Hey all,

This has been a dream project of mine for AGES now; to rewrite MMPR. "Why?" I hear you ask? Because I wanted to. I've changed many things around plot-wise, but i'm not expecting people to be happy about what i've done with it all. This is just something i'm doing for fun; so please, leave comments, but please, be constructive!

NOTE: Everything related to Power Rangers is copyrighted by Saban (or is it Disney now?) except for any new characters i've introduced. Enjoy.

Episode 01: Rita’s Return, Part I

40,000 years ago, there was a great war across the stars. A dark force, led by the evil witch Rita Repulsa and her generals, Goldar and a mysterious warrior known only as the Silver Knight, conquered most of the known universe. After many years of tireless fighting, Rita set her sights on the last planet to be claimed; Earth.

The resistance, lead by the mighty sage Zordon, fought a final battle on the surface of the Earth to decide the fate of the universe. With the help of mystical sources of energy known as the Power Coins, Zordon and his Power Rangers stopped Rita. Not everything went the way it was expected however. During the final confrontation, Zordon completed his plan by sealing Rta and her minions inside a space dumpster, casting her off into the depths of space. However, during the process, Rita was able to trap Zordon inside a time warp, causing him to be lost forever.

After the war, Rita’s remaining forces across the galaxy slowly stopped their campaign and peace returned to the galaxy. The Power Rangers retuned their coins to me, Zordon’s faithful servant so that I can carry out his final wish; summon new Rangers when Rita returns, as Zordon predicted. When that happens, the new Rangers will shape the destiny for the entire galaxy. I am Alpha 5: my mission, to safeguard the Earth and bring in a new era of Power Rangers. My own goal; to find Zordon...

40,000 years after the final battle – 2008

It was a bright, sunny day in the town of Vinefield. It seemed like it was going to be a day like every other day. However, this was destined to be a day unlike every other day. But for now, everything was normal…

“I’m going to be late again! Man, they’re going to kill me!” yelled a young teenager dressed in red as he frantically ran down a street towards the nearby park. It was the first day of the new school year and he was already making himself late; even worse, he knew that he was going to be making the others late, too.

In the park, three friends were by a tree, two teenage girls sat down leaning against it, one dressed in pink, the other dressed in yellow, whilst a teenage boy dressed in blue stood up near the tree watching the park entrance. Glancing down at his watch, he sighed. “Knew he’d be late.” The girl in pink looked up at him and smiled. “Well, y’know what he’s like. Irresponsible, reckless and always late.” He nodded. The girl in yellow smiled warmly, pointing. “Look, here he comes! Tyson! Over here!”

Tyson, the boy dressed in red, was sprinting towards them. He was fairly tall with a tanned complexion and a muscular build, with mid-length spiky black hair and dark brown eyes. He always wore red. He saw his friends up ahead.

There was Jessica, dressed in yellow. She was of average height for a girl with fairly pale skin and shoulder length blonde hair and gentle blue eyes. She was fairly athletic, mainly from being art of the schools running team. He’d known her ever since they were little and they were really close; he knew he could rely on her when he needed her and vice versa..

Then there was Zoe, dressed in pink. She was short with tanned skin, shoulder length brown hair and dark brown eyes. He’d only known her for a year, but already they’d grown quite close. She was into singing mainly, but she also did a bit of cheerleading from time to time.

Then there was Jaden, the boy in blue, Tyson’s best friends. He’d known Jaden for what seemed like eternity. Jaden was slightly shorter than Tyson, with short, brown hair, an average build and blue eyes. He was the responsible one of the group, always taking care of everyone and was good at keeping everyone together, even through the tough times. He was into music and was often found playing a guitar.

Tyson reached his friends and collapsed against the tree, exhausted. “Hey… I made it guys…” Zoe stood up and put her hand on his shoulder, leaning down towards him so she could see his face clearly. “You shouldn’t run so hard y’know? You OK?” He nodded. “Yea… Just gimme a sec, OK?” She smiled and looked at the others. Jessica smiled and stood up, going over to Tyson’s other side to see if he was OK. Jaden just looked at his watch and sighed again.

“You know, it’s not really good that we’re late on the first day. Teach’ll go nuts. Hm?” Something caught his eye he looked up to see two people, one of them he knew fairly well. The guy he knew well was Lee, always seen dressed in green. Lee was the confident type; always looking out for those in need and wasn’t afraid to go against people who would do them harm. He was a fighter, trained in Karate, something which earned the silent respect of those around him. Physically he was similar to Tyson, but had brown hair and blue eyes.

The other guy Lee was with wasn’t someone that Jaden knew well. He knew his name was Mike and that was about it. He was very anti-social and rude, constantly pushing people away. Lee seemed to be the only real friend that Mike had. But Lee was incredibly patient and persistent with him, so that was probably why. He has short, had black hair, brown eyes, a tanned complexion and an average build. He was always seen wearing black.

“Hey, Lee!” Jaden shouted over. “You’re late too?” Lee looked over at him, stopped and waved. Mike however, just kept walking. Lee sighed. “Sorry, I can’t stop, gotta go! Hey, Mike, wait up!” he yelled as he ran after him. Jessica looked over at them walking onwards. “What IS it with him?” Tyson, who had recovered by this point and was standing alongside her just shook his head. “Whatever it is, it can wait. We’re late enough as it is.” Jaden laughed. “You’re one to talk! If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t BE late.” Tyson laughed. “Y’know, you guys didn’t have to wait for me, but I’m glad you did. Lets get going.” They all nodded and walked away.

Meanwhile, deep in space, a golden object approached the moon. Minutes passed. Moments later, it crashed onto it’s grey, lifeless surface…

Out in a desert near Vinefield was a fairly large, isolated building. Inside, a gold and red automaton was hurrying around. “Oh no! She’s arrived!” He looked up at an empty blue tube. “Zordon… I couldn’t find you in time… Please, tell me what to do… Aiyiyi…”

On the moon, the object was actually a space dumpster, or more accurately, a space prison. The red stone on it’s lid emitted a great red light. Suddenly, the lid came loose. A blast hit the lid from the inside, blowing it off into space. A large, silver figure appeared from the dumpster, climbing out and surveying the surroundings. He was completely clad in silver armour, about 7 foot tall. In a deep, yet human-like voice he called out. “Empress, the coast is clear.”

“Ahhhhh!” said Rita as she emerged from the space dumpster, stretching out. “We’re finally free! How long has it been?” A white figure dressed in blue appeared. “40,000 years, my queen.” She scowled before turning her attention to the planet before her. “I see. Tell me Finster, is that the planet I think it is?” Yes, my Queen. I believe that is the Earth.” Rita cackled. “At last. My time for revenge is here! I will finish what I started and then rebuild my empire!”

“GET OFF ME!” yelled a mysterious, growling voice from within the dumpster. Two creatures were thrown out of the dumpster, landing on their faces on the ground. Rita laughed at them. “Squatt! Baboo! You idiots!” The voiced boomed again. “Next time you try that, it’ll be the LAST thing you try!” Everyone looked over to see a gold figure climb out. “Goldar! About time!” Rita huffed. “It’s time to attack the Earth, but first…” Rita raised her wand, casting a spell. A gigantic palace appeared from the moon’s surface. She cackled once again. “Goldar! Get ready to go down to Earth. Finster! Start making some Putties. Silver Knight! Secure the defences! Squatt! Baboo! …Go sit in a corner or something!” “Yes Empress!” they all cried in unified response.

Later that day, the teens had finished their lessons for the day and having barely escaping the first detentions of the year, went over to the park to hang out for a while. There was a river running through the park, and the teens were lying on it’s banks, looking up at the clouds. Tyson yawned. “Man, it’ been a really long day. I’m beat.” Jessica, who was led next to him, poked him on the arm, giggling. “Yea, right! You’ve barely done anything all day! You didn’t even get up on time…” He sighed. “Still haven’t gotten over that, huh?” She smiled. “I just worry about you. You’re going to get in way over your head one of these days.”

Meanwhile, Zoe looked over at Jaden, who seemed lost in thought. “Hey. You OK?” He snapped out of his trance-like state, nodding. “Yea. I was just thinking, that’s all.” Tyson sat up. “Oh yea? About what?” There was a long pause before Jaden replied. “About us. All of us, together like this, having good, happy times. I wonder how long this’ll last for?”

Suddenly, a yell could be heard from the distance. “Hey, guys! I need some help!” The teens all bolted up to find Lee running towards them. Jaden spoke first. “What’s the problem?” “It’s Mike, he’s gone missing. We were talking and he ran off. I don’t know what’s gotten into him!” Zoe looked deeply concerned. She knew he was anti-social, but him and Lee were really close; he wouldn’t normally do that. “Why don’t you head over to his house and see if he’s there? We’ll look over the park and see if we find him, right guys?” “Right!” they all sharply replied. Lee looked grateful. “Thanks guys, I really owe you one. I’ll be back as quick as I can!” With that, he ran off. “Let’s go!” yelled Tyson. They nodded and ran in the other direction.

Meanwhile, Rita’s preparations for invasion were finally complete. “Goldar! Take these Putties down to Earth! Destroy all that you find!” Goldar nodded and raised his sword. “Yes my evil empress! Watch as the Earth crumbles before you!” With that, he teleported away, taking the Putties with him. Rita walked out onto the balcony overlooking Earth. “Your day has come, humans. Soon, nothing will stand in my way!” She cackled once again, certain that nothing could stop her now.

The teens kept searching the park, but they chose to remain together. As they ran past some bushes, Jessica heard something. Looking through the bushes, she was horrified by what she could see. “look!” she hissed to the others, who promptly stopped. She waved them over and signalled them to look through the hedges. There was Mike, surrounded by strange grey creatures and something that resembled a gold gargoyle. He was trying to fight them. Tyson was immediately ready to act. “C’mon guys! We can’t hang around here! We gotta help him!” They all nodded in unison. “Right!” With that, they all ran into the battleground, rushing into the middle and joining Mike.

“Need a hand?” yelled Jaden. Mike just shook his head. “Whatever. What makes you think you have any better chance than I have?” Goldar laughed. “Good! There are more of you! Time to get rid of you once and for all! He charged up his blade and fired a ball of fire at them. The girls screamed and the guys braced themselves. Just before it hit them however, they were teleported away. Goldar looked confused. “What? Where did they go? Putties! Search this place. FIND THEM!” The Putties ran off in different directions, ready to hunt the teenagers down.

Alpha was in the Command Centre, waiting patiently. He wasn’t disappointed. Moments later, the teens were teleported into the room. They looked heavily confused. “What is this place?” Jaden wondered aloud. “Sure ain’t the park, that’s for sure.” Replied Zoe. Mike huffed. “Well, whatever. I’m outta here.” He started to walk away. Before anyone could say anything though, a strange robot blocked his path. “Wait! Don’t leave!” The teens turned to face the robot. Jessica looked bewildered. “Who…What are you? What is this place? Why were we brought here?”

“Please, calm down. I’ll explain everything. Just give me a chance. Please, observe the viewing globe.” He motioned his hand towards the a ball. They looked at it and saw the gold gargoyle from before. “That thing! We were just nearly killed by it in the park!” exclaimed Tyson. “Yes, I know. That’s why I brought you here.” Explained Alpha. “You see, I am Alpha 5. I need your help. The world needs your help.” Jaden looked puzzled. “Woah, woah, woah. I don’t know what’s going on here or who you think we are, but you’ve got the wrong people. We’re just ordinary teenagers.” Alpha nodded. “Yes, I know. Please, let me continue. Look.”

The picture on the globe changed to show a witch. “This is Rita Repulsa. She was sealed away after a war long ago, but she has broken free and is determined to wipe out all life on Earth, then the galaxy itself! Unless someone intervenes, we’ll all be destroyed! You’ve already met Goldar, and you know that he’s dangerous. He has to be stopped now before he has the chance to hurt someone.” Tyson spoke up. “Look, hate to break it to you dude, but there’s no way we can fight something like that. We’d be dead within minutes.”

Alpha nodded. “Yes, that’s true, but with these…” He held out his hands, a box appearing in them. He opened the box to revel 5 coins to the teenagers. “…You can win.” The coins glowed in their colours – Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink and Black, before rising up and flying into the hands of the teenagers. Zoe looked at her coin; a Pterodactyl was engraved on it. “What are these?” Alpha continued. “These are your Power Coins. Within them, you can become a force known as the Power Rangers.” With that, the coins changed into morphers, the coins now resting inside a slot on it’s surface. “See? The coins believe you are their rightful owners.”

Jaden shook his head. “This is a bit wild. What’s a Power Ranger?” Alpha thought to himself for a moment before answering. “A Power Ranger is a being with extreme powers, granted by the spirits of the beasts you know as dinosaurs. Tyson, Jaden, Mike, Zoe, Jessica. You can do this. Please, you have to try!” Zoe and Jessica looked at each other, then back at Alpha. “You know our names?” Zoe questioned. “Yes. I’ve been monitoring you all since Rita landed this morning, to see if you could be the ones I’m looking for.” Jessica looked confused. “I… Don’t get it, but nevermind. You said these things were powered by the spirits of the dinosaurs?”

