I found this when I was looking for something else. It's a little thing I wrote as part of a larger idea.
-----
Mikoto stood beside Geki and Naoto in the Heaven-like dimension just below Magitopia called Elysia. Mikoto, having redeemed himself in the battle against Kazak and SaunaGinnan, watched over Ranger teams throughout time and space. Suddenly, a green swirling portal appeared in front of them.
"What power would dare open such a sinister portal in our realm?," Geki asked rhetorically.
"I'm not sure, but I know that it suimmons me," Mikoto answered.
"You? Why? You have atoned for your sins. Infershia cannot claim you," Naoto remarked.
"I must find out. I'll return soon," Mikoto stated. Mikoto, Naoto and Geki suddenly heard a strange amimal-cry from above. Mikoto looked up to see his old partner TopGaler flying towards him.
"You cannot do this without me, human," TopGaler remarked.
"Yes, that's true. Let's go," Mikoto replied. Mikoto leapt onto TopGaler, and he and TopGaler disappeared into the green portal.
-------
Trent exited a building on the campus of the local university, carrying a portfolio-bag in his right hand. His father, Anton Mercer, waited for him standing next to a limousine directly outside the main gate.
"How did the interview with the comic-book editor go?," Anton asked.
"I got the job! Starting Monday I'll be the artist for the new Power Ranger Dino Thunder title," Trent replied.
"Great. We should go celebrate," Anton suggested.
"Maybe later. I'm going to head over to Hayley's and meet up with Doctor O and the others," Trent answered.
"Suit yourself. I'll be at the office for a while then. I'll see you at home," Anton said. He then went back into the limo, and the limo drove off.
As Trent walked down a street towards Hayley's Cybercafe, his morpher began to vibrate. It suddenly became visible, and he quickly covered it with his hand. He also felt as if a peculiar power was pulling him towards something directly in front of him. He took a couple of careful steps forwards, but was suddenly sucked into what seemed to be an Invisi-Portal.
The portal opened up in a bleak grey formless dimension, and Trent fell down from above to the fog-covered ground. Trent slowly rose to his feet and then looked at Mikoto. Looking at Mikoto's left wrist, he noticed what looked to be identical to his own White Ranger Morpher.
"What is this place? And who are you? And why are you wearing a White Ranger morpher?," Trent inquired.
"This is a world between yours and mine, a shadow dimension that serves as a battleground. My name is Mikoto. This is not your 'White Ranger Morpher'. This is my DinoMinder, which allows me to transform into AbareKiller," Mikoto explained.
"AbareKiller? Like that character from that Japanese 'Abaranger' series? I'm Trent, by the way."
"In your dimension I may simply be a figment of someone's imagination, or a rendition of yourself. In actuality, I am your counterpart," Mikoto explained.
"I see. If this is a battleground, do you think we were brought here to fight each other?," Trent inquired.
"Possibly, for the amusement of some force from Infershia."
"Infershia? You mean the Underworld that the Mystic Force Rangers fought against? I see."
"The Magirangers did combat the forces of Infershia and defeated N-Ma,"
"Hmm, ok. Well, since we're here I'm up for the challenge."
"A test of strength? Yes.It's been awhile since I've had some excitement. Ikuzo!," Mikoto exclaimed.
"White Ranger, Dino Power!"
"Bakuryu Change." Mikoto, in a swirling mass of white light, transformed into AbareKiller.
Both Trent and Mikoto transformed into their White Ranger forms, each wielding their Wing Pentacts. Mikoto and Trent rushed towards each other, and their weapons clashed. Mikoto and Trent exchanged strikes. Although Trent and Mikoto were evenly matched at the very beginning, Mikoto was a bit faster and stronger than Trent, and the battle turned towards Mikoto's favor. Trent, on the other hand, was having more and more difficulty defending against Mikoto's attacks. Soon Trent had no energy at all to defend himself, and he was punched, kicked and slashed by Mikoto. Suddenly, Mikoto dashed towards Trent; using his speed, he cut down Trent as if he were an amateur. Trent, after the assualt, fell to his knees, breathing heavily and holding his chest.
"I'm disappointed, Trent. I expected more from my counterpart from the other world," Mikoto scoffed, standing over Trent.
"You want more?! I'll give you more!," Trent screamed. A dam then seemed to break in Trent's mind. All of Trent's negative emotions were channeled into the White Dino-Gem, and his powers were boosted to past their original levels. Trent then shot towards Mikoto and blinding speed; dashing back and forth, he cut and slashed at his counterpart mercilessly.
Mikoto dropped to one knee, then raised himself upright. He saw in front of him his counterpart, Trent, using the full-power of his Dino-Gem.
"Super Dino Mode!," Trent yelled. His arm-blades protracted, and the black parts of his uniform protruded to form armor.
"Yes. Show me your Dino Courage. I will show you mine," Mikoto said. Mikoto's own uniform transformed into Dino-Guts mode.
Once again, they clashed. Each time their arm-blades collided, sparks of white energy flew off from them. Trent matched Mikoto move for move, each slash parried and every kick blocked. Trent fought with passion, while Mikoto fought with cold precision.
Mikoto cut down Trent with his arm blades; Trent fell to the ground but then slashed at Mikoto's legs, sending him down to the ground. Trent moved to leap on top of Mikoto, but Mikoto kicked him aside. Trent landed on his feet and rushed again. Each clash released white energy; the harder they fought, the more energy was released. After several minutes of intense exchanges, both Mikoto and Trent were spent.
"Your fighting gives me strength! Continue," an ominous voice from within the void declared.
"This was a trick. We were played like pawns," Trent spat out, exhausted.
"Although I enjoy a good fight, I will not serve the ambitions of an evil force," Mikoto stated,
"Fight, or perish!," the voice boomed.
"Thank you for helping me re-awaken the true power of my Dino-Gem, Mikoto. I needed it. I hope we see each other again," Trent said. Trent then leapt upwards and into the portal through which he had entered the shadow-dimension.
"I hope we do as well, Trent," Mikoto whsipered. TopGaler swooped down and carried Mikoto off back to Elysia.
