However, it is his ability to put aside his faults for the best of the team that helped them defeat Lord Zedd and the Immortal Vast forces. While he was reluctant at first to adapt a new fighting style, Zack eventually gave in and took up training under Trini's Uncle Howard in the Chi-Quan martial art.

However, in one of the first battles against the Gorma Tribe, Zack would fall in battle, leaving the team broken and unsure in the face of impending doom.

Tommy received the power of the Ausarian White Ranger from its original bearer, Tygrin, to battle the Gorma Tribe. With the White Tiger Ranger powers, Tommy controls Saba, a sentient weapon, and the White Tiger ThunderZord.

Ever the inventor, Billy has created new technologies for the Rangers as contingencies for many of their weapons and technologies, many of which the Rangers have no knowledge of. Billy also secretly desires to be a Power Ranger, but has yet to let anyone know of his dreams of becoming one of Earth's defenders.

Born the son of an Eltarian Senator and the King of the Yamato Tribes, Zordon was rather advanced for his age, learning to speak and walk before the age of one. Little else is known about his background, other than the fact that he was chosen to become the first Red Ranger in over a millennia.

Zordon would go on to become one of the most legendary warriors of Eltar, earning the jealousy of his former comrade, Sih Caien Zedd, who pledged his own services to the evil Immortal Vast. Zordon was soon promoted to the rank of Morphing Master and allowed to choose a Ranger team of his own, to lead against the attacking Immortal Vast. It was during this time that Lord Zedd was defeated and sentenced to the Crimson Sepulchre.

Following the defeat of Zedd and the Immortal Vast, Zordon went into isolation, drawing up his ideas and concepts for his Master Plan. Zordon remained incognito for a number of years, until enacting the first phase of his Master Plan and journeying to the distant world we now call Earth.

Upon his arrival, Zordon discovered the witch Bandora, who was committing acts of atrocity on the peoples of Earth and the creatures known as Dinosaurs. Zordon quickly called for backup and was aided by a group of warriors known as the Order of the Sion, a Ranger-like group hailing from the planet Mars. During this battle, the witch cast an incantation of Zordon, driving his soul from his body, as she was killed.

Upon completion of his command center, Zordon’s trusted assistant, the Tryforian automaton, ALPHA 5, used the base’s matrix systems to locate Zordon’s interdimensional signature and establish a link to his ethereal form, using a massive ion viewing tube and ion projectors, allowing Zordon to communicate with our dimension.

ABILITIES

Due to his interdimensional existence, Zordon was able to monitor the galaxy by way of entering the Morphing Grid. It was this link that allowed Zordon to have sort of pre-cognition, although shadows in the Morphing Grid, caused by the advancement of the enemy, would occasionally blind the Morphing Master to their plans.

Lord Zedd is the Supreme Commander of the Immortal Vast legions, second only to Emperor Nereus. Little is known concerning his current condition of being bereaved of his flesh, only the fact that an aura projected from his silver exoskeleton is paramount to his health.

Born a human on the world of Eltar, Zedd eventually swore eternal loyalty to then Emperor Maelstrom, becoming a General in the Immortal Vast. Following his baptism into the Immortal Vast, Zedd battled his arch enemy, the prince of Eltar, Zordon, and his teams of Power Rangers across the stars before his eventual defeat. Following his capture, Zedd was sentenced to an eternal sleep in the Crimson Sepulchre, to be judged by the Eltarian gods at the end of time.

However, a mining facility on the surface of the now desolate Eltar happened upon a chamber holding the Sepulchre, which drew the attention of the new order of the Immortal Vast, under the leadership of Emperor Nereus. Lord Zedd was then released from his imprisonment and allowed to take vengeance against the one responsible for his defeat- Zordon of Eltar.

FIRE AND ICE

After his rebirth in 30 MC (30th Age of the Calender of Meladon), Zedd launched a full campaign against the Earth, which was soon backed by Emperor Nereus and the rest of the Immortal Vast forces. During this time, the dark lord obtained a human teenager of his own to battle Zordon's Rangers. Tommy Oliver became the first Dragon Ranger in over twelve-thousand years and was manipulated into serving Zedd. During this time, Zedd learned the truth of his master's murder and punished Emperor Nereus with death.

Zedd also learned the location of the world-devastating entity, Cyclopsis, from his master and sought to claim its evil for his own glory. However, Cyclopsis was overcome by the Red Ranger- unleashing an evil not even Zedd could have anticipated. However, Lord Zedd was then confronted by his puppet, the Dragon Ranger, who held Zedd accountable for turning on his friends and nearly destroyed the love of his life. Tommy defeated Zedd, ultimately loading his consciousness into the dark lord's own Lapseless Chamber dimension, and severing the link to his body.

ABILITIES

Lord Zedd has an un-natural link to the Morphing Grid, as well as possession of the Almsteen Band, a ring of power that grants him supernatural abilities.

A powerful Ranger, he is aided by the Riser creature known as Kans, who, when travels through the energy portal known as Fury Gates, transforms from a biomechanical Riser into a Zord-like machine, who can form with the Battle Ranger (imbued and grown by the Fury Gate as well) into the Riser MegaZord.

His main weapon is the Battle Scepter and can produce a stunning array of energy attacks.

Lisandra Arcina was born on the distant desert-world of Akuanima, a planet dotted with granite temples, pyramids, and sprawling, beautiful cities. The exotic race of humans, known as the Nima, were promised a thousand years of prosperity by their ancient gods. However, at the peak of the planet's civilization, a sinister, reptilian race from the depths of space, known as the Torin, swept the Nima aside in one night, destroying their land and burning their cities. Within hours, Lisandra found herself the sole survivor of an entire world.

The High Marshal of the Torin took Lisandra as his slave and trained her in deadly arts only known to the Torin themselves. They also bestowed her with the powers of a creature found on many planets in many galaxies: the scorpion. Simply known now as Scorpina, she fought beside the Torin forces and helped claim countless worlds for the High Marshal.

One campaign, however, brought them to the world of Tryforia. It was there that the Torin were met with resistance from the Grand Army of Tryforia and a team of warriors known as the Kamen Riders. During the fighting, Lisandra found herself face to face with a man known as Auric the Conqueror, a mighty warrior of Tryforia. However, once Auric had defeated Lisandra, he found himself smitten and convinced her to come with him. The Torin waged their final battle on the darkened plains of Tryforia where they were soundly defeated.

Auric asked Lisandra to be his life partner and the two shared many years together ... however, the romance was short lived. Auric pledged his allegiance to the rebel leader, Koron Jaiden as Tryforia was pushed into civil war. Zordon of Eltar and a team of Rangers quickly fought to restore democratic rule to the people of Tryforia. In the process, Auric was killed in battle and Lisandra was taken in by Jaiden himself. In his service, Lisandra has waited for thousands of years to exact her revenge on Zordon of Eltar.

FIRE AND ICE

During 30 MC (The Thirtieth Calender of the Meladon), Lisandra was given as a gift of support to Lord Zedd by King Jaiden to aide the dark lord in defeating the Power Rangers. However, Lisandra was killed by Zedd as she failed to defeat the invading Green Ranger, who ultimately defeated Zedd's Master Warrior, Primator, and the dark lord himself.

Primator is the prototype of the PRIMATOR series cyborg program, funded by the Immortal Vast and personally overseen by Chanmiral Recinas. Primator’s android body was superhuman strong and is capable of withstanding energy blasts operating up to two-hundred fifty thousand ampherebands. Should it be destroyed, Primator’s memories would be able to be loaded into a new body. His computer-like positronic brain allowed him to choose the best strategy in all circumstances. With armor upgrades provided by Lord Zedd’s scientists, he was also capable of lifting large armored vehicles and capable of withstanding artillery fire.

Primator’s origins can be traced back to the Immortal Vast program, Primal Storm, which genetically engineered tribal warriors from the world of Kurog, upgraded with the cutting edge of cybernetic and artificial intelligence technology. The body is then ‘grown’ onto a skeleton formed of pure Irandanim, which is virtually indestructible.

However, Primator was disposed of by the Green Power Ranger, Tommy Oliver. As a result, the PRIMATOR program was discontinued in favor of new cyborg research programs.

During his lordship, Nereus became involved in protecting several worlds in the system from the greedy oil federations. One of those planets was the dark and uninhabited world of Carinasia. As a secret follower of the Dairaku religion, Nereus believed it was the will of the goddess Jenova for him to claim the world for her glory.

Soon, Nereus staged his own death at the hands of the Sons of the Hurai terrorists and joined the ranks of the Immortal Vast. It was during this time that he began drawing up the plans to colonize Carinasia, claiming it as the Crest World of the Immortal Vast. After a few years, Nereus had schemed and plotted his way to the rank of General . . . however, only two others remained in his way.

