This is something I wrote. Nothing much. More for therapeutic reasons than anything.

Backstory – Shawn was a normal guy who lived on the coast of Mississippi. He had been studying Kung Fu for years, more for fun and fitness than anything else. One day while practicing with his favorite lance, two devices suddenly appeared, one on each wrist. At first he didn’t know what they were, but a power seemed to surge through him, revealing to him what they were, and what they were to be used for.

It was then that he knew he was a Power Ranger. He couldn’t figure out why, though. The Power Rangers, from what he knew of them, were always based in California. He didn’t really pay much attention to them. He didn’t think anyone outside of California did, since monster attacks seemed to be concentrated there. For two months, Shawn had his Battle Claws, but he never did anything with them.

On one occasion, Shawn felt he should help the Rangers. He didn’t know exactly where they were, or how he knew they were in trouble, but he morphed for the first time and was teleported into battle. The Rangers were extremely shocked to see him. Shawn helped out with the battle and quickly teleported away. The Rangers have been trying to track him down, to find out what his story is, but they could only get a faint morpher signature. The only thing they could do with it was communication, and it was extremely limited. RJ didn’t want to use it unless it was an emergency, since he didn’t want to chance losing the connection.

The Rangers aren’t the only ones who have been busy trying to find this new Ranger. Dai Shi has plans for him, and he has finally located him.

On to the story

“Come on Peter, it’s just across the highway,” Shawn said, his stomach growling.

“I guess. I don’t have any money though,” Peter said.

“So I’ll buy you something. No big deal. I haven’t eaten for a while though, and I need to get something in my system,” Shawn explained.

Peter reluctantly got into Shawn’s car and they drove across the highway. Shawn got a burger meal for the both of them, and they ate, mostly silent. After they finished, Shawn drove them back to the mall across the highway. Shawn knew he would definitely want to go back there, and not only because his car was there.

Shawn followed Peter around a bit more, and they pretty much just caught up from when they last saw each other. They didn’t get to see each other often, so Shawn liked to talk about everything that was going on, and liked to hear how Peter was doing. Shawn didn’t usually get to get in a lot of talking, since Peter liked to do most of it.

Shawn wasn’t paying much attention when they went into a clothing store. He would have waited outside had he realized. Shawn took out his phone and pretended to text message someone for the couple of minutes that Peter talked. Shawn didn’t care for who he was talking to. He tried to keep his anger in check.

Dai Shi had to stand up from his throne. The pure and seething hatred he sensed was enough to make him question whether he was actually feeling it. A screen was brought up mid-room. He was locating the source of the hatred. When he found it, he was floored. He knew from his spies that the person on the screen was none other than the Scorpion Ranger.

Dai Shi concentrated his energies on finding out what the source of the Ranger’s hatred was. The screen changed from the Ranger toying with his cell phone to another young man just feet away. Dai Shi guessed him to be a couple of years older, though. Suddenly, a smile crept onto Dai Shi’s face as Camille entered the room. She looked at the screen, unsure of what was so amusing to Dai Shi.

“Camille, tell me, what is the best way to cultivate the evil inside a Ranger?” Dai Shi asked.

“I…don’t know,” Camille answered. Dai Shi smiled again.

“You give him what he wants. Find me a monster that can keep the Rangers busy. We have something we need to do.”

Camille bowed and ran off. She returned an hour later with a hippopotamus type monster.

“Dai Shi, this is Hipponator. He’ll be more than enough to keep the Rangers busy for you,” Camille said, a smile on her face.

“Go, and do not fail,” Dai Shi snarled. Hipponator jumped up and disappeared. Dai Shi looked at Camille. “Let’s go,” Dai Shi growled.

Shawn told Peter to have a good night, got in his car, and started heading home. He saw Peter going back to that same store. Shawn couldn’t believe he even went in there while he was hanging out with him. On the other hand, he somewhat understood. Peter seemed oblivious that anything was going on between his boyfriend Alex and Shawn. Shawn tried not to think about it and continued on his way home.

Alex and Peter were talking. A customer came up, so Peter stepped back so Alex could do his job. He started to text one of his friends. When he looked up, he was shocked at what he saw. Two people were coming in the door, and the guy looked like a fashion nightmare. Peter just couldn’t see a guy who dressed like that in a store like this.

