy! He’s not even half way through his huge frickin Ultimate Power Rangers thing, he’s still not done with Season 01 of Thunderstrike, and what ever happened to ‘I, Ranger?’”
Well, I lost my mind a long time ago, but that’s besides the point. Most of Ultimate is actually written...about the first half of every season. Just not posted. Thunderstrike has about three or four eps for this season, and “I, Ranger is slowly in the works. So I figure, why not add one more series to my plate?
Anyway, here’s my tentative site design for Dragon Squadron. None of the links work yet, and the prologue along with Chapter One will be up within the next two days (most is already written).
Anyway, I’ve taken way too much of your time. Off I go. Check out the site below.

Edit: Change of plans. Here's the prologue below. Enjoy...

---Dragon Squadron
---Prologue: Fall from Grace
Mariner Bay was engulfed in flames.
A demon as black as night stalked through the war-torn streets with his slender blade slung over his shoulder as he surveyed his handiwork with pride. His slim suit of dark armor was trimmed with white, and his eyes were blood red.
“Lothar!” an angry voice called from behind the creature.
The demon turned to see a suited man walk through the flames with a blaster aimed forward. It was Carter, Rescue Red and leader of the Lightspeed Power Rangers. His red suit was torn and his face shield cracked, revealing the man’s blood-and-sweat-covered brow.
Lothar tilted his head back and scoffed with amusement. “I thought I killed you already…”
”You’ll pay for this, demon!” Carter shouted as he opened fire.
Lothar extended his hand and absorbed all the blasts with ease before narrowing his eyes and firing an optic blast that slammed against Carter’s chest. The red ranger fell to the ground, slamming his back against concrete as the Rescue Blaster fell from his grip.
Lothar walked over to Carter and stood over the ranger while slowly moving his blade over the hero’s chest.
“I’ll give you some credit, mortal,” Lothar said as he inched his blade closer to Carter’s head. “You did put up more of a fight than your pathetic underlings.”
Carter’s vision started to blur as he struggled for breath. “Go ahead…kill me…” he managed to say. “Someone will stop you. It’s not over yet.”
Lothar laughed, an icy sound that sent a chill down Carter’s spine. “No,” the demon said as he plunged his sword through the ranger’s skull. “It’s just beginning.”
***
An ancient temple resembling a building from feudal Japan hovered in the sky above Mariner Bay, casting a large foreboding shadow across the skyline.
Inside the castle, a demon of unspeakable power stood on his balcony and looked down on the city below. The armored creature had nine tails growing from his back held in a fan-like formation, and he wore a detailed mask connected to a samurai-type helmet. His name was Demonex, and he was the greatest of Hell’s generals.
The demon smiled beneath his mask as he saw the city below him burn.
Lothar may not be trusted, but he is quite efficient, Demonex thought.
Lothar was the first of the Hellspawn. Lucifer created the demon by using a piece of his own twisted flesh and bone. As a result, Lothar was the most deceptive and un-loyal of creatures in the armies of the underworld. He was also the most deadly.
Lucifer was sure to include Lothar in Demonex’s army, which was to open wide the gates of Hell so the underworld could spill across the mortal world and consume it with flame. The Prince of Darkness initiated a ceremony six Earth months previously to send Demonex and his minions into reality. Satan had sacrificed a quarter of his army to do so.
Lucifer was still bitter an eternity after being cast into the Lake of Fire from the kingdom of heaven. While in Heaven, before the age of man, Lucifer led a revolt against God in which Demonex had been his right hand. A sizeable portion of Heaven’s angels had been on Lucifer’s side, but God’s army, led by the angel Michael, defeated Lucifer and banished him to Hell.
Lucifer became Satan and plotted the destruction of mankind from the day they were born. He cultivated his armies, but before he could launch an all out attack, the gates of Hell were sealed. Demonex and his contingent was the only force in the mortal realm at the time. They launched a campaign against mankind, but were defeated by the hands of six warriors known as the Sei Hikari Sentai Dragonranger and sent back into the depths of Hell.
Lothar re-entered the temple and kneeled mockingly behind Demonex. “All is well now in Mariner Bay, my most powerful Lord and Master. The last of these so-called Rangers has fallen.”
Demonex looked down upon his warrior while tightening the grip on his double-edged sword named Hell-Bringer. He restrained himself from lashing out as his servant.
“And what of the Dragon Dagger?” Demonex asked. “It’s crucial to our plans…”
“There is no sign of the Dagger,” Lothar said as he rose to his feet.
Demonex cursed beneath his breath. “We must find that Dagger…all depends on it.”

A shadowy figure stood on the rooftops of Mariner Bay and looked down upon the burning city with a look of sadistic joy.
His real name had long been forgotten. Any remnants of his past life eroded from memory.
He wore a long jacket of black leather and had short hair as dark as night. His pale face had sharp features, and a tattoo of a black star surrounded his right eye.
“The players are almost all in place,” he said. “Mankind is at an end.”
TO BE CONTINUED…

I get back in the States and am trying to get caught up on Thunderstrike, and now you have to go and get me sucked into something ELSE on top of that?
Seriously, neat start, and I'll hopefully have more time to get caught up on everything once my apartment and my schedule recovers from my trip to Ireland. :)