Supreme Commander Zedd was, at the time, locked in battle with the Zyraku Rangers of Eltar and their leader, Prince Zordon. Plotting with a mercenary by the name of Deviot, Nereus orchestrated the assassination of Emperor Maelstrom before abandoning the campaign against Eltar and retreating to the new Crest World. There, with Maelstrom dead and Zedd captured and imprisoned, he was named the new Emperor of the dark legions.

FIRE AND ICE

With the discovery of Zedd's imprisonment chamber, Nereus ordered for it to be opened and Zedd released. Nereus planned on using Zedd's personal agenda against Zordon of Eltar to give him a strategic advantage against the Earth and its forces. However, Nereus soon discovered that Zordon had drafted a new team of Rangers. He then decided to personally oversee the invasion of Earth. During this time, Zedd became aware of Nereus's involvement in the death of his former master. Zedd confronted the Emperor of the dark legions and killed him for his transgressions against him and his master, Maelstrom.

Orphaned at an early age, Yataras was taken in by a Dairakun priest, where he was baptized Maelstrom, the Vortex of Darkness. Under the guidance of the Varoxe priests, Maelstrom began to learn the secrets of the Dairaku . . . and ushered in a new age.

As the Dairakun Knights were overwhelmed by the joint forces of the Ranger Armies, the Kamen Riders of Tryforia, and the Meltadar Forces of Keilraia, they fled to the distant world of Yotaba. There, Maelstrom drew his plans to reform the Dairakun into a mighty empire known as the Immortal Vast.

Little is known as to the birth of the dark legions, as no records were kept and no survivors were ever found. However, one of the first recorded appearances of the Immortal Vast was their attack on the world of Eltar. It was here that now Emperor Maelstrom seduced the Dragon Zyraku Ranger, Sih Caien Zedd, to his cause, making him a General over his armies. Using a mighty weapon named the Dairaku Cannon, the Immortal Vast wiped out the entire population of Eltar, leaving it a cold and barren ‘ghost-world.’

Following their victory at Eltar, the Immortal Vast moved its fleet to the world of Collavaria. However, the Rangers soon retaliated, battling the Immortal Vast forces across the stars. Before the Dairaku Cannon could be reactivated and moved to the Collavarian system, Maelstrom was murdered by the mercenary Deviot, a move orchestrated by the hand of his most trusted General, Blakus Nereus.

FIRE AND ICE

Even in death, Maelstrom still seeks vengeance for those who betrayed him and sought out those loyal to him. With his apprentice, Lord Zedd, freed of his eternal prison, Maelstrom sought to glorify his dark goddess and punish those responsible for his untimely demise. He revealed to Zedd the location of the great destroyer, Cyclopsis, while naming his murderer, Emperor Nereus. Zedd sought revenge and killed Nereus . . . however, his efforts against Prince Zordon and his Rangers were ultimately unsuccessful, with Zedd now imprisoned in his own Lapseless Chamber.

His fascination with the dark lord led him to become a devout follower of the Dairaku religion and he soon traveled to Carinasia to join the Immortal Vast.

Tieana was one of the top commanders of Zedd's campaign against the Earth and Zordon's Power Rangers. However, in the final battle, Tieana retreated the Immortal Vast forces to the world of Carinasia to regroup following their defeat.

Jaiden also founded a program to cross-mutate certain species of creatures throughout the known universe to create specimens who serve him with unending loyalty. To contest the various Ranger teams scattered throughout the galaxies, who pilot assault vehicles known as Zords, each mutant is created with a special chemical in their blood that when exposed to a certain type of radiation would ‘grow’ the mutants to colossal sizes to battle the Zords.

Special sattlelites are launched into orbit around planets where the mutants are attacking that possess SATA (Space Array Tissue Augmentation) Lasers. These sattlelites hit the mutants with focused beams of radiation that in turn transform the mutants into Zord-sized monsters.

Jaiden is also the mortal enemy of the Kamen Riders of Tryforia, the remaining resistance against the Confederacy of Allied Tribes. He resides in a lush palace, Kenstrai, one of the last standing structures on Tryforia's storm-swept landscape.

Heath Boyd is a former quarterback for the Stone Canyon Eagles who moves to Angel Grove after his dad takes a position as a deputy for the Angel Grove Police Department. Heath excels at all sports, but his favorite is baseball. He is known for his game-winning curve ball.

However, following an altercation with the Red Power Ranger, Jason Scott, Heath was chosen by Lord Zedd to become his new Dragon Ranger. However, after serving as Zedd's enforcer and his Dragon Ranger, he was confronted by the former Dragon Ranger, Tommy Oliver. Tommy stole the powers from Heath and he was soon overcome by separation sickness. Without a proper transfer of the powers, he began to hallucinate and eventually committed suicide.

NOTE- Heath is a character from the Power Rangers Turbo episode, The Curveball, in which TJ meets Heath, a baseball player who just moved to Angel Grove and is known for his curveball. TJ has to learn to hit the curveball in order to defeat Divatox's Strikeout monster.

Carinasia is a darkened and toxic world on the edge of the Collavarian System. The planet is home to deadly atmospheric gases that are regulated by massive orbs that hover in the sky. It has several small seas in the lower hemisphere that are brimming with giant lifeforms.

As part of the colonization by Emperor Maelstrom, under the design of his General, Blakus Nereus, giant Stratablocks were constructed over the planet's surface to house the Imperial population. In fact, only the Imperial Palace and grounds actually sit on the planet's surface.

Carinasia is said to be a focal point for Dairaku energies, hence the creation and construction of the Pyramids of Orion, which harness the dark energy.

Eltar was once a lush, Earth-like planet home to the reptilian humanoid race, the Eltarians. It is here that the tradition of harnessing the spiritual energies of sacred animals by tapping into the mystic energy field known as the Power, thereby becoming Power Rangers, was founded.

At its height of existence, Eltar was the most populated and advanced planet in the Eurolean Constellation. However, the world was plagued by attacks from the Dairakun Knights and finally the Immortal Vast. Following the attack of the Immortal Vast, using the Dairaku Cannon, Eltar was left barren and lifeless- nothing survived.

However, prudent preparations had led to the escape of the Eltarian heads of state before the planet was stripped of life, who then settled the nearby world of Entara.

Following Lord Zedd's defeat and the disappearance of the Immortal Vast, the Eltarian High Council began to draw up plans to transform the barren Eltarian homeworld into a ecumenopolis, living above the dead surface. However, the Council was fought by several Morphing Masters, stating that the planet would now be forever known as a 'grave world' and that such activity would desecrate its sanctity.

However, the High Council would soon lease out portions of Eltar to the oil federations to fund their own urbanization of Entara.

Tryforia

Tryforia was once home to a unique human race of trifold beings who existed in three different bodies instead of only one. The three different bodies, and their accompanying personalities, were normally joined as one but could be split into three. Once split into three, it was a very difficult and sometimes painful process to rejoin.

However, the native Tryforians are nearly extinct, hunted down and enslaved by crime regimes from the nearby world of Equuise.

Following its great planetary civil war, Tryforia has no main government- instead, it is divided into territories reigned over by kings and lords. A majority of the population lives in the planet's vast network of canyons, in large terraformed cities.

Aquatar

At one point in the past, a majority of the planet was covered with huge glaciers, which eventually melted. Aquitian technology allow the planet's inhabitants to live in large underwater cities, protected by large forcefield domes.

The Capital City of Corinth rests in the Nevian Sea. There are some islands still above water on Aquatar and house large telecommunication devices. Millions of years ago, an asteroid struck the planet, creating a large impact crater that created the Eternal Falls. The Eternal Falls is a large round waterfall, where the seas of Aquatar empty into large underwater caverns, connected to the seas.

Entara is a world, once home to a noble race of creatures that, like the Eltarians, were reptilian humanoids who worshiped the energy field known as the Power. However, while the Eltarians were willing and able to adapt alien technology for their own use, the Entarans shunned the use of any such technology, other than their own creation. Some theorize this unwillingness to adapt is what led to their mysterious disappearance, leaving only their stone temples and architecture for the universe to behold.

Entara had previously been a sanctuary for the priests of Eltar, until the Immortal Vast wiped out the population. The Eltarians who were off world during the attack soon called Entara home, even calling it 'Neo-Eltar' at times. Here, they began colonizing the world and establishing a new republic for the free tribes of Eltar.

Bionas

Named for the Nelandian god of the elements, Bionas is best known for its moon, Bionas 4, which was the location of one of the Immortal Vast's key shipyards. Of its overall total of 26, Bionas has two other moons that are habitable; Bionas 8 and Bionas 13.

A bright red gas giant, Bionas's atmosphere is made up of thick clouds swept about by violent, hurricane-force winds. Any craft that enters the atmosphere without benefit of a tracking beacon will quickly become lost, its pilot disoriented by the buffeting winds. It is believed these storms last all the way to the surface without letting up. The immense atmospheric pressure is also something to contend with, and can easily crush an unprotected ship.