The two made their way to the counter. They looked at Alex oddly, and before Peter even knew what was going on, the guy had his hand around Alex’s throat. Peter started to move to try to do something, but the two suddenly changed into monsters. He thought he had seen them on the news at one point. The enemies of the Power Rangers. He couldn’t help but wonder why they would want Alex.

Peter couldn’t move. He was terrified. He helplessly watched as Dai Shi gripped Peter’s neck so hard it started to bleed. Dai Shi then threw Alex through the window at the front of the store. Dai Shi and Camille both jumped out the window. Dai Shi picked Alex up and looked at him. He was bleeding from the glass he had been thrown through. Fear was obvious on his face.

Shawn was getting out of his car when his Battle Claws suddenly formed on his arms.
“Look, I know you don’t like associating with us, but we really need your help.”
“Who is this?” Shawn asked, slightly perturbed.
“The name’s RJ. The Rangers are here in Ocean Bluff fighting a monster…”
”I fail to see how that is my problem,” Shawn said sharply, cutting RJ off.
“The problem is I’m showing Dai Shi and Camille at a mall near you. I don’t know what they want, but at the moment you’re the only one who can fight them.”

Shawn thought about it for a moment. Peter was at the mall. If he didn’t go, there was a chance he could be hurt.

“This one time,” Shawn said as he closed communication. He pressed his right Battle Claw like he was cracking his knuckles, and shouted “Jungle Beast, Spirit Unleash!” His Ranger costume formed to his body.

His costume was similar to the other Rangers. His costume was black with dark blue highlights. His helmet was modeled after a scorpion, of course. He teleported to the mall. He looked around, and heard screams coming from the next group of stores. He ran as fast as he could, scared that Peter may be hurt. Shawn caught sight of Dai Shi. Shawn’s Scorpion Lance formed in his hand. He jumped and slashed Dai Shi’s back. Dai Shi dropped Alex.

Shawn looked to see who it was Dai Shi was after. When he saw, he dropped his Lance. Alex got up and tried to run, but his legs wouldn’t move.

“Don’t interfere with this, Ranger,” Dai Shi said.
“Why…” Shawn found it hard to speak. “Why do you want him?”
“Does it matter? I want him dead.” Dai Shi jerked Alex violently, almost snapping his neck. “And I know you do too. Just don’t interfere, and I’ll do all the hard work.”

Shawn looked down. The offer seemed tempting. He wanted to refuse, but then he thought of how Alex had made him feel. The anger was suddenly back. Shawn turned around, willing to overlook Alex’s murder at the hands of Dai Shi. Dai Shi’s hand started to glow purple. He was charging an attack that would kill Alex instantly.

Shawn looked around to make sure no other civilians would be hurt. It was then that he saw Peter looking from behind a display in the store Alex worked in. He looked frightened. Shawn also thought he looked a bit disappointed, even afraid, that a Ranger would let a monster murder someone in cold blood. Shawn looked back. Dai Shi was about to attack.

Shawn unleashed his animal spirit. The scorpion pierced Dai Shi with its tail and threw him 40 feet away. Shawn grabbed Alex and teleported away. Camille rushed to Dai Shi’s side.

“Dai Shi, are you alright?” she asked, concern filling her voice.

“Boy, that could have gone better,” Flit said. Dai Shi used his attack on Flit, who instantly disappeared. Dai Shi vanished, going back to his lair, followed by Camille. Peter emerged from the store, somewhat unsure of what just happened.

Shawn appeared with Alex in what seemed to be a warehouse. It was somewhat dark, and Alex had a hard time seeing the Ranger that seemed to have rescued him.

“Stay here, and don’t go anywhere. I’ll come back for you when I’m done,” Shawn said, trying to mask his voice.

“Thank you,” Alex said. “If there’s ever anything you need…” Shawn’s anger started boiling up again. He summoned his Lance and pushed Alex against a wall, putting the blade on the end of the Lance to Alex’s throat.

“Make no mistake, the only reason you are still alive is because you make Peter happy,” Shawn said. “Otherwise, I would have let him kill you. I would have enjoyed it.”