“Yes!” exclaimed Alpha. “Mike, you have a fierce personality but I think you also have a gentle heart. You have the powers of the Mastodon. Zoe, you are cheerful and positive, you have the protection of the Pterodactyl. Jaden, you are determined and responsible. The power of the Triceratops is yours. Jessica, you are reliable, trustworthy and swift. You have control of the Sabre-tooth Tiger powers. And Tyson, you are strong and powerful, the Tyrannosaurus powers are yours.”

Before the teens could respond, a loud noise went off. “What IS that?” questioned Tyson. Alpha rushed to the viewing globe. “Look, it’s Goldar! He’s attacking civilians!” “We have to stop him!” cried Zoe. “What do we do?” She asked Alpha. “To activate your powers, reach for your morphers and call out “It’s morphin’ time!”, followed by the name of your dinosaur.” “Sounds good.” Said Jaden. “We don’t have a lot of choice, but we can do this.” Claimed Tyson, full of confidence. This confidence was soon shattered by Mike. “Whatever, I’m not interested. Cya.” Before they realised what was happening, Mike had ran out of the room and the building quickly after. “Mike!” yelled Jessica. Tyson shook his head. “Look Jess, we have to get going. NOW. People are in danger.” Jessica shook her head. “You go on ahead. I have to try and get him to help us!” Jaden shook his head. “I don’t like this, but I don’t think we have a choice, either. OK Jess, find him, but be quick!” Jessica nodded and ran out of the building. Tyson stepped forward. “Guess it’s just us. Nothing to lose I guess. Ready?” They nodded. “Ready!” They cried in unison. Alpha stepped back. “Good luck Rangers!” They nodded once more. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“TRICERATOPS!”
“TYRANNOSAURUS!”

Episode 02 : Rita’s Return, Part II

In the park, Goldar was busy throwing balls of fire at nearby people, who were running for their lives. “Pitiful humans!” he cried. “Why do you run away? When Rita’s finished with this planet, there will be nowhere to run to! Putties! Go after them!” Following his command, the Putties under his command spread out, ready to hunt down their prey. Goldar laughed and went to walk away.

“Not so fast!” Tyson yelled. Goldar turned to see who was causing the noise. “P-P-Power Rangers? Impossible! Zordon’s gone!” The Rangers looked at each other, confused. “Zordon?” said a confused Zoe. “Any ideas guys?” Jaden shook his head. “No idea, but that can wait for later.” Tyson struck a fighting pose. “Right! Hey, Golden Gorilla! Your time is up!” Goldar was furious, “GOLDEN GORILLA? It’s GOLDAR!” With that, he threw a fireball at them. They all backflipped just in time, dodging the blast. Jaden made a quick observation “He seems to be drawing power from his sword. If we can disarm him, defeating him should become a lot easier.” Zoe nodded. “He’s right, but how?” “Simple, time for a bit of hand-to-hand combat, right Jaden?” Tyson sounded very confident, something that worried Jaden; every time he was like this, something always went wrong. “Well… OK, we’ve got to try!”

With that, the Rangers charged at Goldar, Zoe leading the charge. Goldar fired another blast at her, but she front-flipped over his head and landed behind him, sweep-kicking him to the floor. Goldar quickly used his wings to get back up on his feet, spinning around, slashing Zoe, along with Tyson and Jaden, who were right behind Goldar, ready to strike. They were knocked over and they hit the floor. “OK, that didn’t work…” said Tyson, a regretful tone in his voice. Goldar attempted to swipe at Tyson and Jaden whilst they were down, but they saw it coming and rolled away. All 3 Rangers ran a few feet away and regrouped, giving them some much needed space between them and Goldar.

Suddenly, they all heard a voice from inside their helmets. “Rangers!” They all looked around, confused. “Alpha?” questioned Tyson. “Yes, Rangers, it’s me! I’m talking to you from the Command Centre.” Again, they looked at each other confused. “Command… Centre?” asked Zoe. “It’s the name of the building you were in just now, but I’ll explain that later. Have you noticed the holsters at your sides?” The Rangers quickly looked at their holsters. “Yea, we can see them, but there’s nothing in them!” Alpha sighed. “They should contain weapons called Blade Blasters, but they were damaged at the end of the last war against Rita. I repaired them, but it looked like I forgot to give them back before the coins were last used. I’m sending them to you now.” The Blade Blasters appeared in their holsters. They drew them and looked at them. “Nice!” exclaimed Tyson. “But Alpha, you just said the last war… What were you talking about?” inquired Jaden. “I’ll explain later, but for now, just listen to me and trust me. You can use the Blade Blaster in 2 ways, gun mode and sword mode. I’ll leave it to you about how you can use them best.” “Thank you Alpha” said Zoe, speaking in a soft, happy voice.

“I have an idea. Jaden, Zoe, you use the gun mode to give me cover whilst I get him with the sword mode, OK?” They nodded. “Right!” “You’re going down Goldar!” Yelled Tyson. “Blade Blaster, Sword mode!” he cried as he converted it. “Here I go!” He rushed at Goldar, whilst Zoe and Jaden dropped on one knee and fired on Goldar, who was attempting to block some of the blasts with his sword. Tyson jumped at Goldar, slashing him before sidestepping around him, constantly switching directions to try and catch Goldar off guard whilst the others shot at him. “It’s over! Power slash!” Yelled Tyson, swiping at Goldar, the blade of the Blade Blaster gleaming with a thick red energy, following with a kick to his chest, knocking him to the floor. “Now!” yelled Tyson. The others nodded. “Blade Blaster, Power Shot!” Blue and Pink energy appeared at the tips of their respective guns, growing to a ball of light about the size of a fist. “Fire!” The blasts flew at great speed before hitting Goldar with pinpoint accuracy, causing a small explosion.

Tyson rejoined the others. “We did it!” “I wouldn’t be so sure!” said Jaden as he pointed to Goldar, who was getting back up. “It’ll take more than that to beat me!” “Damn!” yelled Tyson. “This is the end for you, Rangers!” exclaimed Goldar, who charged at the Rangers.

Meanwhile, Rita was observing the battle from the balcony of her moon palace. “Grrr… That stupid gold buffoon can’t do anything right! He’d better win this or I’ll turn him to stone!” Her face changed from being angry to being confused. “But I don’t get it, there should be five Rangers, not three! What’s going on?! Better yet, how did they get those coins? I destroyed Zordon!” The Silver Knight appeared. “I can’t speak for how they obtained the Power Coins, Empress, but I can sense that the other two are on the move, somewhere in the Mountains near the city.” Rita looked at him. “I forgot you could sense the Power Coins. Why didn’t you butt in sooner?!” He shook his head. “Forgive me, Empress, but I didn’t wish to speak out of turn.” He dropped into a kneeling position. “Give me an order, Empress.” She laughed. “Very well, go and take some Putties and destroy the other two, quickly!”

Again, he shook his head. “Empress, I think you rely too much on the Putties. There are only two of them, I’m sure I can defeat them without the Putty Patrol.” “Hmm…” thought Rita. “Very well, get going! But mark my words, if you fail, I’ll turn you into an Ilorian Sky Fish!” He rose to his feet, drew his sword and brought it vertically against his armour. “I swear on my sword, Empress, it shall be done.” With that, electricity surrounded him and he teleported away. Rita cackled as she turned to face the Earth. “Time to die, humans!”

Meanwhile, up in the mountains, Mike slowly walked alone, lost in thought. ‘Power Rangers? Saving the world? I can’t… I’m just… Just not strong enough.’ He brought his hands in front of him and looked at them. ‘I have no strength, how could anyone rely on me to take on something like that? They’ve got the wrong guy’. He shook his head and kept walking.

“Wait!” he heard a familiar voice behind him. He turned around to see Jessica behind him. He turned away and began to walk faster. “Go away! I don’t want to talk to you!” Jessica stopped, watching him walk away. ‘What is it with him?’ She looked down towards the city. ‘The others are down there, fighting…’ She looked back at Mike, who was nearly out of view. ‘I guess this is my own fight.’ She went to run after him, but suddenly a blast hit the mountain wall just above her. She screamed, diving to the floor and covered her head as a few rocks fell around her. She flipped over onto her back and looked up to see someone in a massive suit of silver armour.

Mike, a fair distance away at this point, heard the blast and Jessica’s scream. ‘What? What’s going on?’ he thought, his mind racing. ‘…I’m going to regret this…’ he thought as he began running back to her.

“You, Ranger, you’re finished.” A surprised look broke out on her face. “H-how did you know?” she asked. He took a step towards her. “I can sense the Power Coins, and the energy of the Yellow Ranger is all around you. It’s time to die, young one.“ She reached for her morpher, bringing it out in front of her. “I don’t think so: It’s morphin’…” Before she could complete the sequence, he fired another blast at her, hitting her morpher, knocking it out of her hand and knocking it the floor, some distance away from her. She was also knocked to the floor, producing a small cry of pain. He walked up to her and held his sword above her. “So this is all that Zordon’s Rangers could do? I’m disappointed…” He raised his sword. “Say goodbye.”

“IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!” came a cry from the cliff above them. The Silver Knight and Jessica looked up to see Mike morphing.

“MASTODON!”

He quickly noticed his blade blaster in the holster, realising it had two different modes. He drew it and fired some shots at the Knight, before front flipping off the cliff, converting it into sword mode, landing behind him and slashing him, completely catching him off guard. The force throwing him off the cliff edge. They heard him cry in pain and the sound of him hitting the floor below, and then nothing.

Looking over the edge, he could see the Knight below, not moving. He converted the Blade Blaster back to gun mode and holstered it, turning to Jessica and demorphing. He reached out his hand to her. She was stunned. “Come on.” He said in a peaceful voice. She nodded and grabbed his hand before he helped her to her feet. “You came back.” She said, a joyful tone in her voice. He turned away. “I did it because I had to, not because I wanted to.” She stepped back in shock. “W-w-what?” “He kicked a small rock off the cliff. “Forget it, you wouldn’t understand.” He began to walk away, but she ran after him and grabbed his arm. “Wait, please… The others need your help just as much as I did! If you saved me, can you really turn your back on them?” He sighed. Everything stayed silent for a few moments before he reached behind him for his morpher. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!” he cried.

”MASTODON!”

With that, she saw him teleport away, towards the battleground. “Hey, wait!” She cried. ‘What is his problem?’ she wondered, reaching for her own morpher. “I did it guys, I’m coming. Hold on. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”

A yellow beam of light flew through the skies as she headed to the battlefield too. Unbeknown to her, the Silver Knight had easily survived and watched her heading off to fight Goldar. “That was… Unexpected.” He sighed, picking up his sword and putting it in it’s sheath. “I will fight you again, Rangers, and next time it will be a proper fight. That day however, is not today.” With that, energy surrounded him and he teleported away.

Meanwhile, in the Command Centre, Alpha was observing what was going on. “Finally, all 5 of them will be together. You can do it Rangers!” He turned around to see the empty blue tube. “Zordon… I hope I’ve made the right choices. Wherever you are, please, watch over them. Aiyiyi…”

The fight against Goldar was not going well as he knocked all 3 Rangers to the floor again. Tyson struggled to his feet. “This is brutal. He’s tougher than he looks.” Jaden helped up Zoe. “You OK?” She nodded. “Yea. But what’s it going to take to beat this guy?” Suddenly, Mike appeared, landing behind Goldar. Quickly, he drew his Blade Blaster, turning it into sword mode and spinning around, slashing him several times from behind. Jessica soon arrived as well, drawing her Blade Blaster, shooting Goldar as she flipped over him, landing in front of him. Both of them joined the others. Zoe ran over and hugged Jessica “Jess! You did it!” Jaden turned to Mike. “Thanks for coming, man.” Mike shrugged his shoulders. “Whatever, lets just get this over with.”

Goldar got to his feet. “5 Rangers? Grrr… Damn!” “Now!” Tyson cried. "Everyone, Power Blast, now!” Everyone drew their Blade Blasters, kneeling down. “Blade Blaster, Power Blast!” They cried, different coloured energy building up, as they did before. “FIRE!” The 5 blasts sped towards Goldar. “I don’t think so!” He yelled. He quickly thrust his sword into the ground, and crossed his arms across his chest. He yelled as he flung his arms out the sides, his wings stretching out as well. A barrier surrounded Goldar, taking the full energy of all 5 blasts before he returned to standing position, the barrier collapsing. The Rangers looked at each other, panicked and confused. “He stopped the blasts! What are we going to do now?” Jessica asked, a worrying tone in her voice.