Buruthon

History

The roots of modern Angel Grove trace back to the founding of the Archangel Mission by British settlers led by St. Rafael Olivier Archangel on the Levy Peninsula in 1771, under direction by Pope Innocent XI. However, with the Revolutionary Wars beginning, and most of the colonial soldiers returning to the east, the mission was vulnerable and was soon forgotten by the thirteen colonies.

Then, on August 28, 1793, the township of Angel Grove was founded by Captain James Cook, after successfully exploring and settling the Hawaiian Islands. Cook, however, died two months later, while preparing to return to England.

However, in 1804, Californian governor Pio Pico made the nearby San Angeles City Alta California’s regional capital. The Californios, however, soon occupied Angel Grove, as well as San Angeles. During this time, Angel Grove was the sight of several mysterious encounters with celestial beings the people called ‘angels’, who managed to liberate the town from Mexican rule. However, such a claim cannot be proven, as the military forces occupying the Peninsula were also directed to San Angeles near the end of the Mexican-American war.

Then, in 1847, the Treaty of Cahuenga was signed at Campo Desfiladero de Piedra and Americans took control of the Levy Peninsula. In 1876, the Southern Pacific railroad company completed its line to Angel Grove. The completion of the line was followed by the discovery of oil in 1892, and by 1923, Angel Grove was producing one quarter of the world’s petroleum.

Geography & Geology

Angel Grove is located on the West Coast of the USA at the tip of Levy Peninsula, stretching across the Santa Carta channel onto the mainland and includes significant stretches of the Pacific Ocean and Angel Grove Bay within its boundaries. Shuki Island, which is home to the Axelrod Penitentiary, is also a part of the city.

Angel Grove is also subject to earthquakes, due to its location in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The geologic instability produces numerous fault lines both above and below ground, which altogether cause approximately 10,000 earthquakes every year. One of the major fault lines is the San Angeles Fault. Located at the boundary between the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, it is predicted to be the source of Southern California’s next big earthquake.

Cityscape

The city is divided into many neighborhoods, many of which were towns that were annexed by the growing city. There are also several independent cities in and around Angel Grove, but they are popularly grouped within the city of Angel Grove, either due to being completely engulfed as enclaves by Angel Grove, or lying within its immediate vicinity. Generally, the city is divided into the following areas: Downtown Angel Grove, which is at the heart of the Levy Peninsula, Stone Canyon, which serves as a geographic boundary between Angel Grove and San Angles Counties, the Industrial Harbor, Angel Cove, and the San Fernando Valley.

Some well known communities of Angel Grove include Angel Heights, the Downtown Financial and Commercial Districts, the Civic District, Silver Lake, and the more affluent areas of Angel Hills, Angel Gove, the Pacific Palisades, Regan Creek, and Brentwood.

Sports

Angel Grove is the home of the Angel Grove Angels of Major League Baseball, the Angel Grove Saints of the National Hockey League, the Angel Grove Breakers of the National Football League, and the Angel Grove Guardians of the National Basketball Association. Angel Grove once hosted the summer Olympic Games, in 1984. Super Bowls I and VII were also held in the city, as well as soccer’s international World Cup in 1994.

Angel Grove also boasts a number of sports venues, including the Celestion Center, a sports and entertainment complex that also hosts concerts and awards shows such as the Grammys. Celestion Center also serves as the home arena for the Angel Grove Guardians of the NBA and the Angel Grove Saints of the NHL.

Transportation

Angel Grove is connected to the mainland of California by two bridges: the Harbor Bridge in the west, connecting the Downtown Financial and Commercial Districts to the Civic District on the mainland, and Robert L. Manahan Memorial Bridge on the east side. Angel Grove is also home to a public light rail light, the Angel Grove Monorail, which services the downtown area on the peninsula.

HISTORY

Upon his arrival at an unknown point in the past, presumably in the Late Cretaceous period, Zordon of Eltar commissioned the construction of an outpost for his never-ending struggle against evil. It was during this time that Zordon battled the witch Bandora, alongside a group of warriors called the Order of the Sion. Once she was defeated and killed, her undead spirit cast an incantation of Zordon, driving his soul from his body.

Upon completion of the base, Zordon’s trusted assistant, ALPHA 5, used the base’s matrix systems to locate Zordon’s interdimensional signature and establish a link to his ethereal form, using a massive ion viewing tube and ion projectors. His comatose corporeal form was then isolated within an environment-controlled clean room.

Once the center was fully operational and Zordon’s Master Plan was drawn, entrusted to the Edenoite automaton, several sensors were launched into space, to monitor for any signs of galactic strife.

DESIGN

The origins of the command center’s architectural style date back to the palaces and temples of the Eltarian Kingdom, known for their use of use of expressive forms in thin shell permacrete, white walls, simple materials, and natural light. The style dates back to the early style of Eltarian Architect, Arn Khitomer.

FUNCTION

The geographic isolation of the command center helps protect it from roaming eyes, as does a cloaking shield which makes the entire compound invisible from above, making it impossible to locate from the sky.

THE POWER CHAMBER

At the heart of the structure is the oval-shaped Power Chamber. Brightly lit, it is accessible by a set of large, sliding double doors at its north and west ends, each leading to corridors which access the main entrances of the center. The Power Chamber is also home to Zordon’s ion tube, set at the south wall of the chamber. On the east wall is a hypermodern medical bay, featuring a fully functional health monitoring system and medicinal synthesizer.

Set in a circle around the main dais of the chamber are the individual stations of the command center’s supercomputer network. Here, all the individual systems, including scanning and teleporting can be accessed and monitored.

Cyclopsis

Titles: The Hunter, The Last son of Jenova, The One, The Eternal

Before time began, the Sons of Jenova plagued the first civilizations of the Hyperion Constellation. Their origins clouded in mystery, they soon came to be known as the Ten Terrors. The terrors reigned supreme for a thousand years, during a time recorded as the Archaic Epoch. Little is known as to what happened to the other terrors, but after a period of war, only Cyclopsis, the Last son of Jenova, would remain.

Soon after, a race of sentient biomechanical warriors called the Trions entrapped the terror in a barren asteroid named Prometheus and set it on a course that would keep the asteroid from coming in close proximity to any civilized star systems. Within his cold and icy prison, Cyclopsis has slumbered for millions of years, biding his time until he can once again bathe the known universe in the blood of innocents.

Cyclopsis has been known to destroy entire starships lured in by mysterious sounds produced by its hammer/trumpet known as the Hammer of Itassis. It also possesses the Fire of Oculous, a mighty energy fire that seemingly can burn through any material. It also has long blades on its forearms that can extend out for battle. One of its main powers, however, is the ability to repel all forms of energy.

Lokar, also known as Legur (or Master of the Deaths), was the greatest of the Fallen. He fell from glory when he defied the will of the ancient Celestials. Lokar corrupted many of the Celestials to his allegiance, fought the god Titanus, and corrupted much of the universe. His wars against the Men of our realm encompassed much of the history of the First Order. Eventually, Lokar was defeated, his body burned in the star Nelandia and his eternal soul was transferred into the indestructible monstrosity, Cyclopsis.

Upon Cyclopsis awakening and arrival on Earth, the god Titanus became aware of the threat of Lokar's release and appeared to the Rangers once Cyclopsis was defeated and the great demon released. Titanus took the form of a Zord and together with the Zords of the Power Rangers, sacrificed himself to destroy the great demon.

Titanus is one of the oldest of the celestials and has the ability to choose any form he so desires. Before the War of the Fallen, Titanus was entrusted with the creation of the first races of men to populate the universe. However, as Lokar and the other thirteen celestials defied the will of the god Roromen, Titanus became a great warrior, imprisoning the Fallen along with the rest of his order.

Once the races of men were set amongst the stars, Titanus and the other celestials left the known universe and kept a watchful eye from the realm of Alar. However, once Lokar, the greatest of the Fallen, was released, Titanus appeared to the Rangers of Earth as a great Zord in the semblance of a Brachiosaurus. Using the Rangers' Zords, Titanus ultimately sacrificed himself to destroy the demon Lokar.

From Fire and Ice

The god Titanus considered the full weight of his sacrifice and could hear the words of the ancient celestials echoing into his consciousness.

‘You are a god with a hero complex,’ they had told him on many occasions. However true the words may have been, Titanus had refused to take his position for granted. Entrusted with the creation of the first races of humanity, he had done what he could to make sure his ‘hero complex’ would be carried on in the hearts of men. As evidenced by the Red Ranger’s agreement to further empower Titanus with the might of their Zord fleet, he had succeeded.

