Late 1998.
It was over. They knew it. They had failed. Cassie's words echoed in TJ's ears as they watched the Dark Fortress come down from the heavens. "It's Astronema. She's won."
He knew she was right. That fear was confirmed when the hatch opened and she emerged. An astro blaster was pointed at the head of the Red Ranger.
Pirhantrons surrounded them. earth was the next link in the chain to galatic domination. The famous Space Rangers had failed.
Astronomena hauled the Red Ranger up in front of the crowd gathered below her. She had just defeated him in battle. He lay unconscious in her grasp.
Looking down, she made sure that the other Rangers were watching. "This is how pathetic your so-called heroes really are."
Andros took one last look at his friends. TJ, Cassie, Carlos, Zhane and Ashley.
She would never know how he felt about her.
Astronema looked the Red Ranger in the eye. "So long, brother." she spat and hurled the Red ranger from the roof.
He landed with a sickening thud on the ground far below.
Laughing, she turned to her henchmen. "Kill them all."

Ten years later.
Earth was in ruins. The United Alliance of Evil had seen to that. Everyone who could have helped the stricken planet was either captured, dead or fighting their own battles elsewhere. Even the legendary Space Rangers had vanished, presumed dead near the wreckage of Terra Venture and the grave of the Red Ranger.
Something had to be done.

Weston City had been one of the worst hit towns. It was a small town on the outskirts of Northern California. It had no strategic stronghold. It was just a small holiday town with now an even smaller population. One thing it did have though, was an extensive network of underground caverns and caves. It was a well known spot for determined rebels, especially the F.E.F. (Fighters for Eath's Freedom). Quadrons and Tengas were known for patrolling these areas.

Scott Hamilton had spent years constructing this. It was hard enough trying to keep this off of enemy sensors, but he had finally managed to complete it.
The Lab was finally ready.
The sound of gunfire drew his attention to the doorway.
"It's RJ," came the cry from outside, "We've got Tengas on our tail!"
Scott pressed the panel on the door, making it slide open. RJ Jackson forced his way in, blasting a couple of tengas back on his way.
Scott approached him. "You got it?"
RJ opened the satchel to reveal a glowing green jewel. "The green gemstone."
Scott nodded and patted his old friend on his sholder. "Good. We just need one more then."
RJ peered at the console over Scott's shoulder. "How's it on your end?"
Scott shrugged and ran a hand through his long black hair. "The base for the portal is sound. I just hae to establish the correct quantum temporal coordinates for the transfer."
"Any word from Dave?"
Scott shook his head again. He had decided not to tell RJ about what had happened to the others. Nicola Leitch, Jacqui Kinsella and Will Cameron had been killed retreiving the gems they had been sent for. "No sign of him yet."

A beeping drew their attention to the corner of the Lab. "The Comm transponder." Scott commented.
"Silver Carrier, this is Red Jet, come in..."
"Red jet, this is Silver Carrier, whats your status?"
"I have accomplished the mission goal and am on route to your location."
An explosion interrupted his report. "I am encountering resistance. Prepare to engage teleportation unit!"
"That device has not been tested!" Scott yelled into the microphone, "Find another..."
"Power it up and bring me in!"
Scott locked eyes with RJ. He had to do this. He locked it on to Connors' last known location and engaged the beam.
Instead of Connors though, a small bag arrived on the platform. RJ bent down to open it. The Red Sonic Gemstone.
"We have to engage the portal!" he yelled. "Give me the stones!"
Scott shook his head. "No. You can't go. You're already there. I was in Australia then."
He placed the last gemstone in formation. The five began to pulse. "When I go, pull this lever. It will bring the last part of the plan on line."
RJ nodded. He didn't agree with Scott but he had learned to trust him. "Get going."

2003, Weston City, USA.
Cybertron had been left in charge of Earth after Astronoma had departed. He worked well with Ecliptor. The old orbital Space Station had made a perfect base for his operations. Ecliptor rushed in and imediately accessed the visual scren.
"Sensors have detected a rift in the SpaceTime Continuium."
Cybertron approached his partner. "What is it?"
The screen flashed into life, showing what looked like a doorway in downtown Weston City. "Sent a squad of Quadrons to check it out."

Scott looked at where he landed. "Where am I?"
It looked like an old warehouse. He knew where this was. The old dockyards. The question now was when was he. He peered outside, shielding his eyes from the sunlight. It had been so long since he had saw the sun. It was beautiful. He had to find out when he was, and what he was looking for.

He had been walking for what seemed like hours. He was in no doubt that whenever he was it was after the invasion. There was no sign of any kind of public transport. So far the timeline was consistent.
He rounded a corner to see a group of Pirhantrons and Cyberbytes cornering a group of three teenagers.
He ducked back around the corner and put his hand into his back pocket. "Hope this works."