“Rangers, calm down!” Alpha told them through their helmets. “There’s still another option available to you, an option that you couldn’t do before, but now you’re all together, you can give it a try!” “What is it?” demanded Mike. Tyson was getting fed up of Mike’s attitude, but he decided now wasn’t the time to bring it up. “If you combine all your Blade Blasters into one single attack, then you might be able to destroy Goldar! This attack, the Mega Blast, is the strongest technique available to you at the moment. Give it a try!” The Rangers looked at each other and nodded. “Right, thanks Alpha. Alright guys, lets do this!” Jaden, Tyson and Mike stood side by side and Zoe and Jessica jumped up onto their shoulders, bringing the Blade Blasters together in the middle.

“You’re through, Goldar!”
“Get the hell out of here!”
“Don’t come back!”
“That goes for Rita too!”
“We won’t stop until the Earth is safe!”
“MEGA BLAST, FIRE!”

A white light emerged from the points of the Blade Blasters, merging together to create a massive ball of energy. Goldar formed the barrier again as the blast launched at him. The ball of energy struck the barrier, slowly piercing through it. “Damn!” Goldar yelled. “It won’t hold… NO!” The blast ripped through the barrier, hitting Goldar dead on. A massive explosion could be seen as Goldar fell to the ground.

The Rangers looked at Goldar then looked at each other. Zoe jumped happily. “We did it!” “I wouldn’t count on that, Rangers!” Yelled Goldar. Jaden looked over to see Goldar getting to his feet. He was weakened, but alive. “That’s not possible. No way!”

Goldar staggered to his feet and drew his sword. “Rangers. You might have won this time, but I won’t be defeated again. Next time will be the last time!” With that, flames surrounded Goldar and he teleported away. “I guess… We did it!” exclaimed Tyson. “Well done Rangers!” said a proud Alpha through their helmets. “I’m teleporting you back to the Command Centre now.” With that, the 5 Rangers beamed away.

Inside Rita’s moon palace, Rita wasn’t happy. “You two are complete IDIOTS!” Both the Silver Knight and Goldar stepped back in fear. “You!” She pointed at Goldar. “You lost to a bunch of kids that didn’t know what they were doing, you useless monkey!” she screamed as she hit him with her staff. “And YOU!” she pointed at the Silver Knight. “You were useless! You barely did anything! FIGHT next time, don’t let them get away!” “Yes Empress!” they said in unison. “Now, GET OUT MY SIGHT!” Without saying a word, both warriors quickly fled the main chamber. “Squatt! Baboo! Get me an aspirin!” Yelled Rita. “And where’s Finster? Bring him here, I want to talk to him!”

Back at the Command Centre, the Rangers had arrived and demorphed. “Rangers, welcome back, and well done.” Said Alpha, a gentle, happy tone in his voice. “Thank you Alpha.” Replied Jaden. “But I think the time for celebrating can wait for later; I don’t think Rita’s going to be finished anytime soon. That reminds me, Alpha, we have some questions for you that we need the answers to.” Alpha walked up to them. “That’s understandable. What do you want to know?”

Zoe spoke up first. “You said that there had been a war where the Power Rangers fought before… What were you talking about?” Alpha sighed. “It was a dark point in the history of the universe, Rangers. 40,000 years ago, Rita Repulsa was on the verge of controlling the entire universe. There was a previous team of Rangers back then that fought alongside my master, Zordon, in a final battle against Rita that decided the fate of the universe. The conclusion, Rita being sealed away, won the war, but only delayed the fact that it would happen again someday, and that time has come.”

Jaden questioned Alpha next. “Zordon? Goldar mentioned him. Who is he?” Alpha lowered his head and turned away from the Rangers. Jessica approached him and put her hand on his metal shoulder. “What is it, Alpha?” There was a pause before Alpha spoke again. “Zordon was my master, a very wise sage, and at the time of the war, he ended up being the last hope of the galaxy, using his powers to create the 5 Power Coins you now use. He was the one that sealed away Rita, but before he could finish the spell, Rita…” “Rita what?” Asked Zoe. “Rita sent Zordon into a time warp. I lost him, he’s now hidden somewhere in time, all alone. He turned around to face the tube.” I was hoping that with the tube, I’d be able to find him, but I’ve been unsuccessful, even after 40,000 years. Before he left, he entrusted me with the Power Coins and I promised I’d raise new Power Rangers when Rita would eventually find a way out of her confinement.”

There was silence in the room for a few moments, before Jessica spoke again. “Don’t worry Alpha. We’ll help you find Zordon. One day. You’ll find him. I know it. You can count on us, right guys?” The Rangers all nodded, except for Mike. “Mike, what about you?” Jessica asked. He shook his head. “No. I refuse.” He took off his morpher and placed It on the control console and he began walking to the exit. “But why?” Asked Jessica. “You wouldn’t understand.” He replied, walking away. “That JERK!” yelled Tyson, who started to run off after him, but Jaden stopped him, grabbing his arm. “Let him go. He’s made his choice. We’ll just have to find someone else, right?” The Rangers looked at the morpher he left behind. “Maybe.” Replied Zoe.

“Return to your normal lives.” Instructed Alpha. “I’ll let you know the moment that Rita tries anything. I’m also hoping Mike will come around to the idea of being a Ranger, so don’t go looking for a replacement just yet.” Everyone nodded except Tyson, who thought about it for a moment, then slowly nodded, sighing. “Alright, we’ll see if he comes around. Alpha, could you teleport us home?” “Of course.” Alpha went over to one of the consoles. “See you soon, Rangers.” They nodded as Alpha pressed some buttons on the console and they teleported away. He looked at the tube once again. “Thank you for this chance, Zordon…”

Episode 03 : Monster Mayhem

A week had passed since the first battle against Goldar, yet Rita has made no more attempts to attack Earth. With no way to contact Alpha, the Rangers continued to live their normal lives. On this morning, Tyson, Zoe, Jessica and Jaden were talking in Vinefield High’s courtyard, waiting for their lessons to begin.

“Any one seen Mike lately?” asked Jaden. Zoe shook her head. “Nope, he hasn’t been in school since the last battle. I was speaking to Lee yesterday and Mike’s even shutting him out. Lee’s pretty down about it.” Jaden sighed. “I don’t understand it, my assumption is that Alpha chose us because we had qualities that would help us save the world, which makes Mike seem like a very odd choice…” he drifted off into thought as he finished talking. Tyson shrugged his shoulders. “He’s made his choice not to fight, but we’ve made our choice and we WILL fight. As far as I’m concerned, that’s all I need to know. Let him do what he likes.”

Before anyone could reply, the bell rang. Tyson sighed. “Great, history…” Jessica laughed. “Don’t worry, it’ll be over soon enough!” she joked. Tyson sighed again. “Come on guys, we might as well get going.” They all nodded and walked inside.

On the moon, Rita had been closely watching the Rangers talking. “So, the Black Ranger isn’t a Ranger after all, eh? Perfect. We should get rid of him in case he decides to change his mind!” The Silver Knight walked up to her. “I agree, your evilness, please, allow me to go and destroy him.” She turned around and hit him with her wand, knocking him to the floor. “Destroy him? You didn’t even touch him last time, you useless excuse for scrap metal! No, I need something different. A monster. But what kind of monster could I use?”

Meanwhile, Mike was in the park, sat by the river, looking into the water and thinking to himself. ‘Why can’t I stop thinking about what happened the other day? I don’t want to be a Ranger. All my life I’ve…’ He stopped thinking about it, hearing footsteps behind him. He jumped to his feet and turned around, half-expecting to fight. Instead, he was surprised to see Lee standing there. “Woah, calm down, OK? I just want to talk.” Mike said nothing, just standing there. “What’s up with you all of a sudden? You can talk to me, you know that. Ever since the other day you’ve been blocking me out. We’re friends, and I’m trying to help. Just give me a chance.” Mike knew he was beaten; Lee was the type that would keep coming back if he was sent away. He turned around and sat back down. Lee sat down beside him.

“It’s complicated.” Said Mike. “I think I’ve found some new friends, people that in my mind I know I should be able to trust. But…” He paused. Lee understood what he was trying to say. “But you can’t trust them right?” Mike nodded. “They need my help from time to time, but I don’t want to be involved. Not because what they’re doing is wrong, they’re doing a good thing, I just don’t want to get attached to them. They’ll only end up hating me.” Lee shook his head. “You don’t know that for sure. Whoever you’re talking about, they sound OK to me. If your instincts tell you that you should help them out, then go for it. You can’t expect others to trust you if you can’t trust yourself. I know things haven’t exactly been great for you; I understand that batter than anyone, but if they need you, then you should do the right thing. Don’t sell yourself short, OK? There’s nothing wrong with getting attached to people. Not all people are like the ones you’ve known.”

Mike took a moment to think about what he was saying. “Thanks man. Listen, I don’t want to sound rude but…” Lee interrupted. “You want to be left alone to think some more, right? Sure thing. I’m late for class anyway. You should miss too many lessons you know, you’ll wish you hadn’t later!” With that, he stood up and walked away. Mike remained by the river, wondering what he should do.

Meanwhile, the lesson was going well for the Rangers, it was a history lesson. Their teacher, Mrs Brownwell, a middle aged woman with fairly short black hair and green eyes, was teaching them about mythical beasts. “Now class, the bell’s about to ring. A quick recap of the lesson; who can tell me about the Hydra?” Jaden raised his hand. “Yes, Jaden?” “The Hydra’s a beast from Greek mythology. It’s supposed to have many heads, and each time one is cut away, two more would grow in it’s place.” “Very good, Jaden.” Before she could ask any more questions, the bell rang. “Class dismissed. Don’t forget your homework for next lesson.” Tyson groaned at the mention of homework, causing Zoe to laugh. “Come on Tyson, lets get going.” He nodded at her and the Rangers all walked out with the rest of the class.

“A Hydra, eh?” Wondered Rita, who had been watching the lesson. “Finster, get in here!” Finster walked into the room. “Yes, my Queen?” “Make me a monster that’s like this Hydra beast, something with many heads that can destroy the Rangers!” Finster thought to himself for a moment. “Rita, I do believe I have such a monster, follow me.” Finster walked off towards his lab, with Rita following closely behind.

He showed her one of his clay creations. “I call it the Hydroar. It’s head can create a roar so powerful that it can damage just about anything. As the heads are defeated and it grows more, the roars become more powerful. The plan is to let the Rangers make it stronger, and when they get to a point where they can’t do any more damage, you make it grow and let it’s roars destroy the city. What do you think?” Rita laughed maniacally. “Perfect! Get it ready, right now!” Finster nodded, picking up the clay figure and putting it on the conveyer belt of his machine. “With the monstermatic on full power, we should get a very strong beast indeed.” With that, he moved the figure into the machine and it got to work. Moments later, the monster dropped out of the pipe.

It was shaped like a man, but covered in scales and fur. It’s lone head was shaped like a sea serpent’s. It’s voice was watery, but clear enough to understand. “Empress, how may I serve you?” Rita took one look at the monster and shouted at Finster. “It’s only got one head!” Finster shook is head. “As I said, that’s why we must make the Rangers make it stronger, my Queen.” Rita looked back at Hydroar. “Very well, head to the park in Vinefield and destroy that kid!” “Very well, Empress!” it cried, turning into water and disappearing, teleporting to Earth.

Mike was walking through the park when suddenly the monster materialised in front of him. He jumped backwards, landing in a guarding stance. “What are you?” The monster sneered at him. “I’m Hydroar, and you are doomed!” the monster roared, the force throwing Mike backwards into a nearby tree. He got back up to his feet. “Damn… Why me? I didn’t want to be part of this! Get out of my sight!” he ran at the monster and tried to land some kicks on it, but the monster blocked it, punched Mike, then slashed him with it’s claws, sending him to the floor. “No… This can’t be over…” The monster jumped with joy. “Prepare to meet your doom!” It went to stamp on him, but before it could connect, Mike was teleported away. The monster looked around. “He’s gone! Oh well, time to start destroying the city!”

Mike teleported into the Command Centre. He looked around and, realising where he was, stood up. Alpha rushed to him. “Mike, you’re alive! Are you alright?” Mike checked himself over, he seemed to be OK. “It’s just a few scratches. I’ll be fine.” He paused for a few moments. “Alpha… Thanks for saving my life.” Alpha shook is head. “Don’t worry about it, I wouldn’t let you be killed!” At that moment, those words hit Mike hard. He became lost in deep thought until he felt Alpha poking him. “Mike, Mike? Are you sure you’re OK?” Mike nodded. “Yea, I’m fine. And Alpha, I think I made a huge mistake before. Where’s my morpher?” “Woohoo!” shouted Alpha. “I knew you’d come around.” He nodded. “The city needs the Power Rangers. The other Rangers may not believe in me but… She does.” Alpha tilted his head to the side, confused. “She?” “Jessica.” He thought back to the time on the mountainside a week before. “I don’t think she would have tried so hard to convince me to help out last time if she didn’t think I’d eventually listen. She’s one of very few people that have tried hard with me. Look, enough about this. I need my morpher.” Alpha handed it to him. “Here.” He picked it up and looked at the coin closely. ‘I’m not backing away this time.’ He thought.