CREATURES ENTRY (Kyrin Dragons & Risers)

Kyrin Dragons

For thousands of years, Kyrin Dragons were hunted out of the skies of Nelandia for their leathery skins and precious tusks. Kyrin skin became the most versatile and durable of all organic materials, contesting even synthetics such as neo-leather. Kyrin tusks can be worn as jewelry, which are regarded for their healing abilities. They can also be worn down into powder and taken orally to relive common pain, such as headaches and body aches.

Risers

Risers are large flying creatures that soar through the skies of the planet Tryforia. They are known to live in dark caves and deep canyons and have a very rough and thick skin that protects them from most predators. Risers are also unique for their ability to travel through space and to even travel into hyperspace through portals in a dimension known as the Lucent Horizon.

The Lucent Horizon is a safe haven for all Risers from the time they are born. They can soar between dimensions and interstellar planes as easy as humans can walk between rooms. At a certain age, Risers develop what is known as a Hatch, or an internal pouch where they house their young when they are traveling through space. However, once a Riser has given birth, the Hatch loses all of its mucus lining and becomes a hollow, rocky compartment that humans use when they ride Risers from world to world. Risers also have the ability to ride the energy waves produced by starships. Most Risers are domesticated by Tryforians after they have their first birth.

THE IMMORTAL VAST

The Immortal Vast is a military power mostly, but is also a government. It has officers and soldiers alike and each are broken up into rank. The militant units will be listed at a later so this is strictly to explain the officer ranks. They are generally identified by a man wearing the typical black material in his uniform. Bears his rank by colored stripes on his sleeves and leg sides. The shirts are zipped up in the front and have raised shoulderpads. On the right breast is the Crest of Carin and below that, the identification marker assigned to that officer. Each officer also has MAW grade armor that they can wear in battle.

Sergeant- White stripes

Lieutenant- Red stripes
Sergeants and Lieutenants are usually over a squadron of MAW troops. Most Sergeants are in basic military armor, but a few are trained and operate only as officers.

Mon-Lieutenant- Blue stripes
Mon-Lieutenants are simply officers assigned to govern Sergeants and Lieutenants.

Commander- Two red stripes
Commanders assign troop squadrons and vehicle fleets.

All following officers wear white uniforms.

Admiral- Black stripes
Admirals usually run starships. Usually serve the Chanmirals and stay at their sides.

Mon-Admiral- Purple stripes
Mon-Admirals usually govern fleets of starships.

Chanmiral- Gold stripes
Chanmirals oversee specific operations and entire planets. Almost like a Governor.

Mon-Chanmiral- Crimson uniform with black stripes
Mon-Chanmirals are mightier than any officer in terms of influence and command. Most never leave the homeworld of Carinasia. They are basically senators and each are assigned their own starship with a full faction of officers and soldiers for protection and carrying out the orders of the Mon-Chanmiral.

MAW Troops are the basic grunts of the Immortal Vast. In a galaxy where most basic war soldiers are either clones or massive droid machines, the MAW Troops are a sophisticated choice, who can think creatively like a clone, but follows orders without question.

Originally conceived as a dimensional plane for the practical storage of weapons and equipment, it became much more. The original Eltarian Zyraku Rangers were empowered by a mystical energy field they called the Zyraku, or Power. When the Dairakun Knights were driven back to the depths of space, the Zyraku Rangers went into seclusion, whispering the secrets of their arts and practices to a select few. Through hundreds of years, their fold was forgotten. When Prince Zordon resurrected their cause to battle the Immortal Vast, technology had come far enough to produce morphers, sophisticated armored uniforms, Zords, and the Morphing Grid.

But with the creation of the grid, it was discovered that this dimensional plane enhanced the abilities given by the Zyraku energy. Events past, present, and future could be observed. Special matrix computers were designed to work with this Morphing Grid to act as not only a manager for storage within the plane but as a precognitive alarm system.

Once Zordon’s personal battle with the former Dragon Ranger, Sih Caien Zedd, had drawn to an end with Zedd’s imprisonment in the Crimson Sepluchre, Zordon's quest to rid the universe of evil led him to the planet Earth. There, an evil witch from the Helix Nebula sought to destroy the Earth and its prehistoric inhabitants. Her name was Bandora and she led a campaign against the Earth with her armies of rock golems and massive creatures. As she was defeated and killed, her undead spirit cast an incantation of Zordon, driving his soul from his body. Acting quickly, his trusted aide, ALPHA 5 preserved his body for the day they would be able to reunite it with his spirit. Zordon was lost among the stars, a soul robbed of his humanity. Through sheer determination, he found his way to the Morphing Grid. Through the matrix systems, Zordon was able to communicate with this dimension and became the ethereal mage he is today.

TELEPORTING

Teleporting or teleportation can be simply described as the process of moving objects from one place to another more or less instantaneously, without using conventional transportation. For the Power Rangers Saga series, teleporting can be separated by the types of systems that provide the service and the energy those systems use. So far, there are three major types of teleporting in the Power Rangers Saga.

Eltarian-Energy-Based Teleportation or EEBT. (Used by the Power Rangers)

This teleporting technique utilizes the Morphing Grid to open gateways between the matrix systems of the command center and anywhere in the world where there is an emergency. The Rangers teleport in beams of light, colored specifically to match their Ranger powers by the individual systems located within their Power Morphers. For non-Rangers who are teleported using this system, their energy beams usually are colorless and appear as white light.

SPIN (Strategic Personal Instant Neural-Transfer) Portals. (Used by the Immortal Vast)

The difference between SPIN and EEBT teleporting is that one utilizes the Morphing Grid, where as one uses basic quantum teleporting. SPIN portal gateways are opened by special computers stored within Lord Zedd’s lunar palace. The energy that opens these portals is distinctively red in color and appear as red pinpoints, one for each traveler, that spin open with an erratic display of light.

Hypervole. (Used throughout the known galaxies)

Hypervole teleporting is a slower, yet stronger form of teleporting that operates basically the same as quantum teleporting, but relies on the theory of hyperspace as the source for this travel. Hypervole traveling is the same as traveling through hyperspace by means of a hyperdrive-powered starship, except the traveler is converted into energy and transmitted through hyperspace to a contact point somewhere in the universe.

Zenosystem-Operational Robotic Defender

Zords are colossal mechanical or bio-mechanical robotic assault vehicles. The Zords are often in the shape of animals - sometimes living creatures, sometimes dinosaurs and sometimes mythical beings - as well as vehicles.

What separates the Zords from other robotic mechas is their ability to transform from one form to another and to join together, forming combinations known as MegaZords.

FIRE AND ICE

The original Zord class of the Power Rangers was the DinoZord class, featuring defender machines constructed in the image of ancient creatures such as the Pterodactyl, the Mastodon, the Triceratops, the Saber-Toothed Tiger, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The Zords were also compatible with the Zord of the Green Ranger, the awesome DragonZord.

The god Titanus appeared to the Rangers in the form of a Brachiosaurus DinoZord and, along with the Zords of the six Rangers, became the UltraZord, ultimately sacrificed, along with Titanus, to defeat Lokar.

JUMPGATE TECHNOLOGY

Jumpgates are static emplacements that create an energy vortex, called a Jump Point, to allow vessels to travel to and from hyperspace for interstellar travel. In the PR Saga universe, hyperspace set of dimensions are running parallel to normal space, in which the distances between points are radically shorter. Jump gates also have beacons that allow vessels in hyperspace to lock on to a beacon and avoid getting lost.

Some jumpgates, such as the one near Bromak V, are wormholes which have been harnessed and regulated for interstellar travel.

Kichi is also a very formidable swordsman and is an Eight-dan in Kendo. Kichi was recruited to join the SGS Hunters after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Science and Engineering. The second to join the team, Kichi was soon promoted to Corporal after completing a military training program, alongside the Blue Hunter and his friend, Corporal Caitlin Robinson.

Kichi is usually pretty soft spoken, but takes his Kendo training very seriously. He also refused to conform to SGS dress regulation on hair length, yet follows other regulations and rules to the letter.

Robinson lives off adrenaline, whether it’s riding a wave or hanging a tight curve behind the wheel of an exotic sports car. She joined not soon after the Yellow Hunter, Matt Kichi, who she became friends with as they completed the SGS military training program together. She was promoted to the rank of Corporal following the completion of the program.

Robinson also loves to get her hands dirty working on anything and everything. Her tomboyish attitude usually sets off the male Hunters, who feel threatened by her.

Hayes participated in a military training program and after serving as an EAGLE soldier for one year, he was promoted to Sergeant and became the Red Hunter. Hayes has always dreamed of serving his country and his role within EAGLE and SGS provides him with an opportunity for advancement. He was the first to test out many of the SGS technologies that serve the Hunter team.

Hayes is very loyal and proud of his position within EAGLE and the Hunters and takes his role as their leader very seriously. He has a lighter side, which only Corporal Kichi has seen, as he has been training Hayes in the Kendo martial arts.