Cyberbytes were all around them. They had fought them off valliantly but they just kept coming. As good a fighter as he was, Will Cameron just couldn't cope with them. Jacqui Kinsella had been trying to protect the injured Dave Connors, who lay unconscious on the ground.
"Hows he doing?" Will asked between trading blows with a Cyberbyte.
"Not good, he's losing a lot of blood."
"Hang on.." he was knocked to the ground beside his two friends.
His blue shirt was covered with blood. He wasn't sure but he thought he could see a silver form making it's way through the crowd before he lost consciousness.

The man in the silver suit pushed the Cyberbytes clear and made his way to the three fallen teenagers. "Get them together." he yelled to Jacqui.
She gathered her injured friends together and he activated his teleporter.

Quadrons were at the location where the temporal doorway had first shown up on the sensor grid. "Scout team to base. There's nothing here. It must've been a glitch in the sensor net."
"Acknowledged. Report back to base."

The three teens and the silver stranger materialised in the old warehouse. He lay Dave Connors and Will Cameron out on the warehouse floor.
"We have to get them to a hospital." Jacqui yelled at him, "They're gonna die!"
Silver shook his head. "See that bag." She noddded and handed it to him.
He knew who these people were and what they were going to do. "Take the blue one and run it over him." he pointed to Will.
He took the red gem and ran it over the unconscious form of Dave Connors. Almost instantly, the physical wounds began to heal. It would be some time before they came round though.
He turned back to Jacqui. "I need to find RJ Jackson and Nicola Leitch, urgently."

Across town, two other teenagers were fighting Cyberbytes to protect the lives of a group of elderly people.
"Leave them alone!" The man cried ad he snapped a cyberbyte's jaw.
Before he could react though, two other cyberbytes ambushed him. pinning him down.
"RJ!" the girl cried and ran toward him. RJ Jackson could only watch as she dissolved before she could reach him.
"Nic!! What the hell have you done to her!?"
He was hauled to his feet and the lead Cyberbyte, the same one he had knocked down, approached him. "Not half of what we're going to do to you!"
RJ braced himself for what was coming. He knew it would be the end of him.

The only thing that came though was a blur of silver, clearing the area of Cyberbytes.
He also saw three people escorting the group of pensioners away. The man in the Silver suit caught him as he fell. "Come on. Let's get you patched up."

She turned as a beam of silver and four of white flashed into...wherever she was. They transformed into four humans and the silver suited man who had saved her. "RJ!" she ran to her cousin, relieved that neither RJ nor herself dissapeared this time.
He embraced her. God she was strong.
He looked at the other three who had teleported with him. He recognised them as Dave Connors, Will cameron and Jacqui Kinsella. They had fought against Cyberbytes in Weston before. according to Dave, they had "made a pretty good team." RJ, reluctantly, had been forced to agree.
"Where are we?" he asked the silver stranger.
"Warehouse twenty-five. Near the docks." Jacqui answered.
"And why are we in an old abandoned warehouse?" Nicola asked.
Silver raised his hand, silencing the group. "I am sure you have many questions. But we have little time."

Cybertron couldn't believe what he was hearing. "What?"
The Cyberbyte on the screen nodded. "Yes sir, it was wearing a silver costume. Very much like that of a Power Ranger."
That was impossible. The Power Rangers had been destroyed long before he had arrived on Earth. "The Silver Space Ranger?"
"No sir. The armour was different."
A new Ranger. This was bad but was starting to make sense. The Temporal displacement reading. This new Ranger was most likely from the future. A future where he had won.
He turned to Ecliptor. "Let's go."

Silver looked at the five spread out in front of him and addressed each of them in turn. "RJ," he said and handed him the green gemstone, "You will become the Green Sonic Ranger, armed with the sonic cruiser cannon. Your zord will be the Green Cruiser Soniczord.
"Nicola, the Pink Sonic Ranger. Armed with the Sonic Slinger. The Pink Racer Soniczord will be yours.
"Will, the Blue Sonic Ranger. You will have the Titanium blades as your weapon. The Chopper Soniczord is now yours.
"Jacqui, The Yellow Sonic Ranger. Armed with the Atomic Bombs and with the Bomber Soniczord as your battle machine.
He turned to the last of his potential team.
"And Dave, The Red Sonic Ranger and the leader. You will be armed with the Sonic Sword. The Red Jet Soniczord will be yours. You can call upon the power of the Sonic Megazord by combining your Sonic gems."
"Sonic gems?" Dave asked."We can combine them?" he said, eyeing up the Red gem the Silver Ranger had given him. "Nice."
Silver nodded. "You want to save the world?"