The alarm rang out. “The monster?” he questioned. “Yes!” replied Alpha. The monster has found some people in the park and is trying to kill them!” Mike looked at his watch. “The others’ll be back in lessons by now… Alpha, I’ll handle this one alone.” Alpha was quiet for a moment before responding. “This is going to be dangerous… Be careful. Mike nodded. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”

Mike appeared before the monster. “I won’t let you kill these people!” He drew his Blade Blaster and fired a few shots, all hitting the monster, forcing him back a few steps. “So, you’ve finally appeared, Black Ranger. You’re mine!” He drew his head back and threw it forward, roaring loudly. Mike couldn’t dodge in time so he blocked. It pushed him back a few steps, but did little else. The monster seemed shocked. “What? Impossible!” Mike laughed. “I know otherwise. Blade Blaster, Sword Mode!” With the Blade Blaster converted, he charged at Hydroar, doing massive damage as he slashed him again and again. “I’m too close to you to give you enough time to roar; that’s your weakness, you can’t fight so well against me at this range!” he slashed again and paused to let energy build up in the blade of his weapon. “Power slash!” he cried as a beam of black energy landed on the monsters neck, beheading it.

Mike was sure his opponent was defeated and began to walk away. However, when he heard it growling he turned around in shock to find it getting back up, this time with two heads. Mike wasn’t willing to let it get back up, so he went up to the monster and began charging the power slash again, not taking time to think about what he was doing. “Power slash!” he cried as the beam hit the monster again, taking out both heads. This time, it grew 4, right in front of Mike’s eyes. Then he realised his mistake. “No! Killing his head makes it grow another! This isn’t good!” He backed up; knowing if he attempted to kill it again, it would just come back with more. ‘My weapon isn’t enough to destroy it’s body, and I can’t destroy the head, either!’ he thought, trying to quickly think of another way. The monster got back to it’s feet. “Stupid Ranger. That’ll be the last mistake you make!” It roared again, with all 4 heads this time. Mike tried to block it, but it’s full force hit him and did extreme damage, sparks flying everywhere of his suit. He hit the floor hard. ‘There’s nothing more I can do!’ he thought.

On the moon, Rita was ready to bring an end to it all. “Haha, it’s time. Magic wand, make my monster grow!” She threw her wand off the balcony, watching it head to Earth. It smashed into the ground near Hydroar as Mike watched on. “What? What is that?!” he wondered aloud. The ground split, gas seeping out of it. The monster breathed it in and it grew as high as a skyscraper, if not higher. “No way!” exclaimed Mike. “This isn’t good!”

Meanwhile, the other Rangers were in class when suddenly an alarm rang and the voice of Mr Palmers, the Principal, blared out over the speakers. “A notice to everyone. A giant monster, I repeat, a giant monster, has appeared in the city. The authorities have issued an evacuation notice. Everyone to the school shelters. Now!” The rest of the class ran out of the room whilst the Rangers looked at each other, knowing for sure it was Rita. They waited for everyone else to leave and just as they expected, Alpha teleported them away.

At the Command Centre, Mike had been brought back, unable to fight the monster anymore and had demorphed. The other Rangers teleported in. They were all surprised to see Mike. “What are you doing here?” Demanded Tyson. Alpha interrupted. “Mike has been fighting the monster himself, and has agreed to become a Ranger once again!” a smile beamed over Jessica’s face. “You mean it?” Mike nodded. Jessica walked over and hugged him. “I knew you could do it.” Tyson huffed, clearly not happy. “Getting back on topic, Alpha, what’s going on with that monster we’ve heard about?” Alpha pointed. “Look over there, at the viewing globe.”

The Rangers looked at the globe to find Hydroar smashing through skyscrapers with his roars. Zoe looked deeply concerned. “We can’t let him do this! Hundreds of people’ll die if we don’t do something!” Jaden nodded. “Yea, but what can we do? He’s too big for us to handle now.”

“Not necessarily.” Explained Alpha. “I think it’s time to reveal your Zords.” They all looked at each other confused, questioning in unison. “Zords?” Alpha nodded. Look at the viewing globe again.” They looked to see 5 mechanical beasts. They instantly recognised them as their dinosaur beasts. “They’re for us?” quizzed Jessica. “Yes, they are.” Replied Alpha. “The DinoZords are sacred beasts that have been hidden for 40,000 years. But now they must be awakened again to fight that monster. To summon them, you just have to request their power and they will come to you. You’ll also need these.” He showed the Rangers an image of some crystals. These are your Power Crystals. They’ll be needed to control the Zords. Just summon them using your Power Coins.” They all nodded.

Tyson looked at Mike for a second, realising that he might be needed before looking back at the others. “Lets get to it then.” “I’m not coming with you this time. Sorry guys.” Said Mike. “WHAT?!” yelled Tyson. “Wait, wait, wait!” cried Alpha. “It’s not his fault. His powers were badly damaged in the last battle. He’ll be with you as soon as they’ve had enough time to stabilize.” Tyson shook his head. “OK, but you better not let us down.” Mike nodded. “Good luck.” Tyson looked offended by what Mike was saying, but everyone else smiled. “C’mon guys. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“TRICERATOPS!”
”SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”
”TYRANNOSAURUS!”

The Rangers arrived in the park. Tyson was itching for a fight. “Lets do it. We need DinoZord power, now!” One by one, the might DinoZords appeared. The mighty red Tyrannosaurus, the sturdy blue Triceratops, the agile yellow Sabre-Tooth Tiger and the graceful pink Pterodactyl. “Come on!” cried Tyson as they jumped to their Zords.

“Tyson here, Rangers, log on!”
“Jaden here, this looks pretty powerful.”
“Jess here, so this is a Zord, huh?”
“Zoe here, time to take him down!”

The DinoZords appeared before the Hydroar who turned to fight them. “You think those can stop me? Think again!” Jess charged at it with her Zord, leaping up to bite the monster, but it roared to counter, destroying nearby buildings and throwing the Zord back quite a fair distance. Sparks flew around inside her cockpit. “Ahh! I’ve taken pretty heavy damage!” The Triceratops Zord charged next, firing it’s tail cannon. The Pterodactyl flew above it, firing lasers from it’s wings. The blasts pushed it back towards the Tyrannosaurus Zord, who had managed to get behind Hydroar. It swung it’s might tail into the monsters back, forcing him to the ground. It rolled over onto it’s back, just in time to see the Pterodactyl flying overhead. It let out an upwards roar, sending the flying Zord miles into the air, heavily damaging it. “No! I’ve lost control!” screamed Zoe over the Radio. Before getting up, it swung it’s arms out, smashing into the Triceratops which was trying to drive around the monster, rolling it over. “Can’t take much more of this!” exclaimed Jaden. Tyson sat in his cockpit, wondering what to do. He seemed to be their last chance…

“YES!” exclaimed Rita, watching the battle unfolding. “This time, they’re gone for sure!” The Silver Knight approached her. “Empress, do not be convinced of victory just yet. The Black one is yet to appear.” She turned and struck him with her wand once again. “Who asked you?! Get OUT OF HERE!” she screamed, persuading him to flee the room as fast as possible. She turned back to her telescope. “Say goodbye, Rangers!”

Meanwhile, Mike was watching the battle in the viewing globe. “Alpha, how much longer?” Alpha shook his head. “It’d take at least 10 more minutes for you to be able to safely morph. Mike slammed a fist into his palm. “I’m sorry, I can’t wait any more. I have to fight!” Alpha approached him. “But you might be destroyed!” He reached for his morpher. “A risk worth taking. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”

Tyson noticed Mike teleport into the battlefield. “Finally…” he whispered. Mike looked up at the monster. “This ends here. I need Mastodon DinoZord power, now!” The Mastodon Zord appeared, charging into battle. Mike jumped in to log on.

“Mike here, I won’t let you down.”

Mike analysed the options he had with the Zord. “Tyson, I have a plan, you have to trust me, OK?” Tyson was stunned. “Why should I trust you?” “Because if you don’t we might all die here!” Tyson knew he was right. He had no choice. “OK, what’s the plan?” “Just get your special attack ready. I’ll distract it. Fire as soon as you get a clear shot!”

With that, the Mastodon charged at the monster. “Here we go! Ice breath!” a stream of ice-cold wind blasted out of the mighty Zords trunk, freezing the monster in place. “Tyson, now!” Tyson nodded. “Earth splitter!” A cannon from within the mouth of the Zord fired on the ground, approaching the frozen monster in a straight line, leaving blasts in it’s wake. It shot the monster from top to bottom before stopping. The frozen monster fell backwards, landing on it’s back and exploding. Mike and Tyson heard the cheers of the others over the radio. “You did it guys!” “You made a great team.” “Rita’s in trouble now!”

In Rita’s palace, she was furious. “FINSTER! You told me this monster would defeat the Rangers! It failed, you worthless good-for-nothing! Get out of my sight!” “Y-y-yes, my Queen!” exclaimed Finster, who ran for his life. “Those Rangers… I’ve got such a headache!”

Meanwhile, back at the Command Centre, the 5 Rangers were together. “Hopefully Rita’ll stay away from mythical monsters from now on! Good job today, Mike.” said Jaden. “Tyson, don’t you have something to say?” Tyson sighed. “I’m… Sorry for not trusting you. You did good today.” The girls smiled, Jaden nodded and Mike smiled too. “Thanks.” Jessica’s smile widened. “That’s the first time I’ve seen you smile! You’ve come a long way.” His head dropped in embarrassment. Luckily, Alpha interrupted, saving him from replying.

“Rangers, I’ve made something for you!” He held out 5 watches. “Take one. They’re communicators. They’ll allow you to contact each other, myself, and teleport to any place you’ve previously been too.” They all took one each, all of them colour matching their powers. “Thanks, Alpha!” said an enthusiastic Zoe. They all put them on. Tyson stepped forward. “We’re a team now, and if we work together, nothing can stop us.” He reached his hand out. The others nodded and did the same, including Alpha. They all threw their hands up in the air. “POWER RANGERS!”

Episode 04 : The Flower Of Love

It was a bright, sunny Saturday morning in the town of Vinefield. Everyone was off enjoying themselves. Jessica was going for a long run to unwind, whilst Jaden was teaching a guitar class to willing students. Mike had surprised all the Rangers by revealing his hobby; he was a painter. Today he was up in the mountains, finishing a painting of view of the town.

Zoe on the other hand, was getting ready. Today she was going out shopping at the mall with Tyson, who had promised to go with her in return for her helping him out with his homework a few days earlier. She’d been wanting to spend some time alone with him for weeks. She liked him a little, inside she couldn’t deny it. She felt that he didn’t like her that way so she had kept her feelings hidden from him. She assumed that by spending the day alone with him and getting to know the real him, she might work out for sure where she stood. ‘I hope this goes well’ she thought as she left her house to go to the mall.

An hour later and she was outside the mall, waiting for Tyson. She went to check her watch, but ended up being distracted by the communicator she was also wearing. She was a Power Ranger now, and that had changed her life forever. She was pleased that Tyson was a Ranger alongside her, and she felt confident and secure when he took command like he had done during the few battles they had shared together.

She waited for 20 minutes and she finally heard him yelling at her from a distance. “Hey, Zoe, I’m here!” She turned to see him running at her, clearly out of breath. He stopped in front of her. She encouraged him to lean on her so he could get his strength back. She smiled. “What happened to you? You look exhausted!” He took a few deep breaths before replying. “Sorry, I was late for the bus and I missed it completely. I didn’t want to hang around for the next one, so I ran all the way here.” She laughed. “You could have contacted me on the communicator y’know, or even used it to get here!” “I…Uh…” He stumbled on his words, trying to find an explanation. “I guess I didn’t think of it. Sorry!” She laughed again. “Hey, no need to apologise, OK? We’re here now. Let’s go have some fun.” He sighed. “Shopping? How can you find that fun?!” She smiled at him warmly. “You didn’t have to come, you know, like I didn’t have to help you with your homework.” She winked at him and walked inside. Tyson was confused. He hadn’t seen her wink at anyone before. He stopped to think about it for a few seconds before realising she was almost out of sight, causing him to run after her. “Hey, don’t leave me behind!”

After being in a few shops, Tyson caught sight of someone he knew. “Hey, isn’t that Lee over there?” He pointed. Zoe saw him and nodded. “Yea, that’s him.” Tyson looked confused. “Who’s that girl he’s with?” Zoe chuckled. “You really don’t keep up, do you? That’s Liz. She’s been going out with Lee for a few weeks now. They’re a really sweet couple, just like us…” She stopped there, suddenly realising what she’d said. Tyson noticed straight away. “Like us?!?!” he quizzed. “Yea…I mean no…I mean, as friends!” Her answer made no more sense to Tyson than what she’d said before that. Before either person could say anything though, they were interrupted by Lee and Liz, who had seen them and walked over to them.