Search Guard Systems, or SGS, is a subsidiary of Destine Technologies, which is owned by Karl Ziktor. Dr. Greg Aronowitz is the head of research for the SGS, which is responsible for the retrieval and research of alien technology. It was first founded in 1947 to investigate alien technology found at a UFO crash site at Roswell, New Mexico.

After the appearance of the Power Rangers, SGS was contracted by the UN Earth Guard League to produce technology and weapons for the United States block of EAGLE. This included the creation and training of a specific squadron, the SGS Hunters, with assistance from Dr. Morio Makino of the Japanese EAGLE block. Makino designed the tector technology for the power suits of the Hunters, as well as the Defender vehicles. However, Dr. Aronowitz created the devices for accessing the team’s powers, the Accelluar Tracker, as well as their wealth of sophisticated weaponry.

Greg Aronowitz was first appointed head of research for the SGS branch of Destine Technologies after serving as the head of R&D at Destine. Charged by Colonel Scott Macluran with the creation of a special EAGLE squadron, the SGS Hunters, Aronowitz met with Dr. Dr. Morio Makino of the Japanese EAGLE block to develop the team’s vehicles and suits.

Shortly after, Dr. Aronowitz relocated from the Destine Technologies office in Angel Grove to the deserted Harmson Air Force base near San Angeles. There, with help from. Dr. Makino, Aronowitz developed the weapons and accessories for the SGS Hunters.

EAGLE

The Earth Guard League was first proposed by the United Nations after the threat of aliens became very real, as the Power Rangers first battled Lord Zedd. By the end of the war with Zedd, EAGLE was up and running across the globe. Divided into eight blocks, EAGLE was strategically placed to protect and defend the entire planet, should an alien attack ever occur.

The United States block, lead by Colonel Scott Macluran, began working with Homeland Security to identify and eliminate the ETF (Extraterrestrial Task Force) known as the Power Rangers. Like the Japanese block of EAGLE, lead by Commander Kenpachi, the US block worked quickly to contact SGS (Search Guard Systems), a subsidiary of Destine Technologies, to develop technology for a government super-soldier squadron as a counterpart to the ETF.

Scott Macluran was born in the south and served in the Marine Corps during Operation: Enduring Freedom. Macluran left the war a decorated veteran and war hero and quickly climbed the ranks of the Corps. Once the Power Rangers and Lord Zedd appeared on Earth to carry out their war, Macluran was elected to be an intermediary between the US government and the United Nations. Soon after, once the Earth Guard League was formed, Macluran was selected to head the United States block.

His first act was to transform the neglected and desolate Harmson Air Force Base in San Angeles, California into a super-sophisticated base of operations for his war on extraterrestrial terrorism. Macluran met with Karl Ziktor and signed a contract with Ziktor’s SGS (Search Guard League) to develop the technology for his operation. At the conclusion of the war between Zedd and the Rangers, Macluran met with the President to discuss his plans and the newly discovered ruins of the ancient city of Ausaria.

Defender Vehicles


Following the emergence of a shipwreck off the coast of Japan which held the lost manuscripts of the Renaissance inventor/artist Leonardo Da Vinci, Dr. Morio Makino, along with his mentor, the legendary Japanese scientist and inventor, Dr. Shotaro Ishinomori, began building mechanized vehicles powered by Neo-Parallel Engines, which were based on the five hundred year old designs. Dr. Ishinomori’s own original design concepts for devices and technologies seem to almost predate the appearance of the Power Rangers and their very similar weapon and vehicle concepts.

The first fleet of mechanized vehicles, or Mechas, was constructed for Commander Edogawa Kenpachi’s Goranger squadron. Soon after, Colonel Scott Macluran’s interest in Kenpachi’s super squadron lead to the creation of his own, the SGS Hunters. Macluran chartered Makino to develop and construct a fleet of Mechas for the Hunters, which would be carried and deployed from the Voyager-class EAGLE command vessel Stryker. When the Hunter team was called into active duty, they met Cdr. Kenpachi at the Goranger’s Bouken Base in the South Pacific, where they received their Mechas, the SGS Defenders.

A massive off-road, large capacity haul truck, who’s bed is divided into two separate holds for materials. It also features shovels on the ends of the holds for shoveling materials into the holds.

2. SGS Battletank (Piloted by the Black SGS Hunter)
Height- 29 feet
Width- 37 feet
Length- 65 feet
Weight- 350 tons

Essentially a surface-to-air missile platform, the Battletank is also the fastest of its kind. It can reach speeds of nearly a hundred miles an hour, which is unheard of for a vehicle of its size. It is nicknamed Speed Tanker by its pilot, Samuel Atkins.

3. SGS Gyro (Piloted by the Blue SGS Hunter)
Height- 22 feet
Width- 70 feet
Length- 41 feet
Weight- 290 tons

The SGS Gyro is a massive helicopter that has two turbines flanking the fuselage. Its rotorcraft design was taken from the lost manuscripts of Leonardo Da Vinci, making it a distant cousin of the Varidreen Air Knight vessel. It can reach speeds of mach 3. The Gyro is stored in a hangar atop the Stryker command ship.

4. SGS Loader (Piloted by the Yellow SGS Hunter)
Height- 30 feet
Width- 19 feet
Length- 45 feet
Weight- 130 tons

A heavy bulldozer, the SGS Loader was primarily designed for digging and loading materials. Like the rest of the Defender vehicles, it holds an integrated weapons system within its armored hull.

5. SGS Diver (Piloted by the Pink SGS Hunter)
Height- 26 feet
Width- 19 feet
Length- 72 feet
Weight- UNSPECIFIED

A super sophisticated marine vessel, the Diver has a crew capacity of twenty, making it efficient for carrying the SGS Hunters, as well as a small squadron of EAGLE troops, if necessary.

Voyager-class EAGLE command vessel Stryker
Height- 196 feet
Width- 192 feet
Length- 281 feet
Weight- 9500 tons

The Stryker command ship is an amphibious vessel, also capable of moving on land and is also capable of flight. It sits atop a carrier hold which carries the SGS Defenders into battle (The SGS Gyro is stored in a hangar atop the ship). The ship can separate from the hold for battle. It carries an armament of four Voyager cannons, which are capable of producing blasts that can disintegrate mountains.

Linhau Kaku was disciplined in the art of Chi-Quan, a martial arts style he created as a teen studying under the legendary Master Guhon, as well as Kiryoku and other forms. He developed several distinct styles of Chi-Quan, but never published the form.

Kaku later served as a Chief Officer in the Korean Jiaxu Special Forces, a unit convened to investigate supernatural and paranormal cases throughout North and South Korea. It was there that he taught his five other Jiaxu officers the forms of the Chi-Quan. However, his most promising student and best friend, Ryou Tenkasei, was killed in one of the attacks of the Black Cross terrorist organization.

After the attacks, Linhau moved to Angel Grove to be with his family, most notably, his niece Trini Kwan. It was then that Linhau began teaching Trini and her friends the art of the Chi-Quan.

When a world that has cursed its heroes . . .

“What’s all the excitement about?” Tommy asked, as the center’s patrons rushed to get a better view of the broadcast. As if by response, a male news reporter appeared on the screen, standing before a large concrete memorial, in the shape of an obelisk.

“Today marks the opening of the long awaited Blackstone Memorial, erected here on the outskirts of Angel Grove City, near Highway 101. However, today is more than just the public opening of the Memorial . . . it also marks the third anniversary of the extraterrestrial attack that would prove to be the first strike in the war between the alien forces that settled on our moon and the alien taskforce that’s come to be known as the Power Rangers.

Here, in the Blackstone Valley community, emotions are running high as the families of the victims claimed in that horrific attack come to celebrate the lives of those lost that tragic day. California Governor Collin Agular is set to make a public address in just a few minutes,” the reporter concluded. Jason looked stunned. For the first time in a long time, he felt the weight of his actions bearing down on him.

“I thought you knew,” Trini explained, noticing Jason’s blank stare.

“No . . .” he replied. He swallowed and began to gather his things. “We should be there.”

Cries out for a champion . . .

The skyscrapers of Angel Grove trembled in the shadow of the Koribaan ziggurat as it settled in the sky above the peninsula. Like ants fleeing their extermination, throngs of National Guardsmen escorted the fleeing citizens of Angel Grove while fully armed squadrons defended the retreating convoy.

Will Hayes awoke in the middle of hellstorm between a squadron of Army Rangers and a wave of unscathed Dasa Knights. Through the cracked visor of his tactical helmet, he watched as the knights repelled the rounds fired from the assault rifles of the soldiers. The Red SGS Hunter slowly fought his way to his feet, searching the horizon for any sign of his attack. He reached for his comm activation key and pushed the trigger.

“SGS One to SGS Command . . . requesting backup and medical services . . . as well as bio-armor support systems,” he managed through clenched teeth.