"We're not Power Rangers." RJ argued.
Will nodded. "They were destroyed. The Red Ranger was killed right over there." he said. pointing to the spot a few hundred yards away.
"The world needs new rangers. We need a hero." Silver stated, "More specifically, five of them."
"Fight with us." Jacqui pleaded, "Please."
Silver shook his head. "I can't. Not yet."
Dave looked at the ruins of the city around him, then back at the stranger. "You say we can make a difference?"
Silver nodded.
"Well, anythings gotta be better than this."
Jacqui and Nicola were behind him. Silver could see that they were nodding as well. "Where do we sign up?"
Silver opened the small satchel, bring out five rectangular devices. He then indicated to the gemstones, handing the respective colours to their owners. "How do we activate them?" Dave asked, placing the gem in the device, which Silver had referred to as a soniciser.
"Your zord call and the words Sonic Power. Now get going."

Cyberbytes rounded up the citizens of the city formerly known as Weston. Cyberbyte had enjoyed it's tenure as Earth's ruler. "My subjects," it started, "As your genorous and compassionate ruler, I have given you many things. But now, I ask for something in return."
"Go to hell, you Bill Gates bastard!"
It turned to see who had hurled the insult and sent henchmen to drag the man out from the crowd.
Within moments, it was face to face with him. "What is your name?" she asked.
"Eugene Skullovitch." he spat.
"Well, Eugene Skullovitch, I think you should join the elite group that your power rangers joined."
Skull braced himself as it raised her staff, ready to bring it down on him. "Can you fly?"
"Hold it right there, Cybertron!"
Both turned to see five cloaked figures fighting their way through the crowd of civillians, Phriantrons, Cyberbytes and Quadrons.
They eventually got to the base of the building where they were. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded.
"Your worst nightmare." another one answered.
"We're giving you your two minute warning," called the one on the left, "The home team is taking back the field."
The one in the middle now moved forward. "Ready?"
"READY!" came the four replies. The embarked on some kind of kata. "LET'S GO SUPERSONIC!"
Each figure now stepped up individually. "Green Cruiser, Sonic Power!"
"Blue Chopper, Sonic Power!"
"Yellow Bomber, Sonic Power!"
"Pink Racer, Sonic Power!"
"Red Jet, Sonic Power!"

She watched as the glow died. Earth had new Power Rangers. "Who the hell..."
"SONIC RANGERS, ARMED AND READY!" they cried and took battle stances.
"Cruiser!"
"Chopper!"
"Bomber!"
"Racer!"
"Jet!"

Cybertron watched as the new Rangers formed. "Even with your new powers, you cannot defeat us!"
Red Ranger stepped forward. "Not on foot we can't."
Yellow Ranger agreed. "Right. We need Sonic zord power!"
The Rangers formed a single line and raised their hands to the sky. "Green Cruiser Sonic zord, power up!"
"Pink Racer Sonic zord, power up!"
"Yellow Bomber Sonic zord, power up!"
"Blue Chopper Sonic zord, power up!"
"Red Jet Sonic zord, power up!"

The Jet and Bomber launched from the removeable runway underneath the airport. The Cruiser and Racer from the underground garages while the Chopper lifted off from the heli-strip.
The Rangers watched as they approached. Red Ranger gave the order."Go!"
Blue landed in his cockpit. "Chopper, ready to slice and dice!"
Green landed in the cockpit of the Cruiser, "Wow, talk about Va-va-voom!"
Pink landed next. "Let's kick it into high gear!"
"Bomber," Yellow reported, "Lets set 'em up.."
"And knock 'em down!" Red finished, "Jet, ready to soar! Up for an air raid, Jac?" and signalled to the Bomber.
Yellow ranger acknowledged. "I'm ready."

Ecliptor and Cybertron watched as the fleet of sonic vechiles approached. The Jet and Bomber started firing from the air, destroying enemy targets on the ground below.
The Chopper was trying to coordinate attacks between the Cruiser and Racer. The two cars weren't much use though as there wasn't much room to manouver. RJ could only watch as Nicola hit the base of one of the buildings. "Typical woman driver."

Cybertron opened a small panel on his right arm. "Let's see these Sonic Rangers handle a Super Computer!"
He pressed a control and began to grow, towering over the tallest of the buildings. "C'mon, Rangers.Lets see what you've got!"
He struck out at the two aerial Sonic Zords, sending them craching into each other. Within moments though, the Chopper was in covering for them. Will opened his communications controls. "You guys okay?"

Dave and Jacqui got their respective zords back under control. "This is gonna be tough." Jacqui sighed.
"You got that right." Dave answered, "Sonic Megazord, power up!"

The Cruiser and Racer lined up to form the legs. RJ and Nicola found themselves in a combined cockpit.
"Theres the Chopper." Nicola pointed.
RJ had complete control over the two combined vechiles. "I see him. Ready Will?"
"Coming in." came the voice of the Blue Sonic Ranger.