His girlfriend, Liz, was also from the same school as both Lee and the Rangers. She was of average height for a girl of her age, with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes and a slim build. Like Lee, she was always seen wearing green and she loved to dance.

“Hey you two, what brings you here?” Lee asked. “Isn’t it obvious?” replied Liz. Lee just shrugged his shoulders. “They’re on a date, silly!” Both Tyson and Lee stepped back in shock. “A DATE?!” they shouted in unison. “N-n-no, it’s not like that, honestly!” Zoe said in a panicked voice. “We’re just two friends hanging out that’s all!” Tyson nodded in agreement. “Y-y-yea! There’s nothing going on between us at all.”

Lee chuckled. “Sure, if you say so! Unlike you two apparently, we are on a date.” He looked at Liz. “She’s the best girlfriend ever. I love her loads.” She smirked. “I love you more.” Lee seemed to take offence to this “No, I love you more!” Liz seemed a bit agitated at this point too. “No, I love you more!” ‘Uh-oh… Here we go…’ though Zoe as she and Tyson watched on. They continued for a good five minutes. “I LOVE YOU MORE!” Liz yelled at him. Lee finally backed down. “I really don’t need this… You win, OK? Let’s just get going and see the film. We’re going to be late at this rate…” Liz’s face turned from a frustrated one. “You don’t NEED this?” She slapped him. ‘OUCH’ thought Tyson. “Ow! What was that for?!” Lee asked. “You just don’t get it, do you?” she replied. “Fine! Do what you like!” She stormed off. Lee went to run after her, but turned his attention back to Tyson and Zoe, who had been watching in stunned silence. “Sorry about this, but I gotta run. Bye!” Lee broke into a run, heading after Liz. Tyson and Zoe looked at each other, shrugged and walked away.

Up on the moon, Rita had been observing what had been going on all day, trying to come up with a plan. “So, they love each other so much that they’ve fallen out eh? And little miss Pinky seems to like Tyson… Finster! Get out here, now!” Finster rushed to Rita’s chamber. “Yes, my Queen?” he questioned. “I want you to make me a monster that will make people love each other so much they’ll end up hating each other!” Yes, my Queen. I have one ready. I call her the Rousing Rose. She stirs up romantic feelings in peoples hearts that are so strong they eventually turn on each other.” Rita cackled. “Perfect! Prepare her immediately!” Finster nodded and walked out of the room. “Today’s the day I finally get rid of those annoying brats!” she yelled.

10 minutes later, Finster returned. “Here she is, my Queen. I reveal to you the Rousing Rose.” The monster walked in. She wore red shoes and gloves, her head being a rose petal. The rest of her body was green and seemed to be made of something like vines. Rita cackled. She’s perfect! “Goldar, Silver Knight! Get ready to head to Earth. It’s time to make up for your mistakes!” Both warriors entered the room and knelt before her. “Yes, Empress!” they said in unison. They stood up besides the Rousing Rose and teleported away. The Silver Knight went with the Rousing Rose to the mall. Goldar seemed to go off in a different direction…

Tyson and Zoe had sat down for a drink. Suddenly, they heard an explosion and screams coming from behind them, on the floor below. They stood up and went to the railings. Apart from the ground floor, all the floors were built around the edges of the building, leaving a massive hole that allowed visitors to see the entire building, especially on the top floor, where they were. Tyson panicked and pointed. “Look, it’s a monster!” Zoe nodded. “That Knight… He looks like the one Jessica and Mike told us about the other day.” Tyson nodded. “But what are they doing here?” Then they saw Liz walking across the ground floor, not far from where the monsters were standing. She noticed the monsters standing there and screamed. The Silver Knight drew his sword and threw a ball of energy at her. “NO!” cried Zoe. Suddenly, Lee raced towards Liz and knocked her to the ground, saving her life. She looked up at him. “Y-y-you saved me!” He got to his feet and quickly helped her up. “You have to get out of here, now! I’ll protect you.” He face the monsters and got into a guarding stance, ready to fight. Liz nodded and began to run.

Zoe turned to Tyson. “If we don’t do something, Lee’ll get killed!” Tyson looked around; no-one was left on the floor, they’d all evacuated already. Tyson nodded to Zoe. “Let’s do it. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“TYRANNOSAURUS!”

They jumped and landed in front of Lee. “You’re here.” Said Lee, calmly. “Get away!” yelled Tyson. Lee nodded and run for cover. The Silver Knight turned to the Rousing Rose. “Do it.” The monster nodded. She spread her arms out and suddenly green dust was flying around the entire mall. “What’s going on?” yelled Tyson. “I don’t know!” screamed Zoe as the winds got fiercer.

Meanwhile, Mike had finished his painting and was back at his house, tidying up. His communicator bleeped. He answered it. “Mike here.” He heard Alpha on the other end. “Mike, you must come to the Command Centre immediately! We have an emergency!” “I’m on my way.” With that, Mike teleported away.

Arriving in the Command Centre, he was greeted by Jaden and Jessica. “What’s going on?” he asked. “Rita’s attacking the Earth in two places!” exclaimed Jessica. “Look at the viewing globe.” Said Alpha, a panicked tone in his voice. The Rangers gathered around to see the Rousing Rose, still covering the area in green dust. “What is that?” Jaden asked. “I’m not sure, but the Silver Knight is also there, but he seems to be elsewhere in the building now. I’ll try to locate him, but we have another problem!” explained Alpha as the viewing globe now showed Goldar on a busy street in town. “Goldar!” the Rangers said in unison. “He has many putties with him too, Rangers.” Alpha said. Jaden shook his head. “We’ll have to assume Tyson and Zoe can handle the monster. We have to take care of Goldar. The others nodded. “Be careful, Rangers.” “We will Alpha.” Replied Jessica. “Time to get busy.” Jaden said, reaching for his morpher. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”
“TRICERATOPS!”
“SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”

They all landed before Goldar, who laughed to himself. “So, you’ve arrived! Welcome to your doom! Putties, get them!” The Putties all launched to attack. The Rangers drew their Blade Blasters, converted them to Sword Mode and charged.

At the mall, the winds had stopped and the green dust had disappeared, having been absorbed into everyone. Tyson and Zoe rose to their feet, demorphed. They looked at each other. Tyson brushed Zoe’s hair back behind her ear. “I love you.” He said. “Me too. She replied. They hugged each other and kissed as the monster watched on from a distance, laughing.

Meanwhile, Lee ran through the mall, yelling as loudly as he could “Come out, Knight! I know you’re here!” He stopped running as the Knight landed before him. “You called?” Lee backed up into a guarding stance. “Damn right I called! You nearly killed Liz! Now I’ll kill you!” The Silver Knight drew his sword. “We’ll see.” “GAAAAH!” Lee cried as he charged at him. The Silver Knight swung his sword, but Lee flipped over it and landed a kick to the Knight’s helmet, sending him flying. The Knight then rolled forward, sweepkicking Lee as he landed, knocking him to the floor. He jumped up and they stared each other down before charging each other.

Back on the streets, the Rangers were just finishing up the Putties. As the last one disappeared, Goldar once again stood before them. “Pretty good, but now you’ll have to face me!” Mike shrugged. “We’ve done it before, we’ll do it again. Now get lost.” Goldar laughed. “You’ve asked for it!” He jumped up and used his wings to fly at them at full speed, slashing them with his sword as he passed. He did it again and again, so fast that they couldn’t hope to counter. A few more times and they fell, not attempting to get back up. “Man, he’s really got it in for us today…” said Jaden, too exhausted to get up. “Rita!” Goldar cried. “Let me destroy this place!”

Up on the moon, Rita watched on. “Very well, but don’t you dare mess this up. Magic wand, make my Goldar grow!” She threw her wand towards Earth. It landed in the ground, splitting the ground open and filling the air around Goldar with gas. Moments later, he was massive. “So not good!” exclaimed Jessica as she forced herself to her feet, Jaden and Mike quickly following. “Time to take things to the next level, right guys?” “Right!” they shouted in unison. “We need DinoZord power, now!”

On their command, the Triceratops, Sabre-Tooth Tiger and Mastodon Zords all rode into the city, ready to do their masters will. Jaden nodded at the others and they jumped up, landing in the cockpits, ready to log on.

“Jaden here. Log in guys!”
“Mike here. Time to take out the trash.”
“Jessica here. We can do this!”

Whilst the Zords surrounded Goldar, things were heating up at the mall. The Rousing Rose decided it was time to reveal herself again to the Rangers. “Oh yoooou-twoooo.” They turned around to see the monster. “You again!” they cried. “I’ll be the one to defeat you, to protect my love!” yelled Tyson. Zoe pushed him aside. “No you won’t, I will.” Tyson went to argue again, but a blast from the monster forced them both to the floor. They both got to their feet and looked at the monster. “YOU’LL PAY FOR HURTING THE ONE I LOVE!” they both cried. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“TYRANNOSAURUS!”

Morphed once more, they drew their Blade Blasters and fired on the monster repeatedly before charging their guns. “Power Blast!” they cried. “Fire!” both balls of energy struck the monster tipping it over, making it hit the floor.

The fight between Lee and the Silver Knight continued. Lee continued to evade the slashes from the Silver Knights sword, repeatedly kicking and punching him around. Eventually, the Silver Knight got lucky, a slash connected and Lee was sent to the ground, howling in pain. He quickly shook it off and got back up, ignoring the pain. “I’m intrigued.” Said the Silver Knight. “I sense something strange about you. What is it?” Lee shrugged. “Beat me, and I might tell you, if you’re lucky.” “Beating it out of you, hm? Works for me.” The Knight raised his sword and charged.

Meanwhile, the Zords were making quick work of Goldar. The Sabre-Tooth Tiger kept jumping on his arms, biting them until Goldar threw them off, then it just kept going back, whilst the Triceratops kept firing it’s tail cannons on him from a distance and the Mastodon Zord kept ramming into him. “We’ve got this guy owned!” yelled Mike. “Time to take him down!” cried Jessica, throwing the Sabre-Tooth Tiger onto Goldar’s back, the weight throwing him to the floor face down. The Mastodon charged him and the Triceratops kept firing. Goldar suddenly found a burst of strength and jumped up, throwing the Saber-Tooth Tiger to the floor. He was clearly wounded. “I’ll get you sooner or later, Rangers. This isn’t the end!” With that, he teleported away. “OK guys, we have to get to the mall.” Jaden said. “Right!” the others replied in unison, teleporting to the mall.

At the mall, the two lovers celebrated their apparent victory over the Rousing Rose, hugging each other. The other 3 Rangers teleported in and were stunned by what they were seeing. Jaden was speechless, Mike seemed uninterested and looked away and Jessica was a bit shocked. “What are you guys doing?” They both looked at them all. “None of your business!” Suddenly, they were all hit by a blast. “It’s still alive!” Zoe cried. “Alright guys, ready?” Tyson asked. “Ready!” they replied.

Jaden, Tyson and Mike stood side by side and Zoe and Jessica jumped up onto their shoulders, bringing the Blade Blasters together in the middle.

“Enough is enough!”
“You die. Now!”
“To prove my love!”
“What did you say?”
“To protect my love!”
“MEGA BLAST, FIRE!”

A white light emerged from the points of the Blade Blasters, merging together to create a massive ball of energy. It soared towards the Rousing Rose, hitting it dead on. It collapsed and exploded. The Rangers had one.

“We…Did it…” said Tyson and Zoe, collapsing and demorphing. Jessica immediately dropped to the floor to check them. “You guys go find the Silver Knight, I’ll get them to the Command Centre!” “Right!” they answered, running off. Jessica reached for her communicator. “Alpha, teleport us to the Command Centre!” “Aiyiyi, right away!” Alpha responded as they were teleported away.

Meanwhile, Lee had collapsed as well. He awoke quickly, waking up to find the Silver Knight standing opposite him. “Finally, you’ve come around. Let’s finish this, now.” Lee went back into a guarding stance. “STOP!” yelled Mike and Jaden. Lee turned around to see the Rangers running towards them. “Damn.” Said the Silver Knight. “We’ll meet again, young one.” With that, he teleported away. Lee faced the Rangers. “Are you OK?” asked Jaden. “Yea, I’m fine. Thanks for coming to help. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to find my girlfriend, Liz.” Mike nodded. “She’s downstairs, by the elevator, looking for you.” Lee nodded. “Thanks! I really owe you one.” Lee ran off.

“I wonder how long he was fighting for?” asked Jaden. “Doesn’t matter.” Replied Mike. “We’d better get going.” Jaden nodded and they teleported to the Command Centre.