“Ten-twenty-two, SGS One . . . air evac is en route to your location. Fall back from all hostiles and proceed to Harbor Bridge for air support,” the voice echoed into his comm. He grabbed his nearby RS Saber and used it to steady himself.

Caitlin cursed, pain wracking her body as she was helped up by Matt. The Blue and Yellow SGS Hunters stumbled towards their leader, who was helping the Black and Pink Hunters get to their feet.

“What a mess . . .” Matt commented, as the familiar sight of the Varidreen appeared above the battlefield, flanked by a series of fighters.

Who will answer the call?

“No, let’s do more than remember him . . . let’s honor him, not as a fallen teammate, not as a life that was lost . . . but as a Ranger. Let us honor him by reciting the Oath of the Rangers,” Jason instructed. The Oath had been something that Zordon had passed down to the Rangers following their victory over Lord Zedd and the Immortal Vast . . . and each of them had committed the vows to their hearts.

“We stand against dark forces no one will face . . . we stand across worlds, as chains of peace . . . we stand for freedom against prejudice . . . we live for justice . . . and die for its defense . . . we are . . . Rangers of the Power,” they recited together. Before the Rangers could react to their vows, sirens bellowed out into the courtyard. Billy grabbed his Pocket Monitor and accessed the touchscreen. He slid the scanning system off the screen with his index finger and brought up the alarm system. The screen showed a map of Angel Grove, with a red indicator over the tip of the Levy Peninsula.

“There’s a disturbance in the city . . .” he began.

Take shelter . . .

“Your world is in danger . . . but I no longer possess the ability to fight. Your friends have experienced first hand the evil of the Gorma . . .” it continued. The Gorma . . . Tommy recognized the name of the ancient civilization Zordon had warned the Rangers of.

“You will assume the powers in my stead. Do you accept all that is mine, the power to save your world, to save your friends?” the voice asked. Tommy considered the weight of the question for a moment. Before he could answer, his eyes slowly opened, revealing a tall, muscular form standing before him, glowing with a golden aura, holding a white saber out towards him. He reached out and took the weapon.

“I accept.”


For the storm is about to rise . . .

Jason quickly sent power into the blades of the Dragon Dagger and Power Sword, mentally strengthening the Dragon Shield as well. He met Anor and his captains, Aszar and Agorn, as they clashed the heavy, curved blades of their sanagi swords against the razor sharp Zyusoken and Power Sword.

“Die . . .” Anor cursed in a low, growling voice at Jason through his darkened helmet. The Red Ranger leapt above the Rotoran leaders, dodging their deadly blades. He landed and clashed his weapons together, producing a growing spark that consumed the less fortunate Aszar. The Gorma captain fell to the concrete ground, rolling in a vein attempt to suffocate the alien flame.

“You first!” Jason shouted back at Anor, leaping and spinning, the blades of his weapons glowing with energy. Anor parried the attack effortlessly, catching the Red Ranger across the neck with a stiff forearm. Jason hit the ground, the air knocked out of his lungs. Anor stomped the Red Ranger with his full weight, angling his sanagi and slicing Jason across his arm. Jason screamed in pain, blood trickling into the confines of his power suit. He came up to a knee, using the Power Sword to steady himself.

A SCENE FROM THE UPCOMING POWER RANGERS SAGA FANFIC, THE RISING STORM


In the skies above Angel Cove, Anor, the newly appointed commander of the Rotoran, yanked the reigns of his Tulpar hard to the right, angling the beast towards the metropolitan capital that sat on the edge of the Levy Peninsula. The leathery wings of the long extinct creature caught the air as it effortlessly soared across the sky. Anor’s sanagi blade bounced off the scaly hide of the reptilian steed, the one he had named Dor-Valin, its eight limbs flexed as it dove towards the city. In response, the defense alarm sirens of the city screamed, a chilling reminder to its citizens of the war between the Rangers and Lord Zedd.

“To ruin!” Anor shouted to the other riders beside him. The flock of massive, winged steeds descended upon Angel Grove, as cries of terror filled the air. The Power Rangers landed just beyond the parking lot of the Celestion Center Entertainment Complex, their muscles hardened by battle and reflexes sharpened by bio-synergy systems beyond human comprehension.

“Arm up . . . Power Weapons!” Jason commanded.

“Right!” the Rangers shouted. A spiraling burst of light left the five weapons in their grasp as Jason brought forth the Shield of Lagan with the might of Zyusoken. From the waters beyond the arena pavilion, the elephant-sized Qirini appeared, their dark riders holding their sanagi at neck level with the Rangers.

“Spread out!” the order came from the Red Ranger. The Rangers scattered about the decorative fountains and shrubbery of the complex, the hooves of the war stags splintering the concrete into jagged shards as they stampeded towards them. Before the Dasa ground troops, four of the Rotoran and their winged mounts set down, screeching loudly as they dashed for the red armored warrior. Jason quickly sent a surge of energy into the blades of the Dragon Dagger and Power Sword, mentally strengthening the Dragon Shield as well. He met Anor and his captains, Aszar and Agorn, as they clashed the heavy, curved blades of their sanagi swords against the razor sharp Zyusoken and Power Sword.

Across the pavilion, Adam Park, fully powered as the Blue Ranger, faced off against a horde of the mindless Dasa Knights, each of them cursing at them in words too simple for comprehension. He brandished the Power Lance, fighting off the advancing Gorma troops. He spilled black, ancient blood across his navy armor as he countered their attacks, stabbing them with the razor edge of his lance. From the corner of his eye, he noticed the Black Ranger cornered by a wave of Dasa, atop their Qirini.

“You didn’t tell me they were this strong!” Zack shouted towards Adam, who cut his way to his friend through the sea of stinking, decaying Dasa Knights.

“You didn’t ask!” Adam remarked, separating his lance into its two sections. Before he could reach the Black Ranger, a Qirini and his Dasa rider nearly trampled him beneath its webbed hooves.

“Watch out!” Zack shouted. Before the Qirini could react, Zack sliced its saddle harness, its Dasa rider falling off to the side and smashing into an embankment. The Black Ranger then brandished his Blade Blaster sidearm, shifting it to blaster mode. As the snorting stag came back towards the Blue and Black Rangers, Zack fired off a blast that caught the beast between its eyes. Roaring in pain, its legs gave out from beneath it and it slid across the ground, crushing a few of the soldiers beneath it.

“Boy, when you gonna learn to fight?” Zack playfully teased the Blue Ranger, helping him to his feet. As Adam found his footing, the distinct bellow of a Tulpar rang out overhead, as the winged beast landed, perching atop one of the columns that separated the pavilion from its parking lot. Atop the dark beast sat Armoth, second-in-command to Anor, the commander of the Rotoran.

“Do not celebrate victory when the shadow of death is cast upon you!” Armoth declared, dismounting his fell beast.

Kimberly Hart stood with her back against Trini Kwan’s, taking out as many of the Dasa as she could with energy arrows before they could reach the Yellow Ranger. Trini kept the hordes at bay with her Power Daggers, as more and more of the brainless soldiers swept towards them.

“There’s too many of them!” Kimberly shouted, quickly producing more energy arrows, lining them across the accelerator ring of the Power Bow.

“Jason!” Trini shouted in her comms. Jason Scott struggled in the grasp of the Rotoran commander, as Anor tightened his massive hand around the Red Ranger’s throat. He finally dropped the Power Sword and grabbed Anor by his forearms. Before he could break free, a blast from the SGS Tri-Laser exploded around the Red Ranger, destroying the Rotoran commander.

“We’ve got company . . .” Adam shouted, watching the Hunters racing across the parking lot of the Celestion complex.

Jang Visnu watched the battle between his forces, the SGS Hunters, and the Power Rangers with great interest. The flaming ring of the Eye of the Immortal shone off his battle armor as he gripped the hilt of the legendary Kessen sword.

“Our enemies grow by the minute . . .” he stated, as Vadu and Pakthas flanked him, each also dressed in full armor. He turned to face the Noyan and the Jebe-Noyan.

“Let us reclaim our glory,” Visnu declared, leading the rest of the Stratorma out of his personal quarters.

“Zack, take my sword . . . assemble the Power Blaster!” Jason shouted, tossing the Power Sword to Zack. Jason, still carrying Zyusoken, drew his Blade Blaster out from its holster and extended its blade. As he cut through the never-ending wall of Dasa soldiers, he felt a hand on his right shoulder.

“Leave this to the professionals,” Will Hayes told the Red Ranger. Jason scoffed and beheaded a Dasa that had leapt at the Red Hunter.

“Are you insane? There’s no way the five of you alone can stand against their armies . . . we have to make a stand, right here, right now,” Jason replied.

“That’s what I intend to do, just as soon as you get the hell out of my way.”