“Do…do I know you?” Alex asked, unsure of the voice.

Shawn threw Alex down and ordered him to stay there until he got back. Shawn then teleported to Ocean Bluff, California. When he reached the city, he saw a giant robot fighting what looked to him like a hippopotamus monster.

“Man, are you right on time or what?” RJ asked inside Shawn’s helmet. “The Rangers are having a bit of trouble with this guy. Would you mind helping out?”

Shawn thought about it for a moment. He then looked deep within himself and summoned his Spirit Zord. Shawn went into the Scorpion Zord’s cockpit. The Scorpion Zord quickly crawled to an area near Hipponator. The Scorpion struck with its tail. Hipponator wasn’t all that happy. The Scorpion jumped and clenched onto Hipponator’s enormous nose. It continued striking with its tail before detaching and quickly getting out of range of Hipponator.

“That’s awesome!” Casey yelled out.

“Why not combine with us?” Lily asked.

“Can we do that?” Shawn inquired.

“It’s worth a shot!” Theo said.

Shawn concentrated on combining. The Jungle Pride Megazord stuck its hands out, and the Scorpion Zord started to come apart. The tail and pincers detached, leaving only the main body. The pincers attached at the top of the Megazord, forming shoulder mounted cannons. The legs folded up into the body, forming a shield. The tail straightened to form a Megazord-sized Scorpion Lance. When it was finished, Shawn appeared in the cockpit.

“Let’s get this over with.”

The pincers opened up, revealing large barrels. They shot large energy blasts directly at Hipponator, who fell to the ground. He started to get up, but the Jungle Pride started doing it’s spin attack, which repeatedly hit Hipponator with the shield and lance. His body held up as long as it could, but shattered from the onslaught.

Shawn’s Scorpion Zord disappeared right after the battle, and Shawn jumped out of the Megazord. The other Rangers followed, telling him that he should join, and that they had never seen that kind of power. Shawn cut them off, and told them not to expect him again. With that, he teleported back to the warehouse.

“I thought you weren’t going to come back,” Alex said.

”Don’t tempt me,” Shawn said, the spite in his voice all too obvious.

Shawn grabbed Alex and they teleported back to the mall store. Peter was still there, and he ran up and hugged Alex. He insisted he go to the hospital, but Alex refused. Peter walked over to Shawn, still in Ranger form, and thanked him for saving Alex. Shawn looked away and vanished, going back to his own home. He didn’t feel like dealing with this right now.

I enjoyed reading through this. Do you plan on continuing?

I'm not sure. You seem to be the only one who enjoyed it, lol.

Really, it was just a combination of things that were going on in my life at the time when I started it. Whether he joins the Jungle Fury team again is up in the air at this point. He is a very spiteful person, after all. >_>

Thanks for the comment though. It does mean a lot.

Back story – Dai Shi has acquired knowledge that a device has been created that has the potential to rip a hole in reality itself. Word has it that the hole it creates could lead to another universe entirely, though this has yet to be tested. Dai Shi decides to use the device in hopes that it will lead to a universe without Rangers. He has just had the device stolen from its home in a warehouse under armed guard.

Sitting on his throne, Dai Shi waited. With two Overlords now out of the way, the traitor Jellica was the only one remaining. With her in hiding, Dai Shi suspected what her plan would be. It made no matter to him, though. The needed starlight would not be present for another few days. He was content to let her hide out like the vermin she was until then, but he wanted to keep her on her toes. He had the Rin Shi search the palace constantly, at all hours of the day and night. He just had to make sure that she got nowhere near his throne room. As he sat, contemplating, the doors to his throne room opened. Camille stepped inside.

“Dai Shi,” she said as she bowed slightly. “Foxor has succeeded in acquiring the device.” As she spoke, a fox-like monster walked in, odd-looking metallic device in hand. It was unlike anything any of them had ever seen.

“I told you he would be able to do it,” Camille boasted.

“So you did,” Dai Shi said, a slight smile coming across his face. He kissed Camille softly on the lips before taking the device from Foxor.

“I wish that you could go with me,” Dai Shi said, looking into Camille’s eyes.

“I know. Don’t worry. I know you’ll return for me soon,” Camille said, reassuring Dai Shi.