The Chopper landed to form the base and spine. Blue Ranger joined Green and Pink in the forming Megazord cockpit. Green Ranger turned to him. "Nice landing."
will had immediately set to work on his console. "Keep her steady, RJ. Here comes Jac in the Bomber."
The Bomber split to form the arms, shoulders and fists of the transforming Megazord. She joined the cockpit in the front left seat."Four down, one to go. Iniating final transformation sequence." Nicola opened a channel to the Red Jet. "All ready for you, Mr Connors."
Dave watched the Megazord shell as he approached. "Just hold her steady for me, Nic. I don't want to scratch the paint."
"You gonna sit on the hull and pose for postcards?" Will asked over the intercom.
"Something like that.Red Jet, coming in to complete the sequence." He brought the Red Jet down to form the breastplate, head and visor of the new megazord, still on a horizontal base. "Sequence complete." he cried as he took the centre seat in the Megazord cockpit.
"Lets get this thing on it's feet," RJ yelled, "Activating Chopper Jets!"
The jet blast from the chopper pushed the Sonic Megazord to it's feet. "Ready for battle!"
The Sonic Megazord stood ready.

Cybertron watched the battle machine assemble. "Well, rangers. I'll make a deal with you. I win and you surrender your powers. You win and..."

Pink Ranger sprang up from her seat. "You leave our planet."
Cybertron shook his head and sneered. "Sorry, that does not compute!" he yelled and charged the Megazord. He picked up the new battle machine and threw it through the high rise offices next to the battlezone.
"C'mon then, Sonic Rangers!!" Cybertron taunted, "That all you got?"
"We'll show you what we've got!" Will answered, then muttered, "As soon as we figure it out ourselves."
The Megazord struck out at Cybertron, knocking him back. Only for him to come again and again. "Dave," Will warned, "That blast didn't even phase him."
Red Ranger clinched his fist. "What kind of weapons do we have, Nic?"
Pink Ranger scanned her console. "Sonic Sabre and shield." She didn't need to wait for the next order."Sonic Sabre, online."

Cybertron watched as a long silver and gold sword appeared in the Megazord's right hand. He had a pretty good idea for what that was for. "You think that little knife is gonna do you any good?" he stammered, stepping back with every word.

In the cockpit of the Sonic Megazord, Dave sighed."Well, lets find out."
"SONIC SABRE SOUNDWAVE STRIKE!!"

The Megazord swung the sabre back and then threw threw the blade forward, unleashing a cavalcade of sound. Cybertron cowered, covering his ears against the onslaught.
"Too...much....sound....Does...not....compute..Does...not...compute...."
The Rangers watched as Cybertron shattered under the power from the blade. "One down," Jacqui smirked, putting her hand on Red Ranger's shoulder, "Five hundred million to go."
"We'll take them down, one at a time." Will agreed.

Silver had the local news station on when the Rangers returned to the warehouse. "We have exclusive footage of what appears to be some kind of Megazord destroying the menace known as Cybertron. It seems that Earth once again has a hope for freedom, thanks to the next generation of Power Rangers."
He turned it off as he saw the new Sonic Rangers approach. "Well done."
Dave nodded. "Thanks. Those Soniczords are something else."
"As well as the weaponary." Nicola agreed.
Silver smirked. These people reminded him so much of the friends he had loved and lost. His only comfort now being that those events would no longer happen. "You are welcome, Rangers. However, you have a long and hard battle ahead of you.What you face will not be easy. You will need more than your Sonic powers to win."
Will stepped up. "What else will we need?"
Silver indicated to his chest. "Heart, teamwork and dedication. Cybertron will be back in force."
"And we'll be ready for him....her......it!" Jacqui stammered and shrugged at the others.
Dave nodded. "We get it. I just have one thing to say."
Silver waited for the Red Ranger to continue.
"Let's go Supersonic."

What happened to the people who were gonna be in the fic?

My reasons for a cast change from real people to fictional characters was nothing personal.
My main reason was that I thought I could give more development to fictional characters than to the people who volunteered (thank you to those who did). I didn't want the character development to clash with the personality of the people.
I also know how these characters react to certain situations as I have used them in fics before, though never in a direct team up.

And my second reason for changing was that someone else used the idea of having people volunteer for characters.

This was not meant as an insult to the people who volunteered for roles and if any offence was caused, then I apologise.

So, what do you think of the story? I don't feel it was my best work and did not come near the quality of MMPR Reignition, but in my experience, the first episode tends to be the weakest. I promise that Episode 2: "The Family Silver" will be much better.

I would appreciate any feedback and/or criticism, even from Lightspeed_Zariass (kidding)
