Hehe an idea I'm thinking of turning in to a fan film. I apologise if anything seems mispelled due to my Australian english :p Let me know what you think - I'll continue posting some more chapters if people are interested. First chapter is pretty much just for the purpose of getting to know the key cast, so apologies for not much else happening :p

Chapter 1
Katherine Hillard closed her front door behind her as she stepped out on to the large patio, smiling widely to her group of friends who waited for her in a red suzuki jeep. Turning back she quickly turned her key in to the large painted white door until she heard the familiar click of the locking mechanism, then reached down to pick up her waiting luggage. It was still quite early in the morning so the air was cool although the day had been forecasted as quite warm, Katherine had dressed accordingly in a pink cotton long sleeved top, denim shorts and a pair of stylish yet sensible white and pink sneakers. Her fine blonde hair was pulled back from her face with a pink hair clips, showing off her beautiful blue eyes and clear creamy white skin.
The trip the five dancers were going on had been planned for months in advance, with Katherine doing most of the actual planning herself. Renting a lakeside cabin was her idea of relaxation, and although a couple of her friends disagreed at first, convincing them had been an easy victory and they begrudgingly agreed.
“Hurry up, Hillard!” called out Elsa, Kat’s best friend.
Both girls looked remarkably similar, except Elsa was a much finer girl and always wore a pair of thin rimmed glasses on her face when off the stage. Elsa tugged at the sleeves of her white cotton turtleneck as if the length of the sleeve were annoying her. Elsa studied at the Royal Academy with Katherine, and excelled in ballet where as Katherine moved more in to modern dance and theatre due to her build. Katherine found that her height and more muscular frame hindered her in ballet in her first year, unable to move as gracefully and quickly as smaller girls such as Elsa were able to. Being positive was one of Katherine’s strong points though, and instead of letting her weaknesses get the better of her she focussed on her positives, and the fact she was much stronger than the other girls allowed her to do much more energetic routines in jazz and tap. Being positive as a dancer was crucial, to forge a career in dance, especially one that is long term, is extremely hard to achieve. Letting the negatives take away from the fun they were having was certainly not in either girl’s character – their lives were rich and joyous and worrying about the future would only detract from their present.
Beside Elsa sat Elsa’s boyfriend Marco, a hip hop and modern dancer who had worked with the girls on a few group performances in first year. His large biceps were left uncovered by his white wife beater, and his firm flat stomach showed clearly through the thin material. Marco’s skin was quite olive and tanned, which suited his striking dark eyes and thick, full lips on his baby face. He moved across the back seat so that Elsa could move herself in to the middle seat allowing room for Katherine.
“Just throw your stuff in the back! I hope you didn’t bring as much as you did last time,” interjected Jenny from the front passenger seat.
Jenny’s dark hair was pulled up high with a hair tie, and she scolded Kat with her eyes but made sure to keep on a smile to let her know she was joking. Jenny Hunter was Lieutenant Stone’s niece, who Katherine had met once during auditions for the school, however Jenny was unsuccessful due to her attitude. Although Jenny had been initially rude to Kat during the original audition process, Kat did not hold this against her as she understood better than anybody that sometimes the stresses of life and make even the nicest of people behave not so charmingly. Jenny was accepted in to the Royal Academy the following year and Kat took her under her wing, the changes in Jenny’s attitude had been tremendous and the once spiteful girl with a chip on her shoulder had began to show that she truly was a caring soul that had a lot to offer those around her. Jenny specialized in modern jazz which had her still working on a lot of projects with Katherine, even though this was Katherine’s final year at the academy.
Beside Jenny, driving the vehicle, was Sam. Sam had a nice golden tan from using a solarium every week, blonde hair, green eyes and a lean physique from ballet. Both Jenny and Kat thought he was gorgeous as he was one of the kindest guys they had come across in a school that had bitchiness and conniving behaviour running rampant. Unfortunately for both the girls, Sam’s sexual interest was not in female’s at all, which Kat had suspected early on in their first meeting.
‘But a girl can dream, can’t she?’ Kat thought to herself as she climbed in to the back seat.
“So, where is this place anyway?” Jenny called back.
“About an hour away, it was a huge summer camp but now it is mostly just private cabins rented out for holidays,” Kat answered.
“Don’t worry Jenny, Kat’s already sent me the google map through MSN, I’ve got the whole journey planned out,” Sam said as he playfully nudged her in the ribs.
“As if you driving wasn’t terrifying enough,” Jenny shot back.
“So what’s the name of the place, Kat?” Marco asked as he gently rubbed Elsa’s tiny hand in between his two large paws.
“The house we are staying in is actually a fair way away from the old campground near a place called Higgins Haven. But the lake is really nice, so beautiful and clear. Probably why they called it Crystal Lake.”
