Chapter 2
Tommy had to think fast. He couldn’t believe he fell for this. He hoped that no one noticed he was here. He looked left and right, all he could see was a group of bushes, if he were to escape, he’d have to go out into the open. Past the Wizard. “It’s now or never,” he said to himself. He did a front flip out of the bushes landing behind the wizard of deception.
He took out his morpher, “It’s Morphin….”
Before he could finish a group of putties grabbed him and put their hands over his mouth. He struggled to get out of there hold. His eyes grew wide in horror when he saw the wizard coming towards him with a small dagger in his hand. He advanced slowly towards Tommy, whose hand was being outstretched by a putty.
Tommy squirmed and tried to yell in agony as he felt the knife pierce the skin of his right arm. His eyes closed tightly as his fist became clenched. He now felt what he was sure was a tube, that was draining some of his blood. Tommy felt weak and then felt as if he was being drained of his powers now. Everything went dark as he passed out. The putties let go as he dropped the ground, landing with a loud thud.
The Wizard put the tube filled with Tommy’s blood and powers on the floor. He then took out his wand. He waved the 7-inch, black wand over the sample of blood. He then began to talk in what seemed like another language, “Terserk, Manifestica, arisisa, fatas,” he then began to glow a soft green as the blood sample began to bubble and steam. It then expanded and spilt over the ground, it turned into a Green Liquid, and slowly took a human form. An exact replica of the now unconscious Tommy. Only difference was this clone was wearing regular blue jeans, and a green t-shirt. On his head a green bandanna.
“Arise, my Green Ranger,” the wizard spoke now in his regular voice. He looked down as the clone began to stand, “Aw man, what happened,” the clone asked. He looked down and then saw the other him. He looked as if he didn’t know what he was seeing. Was there really two of him, or was this a trick. He turned to see the wizard whose hypnotic eyes began to glow, placing the clone in a trance. The clone just stared at the wizard and the clones eyes began to glow green. In a flash of brilliant green light, He was in the Green Ranger costume.
“Now my green ranger, you will make your way back to angel grove, you will take over life as Tommy Oliver until further notice. You will know when to attack.” The Green Ranger nodded as he walked off and left the area. The Wizard let out a low laugh as he and the putties disappeared in a flash of Blue light.
Lord Zedd, who had been watching the whole scene was in his chamber laughing. “My plan is going perfect, for once. This time, the Rangers have no chance.”
Goldar is seen in the back lurking behind Zedd trying to get past him with out noticing. He hurries down a corridor and goes into a small room. He picks up what looks like an old version of the Personal Alien Manager, he presses two buttons and a hologram of what looks like King Sphinx appears.
“Brother! Do not worry, soon enough, our mutiny will begin. Then we will control the world.”
The holographic image of King Sphinx smiled and laughed a bit. His voice sounded distant and scratchy, “Soon, after Zedd and Rita dispose of the Rangers, we will rise, and we will take them down!” They two laughed as they plotted the perfect plan. They would soon be the ones who bossed Rita and Zedd around. Never again would he be a lacky to those idiots. Goldar would have his day. He would have his day if it was the last thing he did.
Back on earth, the following day, the teens ran into the clone of Tommy, who seemed rather off. He never said a word to them. Just went by as if they were no one.
Kimberly was the first to approach him. During a free period she went up to him while he was hanging around in the library writing stuff down.
“Tommy?” She asked, with concern in her voice, but he didn’t aknowledge her. She spoke again, a little louder, “Tommy?”
He glanced upwards from his writing and looked at her. He didn’t say anything. After an extended moment of silence he made a face of much resentment and continued writing. Kim was surprised, he was usually in a much better mood than this, She had to know what was wrong,“Tommy is everything ok? You’ve been acting weird ever since last night. Plus Zordon said you didn’t defeat the Wizard of Deception.”
He payed no attention to her at all and just stared down at his writing, jotting down more and more as Kimberly stood above him, seeming almost hurt. She just watched Tommy. She finally spoke again, “Tommy what’s wrong with you. Why aren’t you talking to me?”
Tommy slammed his book shut and looked at Kimberly. “Did it ever occur to you that I have other things on my mind. Do you think all anyone does is worry about what you feel or may be going through. You’re not the center of everyone’s universe.”
Kim seemed rather upset after Tommy said this to her. Her eyes watered with tears about as Tommy walked off and stormed through the library doors, since he was in such a hurry, he left a paper behind. She bent down to pick it up. She read it:
GREEN RANGER WILL RULE GREEN RANGER WILL RULE GREEN RANGER WILL RULE
It was written over and over again. She just stared at it for a moment. The bell rang loudly, she disregarded the paper and stuffed it into her bag. As she walked on towards her next class, she couldn’t help but think about what Tommy had said to her. She couldn’t understand why he was acting like this. As she became trapped in deep thought, she didn’t realize, Aisha and Adam had been next to her, and trying to get her attention.
She finally snapped back to reality, “What? What did you say?” kim asked, sounding slightly disorientated.
“What did Tommy say?” Asked Adam, looking worried now as he and Aisha saw that Kim was really upset.
Kim looked down again and turned to leave. She took a few steps before turning around and saying, “Guys, something’s wrong with Tommy, and I advise that unless you want him to get pissed of at you, stay clear of him. He said some really mean things to me before.”
Aisha and Adam just looked at Kim, who then turned and continued to walk away. Adam cast a confused look to Aisha who just shook her head as they continued on to their own classes. No one noticed Tommy hiding in the shadows behind them. Smirking to himself, knowing that soon he would strike. Soon those Rangers would be history. Tommy’s eyes burned with Green flames. He couldn’t wait to crush them. His fist tightened as he walked away.
Far away, up on the moon palace that was home to Zedd and Rita, Tommy was stirring from a deep sleep. Slowly he opened his eyes. At first he didn’t realize what had happened. He sat up quickly and looked around. He panicked. "Was this a dream?" he thought. He hoped it was as he began to grow with terror. He looked left to right. He then slid off the metal slat he had been laying on. He recognized this place. It was where Jason had been sent when Rita trapped him. The place where Tommy, as the Evil Green Ranger, almost destroyed him. Tommy knew this couldn’t be good. He took out his morpher, but before he could morph, he felt dizzy and weak. Tommy had no choice but to lie down again, and with out knowing he felt tired, “Later,” he said, “Later I’ll escape.” Then, he fell dead to the world.
Back in Angel Grove, Rita and Zedd sent a monster to Attack. They had called back Rita’s old friend Scorpina. She started her attack in the market area of the city. She was throwing innocent civilians left and right. Destroying cars, blowing up buildings, using her strength to throw debris at people.
Rocky, Billy, Adam, Tommy, Aisha, and Kim arrived.
“It’s Morphin Time!” Rocky yelled, and the rangers outstretched their morphers. All except Tommy who just stood there
“Mastodon!” Adam yelled.
“Pterodactyl!” Kim yelled.
“Triceratops!” Billy yelled.
“Saber Tooth Tiger!” Aisha yelled.
“Tyrannosaurus!” Rocky yelled.
The teens stood morphed, ready to go. Suddenly, they realized. Tommy hadn’t morphed. They didn’t have time to worry, Scorpina attacked. She threw a quick punch into Billy’s gut, then a quick kick into Aisha’s face. Rocky and Adam tried to take her out from behind, but she ducked and they went right over her. Kim quickly drew her blade blaster, hoping to take down this witch, she was ready to take aim, but Scorpina was missing. Kim looked around, but only saw her fallen friends. Walking through the background, she saw Tommy, walking by eating a green apple as if nothing had happened.
