Just out of curiosity which sets would be the better buy.

The 30+ Vinyl figure boxset for Sentai's 30th Anniversary (Goranger-Boukenger) or the PR 15th Anniversary display figure set in 3 Parts (MMPRS1-PROO). ?

Can someone also post pics of each set, and maybe compare them including prices aswell.

Thanks.

simple:
if you like the pre-zyu sentai series' then get the 30th. anywhere from $100- $200.
if you only like pr MMPR - OO then get the 3 15th sets. anywhere from $30 - $50.

The PR ones are bigger and have poses from the show, so there's more variety. This also makes them better display out of the box.

The sentai ones are pretty small and all have the same arms down pose. More for displaying in box. If you appreciate the different sentai designs and its history, get this. On the other hand, in about 3 years, we'll see another boxset with 35 figs.

hmmmm.

Yeah well I'd plan on only displaying them in box anyway so I guess the Sentai set is the best route.

Also, are those Sentai figs the same as the vinyls from SH releases?.

The material's the same, but the SH figs are bigger, about 6". The figs in the anniversary set are under 4"

I've got 2 of the 3 PR fig box-sets, and I'm really happy with them. It's very impressive that they are doing the poses from the actual shows; the Sentai set looked kind of crappy to me, and seemed way overpriced; I think Toysrus.com might still have the PR sets on sale for like $12... last year they were on 2-for-1 sale as well, so they're a pretty awesome deal; I would really recommend them. And their boxes were pretty awesome, too.

I've owned both, and I have to say I really liked the PR sets. There's not much playability with either two, but for display purposes, I think you'll be happy with the PR sets. The Sentai one is nice, but the figures are a little too small and they all have the same pose. At least with the PR sets, there's some differences. I took this picture a long time ago for size comparisons, but it might help you.

I think I might just end up buying everything.

So the PR sets are in 3 with 5 Red Rangers per pack?.

Nice but I wonder why SPD Red and DT Red have their power ups but Red Ranger doesn't have the Dragon Shield?.

They're just filler, so there's a total of 15 Red Rangers to represent the 15th Anniversary.

That never made much sense to me.
Because to make the power ups complete, they should of had mystic legend mode, but that would've made 16 figures.

SOOOO, they should of released the red alien ranger and the ninja red ranger

You think those are small, check this out.:005:

That is a pic of the set with the gashapon reds.

Another reason about the figures being small is because the old figures before SHs were like that.
Here is aother pic of 30th anniversary set with a couple of my old Maskman figures.

Indeed. Forever Red didn't teach Disney a damn thing.

lol, the Gashapon figures are really meant to be table toppers at best. And actually, the figures before the SH line varied with each series. Those Maskman figures are the same type of material, but there were actually chogokin-type ones that acted as the "official" figures.

Those tiny Red Chronicle figs would be great next to the toy robos.

The "plastic" ones I think are supposed to be the official figures for the show. They came in sets and they released the villians too. I think the die-cast ones are more collectibles. The plastic/SHs figures you can count on every year. The die-cast figures stopped after Megaranger.

Definitely not the official ones, lol. We only get them now because of the candy toy line. The villains haven't really been apart of the official line because the heroes are the main focus. If anything, other companies are the ones who crank out the villains, and even then, it's just a selected few. Gingaman and Timeranger tried a different version of figures (more similar to the PR style). The only exceptions to the plastic figures were Goranger, Battle Fever J, and GoGo V.

GoGoV actually had articulated figures similar to the Timeranger.. I don't know why that book didn't feature them though..
