“Anniversary” pt. 1
WELCOME TO ANGEL GROVE read the huge sign outside of town, as Rocky DeSoto rode his motorcycle into town. He hasn’t been home in a year, since problems with his family made him live with his aunt and uncle in Chicago.
“Get ready, Angel Grove, because the Rock is back,” Rocky said to himself.
Not knowing this to him, two figures are hiding in the bushes.
“Rocky’s back,” said Eugene “Skull” Skullavich, a skinny teen dressed like a biker gang member. Next to him is a chubby teen named Farcus “Bulk” Bulkmire.
“I can see that, numbskull,” said Bulk to Skull. “Wait until Kimberly hears about this, that Rocky is back in town.”
“Ever since Rocky left, Tommy and Kim became an item,” said Skull. “I smell a fight coming on between Tommy and Rock.”
“Come on, dipstick,” said Bulk. “Mr. Mercer wants us back at work…twenty minutes ago.”
Bulk and Skull got on their cycle and drove off.

At Ernie’s Juice Bar, Jason Lee Scott, a male teen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans is doing some martial arts with Zack Jones, an African American teen wearing a black shirt and white pants.
“You got the hang of it Zack,” Jason said, as he blocked Zack’s spinning kicks with his hands and feet.
“I learned from the best, Jason,” said Zack, as he walked to a stool with bottled water on top. He grabbed the water to drink.
‘I can’t wait for this weekend for Angel Grove’s anniversary party,” said Jason, as he took bottled water from his stool to drink. “I heard that a major celebrity is going to be there.”
‘Can’t wait,” replied Zack.
On a nearby table, Kimberly Hart and Trini Kwan are looking at Jason and Zack. Kim, a female teen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans drank a glass of fruit juice. Trini, an Asian teen wearing a yellow shirt and black pants ate a veggie sandwich.
“Look at them go,” said Kim. “Jason is going to win the charity martial arts tournament during the weekend celebration.”
“What about Tommy?” Trini asked. “We haven’t seen him in school today.”
“Tommy said he’ll be there for the tournament,” said Kim, as she finished her drink. “Besides, we haven’t heard from Rita and her toadies in weeks.”
“What do you think they’re up to?” Trini asked, as Kim shrugged.
Just then, a male teen with glasses wearing a striped blue-white shirt and blue jeans walked towards the girls. Billy Tyler smiled.
“Hi, Billy,” said Trini. “How’s the boy genius at work up to now?”
“I’ve been working on a way to get Tommy’s powers back,” replied Billy. “Zordon and Alpha 5 have been working on it for weeks.”
“Tommy lost his powers during that green candle episode,” said Kim. “All we have left of the Green Ranger is his Power Coin.”
“Zordon thinks that the coin may be the only way to bring back Tommy’s powers,” Billy continued. “I need to talk to Tommy about this to see what he thinks. I know Jason has the coin now and…”
“What are you saying about Tommy?” Jason said, as he and Zack walked towards the others.
“Zordon may have found a way to get Tommy’s powers back,” said Trini.
“We don’t know that yet, guys,” said Billy. “Zordon will let us know in due time.”
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
“Saved by the beep,” said Zack.
The five teens walked into the hallway where no one was there, as Jason pressed a button on his communicator.
“What’s up Zordon?” Jason said into his communicator.
{{Rangers, a monster penguin is attacking the city.}} The voice of Zordon spoke. {{Looks like Rita has come back from vacation.}}
“We’re on it, Zordon,” said Jason.
“IT’S MORPHING TIME!!!”
“Mastodon!”
“Pterodactyl!”
“Triceratops!”
“Sabertooth Tiger!”
“Tyrannosaurs!”
The five teens transformed into the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, as they teleported to the city.