“I’m telling you, you guys aren’t enough . . . I’m pretty sure we’re not enough . . . but that isn’t the point . . . I will not let these monsters take this city . . . our city . . . as long as there is a breath in my body.”

“Sarge, what’s the verdict?” Sam shouted, referring to the Power Rangers. The Red Hunter considered the consequences for a long second.

“Disregard them . . . our priority here is the new targets . . .” Will commanded. Before he ordered his team to advance, he caught Jason by the edge of the Lagan shield. “But if you get in my way, I will personally break my foot off in your ass.” Jason ignored the comment and rushed to the side of his Rangers, letting the driving Hunters control the battle for a moment.

“Zack, you control the Power Blaster,” Jason said.

“You got it, bro,” The Black Ranger replied.

“Everyone else, arm up with your Sling Blasters, connect them with your Blade Blasters . . . whatever happens, we fight until the end!” The Rangers cheered in unison, arming themselves with their blaster weapons. Jason led them into the swarming Dasa, leaping and landing behind the saddle of a lead soldier atop his Qirini steed. The Red Ranger cut the rider down and grabbed the reigns of the creature, wheeling him away from the Rangers. The beast, obviously disconcerted by the presence of its unwelcome rider, snorted swirls of fire in protest, as it reared up violently in an attempt to buck the Ranger off. Jason grabbed the reigns even tighter and steered the beast into the midst of the Dasa Knights. The Red Ranger carved through the hordes of Dasa, atop the irascible Qirini, focused on the battle until a deep, rumbling thunderclap distracted him.

“Jason, something tells me this is about to get worse,” Adam’s voice sounded through Jason’s comm. The Red Ranger glanced up to see storm clouds swirling above the city, moving together in a vortex that spewed lightning that touched from cloud to sea.

“Sarge, does any of this look familiar to you?” Matt asked the Red Hunter, indicating the storm that brewed above the battle.

“SGS One to SGS Command, requesting immediate deployment of SGS RAPTOR (Rion-class Assault Prime Transport Omni Rifle) to current coordinates,” Sgt. Hayes instructed.

“The Omni Rifle . . .” Matt uttered, anxious to see the sophisticated machine. The RAPTOR had been developed as what had been known as an Omni Rifle, or assault rifle capable of delivering Omni plasma rounds and could be broken down into five separate ‘Assault Prime’ components, that when attached to the Survibusters, would form individual weapons for each Hunter.

“Copy that, SGS One. RAPTOR is in the air,” a voice replied over Hayes’ comm link. From the rising darkness, even darker birds appeared, screeching with bloodlust and carrying the gathered Gorma triumvirate to the battlefield.

“It’s the RAPTOR!” Rose shouted, barely catching a glimpse at the Valran beasts.

“No, its not!” Caitlin shouted, diving to avoid the black beak of the war bird. The Valran carrying Jang Shadam Visnu landed just beyond the team, his yellow eyes fixed in curiosity on the blue beam of light that delivered the RAPTOR into the hands of the Red SGS Hunter. Fabricated from Oseranium, a steel-blue colored heat-dissipating alloy, the RAPTOR was held together by ruby-paneled harnesses and bore the insignia of Search Guard Systems.

“Begin Assault Prime protocol!” he shouted, as the avian-inspired device began to break down into its separate parts. The Hunters caught each of their sections of the RAPTOR, designated with their numbers and connected them to the attachment harnesses of the Survibusters.

“Leave these trivial matters to me, my Noyans. The Eltarian force must be destroyed!” Visnu ordered. Gara Kalrena appeared, holding the Khanda of Aquilonia, a blunt-ended long-sword belonging to a forgotten goddess, in her grasp. The Noyan and Jebe-Noyan rushed across the pavilion, where Jason sat atop the exhausted Qirini steed, as he mowed through the endless Dasa Knights.

“Jason, look out!” Trini shouted. The Red Ranger turned and watched as Vadu cut the legs of the beasts out from under him with a precise swing of his Hrun axe. Jason fell from his mount and blocked the sword of the malicious Kalrena with Zyusoken. Before he could shove the vile woman off, a blast from the Power Blaster caught her squarely between her shoulders. Kalrena twisted in the air from the force of the impact and landed on the back of her neck. As the Black Ranger celebrated his shot, a whine from the morphers indicated the Power Weapons had been spent. The blaster vanished in a spiraling arc of blue light before Zack could disassemble it.

“Billy, what happened?” The Black Ranger shouted into his comm.

“I’m afraid they’re gone . . . with your powers already weakened from the battle, they could no longer sustain the weapons . . .” Billy explained.

“Not good!” Trini exclaimed, the conversation between Zack and Billy spilling over their comms.

“So fragile are your powers . . .” Kalrena said, grasping her Aquilonian sword. “You dare rob me of the sport of war?” With that, the vicious woman charged the Black Ranger. Zack dodged the charging Gorma and quickly armed himself with his Blade Blaster. He extended the blade of the weapon and used it to counter attack, then opposed the ancient weapon, closing in the distance between himself and Kalrena. Zack then turned and struck the Jebe-Noyan with a strong backhand. Kalrena spit blood as she spun in return, striking with a solid roundhouse kick. She followed up with a blind thrust of her blade, moving with superhuman speed. Zack caught the razor-sharp edge of the blade across his thigh, the Aquilonian sword piecing his armorweave.

“Uruk, Shem, Vanaherin . . . Alatar-Istari, Udurin!” Kalrena canted, speaking the language of the Rangi shaman. The powerful incantation echoed across the battlefield, drawing the attention of the other Gorma. Kalrena thrust her hand forward, discharges of light bursting from her fingertips. The energy coalesced into a single beam of light that snaked around the Rangers, striking each of them multiple times. Where the demonic energy had touched their suits, burnt circuitry was exposed beneath the armor.

“You . . . bitch!” Jason shouted. He made a determined fist and gripped Zyusoken tightly. Zydos Vadu watched the infuriated Red Ranger and stepped out in front of the Jebe-Noyan.

“Your curse carries no strength, you fool . . .” Vadu told Jason, as he rushed the strongman. Vadu sat the Axe of Arondknight down, a gift to him from the Hrun Priests, and raised his hand to his face.

“Allow me to show you how it’s done! Vala, Rauko, Rogath . . . Malar-Dandos, Turoth!” With the evocation, arcing bursts of lightning exploded from Vadu’s hand, striking the Red Ranger. Jason writhed in pain, his ears overcome with the loud arcing as the bolts pulled him into the Gorma’s grasp. Jason dropped the Dragon Dagger and fought to pull Vadu’s hands from around his throat.

So I picked up work on The Rising Storm today, after deciding to incorporate a new angle to one of the key points in the story. I had been working on my first original story, which I will reveal the details of in time ... but today marked the beginning of some rewrites and the continuation of the 13th chapter of The Rising Storm.

I can't promise much ... but no one will be able to predict the outcome that The Rising Storm has on the PR Saga universe ...

THE POWER RANGERS SAGA
The Rising Storm

Security at the Tryforian-designed command center of Zordon of Eltar was of a level unknown anywhere else on Earth. In addition to radar, motion sensors, security cameras, and hidden listening stations throughout the valley, the base had highly advanced Tryforian security measures. The early-warning net extended outwards in a ten mile radius and up to six-hundred-and-ninety kilometers above. The valley was lined with seismic sensors capable of picking up the slightest tremor, or the vibrations of underground excavation. Infrared motion-sensitive beams crisscrossed the dunes. In short, a coyote couldn’t jump without the sensors knowing about it. However, the security systems of this magnificent fortress weren’t its most impressive.

The high, vaulted ceiling of the Power Chamber contained the matrix systems for the teleporting operation systems, built to receive and reconfigure the signals of the Power Rangers. Those systems came to life as the individual beams of energy belonging to the Rangers passed through their threshold, their bodies landing upright, on the dais below. After a moment of displacement sickness, the Rangers turned to regard the ion tube that held the visage of Zordon of Eltar.

“Rangers, there is very little time. Observe the viewing screen,” Zordon began, as the holographic display system spun to life in a radiant sparkle of sapphire energy. The light took on the shape of a tribal warrior, leading a group of similarly dressed warriors into battle.

“Behold the Gorma tribe . . . long ago, before the Great Morphing Wars, the Gorma lived alongside the Maori, a tribe native to the island of Aotearoa, and the Ausaria, Eltarian refugees fleeing the bloodshed of the Dairakun Knights. Together, the tribes were known as the Daos, the great light of civilization.

However, the Gorma, who had been the military of the Daos, soon turned against those who had united them under the banner of sovereignty. Their insurrection was short lived as a legendary Eltarian warrior, battling with the might of the tiger, defeated them, imprisoning the tribe in a state of suspended life within seven crystalline orbs,” Zordon explained.

“Okay, what does this have to do with us?” Zack asked.