“YOU IDIOTS!” yelled Rita. “Goldar, you got beaten by them again! And you…” she pointed at the Silver Knight. “You got beaten by a powerless kid! You moron!” The Silver Knight objected. “He’s far from powerless, Empress…” She screamed. “GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!” Upon hearing this, they ran for their lives. “I’ve got such a headache…” she groaned.

An hour later, they were all in the Command Centre. Tyson and Zoe were awake and had been checked over by Alpha, awaiting their test results. “Good news, kiddos!” the robot exclaimed. “Kiddos?” asked Tyson. “Just trying to be cool!” replied Alpha. “Anyway, you’re both OK!” They both looked at each other, smiling. “Thank you Alpha.” Replied Tyson. Zoe looked at her watch. “It’s getting late. I really should head home.” She said. “Me too.” Replied Jaden. “Ok, we’ll see you soon, Alpha.” Said Jessica. “Alrighty. See you soon Rangers!” The Rangers nodded, then teleported away.

The weekend soon passed and Monday came. During lunch break, the Rangers all met up with Lee and Liz. “Good news, you two.” Lee told Tyson and Zoe. “We made up after that little incident. We’re stronger than ever now.” Liz nodded and Lee kissed her. “Incident?” asked Jaden. “Never mind.” Replied Liz, Lee, Tyson and Zoe in unison. “By the way guys…” Tyson began, then paused. “What is it?” Asked Jessica. “Well, we’ve been talking and…” continued Zoe. “Spit it out already.” Demanded Mike. “We like each other, so we’re officially dating now.” They both replied. “WHAT?!” shouted Jaden. Everyone was stunned into silence, apart from Jessica. “That’s great. Good luck you two.” She smiled. The bell rang. “Off to class we go!” Lee said, going to hold Liz’s hand. “Coming?” She smiled and nodded and they walked away together. “Come on.” Tyson told Zoe, grabbing her hand. She also nodded and walked away. Jaden turned to the two remaining Rangers. “Did I miss something?” he asked. “Love doesn’t need to make sense.” Jessica replied, walking off. Jaden sighed and himself and Mike followed her to class.

Episode 05: The Rock That Rolls

It had been a few weeks since the Rousing Rose had attacked the city of Vinefield. Rita hadn’t made any major moves in weeks, although she had sent Putty squads down to the city occasionally just to keep the Rangers preoccupied whilst she kept a watchful eye on the Rangers, waiting for the next opportune moment to strike. Her wait wouldn’t be a long one.

Jaden was happy when Tyson and Zoe got together after their last major battle, they were good together. Jaden himself however was starting to feel a bit distant from his best friend. Tyson seemed to be paying more and more attention to Zoe with every passing day. It had only been a few weeks, but Tyson rarely spoke to him for more than a few moments at a time these days. He felt more left out when he had spoken with Jessica, who was still as close to Zoe as she had ever been.

With seemingly nothing else to do with the time he would normally spend with Tyson, so he had begun to absorb himself more and more with his guitar. He’d recently found an advertisement in the local paper from a rock band looking for potential guitarists. Despite his commitments as a Ranger, he sent off a demo tape to them anyway, hoping they would accept. The morning their response arrived, Jessica had come round to go to school with him; the days of them all meeting at the park long gone.

He opened the front door to see her standing there. She smiled warmly at him. “Mornin’ Jaden!” She noticed that he didn’t have his bag on him, clearly not ready to go yet. “Uh… Jaden? You’re not ready yet? That’s not like you.” “I’m just waiting for the mail, then we can get going, OK?” She shook her head. “This is about the band, right?” He nodded. “Yeah, they said it should come any day now. Uh… Come on in.” She smiled and walked into his house. His parents were out most of the time, so caring for the house mainly fell down to him. He was usually nice and tidy, but lately Jessica had noticed it was getting progressingly getting messier, almost as if he was giving up completely. “Have you tried talking to him?” she asked curiously, correctly perceiving the cause of the problem. He just turned away. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

Looking out of the window, he saw the mailman putting a letter in his letterbox. “Finally.” He said to himself, walking outside and picking up the letter. He walked back in and shut the door. He opened it up and scan-read it quickly. “DAMN!” he yelled, screwing the paper up in a ball and throwing it to the side. Jessica was shocked to see the aggression in him; she’d never seen him like this. “Bad news?” she asked. He hissed. “I’m a failure, alright? I can’t even keep track of my friendships, never mind hoping I could get into a band!” She shook her head. “You’re not a failure… Don’t let it get to you OK? You should talk to Tyson and…” At that point, she tried to put her arms around him, but he fiercely pulled away. As he began to speak, she could hear the sorrow in his voice, like he was about to break down crying. “I’m a failure. Just… Leave me alone.” With that he walked out. A small tear silently fell down her face. She went to the front door with the intent of going after him, but he had disappeared. She started to run to the school; she had to talk to Tyson and settle this, once and for all.

Meanwhile up on the moon, Rita had finally come up with the plan she had taken so much time to perfect. “Finster! Get out here!” He came running, as usual. “Yes, my Queen?” “That brat Jaden seems a bit down in the dumps, and he’s gone off on his own! I need a monster that can trap him. Then, when the others come to look for him, we can destroy the others! Without all 5 of them, they can’t use any team attacks, they’ll be defenceless!” Finster thought to himself for a moment, taking his time before coming up with a suggestion. “What about the Rockstar, my Queen? It’s magically powered boulders can trap anyone to the ground, rendering them immobile. It’s also extremely well armoured; the Rangers Blade Blasters would be useless against it.” Rita cackled. “Perfect! Get it ready at once!” Finster nodded. “Right away, my Queen.”

A few moments later, the sounds of Finsters Monstermatic could be heard in the background. Then, he walked back into the room with the Rockstar, a large, bulky creature that looked like it was made of various rocks and boulders. “What may I do for you, Rita?” it asked. “The Blue Ranger is down in the hills near Vinefield. Get down there and make sure he doesn’t go anywhere, then wait for the other Rangers to help him and finish them all off once and for all!” It jumped around, clearly excited at the prospect to fight such strong opponents. “At once! Off I go!” with that, he teleported towards Earth…

Around that time, Jessica had finally made it to the school. Her running training was clearly paying off for her; despite hanging around Jaden’s house, she still managed to get there 10 minutes before the lesson began. She quickly found Zoe and Tyson, sat together on one of the benches outside. Zoe saw her running up to them and shook Tyson’s arm gently. “Isn’t that Jess? Something seems wrong.” They both got up to talk to her. “Jess, you don’t look so good. What’s the problem?” Tyson asked. Jessica returned his question with a slap. “OW! What the heck was that for?” She shook her head, tears rolling down her face. “Jaden, your best friend? Remember him? He thinks you’ve grown distant, as if he’s the one that’s failed to keep your friendship going. Now he’s run off somewhere! You have to help me find him and talk to him!” Zoe looked at Tyson, stunned. “I thought you told me things were going well between you two?” He shook his head. “I thought they were. C’mon, we’d better get looking. Let’s head to the park. School’ll have to wait.” They both nodded and started running to the park, unaware they were going completely in the wrong direction. Surprisingly, none of them thought of contacting Alpha and asking him to locate him for them…

Meanwhile, Jaden was walking through the hills near the city. ‘Damn…’ he thought to himself. ‘Jess’ right; how did I ever let it come to this. The anger I had earlier… It’s not who I am. She’s right, I should talk it through with Tyson…’ Suddenly, he heard a voice coming out from behind him. “Hey, Ranger boy! Surprise!” He turned around to see the Rockstar in front of him. He quickly reached for his morpher, but the monster fired a boulder at him, yellow energy encircling it. It hit him in the chest, knocking him to the floor. The monster fired a few more at him until he was caught under 4 or 5 of them. He tried to move, but realised he was stuck. “You! What is this?” he yelled, desperate for an explanation. ‘I don’t get it… They don’t look so heavy, but they’re impossible to move!’ he thought. The monster laughed. “You were a fool to run away from your friend like that, and as a reward, you can see their destruction when they come to find you!”

At Mike’s house, he was still fast asleep having slept through his alarm, but he quickly woke up with a start. He hadn’t mentioned it to any of the others before, but he got a strange feeling whenever a monster was around, and now he could sense it again, stronger than before. Without hesitating, he picked up his morpher, then went to pick up his communicator to contact Alpha to make sure. However, he couldn’t find it. “Uh oh…” he whispered to himself. He took a quick glance around the room, but he couldn’t see it anywhere. Something deep down was telling him that he didn’t have the time to waste. If he was right, the morpher would take him straight to the monster if there was one; if not, then at least no-one would see him morph. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”

Mike arrived at the hills, the Rockstar awaited him. He saw Jaden lying on the ground behind him. “Jaden!” he yelled. Jaden saw Mike, surprised that he was here without the others. Still, he had to try and make sure he wasn’t captured too. “There’s no time to explain, watch out for the rocks!” Mike nodded, drew his Blade Blaster, converted it to Sword Mode and charged. The monster laughed. “So, Black is the first one up to try and save Blue here? Heh, I don’t think so.” It fired off a rock at Mike, but Mike quickly spun round, the blade of his weapon slamming against the rock, knocking it aside. Mike got up to the monster and charged up, getting ready to strike. “Power Slash!” he yelled, the blade of his weapon turning into a black stream of pure energy. It connected, but to his and Jaden’s amazement, it bounced off. The Rockstar delivered a powerful combination of kicks and punches, sending the Black Ranger flying. He slowly rose to his feet. “Impossible! Darn it, I should have looked harder for the communicator.” Jaden looked on, horrified. ‘This is all my fault. Now look what I’ve done! The others don’t stand a chance!’

Meanwhile, the other Rangers raced through the park, hopelessly looking for Jaden. Suddenly, their communicators bleeped. Tyson answered. “Tyson here.” The Rangers instantly recognised Alpha’s voice. “Rangers! You must head to the hills immediately! Jaden and Mike are under attack by a monster known as the Rockstar. He’s managed to trap Jaden, you must free him at once!” Tyson looked at the floor. “No! This is all my fault. If only I’d paid more attention to him he wouldn’t have run off and we wouldn’t be fighting this battle.” Zoe held his arm. “It’s my fault too, but don’t talk like it’s over! We have work to do!” Jessica nodded. Tyson looked back up. “Let’s rock! IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”
“TYRANNOSAURUS!”

The Rangers arrived on the scene just in time to see Mike get hit by one of the Rockstar’s boulders. “Mike!” Zoe yelled. Everyone ran over and quickly threw the rock off him. “Guys, Jaden’s in trouble, look!” The Rangers looked over to see Jaden lying on the floor. Tyson clutched his fists, angered. “We gotta get him out of there, now!” Zoe looked over at Jessica. “We’ll go over and get him, you guys hold this vision of ugliness off for a while, OK?” Tyson and Mike nodded. “Alright!” They replied in unison. Tyson drew his Blade Blaster. “Feel like a close-up approach?” Asked Tyson. Mike nodded, readying his Blade Blaster. “Cover me.” With that, Mike rushed the Rockstar again. “Take this!” the monster yelled, throwing more boulders at him. Mike expertly dodged whatever Tyson couldn’t manage to blast away before getting to the monster. He started to chain combos together whilst Tyson ran towards them to join in, converting to Sword Mode too. They were putting up an impressive fight, but they didn’t seem to be doing much to it. “This thing is tough!” yelled Tyson. “My Power Slash didn’t scratch it. Keep your guard up.” Warned Mike.

Zoe and Jessica had reached Jaden in the meantime. They quickly worked together to free him. When he was free, he sat up. Jessica immediately hugged him before Zoe did the same. “I’m so sorry we couldn’t find you faster.” Said Jess. “I’m sorry too. It’s my fault this all started in the first place.” Jess shook her head. “We can’t keep blaming ourselves. We all make mistakes. Lets work like real friends and help each other out!” Jaden and Zoe nodded. Jaden stood up and reached for his morpher. “I won’t let anything else happen to my friends! IT’S MORPHIN’…” Before he could finish, they were interrupted by Alpha. “Rangers! It’s too dangerous to fight like this! I’m teleporting you back to the Command Centre now. I have something for you that might help!” Before they could respond, they teleported away. The Rockstar huffed. “Damn Rangers, running away before I could destroy you! I guess now you’ve run away; the city is mine!” With that, he teleported away too.

Back at the Command Centre, the Rangers teleported in, the Rangers suited and helmetless, apart from Jaden. Jaden walked up to Alpha, questioning him with his old, gentle voice. “Why did you teleport us out Alpha? We could have won if we worked together!” Alpha nodded. “Perhaps, Rangers. But I believe the time has come to reveal your Power Weapons to you.” “Power Weapons?” asked Zoe, confused. “These weapons were specifically designed by Zordon when he created the Power Coins.” They all looked at Alpha. “Zordon created them?” asked Jaden. Alpha nodded “Yes. In his travels over the years, Zordon learned many great techniques. One of the last techniques he learnt enabled him to access a great storage of infinite energy which he calls the Morphing Grid. By using another technique to reach out to the souls of those long gone, in this case the dinosaurs, Zordon was able to create the Power Coins, leading to the powers you have now. But the time for full explanations is not now, Rangers. Hold out your hands.”