Dai Shi turned and walked out of the temple.

“Um, RJ, you might want to have a look upstairs,” Fran said, a bit perplexed at what was going on with RJ’s TV sets.

“What’s wrong?” RJ asked as he threw a pizza into the oven, not sure what could be going on.

“Well, it’s not focusing on a monster attack. It looks like it’s focused on a warehouse for some reason,” Fran explained. RJ headed upstairs and looked at his TVs. Two of the sets showed the warehouse itself. In a third, he could see someone in the distance. He zoomed in on them to see what was going on.

“You’re sure they took it?” a brunette woman asked irritably.

“Yes ma’am. Took out all of my men with what looked like arrows. Then he took the doors down with his bare hands. It seems they came specifically for it,” an older security officer explained.

“You do realize what you’ve lost?” the brunette asked, hostility seething. The officer had heard it so much, he decided to quote her word for word simply because he was tired of hearing her.

“’A device that could rip a hole in the universe and send the user to an unknown separate universe.”

RJ stood up. That wasn’t good.

“And what did you say they looked like?” the brunette asked on the monitor.

“It…it was a fox creature. Monster, really.”

RJ knew it was one of Dai Shi’s creatures. RJ ran downstairs and gathered up Dominic, Casey, Theo, and Lily. Fran knew the drill by now, and stayed behind to watch the diner.

“RJ, what’s going on?” Dominic inquired.

RJ didn’t answer. Instead, he spoke into his morpher.

“Shawn, I know you don’t like talking to me, but this is really, really important. The fate of the world could be at stake.”

RJ waited a minute. He really needed Shawn to answer.

“What do you want?” came the reply.

“Dai Shi has…acquired a device that can apparently rip a hole in space. It can apparently lead to another universe. That’s what the theory is, anyway. I need you to follow him into this other universe and stop him.”

“Why don’t you get one of your rangers to do it? I hear your ranks have grown,” Shawn said somewhat spitefully.

“That’s the problem. I’m guessing Dai Shi is going to such extremes in hopes that whatever universe he lands in doesn’t have Power Rangers. I don’t know how stable this hole will be, so I want to send you with Casey, Lily, and Theo’s morphers while Dominic and I protect the city.”

Protests immediately started out of Casey, Lily, and Theo.

“How could you do that?”

“We have to fight too!”

“You can’t expect us to just sit here and do nothing!”

RJ raised a hand to quiet them down.

“If there are no Rangers in the universe Shawn lands in, do you expect him to be able to defeat Dai Shi alone?” RJ asked of the three protesting Rangers. A look of confusion and stupidity crossed their faces.

“Well, no, but…” Casey began.

“Then it makes sense for him to have some kind of backup,” RJ explained. “Even if Rangers don’t exist, it may still be possible that someone there holds the spirits of the Tiger, Jaguar, and Cheetah. We can only hope they do. So Shawn, are you up for it?”

There was no answer from RJ’s morpher. Suddenly, a flash of dark purple light appeared in RJ’s loft, and Shawn stood where the light had been.

“Teleportation,” RJ stated, impressed. “Where did you…”

“No time for that,” Shawn stated flatly. “I’m supposed to be stopping Dai Shi, right?”

Shawn put his hand out for the morphers. Casey, Lily, and Theo reluctantly took their morphers out and handed them to Shawn. He grabbed them and placed them in his man bag.

“Any idea where he may be headed?” Shawn asked.

“Well, villains like to use the rock quarry. Odds are he’ll head there,” RJ said.

Shawn headed out without another word.

“Alright everyone, back to work for now,” RJ said. “We’ll have to wait and see if anything happens here.”

Everyone headed back downstairs. Fran was incredibly surprised to see them.

Shawn climbed a hill, looking for Dai Shi. When he reached the top, he saw him. Dai Shi was about forty yards off. The device in his hands was strange. Shawn dropped down to avoid being seen. Dai Shi did something to the device – what it was, Shawn couldn’t be sure since Dai Shi had his back to him – and the device started to emit small bolts of lightning and spin rapidly. Dai Shi stepped back. What looked like a small vortex appeared in front of him. The device was gone. Shawn watched as Dai Shi walked up to it and was slowly sucked in.