“Rangers, even though you have never encountered the Gorma tribe, they are your mortal enemies. I am afraid that the nexus in which the Eltarian warrior imprisoned them in was damaged in the Prometheus comet’s collision with the ocean floor,” Zordon explained, as ALPHA 5 floated up from the back of the chamber.

“Nearly forty-five minutes ago, our satellite system alerted us to a tactical group, off the coast of New Zealand, who discovered the ruins of the grand city of the Ausaria, where the Gorma lie dormant,” ALPHA added.

“Those look like EAGLE soldiers,” Trini Kwan noted. Billy sighed and walked up to the main panel.

“Yeah, I noticed that,” he said, drawn in by the crimson eagle bearing the world insignia of the Earth Guard League that had been painted on the team’s DPVs.

“You are correct, Rangers. Irregardless of the Earth Guard League’s involvement, you must go to New Zealand and investigate the newest readings of the unknown energy source that is now active in the depths of the city,” Zordon instructed.

“EAGLE must have got the same readings,” Kimberly Hart deducted. Adam Park nodded.

“But why would troops from the United States block be in New Zealand? New Zealand would fall under the jurisdiction of the Australian block,” he commented, recognizing the US flag on the tactical boat displayed on the view screen. Zordon considered the situation for a moment.

“There is a shroud of darkness falling over the Morphing Grid . . . this is no doubt the result of the discovery of the holding place of the Gorma. Please, use extreme caution, Power Rangers . . . the city is also home to a great power, forged from crystalline energy sources, and is heavily guarded,” Zordon explained. Jason made a determined fist and stepped up.

“We understand, Zordon,” he replied. Zack Taylor quickly spoke up.

“I’m not so sure, Jason . . . the last thing we want to do is get on those guys’ radar. After all, they were founded with the explicit purpose of eliminating all alien activity on the Earth . . . after the Dekaran . . .” Zack began before Jason cut him off.

“No, this is our responsibility. Pack your bags, guys . . . we’re moving out,” The Red Ranger ordered. Zack suppressed his argument and accepted the order from his leader.

Okay guys, the wait is almost over ... as soon as I get my desktop fixed, I will begin posting The Rising Storm on a schedule that will be determined later on (probably like two Chapters a month ... maybe one ... ). The thing is, I don't want to lose anyone's interest, but I know a lot of people have a hard time following stories because of work and other issues, so maybe this won't be a concern.

No, the story isn't complete yet, but as before, I think reactions will be the best course to help dictate the flow of the story. This will probably wind up being a shorter fic than Fire and Ice, but with the amount of action and drama involved, hopefully it won't be that apparent.

Born in Jonesboro, LA, but raised in the infamous small Louisiana town of Jena (See the Jena Six), Patrick Smith, known better to the PR fandom as BattleRanger, grew up in the Transformers and Voltron era of children shows, and as with most, was an avid fan of both properties ... but there was no precedent for what was to come. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted in August of 93- and made a significant impact in the lives of people across the world.

Enticed by the mixture of Dinosaurs, wizards, aliens, robots, and sword fights, Smith became obsessed with the show and immediately saw the potential in the American adaptation of the Super Sentai series, Zyuranger.

Smith was already fascinated with such sci-fi franchises as Star Wars and felt that the story of five teens chosen to save their world from an invading galactic force, using alien powers as old as time itself could only play out on an equally grand and epic stage. So began the Power Rangers Saga.

The introductory chapter in the saga, entitled Fire and Ice (to represent the contrast of the good and evil elements and forces in the story) underwent its first draft ... and included such elements as Zordon of Eltar becoming a Purple Power Ranger, who piloted the Titanus CarrierZord, as well as Darasnois, the daughter of Phaedean warrior Dulciea, who bore the armor of the White Tiger Ranger.

The draft would birth a slew of sequels, including story arcs that covered storylines from the ZEO and In Space era ... however, in 2004, Smith decided that his Power Rangers Saga had turned into something short of a parody- and decided to go back to basics. It was time to rewrite the Fire and Ice story.

Smith, who had honed his writing skills following years of creative writing, sat down and totally reimagined the MMPR saga- and wrote a draft of Fire and Ice that included Lord Zedd building a machine named the Power Slayer, which was carried over from the very first draft of the story. The Power Slayer, which was so powerful and terrible that it ultimately proved too big for the story and keeping true to series canon, was sacrificed and replaced with a re-envisioned Cyclopsis War machine.

By this time, The Power Rangers Saga already had a growing fanbase on the Ray Calderon-owned fan board, Rangerboard, and Smith was forced to reboot the series. Soon, the story was complete and Smith was getting attention, positive and negative, and was even featured on Somethingawful.com, who mocked the epic quality of Fire and Ice by stating, "In a time, one grown man stays home from work, to write the greatest Power Rangers fanfic ever!"

Instead of burning with insult, Smith simply felt flattered that his fic had been singled out for parody, when there were so many other fics to chose from on Ray's board. By the fall of 08, Smith began to pen the sequel to Fire and Ice, named The Rising Storm, which carries the PR Saga story forward three years and introduces elements from the Super Sentai series, Dairanger, including their US ignored uniforms.

While the future of the PR series is in jeopardy, Smith states that it is the responsibility of the fans to keep Power Rangers alive, through fanfics, fan films, and other works of passion.

Smith and his wife make their home in Jena with their 3 year old daughter, Andralyn. In his spare time, he enjoys writing music and playing guitar. Smith is also currently working on his first original sci-fi novel, the first chapter of a trilogy tentatively titled, "The Striker Saga."

Following the impact of the Prometheus comet, the seabed off the coast of New Zealand offered up one of its most dire and darkest secrets … the prison of the enslaved Gorma tribe. The discovery of the Daos civilization would also mark the release of the Gorma into our world … and the shades of war would soon fall across our lands.

Determined and decisive, Shadam Visnu quickly rose through the ranks of the Gorma Army. He was the consummate soldier- a machine on the battlefield and a loyal servant in the presence of the Emperor. He was soon chosen by Emperor Druhyu to form a sort of special unit known as The Triumvirate. Along-side Gara Kalrena and Zydos Vadu, the three generals answered only to Druhyu himself and were bestowed unprecedented honorifics to name their unique positions.

As the first ‘Jang’ General of the Gorma, Visnu’s strategies against the enemies of the Daos made him one of the most celebrated warriors of the time. However, much would change as the alien Rangi came to Earth and began to teach the scholars and priests of the Gorma his dark, inhuman mystical powers.

Driven insane by the sudden death of the alien and the consumption of scrolls never meant for mankind to behold, the Gorma then waged war against their brothers and sisters in the Maori and Ausarian Tribes. Caught in the contest was Visnu and his estranged Ausarian wife, Byako, and mother of his supposed only begotten, the warrior Akomaru.

However, long before Visnu’s appointment as General of the Armed Gorma Forces, Byako hid the fact that she birthed twin boys, and as dictated by Gorma tradition, Akomaru, first of the sons to arrive, would therefore claim birthright, while the other would be slain to strengthen him. Byako could not allow this and fled with the boy Tygrin. Little did Visnu know that his lost son would be raised as the savior of the Ausarians and the one responsible for the enslavement of the Gorma, the White Ausarian Ranger.

Resurrected by the impact of the Prometheus comet and the unintentional meddling of a covert SGS team, Visnu soon rose alongside his Gorma brethren to cloak the world in their darkness.

His penchant for brawling is evident in the deeply scarred battle armor that covers the tribal tattoos decorating his thick, muscular core. Vadu was easily consumed by insanity after the Gorma scholars studied the alien scrolls of the extraterrestrial mystic, Rangi. Following the imprisonment of the Gorma, Vadu would be resurrected alongside his Gorma brethren to plunge the world into eternal night.

Vicious and perverse, Gara Kalrena was the daughter of a Gorma general. Early on, she showed an affinity for science and mystic arts and soon became a leading advisor to the Gorma Emperor. Kalrena was then chosen to serve alongside the Generals Shadam Visnu and Zydos Vadu as the Gorma Triumvirate. She was then presented the unprecedented honorific of Jebe-Noyan to symbolize her role not only as a subordinate to the Jang General, but her knowledge of Jebe sciences.

However, as the Gorma fell into the madness of the scrolls of the alien Rangi, Kalrena moved her area of studies from serving the Daos Civilization to attempting to create a race of super beings to serve the Gorma. During the campaign against the Ausarians and Maori, Kalrena mercilessly slaughtered children to harvest their bodies for genetic experiments. The youngest of the Trifecta, Kalrena is also responsible for the death of Shadam Visnu’s wife, an act she was entrusted with in order to prove her loyalty to the Jang General of the Gorma armies.

Awakened from their imprisonment at the hands of the White Ausarian Ranger, Kalrena, along with the other Generals of the Gorma, have now set out to cast a shadow of violence and destruction over the Earth.