A flash of light illuminated the room. Everyone except Jaden was holding a weapon. Alpha continued. “These are your Power Weapons. Tyson, you are the wielder of the Power Sword. Jessica, you control the Power Daggers. Zoe, you will be the master of the Power Bow and Mike, you will have the Power Axe at your side.” Jaden looked confused. “What about my weapon?” Alpha shook his head. “Don’t worry, Jaden. You have been given the Power Lance, which will be at your disposal next time you morph. As with your Blade Blasters, your weapons can come together to form the Power Blaster, a combination that will grant you great power. However, you should try this as a last resort due to it’s extreme power.” They all nodded, and the alarm went off. The Rangers turned to the viewing globe to see the Rockstar wreaking havoc on a deserted street, throwing cars into nearby buildings. Tyson looked on. “We have to get moving. Ready guys?” They nodded. “Back to action!” Jaden watched the others teleport away. “My turn. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“TRICERATOPS!”

The Rangers appeared before the Rockstar, who turned to face them. “Back for more eh? Prepare to meet your end.” The Rangers reached out their hands. “Power Weapons!” they cried, each of their individual weapons appearing in their hands. The Rockstar backed away slightly. “What? This can’t be!”

Rita looked on from her balcony. “What? They have new weapons? How can this be? Finster! Are you sure the Rockstar’s defence is good enough?” Finster nodded, slowly. “Quite sure, my Queen. It will succeed for certain.” She hissed. “It better, or you’ll be sorry!”

“Let’s show him what we can do!” cried Zoe, raising her bow, quickly taking aim and firing a few shots away. “Take this! Power Arrow!” she cried. A pink light appeared where the arrow should be and formed an arrow shape. She pulled back the string and let go. The energy arrow shot at the Rockstar at incredible speeds, piercing through it’s armour. Before it could react, Tyson leapt in with his sword, landing several slashes with it. “You’re going down! Power Swing!” Lifting his sword over his shoulder, the blade glowed in a bright red light. He threw it over his shoulder, bringing it down on a downwards diagonal slash, the monster taking the full blow. Jessica was up next, racing up to it and slashing at it with her daggers extremely quickly, chaining a massive combination together. She then started to backflip. “End of the line! Power Throw!” The blades of the daggers gleamed in a bright yellow light. As she finished the flip, she threw the daggers out, soaring towards the monster, piercing through it before teleporting back to her hands. Mike ran in and jumped, bringing the full force of the axe down on the head of the monster, striking all the way down it’s body. He kicked it forward and jumped back, turning the axe into a cannon in the process. “Time to die! Power Shot!” a massive black ball of energy shot out of the cannon, landing into the monster, knocking him back. Finally, Jaden jumped in, attacking the monster with his Power Lance with great skill. He pulled the lance back, blue energy charging at the tip of the blade facing the monster. “It’s the end for you! Power Stab!” He shoved the lance forward into the stomach of the monster, piercing through it’s entire body. He pulled it out of him and the monster fell to the ground. Jaden pulled back and rejoined the others.

“Did we do it?” asked Zoe. Their answer was easy to see as it started to get back up. “No way!” exclaimed Jaden. “I’m going to kill you all!” yelled the monster. “Time to end this. Bring ‘em together!” ordered Tyson. They nodded.

Mike converted the axe back into a cannon, throwing it into the air.
“Power Axe!”
Zoe then threw up her Bow, landing below the cannon.
“Power Bow!”
Jessica threw up her daggers, connecting on the outsides of the bottom of the bow.
“Power Daggers!”
Jaden split his lance in two and threw them up, which connected next to the daggers, on the inside towards the middle.
“Power Lance!”
Tyson jumped in the air, placing his sword on top.
“Power Sword!”
He landed with the Power Blaster and the others came to his side. They locked the monster in their sights.
“POWER BLASTER, FIRE!”

Five beams fired from the cannon, piercing into the monster, destroying it completely. The Rangers cheered. “We did it! We rescued Jaden and defeated the monster!” exclaimed Jessica. “Now, we’d better get to school. We’re running a bit late now!” said Jaden. They laughed and teleported away whilst Alpha watched on in the viewing globe. “You make a great team, well done, Rangers.”

“FINSTER!!!” screamed Rita. “You told me this monster wouldn’t fail!” Finster didn’t try to argue with her. “GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!” Without word, Finster ran away, again. “I need someone COMPETENT around here!” she cried.

After school, Tyson, Jaden and Zoe met up. Tyson held out his hand to Jaden. “I’m sorry man, I never meant to get carried away with Zoe. I’ll always be here for ya bro. Best friends for life, right?” Jaden shook his hand. “You got it, man.” Zoe hugged Jaden. “I didn’t mean for this to happen either. I’m just glad everything is sorted now.” Jaden nodded. “Definitely. Now, Jess has finally convinced Mike to hang out with us and get a bite to eat. Interested?” They both grinned. “Definitely!” they said in unison. Jaden smiled. “Great, let’s go.” With that, they walked off to join the others…

Episode 06 : Ranger On The Run, Part I

Up on the moon, Rita was trying to plot another plan for getting rid of the Rangers, once and for all. “I don’t understand it! We’ve tried everything, yet we still can’t get rid of those Power Brats! Goldar, Silver Knight, Finster! Even you two useless morons Squatt and Baboo… I NEED A PLAN!” she screamed. Goldar and the Silver Knight turned to each other. “Rita’s asking US for a plan?” whispered Goldar. The Silver Knight nodded. “Yes, and I have just the idea in mind.” Whispered the Silver Knight, who quickly turned his attention back to Rita. “Empress, I believe I have a plan. Please, allow me to leave the palace to find something I hid on a nearby planet during our last conquest.” Rita instantly looked curious, but she didn’t want to ask for the details, just in case they worked out that this time, she really didn’t have a clue and needed it all explaining to her. “Something you left behind, hm? Very well, go!” she responded. The Silver Knight nodded. “At once, Empress.” With that, he teleported away.

Meanwhile, the sun was shining down during another beautiful afternoon in the city of Vinefield. Mike was out with Lee and Liz up in the mountains, whilst Tyson and the others were by the schools running track, cheering on Jessica as she practiced. Jessica was a keen runner, always out running when she had some free time to help her keep fit. There was going to be a huge inter-school race in a few days time, and as the runner for Vinefield High, she was allowed access to the track whenever she liked in order to practice. The Rangers watched her finish yet another lap and she came over to them for a drink. As she walked over to them, Zoe smiled and handed her some water.

“You’re doing great out there Jess, you’ll win that race for sure!” Jess smiled back. “Thanks Zoe.” Tyson put his hand on her shoulder. “I really don’t know how you keep it up, really! I’m getting worn out just watching you practice!” he chuckled. She laughed. “You? Worn out? You should be used to a good run with all the times your late!” all the friends laughed at that, although Tyson quickly stopped laughing once he got the joke. “Hey, that’s not funny!” Jaden looked down at his watch. “It’s getting late guys, I have to get going.” They all turned to him. Jessica gave him a hug. “Alright, have a good evening Jay.” He nodded, then looked over at Tyson and Zoe. “Are you guys hanging around here a little longer?” They nodded. “Yea dude, we’ll hang around just a little longer. Take care, OK?” said Tyson. Jaden smiled. “Yea, will do. You all take care too. And Jess, don’t stay out here too long, alright? You need the rest!” She smiled. “Thanks for caring.” He nodded. “Right then, cya guys.” And with that, he walked away, and Jess headed back out to the track.

Back on the moon, the Silver Knight had returned. He walked into the main chamber holding something shaped like a tray with 3 holes in there, but only 1 of them only had something in it, a small white stone. “Empress, I have returned!” he said in a heightened voice. Rita came out of her room and looked at the case. “W-w-wait, isn’t that…?” The Silver Knight nodded. “Yes, my Empress. This is the last Chaos Gem, a stone with the power to transport people to other dimensions. Anyone sent there will be stuck there, where I will hunt them down. My unique abilities allow me react to the stone, allowing me to transport myself and others between this and the created dimension instantly.” Rita cackled. “Perfect! I even have a monster and a Ranger in mind! FINSTER!” Finster came running from his lab. “Yes, my Queen?” “I need you to make me a monster, a specific one. Get me the Howling Hunter, at once!” Finster jumped in shock. “The Howling Hunter? But Rita, that’s one of the most dangerous monsters we have!” Rita hit him with her staff. “What are you afraid of, moron!? GET TO IT!” Finster jumped again, then ran to his lab to make the preparations.

The Silver Knight walked towards the balcony. “Empress, which Ranger do you have in mind?” Rita walked up to him. “Look through the telescope!” The Silver Knight did as he instructed and saw Jessica running on the track. The sun was setting now, leaving the sky a burning orange colour. Everyone else had gone home, even Tyson and Zoe, leaving her alone; an easy target. The Silver Knight stepped away from the telescope and nodded. “I understand, very well!” With that, he disappeared.

Jessica ran passed the finish line once again. She had been practicing all day at this point, and she was getting pretty tired. ‘One more lap, then I’ll call it a night.’ She thought. Suddenly, a blast hit the ground behind her, knocking her to the floor, face first. She quickly got up and turned around to face her attacker, only to see the Silver Knight, who began walking towards her. “It’s over before it’s begun if you can’t keep an eye on what is going on around you.” He stated. She knew she was in trouble; her morpher and her communicator was in her sports bag and there was no way she could reach it before he caught her. “W-what do you want?” she demanded. He stopped walking and held out his hand, which held the Chaos Gem. “Your destruction.” He replied as he threw the gem at her feet. A white wave of energy flew out of the gem, consuming her and the Silver Knight before the gem shattered, leaving no trace of either of them or the gem itself.

Rita watched on from the moon. “Excellent! Goldar!” Goldar walked up to her. “Yes, Empress?” “The Silver Knight’s plan worked! Now, get down there and distract the other Rangers! They’ll more than likely know what happened by now, so take some Putties and keep them busy!” Goldar nodded and teleported away.

Meanwhile, Jessica woke up in strange place, covered in purple mist. Quickly looking around her, it looked like she was on a roadside in a heavily run-down industrial town. She quickly got to her feet. Looking around, she finally found the Silver Knight on a walkway 2 floors off the ground on a building on the other side of the road. “Yellow Ranger! Prepare to be destroyed. Soon, nothing will stand in Rita’s way! Once I get rid of you, taking down the other Rangers will be no problem at all!”

She was stunned. She really had no idea what to do. She was trapped, against an opponent far stronger than her with no hope of contacting her friends to let them know where she was – even though she didn’t know where she was taken to. One thing she did know for certain though was that they’d find out sooner or later what had happened, and they’d come looking for her. She had to hold out until they found her. “You think you’ve won, but this is far from over!” she cried. “We’ll see.” He replied, firing bolts at her, exploding on the ground. She dodged them as best as she could, taking cover in a nearby alley. She kept running; she’d have to play hide and seek with him until help arrived. He had other ideas, however. He laughed to himself and teleported away, heading back to Rita’s palace.

Back on Earth, Tyson was walking Zoe home. She had been at his house for some tea (one of the rare times he actually cooked, and for once, she actually liked his cooking). They were nearly at the door, when suddenly their communicators bleeped. They both looked around to make sure no-one was in hearing distance before Tyson replied. “Tyson here.” They heard Alpha’s voice on the other end. “Rangers! You must head to the park immediately! Goldar and some Putties have arrived! Jessica is also in trouble as well, so you must hurry and win this battle!” Zoe and Tyson looked at each other before Zoe responded. “Jess is in trouble? In what way?” Alpha quickly replied. “There isn’t any time to explain! Goldar is nearing the residential district! If you don’t get there now, it will be too late! Jaden and Mike are already there, but they are having trouble beating them. Hurry, Rangers!” They nodded at each other. “Right Alpha, we’re on our way.” Replied Zoe. “Ready?” She asked Tyson. He nodded. “Ready. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
”TYRANNOSAURUS!”

The two Rangers arrived just in time to see Mike and Jaden getting beaten up by Goldar and the Putties, being thrown to the side. Even with the help of their Power Weapons, they were still quickly losing ground. Tyson and Zoe ran too them, causing the Putties to back off a little. Goldar was quick to taunt them. “You Rangers haven’t got a chance against me! You should just admit defeat and let me kill you, much like your Yellow friend has been!” Zoe stepped forward, ready to fight. “You’re lying! She’d never be beaten by you or that freak in stupid armour!” With that, Zoe rushed him, leaving the others no time to react. “Zoe, don’t!” cried Tyson, but he was too late to do anything. Zoe had drawn her Blade Blaster, converted it and tried to fight Goldar in hand to hand. Within seconds, he’d dealt several powerful slashes to her, sending her flying. Tyson ran over to check on her.