Shawn wasn’t so sure about going through this vortex, since the way Dai Shi went through looked neither fun nor safe. He looked as if his body was separated atom by atom until he was gone, though it was done incredibly fast. Shawn finally decided it had to be done and ran as fast as he could. He didn’t know how long the vortex would stay open. When he was close enough, the vortex pulled him through as well.

For a few brief moments, it was as if Shawn could see and hear everything. The sensation was nearly too much for him. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity but was only a few seconds, Shawn exited the vortex. He fell and hit something hard. He looked around. He was on top of a large building. He looked around for a door, but didn’t see one. Looking up, he could see the vortex was still there, though it was about ten feet in the air. Shawn teleported down to an alley next to the building.

Shawn walked out onto the street and looked around. It was a bit dirty here. The air even smelled different. There was a large building down the street. It looked like a hotel. Shawn decided he may well start his search there. He walked in and could tell this was supposed to be a very upscale place. Shawn walked to the desk to see a man in a tuxedo standing behind it.

“I have a question,” Shawn said, getting right to the point. “Have you ever heard of a Power Ranger?”

The clerk just stared at Shawn for a moment. He wasn’t sure what to think.

“You’re serious?” the clerk asked. Shawn didn’t move, or even blink.

“Power Rangers is a kid show,” the clerk explained. “I believe there’s a convention going on at a hotel on the other side of town. Are you here for that?”

“Where can I find this convention?” Shawn asked, half ignoring the clerk.

“The street we’re on runs right through the center of the city. Just follow it for three miles, then turn right. Go two blocks on that road and you’ll find the appropriate hotel.”

“Thanks,” Shawn said as he turned to leave.

“Jerk…” the clerk mumbled under his breath.

Dai Shi looked around. So many humans in one place. As far as he could tell, they were all here to worship the Power Rangers. This confused Dai Shi. As far as he could tell, the Rangers weren’t real here.

“Bede! Hey Bede!”

Dai Shi turned. He thought he knew that voice. He saw someone running up to him. She looked Lily, but she wasn’t in her Pai Zhuq Ranger outfit. Dai Shi got into a battle stance.

“I thought you weren’t going to be able to make it to the convention,” she said. “And how did you convince wardrobe to let you bring the Dai Shi costume?”

“Costume…” Dai Shi said slowly. “I told them I would bring it back safely. How did you get here?”

“I flew, of course. Just like David and the rest of the gang.”

“Look, Lily…”

“Lily? Bede, you don’t have to stay in character for this. Call me Anna. I mean, we finished filming months ago,” Anna said.

“Of course. I apologize,” Dai Shi said.

“I was just heading to a question and answer panel. You want to come?” Anna asked.

“Sure. I don’t think I’m on the roster for it though,” Dai Shi said.

“Probably not, but the fans might like to ask you something,” Anna said, smiling.

This is going to be easier than I would have ever imagined, Dai Shi thought.

Shawn finally reached the appropriate hotel. He could see it was something called Power Morphicon. He found it an odd name, but went in nonetheless. Shawn rushed down the hall, looking. He bumped into a young man of about 19.

“I’m so sorry,” Shawn said. “I wasn’t looking where I was going. The name’s Shawn.”

“Rich,” said the young man. “Why are in such a hurry? Wanting to see the Jungle Fury panel?”

“The what?” Shawn asked, slightly confused.

“You do realize where you are, right?” Rich asked, cocking an eyebrow.

“Honestly, only vaguely,” Shawn admitted.

“Well, I’m going to the panel anyway. You can come if you want,” Rich said indifferently.

Shawn followed. He wasn’t really sure what this panel was, but he figured he was better off there than just searching for something he wasn’t even sure he could find.

“Hey, Bede Skinner wasn’t supposed to be here,” Rich said.

“Bede Skinner?” Shawn asked, catching up.

“Yeah, the guy who played Jarrod. Or Dai Shi. They didn’t really do his character well,” Rich explained.

Shawn looked to the table. It was like all of the Jungle Fury Rangers were there. There was a girl he didn’t recognize sitting there as well. What disturbed him most was who was sitting on the far left. It was Dai Shi. Somehow he had found his way here.

“I have to go,” Shawn said.

