I figure I'll take a stab at rewriting an episode of Power Rangers, and well, this seemed like a finale that needed much improvement. So let me know what you think,

The Calm Before The Storm-Prologue

Jen sat on the roof of the Clock Tower with the skyline of Silver Hills putting her in awe. In her own time, the skyline would look nothing like that. The skyline was in the year 3000 was always dark and sooty or yellow in the evening, and there was not much to look at beside the industrial district and the time gate.

Jen just drifted away in her thoughts. The realization that she would have to leave Wes was over bearing…

It was a bitter sweet ending to all the work they had done in the year 2001. They still had Ransik to defeat, which she knew would be difficult. But what worried her was that she wouldn’t be able to stay. A tear slid down her cheek. The people she had met, the places she had seen…the incredible man she had fallen in love with. The thought of going back to the future…back to Alex…

Wes carefully sat down next to her, and Jen smiled. “Heh. You keeping the pigeons company?” Wes asked.

“I like to come up here when I have a lot on my mind. It's so quiet, and beautiful.” Jen said. Wes smiled. He wasn’t used to seeing her so soft-it was actually kind of refreshing. “Now, don't tell me you're gonna miss this... drafty old Clock Tower!”

“Actually, there's a lot I'm gonna miss.” Jen said, almost absent-mindedly. Wes smiled again. This was a side of Jen he doubted that he’d ever see again. “Really? Like what?”

Jen doesn’t say anything. She was thinking very hard about her next choice of words. Jen took a deep breath. She had to tell Wes sooner than later. “Like…” She started to explain how she felt, how she’d always felt, how she hated that she had to live him. But those words never escaped her mouth. “Little things. Like pizza, or the cookies we made.”

Wes’ demeanor changed. No longer was he expecting to get the answer he wanted to get. He turned away from Jen, trying to hide his own emotion. He remembered all to well those little dried up pieces of crust Jen made. “Yeah, those cookies were good.” Wes lied.

“Well…what about you?” Jen asked like she was a third grader trying to ask a boy out. “I mean…I’m sure you won’t miss me…I was always bossing you around.”

“You weren’t always that bossy.” Wes said honestly. “Sometimes I deserved it. I can be a hard headed Red Ranger sometimes.”

“No, you were always a great Red Ranger.” Jen said, again not noticing what she was saying until after she said it. Wes raised an eyebrow. “Wait…you didn’t even want me to be the Red Ranger when we first met.”

“Well…” Jen started. “Try and look at it from my point a view, Wes. I thought I had lost the love of my life. There was only one Red Ranger in my mind. Of course, once he tried to take over again, I realized that…maybe you were better in that place from the beginning.” She admits. Wes smiled. “I was so proud to be a Ranger. I thought you really hated me for a while there. But you did help me learn a few things about myself.” He said, remembering all the events that led to him being a Ranger. Jen remembered waking up in bandages, looking at Wes sleeping at her side. “I guess we both had a lot to learn.” She said. “And I think I was realizing how good a friend you were becoming. We’ve been through a lot together.”

“Yeah.” Wes said somberly. “We sure have.” Wes looked over at Jen, who was once again staring into space. “I am going to miss you.” He said. Jen turned to look at him, completely shocked. “What?”

“All of you!” Wes covered. “Yeah, I’m gonna miss all of you! I’m going to miss Katie and Lucas and…and…the kid with the green hair…”

“Trip.”

“Yeah. Trip.” Wes said. He mentally kicked himself in the ass for being so dumb. Jen smiled and went back to thinking, thoughts of telling Wes the truth lingering far in the back of their heads. Wes also thought about telling Jen, but they both remained silent, afraid to tell each other the truth about how they both felt…

The End of Time pt. 1

Jen couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “According to Time Force History banks, there will be a massive attack on the city.” The five Time Force Rangers stared at the screen, stone-faced but scared. Alex sent an image of what was to come. It's Silver Hills, and above the city is a massive, purple & black Time Hole. The sky around it is blood red, and lighting begins to surge out of the vortex. Skyscrapers are slowly lifted into the air, and sucked into the portal, one by one, ripping them out of their foundations hastily, flames and destruction behind. All five of the Time Force Officers watched this image in horror as it unfolded before them in the flickering transmission. Not a happy face amongst them, The Rangers expressions change, from shock to distress to confusion to alertness to downright worry. The image shifts back to Alex, who leans against the back of his mesh chair, and spoke directly into the Holoscreen "None of you survive... to make it back."

Jen’s breathing skipped a few breaths. She could hardly gain her composure. “W-What do you mean…we don’t survive…Alex, what do you mean we don’t make it back?” Jen asked, the anger in her voice rising.

“There must be a way we can stop it!” Katie argued. Alex sighed. “There is a way.” He said. He knew that this wasn’t going to be easy for any of the Rangers to except, especially Jen. He opened his palm and looked at the engagement ring he had given Jen, and suddenly, he had no remorse for what he was about to say. “The attack can’t be stopped, but there is one way to escape.” Wes rose his head, slightly in hope, slightly because he knew that what was coming wasn’t good news.

“I’m going to send a Time Ship. The four of you are to return to the year 3000 immediately.” Alex said.

