Part 2: "The Quest For Vengenance."
So, this was it. Where it all began. It was fitting that this was where it would end.
Don't think like that, Spike. Spike Harrison thought as he scraped around amongst the rubble of the Command Centre ruins. He wasn't sure exactly what he was looking for.
"Is this it?"
He turned to see the one identified as Richard Muller, the Matrix Ranger, hold up a white ball. RJ approached him with a stand.
"That looks like it." he said looking around, "Wheres Max?"
The Green Morphin Ranger entered what was once the main room of the Command Centre, his cell phone attached to his ear.
"Okay, you're sure you guys are alright?
Alright. I'll talk to you soon. Bye."
He shut the phone off and put it back in his jacket pocket. He took the ball from Richard and placed it on the stand. "Behold the viewing globe." He smirked, "I always wanted to say that. Mike, see if there's a working power relay under the plasma tube.Or whats left of it."
Michael Oliver, The Fantasy Force Green Ranger, had heard stories from his father about this place. The layout and structure, so he knew exactly what he was looking for. He lifted up a piece of the shattered tubing. There it was, right where it was supposed to be. He handed the relay to Max, who attached it to the globe.
"Let's power this baby up." Max said and flicked his wrist, summoning his zeo three zeoniser. He aimed it at the relay and fired the blue energy, activating the globe.
He nodded to RJ, who inserted a computer chip into the slot under the globe.
RJ turned to the rest of the group. "Will you guys excuse me a moment?" he said and dissappeared behind the rubble.
The other Rangers remained focused on the viewing globe as a picture desperately tried to affiz itself on the screen.
"Eltar calling Earth," a voice came through, "Earth can you hear me?"
"Who's that?" Michael asked.
"Our mission specialist." Max smirked and opened a channel to respond. "Eltar, re-tune your broadcast frequency to one zero two point five."
"Retuning frequency."
Within moments, the picture cleared up, revealing a small robot in what appeared to be a fully functional command centre. "Alpha?" Max asked, "Is that you?"
"Yes, Max, it's me." The robot seemed to be summing up the group gathered behind Max. "I see you have assembled your army." the robot paused, "Our mutual friend?"
Max shook his head. "I haven't heard from him in a few hours. He last reported he was en-route to Earth, but that was six hours ago."
Alpha nodded. "I think we should get on with the briefing then..."
Chris spoke up, "Hang on a moment. RJ is out back. I'll get him."
RJ now had his own cell phone out. "So you can definately do that?
Excellent.
Well, I guess I'll see you when you get here, then, Oh great leader. Alright. I understand."
He turned to see Chris Duncan watching him.
"What was that about?"
"It was nothing."
There was a moment of silence between the Green Sonic Ranger and the Green Fire Storm Ranger. "Max has established contact. We're about to begin the briefing. We need you inside."
RJ nodded and clambered past his counterpart, who gave him a cold icy stare as he went by. he hated the thought that crossed his mind. Did they have a spy in their midst?
He wasn't sure but he was damned hell going to find out.
One way or the other.