“You’re going to miss the panel,” Rich said.

Shawn could see that this guy really wanted to see these people ask questions. Shawn sat back down and decided he might as well try to press Rich for information.

“So who are the people at the table?”

“Seriously? They’re the people who played the Rangers. Well, except Sarah on the far end. She played Fran. And of course Bede,” Rich explained.

Shawn waited patiently for the panel to finish. As soon as it did, he got up and started to run off. Rich called out to him. Shawn decided to get his help.

“Could you hold this bag for me? I’ll be back for it. I just need you to hold it for me for the moment,” Shawn said.

“What’s in it?” Rich asked.

“Um, replicas of the Ranger’s morphers,” Shawn said. “Just be careful with them.”

Shawn ran off and intercepted Dai Shi. He was walking with the Ranger actors, trying to explain why he was at the convention when he had clearly said he didn’t want to be. Shawn walked right up to him.

“Hey, Bede, can I get an autograph?” Shawn asked somewhat mockingly.

“You…” The hatred in Dai Shi’s voice was all too apparent.

“You care to take this outside?” Shawn asked. “You’re coming back either way.”

“I much prefer here,” Dai Shi said as he quickly reach out and grabbed Shawn’s throat. He threw him across the room. Shawn hit the wall and fell. He slowly got back up.

“I’m fine either way,” Shawn said. A crowd was starting to gather. He didn’t want to morph here, but he didn’t really have much choice. He summoned his morphers. When he did, he could hear a few murmurs from the crowd, wondering how he did it. Shawn squeezed his right morpher.

“Jungle Beast, Spirit Unleash!” he shouted aloud. His Ranger suit appeared instantaneously in a flash of light. Gasps and cheers could be heard from the crowd, which was now growing larger. Shawn hated the pose the Rangers always did, but he figured he may as well do it now. He seemed to have fans.

“With the aggression of a scorpion, Jungle Fury Black Ranger!”

“You shouldn’t have followed me, Ranger,” Dai Shi said in a half growl.

Dai Shi ran forward, his battle armor appearing on him as he ran. Shawn ran forward as well. Just as the two were about to collide, Shawn leaped over Dai Shi and kicked him in the back, thrusting him forward. Cheers began to break out with the crowd. Shawn decides it’s nice to have fans, cheering you on. He starts to wonder if this is what the other Rangers get where they live in California. Suddenly, Dai Shi shoots a ball of energy. Shawn doesn’t have enough time to dodge it, and he’s thrown almost to the entrance of the hotel.

Shawn stood up and started to run out of the entrance.

“Don’t try to run when it gets hard, Ranger!” Dai Shi mocked.

Dai Shi followed Shawn outside. The crowd of fans followed. Shawn summoned his Scorpion Lance and attempted to hit Dai Shi with it. Instead, Dai Shi grabbed it and threw it a good distance away.

“You may have saved that boy instead of letting me kill him, but you ran that time,” Dai Shi said. “Do you recall? Now it’s time for you to meet the vengeance of Dai Shi.”

Dai Shi punched Shawn so hard he got disoriented for a moment. He fell to one knee in the street. Dai Shi clasped his hands together and hit Shawn. The force caused Shawn to hit the ground hard. Dai Shi grabbed Shawn’s legs.

“Don’t lay down on the job, Ranger!” he shouted.

Dai Shi picked Shawn up by the legs and forced him back onto the ground hard. After a couple of times of this, Shawn was forced to demorph. The cheers of the crowd were long gone. There were now only gasps of horror as Dai Shi continued to do this to Shawn.

“Stop it!”
Dai Shi dropped Shawn and looked around for who said that. To his surprise, the spirit of the Tiger attacked him.

“It can’t be…” Dai Shi said under his breath.

Dai Shi looked at Shawn. It couldn’t have come from him. Dai Shi walked over and kicked the frail looking human in the chest. Shawn winced in pain. He started to cough. The more he coughed, the more blood came out of his mouth.

Just then, from two other direction, the spirits of the Cheetah and Jaguar attacked Dai Shi. The crowds started to separate. The three people who had utilized the animal spirits were glowing Ranger colored auras. Shawn looked to see who it was, though it was difficult to move.