“Wait…the four of us?” Trip asked. They all turned to Wes, whose look of shock was only to mask the fact he knew it was going to happen. “What about Wes?” Lucas asked. Alex turned away from the Holoscreen, a small smile spreading across he face. “Unfortunately…” he said, putting his serious voice back on. “He is not from the year 3000. He must stay in his own time.” Wes looked down again, knowing there was no hope. Jen turned to Wes distraughtly, not believing what she what she had just heard. “I urge you to prepare to return. You must leave before the Time Hole begins to open. And Wes?” Wes looked up, clinging to his last tiny string of hope. “I’m sorry, there’s no other way.” He said. But inside, he claimed a personal victory over his DNA clone. The Holoscreen went blank and the four Time Force Rangers turned to Wes. They all say nothing. Instead, Wes turns from them and tries to stay composed, even if though he knew there was no hope for himself.

On Ransik’s Prison Ship, his troops were preparing for battle. Ransik stands above armies of Cyclobots. “THIS traitor must PAY! Leave NO stone unturned! SEARCH every corner of the CITY! Every SHADOW, everywhere he might hide! FIND FRAX!" The Cyclobots started moving their arms up in down in unison and started to move out.

Silver Hills was already in shambles. The menacing time hole swirled overhead. Three building got pulled from their foundations and sucked into the sky. The four Time Force rangers from the year 3000 are also sucked into the portal. Wes looks in horror from the ground as Jen gets sucked in. “WWESSS!” She yelled as she got destroyed.

“NO, JEN!” Wes sat straight up in bed. Sweat pored down his forehead. He couldn’t lose Jen. There had to be another way. He ran his hand through his damp hair. He heard the team arguing beneath him. He quietly got up and peered over the balcony. “You heard what Alex’s orders were…we have to make a decision now…and it has to be unanimous.” Jen said. “Now who’s in?”

“Count me in.” Lucas said. Trip nodded. “I am.”

“Me too.” Katie said. Jen nodded as Wes came down the steps. “Then it’s settled.”

“What are you guys doing up?” Wes asked. Jen turned to him. “Wes…we’ve decided to stay in the year 2001.”

“What?” Wes asked. “But…you have to…Alex said…”

“Wes..” Jen started, but Trip interrupted her. “Wes, if you can make your own…then so can we!” He said enthusiastically.

“We’re going to stay and fight…together.” Lucas said. Jen walked up and gripped Wes’ sweaty shoulders. “We’re a team, Wes…no matter what.”

“Wow…” Wes said, somewhat surprised. “Just…wow, you guys. This is awesome.”

*********

“Wes…wake up.” Jen gently shook him. Wes slowly woke up. “Jen?”

“Yeah.”

“What are you doing?” Wes asked as he looked as his alarm clock. “It’s 2:00.”

“Wes…there’s something I need to tell you.” Jen said. Wes stood up, suddenly awake. “Yeah…”

“Wes, I…” She started, but once again, the words hung on the tip of her tongue. “I…” She tried again. “I…I’m going to miss you too, when we do go back to the future.” She said. Wes sighed. “Yeah, me too Jen. Me too.”

“You don’t understand how much I’ll miss you.” Jen said. Wes suddenly perked up. “I mean…Wes…there’s something that’s really been bugging me…and it’s been bothering me for a really long time. Wes…I have these…these feelings for you.”

“Feelings?” Wes asked. Jen nodded. “Feelings. And…not just regular friend feelings. Wes…there’s been something about you since the first time I met you that…that’s irked me in a weird way, you know? And I can’t put my finger on it…but…your really special to me Wes. More than Lucas or Katie or Trip…or Alex.” She said. Wes’ eyes widened. He realized, in her own way, what Jen was saying. “Jen…I feel the same way.” He said. Jen smiled. “Wes, I l…” she stopped short again. For the life of her she couldn’t understand why she couldn’t say what she’d been wanting to say. “Jen…it’s okay.” Wes said. “I know.” He said. Jen smiled and a tear rolled down her cheek. Wes wiped it away. “Come on, the tough fearless Pink Ranger doesn’t cry.” He teased. Jen laughed despite herself. “I won’t leave you, Wes.”

”But Jen…”

“I’m not leaving you.” Jen said. Wes sighed. “But Alex said…”

“I know what Alex said. Alex has been wrong in the past. Wes…we can’t leave you hear alone. You’ll get seriously hurt…or worse…” Jen said. Wes sighed. “I know. And I’m glad your staying to help…but I don’t want you to get hurt either. Maybe…maybe this is my destiny. Jen…maybe it is my destiny to…”

“No.” Jen said. “It’s not.”

“Jen.”

“Wes, it’s not.” Jen said. Wes sighed heavily as Jen looked into his eyes. Jen kissed Wes, not fully sure of what she was doing. Wes pulled away. “Whoa…Jen…”

“Shh.” Jen said. “Just…don’t say anything. You’ll ruin the mood.” Jen teased. Jen stood up and Wes frowned. “Where are you going?”

“To bed. We have a big day ahead of us.” Jen said. Wes sighed. “Yeah. Sleep. Right.”

“You didn’t think we were about to…” Jen started, and Wes shook his head. Jen rolled her eyes and crawled into the cot next to Wes. “Don’t expect anything to happen.” She said.

“I won’t.” Wes said. And truthfully, he didn’t. Just laying there with Jen, knowing what was coming in the very near future was all he needed. Wes sighed heavily. He was thinking of a plan in his head, one that would keep them out of trouble, whether she wanted it our not…

Liked it. Piece of advice though. I found it hard to tell who was speaking and when, take a new paragraph when a different character speaks.