The city is under attack alright, as a giant blue penguin with two frozen gas tanks on its back began freezing people left and right.
“Prepare for the next Ice Age, Angel Grove, because Chillguin is going to freeze you,” said the mutant penguin, as he fired a blue blast out of his open beak freezing a man and a woman in their tracks.
Just then, five rainbow colored beings appeared from out of nowhere, and fired their laser guns at Chillguin, sending him to the ground.
“You give penguins a bad name, bird-brain,” said the Pink Ranger, as she jumped into the air and fired an arrow from her Power Bow at the mutant bird.
“Nice shot,” said the Black Ranger. “Now it’s my turn.” Using his Power Ax, the Black Ranger ran towards Chillguin, but the evil bird opened his beak and a blast of blue light hit the Black Ranger freezing his instantly.
“Zack!” Pink Ranger said, as she and the others looked in shock.
“That bird is toast,” Red Ranger ran dodging Chillguin’s blast, and struck him with his Power Sword.
“This is strange,” said Blue Ranger. “Isn’t this the part of the battle the monster sends the Putty Patrol or Goldar and Scorpina to attack us?”
“I don’t need help fighting you Rangers,” Chillguin fired another blast from his opened beak, as the Rangers dodged his attack.
“This bird got to have a weak spot somewhere,” said Red Ranger.
“Got it!” Blue Ranger said with excitement. “Hit that red gem on his stomach, and that should free Zack and the others.”
“Good work, Billy,” Red Ranger jumped into the air, and fired his laser into Chillguin’s red gem, shattering it instantly.
Just then, Black Ranger and the other people were free of their icy prisons. Chillguin was weak and powerless, as the Rangers regrouped for the final blow.
“Let’s finish this flightless freak once and for all!” Red Ranger shouted, as the other Rangers agreed.
“Power Ax!”
“Power Bow!”
“Power Lance!”
“Power Daggers!”
“Power Sword!”
The Rangers’ combined weapons formed a powerful laser canon, as they aimed at Chillguin.
“FIRE!” All five Rangers said in unison, as a beam of red and orange light came out of their canon to hit Chillguin. The monster fell to the ground and exploded on impact.
“That’s one penguin that won’t be doing any marching,” said the Black Ranger, as the others cheered at their victory.

“Incompetents!” Rita Repulsa shouted to her minions. “I’m surrounded by idiots!” Rita turned to Finster, the monster maker. “Finster, your stupid monster got the snot kicked out of him by the Rangers again! What do you have to say for yourself?”
“Well…” started Finster.
“Shut up!” Rita snapped at Finster. “All I ask from you dimwits is to defeat those brats, but no, you screw up!”
“Rita, maybe Lord Z…” before Goldar can continue, Rita threw a vase at the gold armored winged monkey creature.
“I don’t need his help to take out five brats,” snapped Rita, as she took both her hands and covered her head. “I got a headache.” She groaned.

Later at the Juice Bar, the five teens are drinking fruit punch for a job well done. Just then Ernie, the Juice Bar’s owner walked to Kimberly with a message.
“What’s up, Ernie?” Kim asked him.
“Kim, Rock’s back,” replied Ernie.
“The wrestler?!” Zack said in puzzlement.
“Rocky DeSoto, silly,” Kim corrected Zack.
“I thought Rocky lived with his aunt and uncle, after what happened with his parents?” Billy asked. “What’s he doing back in Angel Grove?”
“To attend my Dad’s wedding next month,” everyone turned to see Rocky wearing a red shirt and matching pants. “You see, my parents got divorced.”
“I’m sorry, Rocky,” said Kim. “Who’s you dad marrying?”
Rocky just sighed. “Your mother. We’re going to be brother and sister.”
Kim ran to Rocky and hugged him. “I can’t believe that you’re going to join our family, Rocky. Mom said she met someone.”
Rocky and Kim smiled at each other, as the others congratulated them both, not known that Tommy Oliver hid in the darkness as he began to tear up inside.

NEXT TIME: Rocky Vs Tommy! Rita gets even! Plus, and new threat will change the Rangers forever.

Author's Note: This series takes place weeks after "Doomsday" In MMPR season one. Tommy will not have his powers still, and Lord Zedd won't be in the series...yet. As for my other story, "Sentai Wars," that's still in development. Look for some big changes to happen in both series.