Rich, the one he had met earlier and given the morphers to, was glowing blue. The yellow one was the one Shawn recognized from the panel. Sarah, he believed was her name. He hadn’t seen the red one before. The three of them gathered together.

Shawn pointed to Rich. He had to muster whatever energy he had.

“The morphers…” Shawn started. “They’re real!”

With that, Shawn fell to the ground. He didn’t think he would be able to move for a while. Rich took the morphers out of the man bag. He handed the corresponding color to the people on either side of him.

“Oh, I’m Rich by the way,” Rich said. “I believe him when he says they’re real. I mean, look at what’s happened.”

“I’m Brad,” said the one who had utilized the tiger spirit.

“I’m Sarah. It’s pretty cool I get to do this in real life when I was so close to getting to do it on the show. Can I lead the call?”

“Sure, why not?” Brad said.

Sarah, Brad, and Rich got into position.

“Do you really think you will make a difference? You weren’t even trained at Pai Zhuq,” Dai Shi stated.

“Ready?” Sarah asked.

“Ready,” Rich and Brad stated.

“Jungle Beast, Spirit Unleash!” the three shout together. Their Ranger costumes appear in three separate but unified flashes of light. The cheers of the crowd can be heard again.

“With the speed of a cheetah, Jungle Fury Yellow Ranger!”

“With the stealth of a jaguar, Jungle Fury Blue Ranger!”

“With the strength of a tiger, Jungle Fury Red Ranger!”

Dai Shi shot a bolt of energy at the Rangers. The separated and summoned their weapons. Brad never really liked the Jungle Chucks, so he summoned the Shark Sabers. Sarah summoned the Jungle Bo and Rich summoned the Jungle Tonfas.

The Rangers fought valiantly. Dai Shi puts up an intense fight, but the Rangers finally summon the Claw Cannon. They have to hit Dai Shi with it three times before he is finally weakened sufficiently. When Dai Shi is down, the Rangers rush over to Shawn.

“You have to get me to that building. We have to get back through the vortex before it closes,” Shawn pleaded.

Shawn told the Rangers exactly where the vortex was. They grabbed Shawn and Dai Shi and headed for the building. When they got to the top, Shawn thanked them.

“It looked like he was going to kill you,” Brad said. “We couldn’t just stand by and watch.”

Shawn retrieved the morphers from them, and used his scorpion spirit to get them back to street level. The scorpion spirit then helped get Dai Shi and Shawn into the vortex. Shawn thought he was going to die when he went through. As Dai Shi and Shawn emerged from the vortex, it disappeared, the device gone forever. Dai Shi regained consciousness and was about to kill Shawn for ruining his plans again when he was blasted by the Rhino Morpher.

“That’s far enough, Dai Shi,” Dominic said.

Dai Shi growled, then vanished.

Dominic came up to Shawn and was horrified at what he saw. Shawn’s body was so broken. Dominic had never seen anything like it. He picked him up and immediately brought him to the hospital. He grabbed the bag with the morphers just before bringing Shawn into the emergency room. They rushed him back for a checkup. Dominic left for RJ’s loft.

“Will he be okay?” RJ asked.

“I don’t know. The doctors wouldn’t say anything to me. I was still in my Ranger form. They just thanked me for bringing him,” Dominic explained.

RJ felt horrible. He knew that it would be risky to go after Dai Shi, but he didn’t think Dai Shi would go quite so far with Shawn.

Dai Shi sat on his throne, watching Shawn in his hospital bed. He wasn’t moving much.

“What do you plan to do?” Camille asked.

“I’m going to destroy him,” Dai Shi said.

On the screen, the hospital door opened and a young man walked in. When Shawn saw him, he smiled.

“Hey baby,” Shawn said weakly.

“How in the world did you get three fractured ribs, and how did you get the crap beat out of you so badly you look like complete crap?”

Dai Shi’s interest was piqued.

“It’s a long story,” Shawn said. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too.”

A young man Dai Shi had never seen before bent down and kissed Shawn. A wicked smile crossed Dai Shi’s face.

“Yes…” Dai Shi said, thinking. “ I won’t have to kill him to destroy him…”

Awesome installment! I'm glad you added something. Really enjoyed it.