“Are you alright? Zoe!” She looked up at him and tried to stand, but she had been severely weakened by Goldar’s attacks. Tyson gently moved her back to the floor. “Rest up a second. Let us handle this, OK?” She nodded slowly. Tyson turned to the others. “Lets go!” They nodded and charged with their Power Weapons in hand. Tyson summoned his Power Sword and also charged.

Meanwhile, up on the moon, the Silver Knight was back in the palace. “Empress Rita, the girl is secured. Where is the Howling Hunter? It would work in our benefit to end this as quickly as possible. It appears that she doesn’t have her Power Coin with her, although she is trying to hide. I’m confident that she stands no chance against me or the Howling Hunter.” Rita nodded. “Finster! Get out here. Bring your fur-filled friend with you!”

Finster appeared with a monster by his side. It looked like a werewolf, but this monster definitely had no humanity in him. “I present the Howling Hunter to you, my Queen.” The monster just jumped up and down. “Hunt, hunt, HUNT!” Rita stepped back a few steps; even for one of Finster’s monsters, this was a very fierce one. “Perfect! You will go with the Silver Knight. When you get to his dimension, kill the Yellow Ranger!” The monster let out a ear-shattering howl. The Silver Knight walked up to it, turning to Rita. “Empress, I will soon return. The hour of victory shall soon be yours.” She cackled loudly as he teleported away, taking the monster with him.

They appeared in the alternate dimension. “Go.” Said the Silver Knight. The Howling Hunter started sniffing, howled loudly and jumped off the balcony it was stood on, landing several floors below on the road before running at a very fast pace, hunting down it’s target. The Silver Knight laughed. ‘There’s no way the Ranger could handle this monster alone, even with her powers. She is doomed, and soon, so will the Earth be.” He laughed before jumping down to the roadside, walking off in the direction the monster disappeared in.

Over in a building a few blocks away, Jessica heard the howl from the monster. She stopped dead in her tracks, trying to work out where the noise was coming from. ‘What WAS that?’ she thought. ‘Has that Silver freak brought something else with him?’ she had a feeling she didn’t want to know. Turning back towards where she was going, she carried on running.

Meanwhile, Tyson and the others were doing well against the Putties, their weapons were helping them out considerably. They seemed to be doing well until Goldar charged them, charging full speed into Tyson, sending him flying into Jaden. Mike blasted his Axe Cannon at the last of the Putties, taking it out. Turning his attention to Goldar, he was too late; Goldar was already right behind him. Turning around, Goldar delivered a painful slash across Mike’s chest, sparks flying from his suit.

Zoe stood up and summoned her Power Bow. Goldar raised his sword, ready to finish Mike off. Suddenly, an arrow of pure pink energy flew into Goldar’s back, creating an explosion that severely hurt Goldar, sending him flying. Landing on the floor, he struggled to get back up. “Curse you Rangers, you haven’t seen the last of me! I’ll be back!” with that, he burst into flames and teleported away. Mike came over to Zoe and gave her a gentle hug. “That was unexpected, especially for you!” she said. He looked away. “Just my way of thanking you for saving my life.” Tyson and Jaden ran over. “This battles over, but we have to get to the Command Centre! If I heard Alpha right, Jess is in serious trouble!” They nodded and teleported away.

On the moon, Goldar received the usual blow to the head from Rita’s wand. “You USELESS idiot! You couldn’t even hold four of them off, with help!” Goldar tried to explain, even though he knew explaining to her would make no difference. “Empress, their Power Weapons are extremely powerful. There’s nothing I could do!” Rita hissed. “SILENCE! At least you held them off for a while. I guess there’s little they can do to save their friend now anyway. Now, get out of my sight!” Goldar backed off a bit before limping away as fast as he was able.

At the Command Centre, Alpha was pacing up and down waiting. Moments later, the Rangers teleported in. Zoe quickly rushed up to Alpha. “What’s happened to Jess, Alpha?” Alpha sighed. “Please, calm down and listen closely. The Silver Knight appears to have taken her to another dimension. For the moment, there appears to be no way of reaching her. I can’t even find her on the scanners. There’s no telling how long she can survive, wherever she is. Even worse, I recovered these…” The Rangers looked over at a console that Alpha was pointing at. Zoe walked over and saw Jessica’s Morpher and communicator. She looked over at Tyson, tears beginning to roll down her face. “No… It can’t be.” She whispered as Tyson came over and hugged her tightly. She buried her face in his chest as she burst into tears.

“Alpha, you have to find her, please!” pleaded Mike. The other boys turned to him. “You’re a lot more concerned than usual.” Analyzed Jaden. “She’s an important friend to me.” He replied. “And look at Zoe.” Said Tyson. “We have to do something, Alpha.” Alpha shook his head. “I’m not sure if there is anything I can do. I’m looking over the database as fast as I can trying to find something that might be able to strengthen the sensors and the teleporters. That’s all I can do for now.” Jaden and Mike walked up to the consoles. “We’ll help you Alpha.” They said in unison. “Please…Please…” wept Zoe as Tyson continued to hold her.

Meanwhile, Jessica ran out of the building she was in. She heard a loud howl. Turning to her right, she saw a silver-haired creature in the distance. It howled again and began to charge at her. She screamed and ran back in the building, leaning against the door. She felt the creature’s sheer force as it rammed the door. Moments later, the door gave way. She flew forward, landing face down. She flipped over and her eyes widened at the sight of the werewolf like monster. She had no idea what to do next. “It’s over.” Her head spun around to the source of the words, only to find the Silver Knight standing in the only other doorway in the room. ‘Is it over?’ she thought to herself…

Hey everyone. Really sorry for the lack of updates; haven't had much time recently. Should be updating every couple of days now though!

Episode 07 : Ranger On The Run, Part II

Jessica quickly looked around the room for a way out. With the Silver Knight behind her and the monster in front of her, there wasn’t much room to maneuver. Looking around to her right, she could see a stack of barrels. It was a long shot, but she had an idea. She quickly jumped up backwards, slamming the Silver Knight into the door. The monster ahead of her lunged at her. Anticipating it, she quickly rolled to the side and it lunged straight into the Silver Knight. Landing behind the barrels, she quickly got to her feet and kicked them in a smooth motion, causing the entire stack to land on both of her enemies.

She ran to the door and briefly looked back, smiling. “You guys are a barrel of laughs! Cya!” With that, she ran out of the door where the monster had come from, running down the street outside. Meanwhile, the Silver Knight pushed the Howling Hunter and the barrels off of him. “GET HER!” he yelled. The monster howled and ran out of the door. ‘She’s a smart one.’ He thought. ‘But not smart enough. She might be a good runner, but no-one can run forever.’ He stood up and walked out onto the street.

Back at the Command Center, Alpha and the others we’re still scanning. Zoe had calmed down by this point and she and Tyson we’re now helping too. “I’ve got something!” exclaimed Jaden. The others gathered around to see what he had found. “According to the database, there’s a place hidden on Earth called the Cave of Power. Inside that cave, there are many stones known as the Stones Of Power. If we can get just one of them, we’ll be able to dramatically increase the Command Center’s functionality. With it, we should be able to find Jess with no problems.”

The Rangers looked at each other. They knew that this might be the only option they have; they would have to try. “Let’s do it!” said Mike. Tyson shook his head. “Hang on, there’s one issue we haven’t thought of – if these stones are so powerful, if we uncover them it would lead Rita and her goons right to them!” The confident expression that the Rangers had gained suddenly fell from their faces.

“There’s nothing to worry about, Rangers!” Alpha commented. The Rangers turned around to face their Automaton friend. “The Stones of Power give off a certain energy that can be harmful for anyone that has a connection with magic. Anyone else should be fine around them. Rita and her minions may try to stop you heading into the caves, but they can’t enter them themselves. It’s getting dark too, but there should still be more than enough daylight to see with if you hurry.” Tyson nodded. “We have nothing to lose then. We’d better get a move on. Thanks for the heads up Alpha.” The Rangers reached for their communicators and within moments they were gone.

When they arrived, they found themselves at the bottom of a cliff. They looked around, Tyson looking confused. “Uh...Jaden? I don’t see any caves around here.” He said. Jaden just sighed. “I said it was hidden. You’re not meant to be able to see it. According to what I saw in the database, the entrance can be found by looking for a white rock in the cliffside. That’s the secret switch to open the caves.”

“We should split up then. We need to hurry!” Zoe exclaimed. Tyson nodded in agreement. “Alright, lets go in pairs. Jaden and Mike will be one group, me and Zoe will be the other. If you find the entrance, get in touch.” Mike turned away. “You got it. Jaden, lets move!” with that, they both ran off, checking the cliffside as they went. Tyson turned to Zoe. “Let’s go.” She nodded and they went the other way.

On the moon, Rita was observing the teens with her telescope. ‘A hidden cave with a white switch? That can only be the Cave of Power!’ she thought. She groaned. The Rangers might have found a way to ruin another perfect plan. “Goldar!” He came running. Luckily for him, he had enough time to recover from the last battle. “Yes my Queen, how can I serve you?” “The Rangers might be on to something. They can’t be allowed to interfere again. I need you to get down there now and stop them!” Goldar drew his sword. “Of course, Empress!” With that, he burst into flames and teleported away.

Meanwhile in the Silver Knight’s dimension, Jess was forced to take a rest. She was really tired, especially after all the track running she had been doing earlier in the day. ‘I can’t do this for much longer... I believe in you guys. Hurry!’She heard the piercing sound of the monster howling once again. It was close. She shook her head, wondering when this madness would end. She got back up on her feet and started running again.

Back on Earth, Jaden and Mike were still searching for the cave. Up ahead, Mike caught sight of something that might be the cave switch. “Jaden! Over here!” he called. He started running towards it, only for his communicator to go off. Jaden stopped to listen in to his, and Mike stopped too and listened in on his communicator. “Guys! We need your help! Goldar’s here!” Mike looked up at Jaden, who was motioning towards the cliffside. “I’ll go help them, you should carry on! We might be running out of time!” Mike nodded and agreement and carried on running. Jaden reached for his morpher. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“TRICERATOPS!”

Jaden arrived where the others were fighting. Tyson was charging at Goldar, his Blade Blaster in Sword Mode in one hand and his Power Sword in the other, whilst Zoe was taking aim with her Power Bow. Tyson spun around, trying to hit Goldar with both strikes, although he was able to block both strikes and then counter with his sword, knocking Tyson back a few feet. Zoe fired her arrow, which turned into an energy arrow which Goldar avoided whilst laughing. “I’m not going to get beaten the same way twice, Ranger!” Goldar jumped towards Jaden, who summoned his Power Lance, defending himself from the blow.

At the other end of the cliffside, Mike was examining the white stone. From what Jaden had told them, he was sure it was the switch for the cave. He started messing around with it, pushing it, pulling it, but nothing was working. He tried turning it to the left, but it didn’t move. He tried it the other way and suddenly it moved on it’s own, glowing in a brilliant white light. Part of the cliff started to glow the same color, roughly the size of the front of a van. The light faded and that part of the wall was gone, revealing the cave entrance.

“Bingo.” Mike muttered, walking inside. He got a few feet in and could see a gentle glow around the corner ahead. A few steps further and he began feeling a little dizzy. ‘Strange, I thought Alpha said it only effected people with a magical connection?’ he wondered. He took a few paces back and he returned to normal. “Fine, guess I’ll need to morph. Gotta do this for Jess’ sake. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”

Moving deeper into the cave once more, he felt a weird sensation, but nothing more. ‘Hang in there, I’m coming.’ He thought.

In the Silver Knight’s dimension, Jess was still running from the monster out in the streets. She saw a building ahead and ran into it, shutting the door behind her. Looking around, she saw a crate nearby and pushed it against the door, blocking it. Taking a closer look around her though, she realized she was trapped – there were no other exits to the building except from the windows on the second floor, but the stairs that led up to it had collapsed.

Suddenly, she heard an all too familiar voice above her. “Time’s up, Yellow Ranger.” She spun around to see the Silver Knight, standing on one of the rafters far above her. He jumped down, landing in front of her. She took a few steps back, ending up against the wall. Deep down, she knew the time for running was over. Against the odds, she had to fight.

He drew his sword. “For the glory of my Empress, you will die here. And soon, your friends will fall too.” He lunged at her, hoping to stab her. She jumped out of the way and kicked him in the back, but it did no damage. “Without your Power Coin, you’re nothing. You can’t even hope to beat me.” He ran at her, slashing his sword. She dodged it but he followed it up with a strong kick, sending her flying into the wall.

She quickly got to her feet. He laughed. “If you think that your friends can help you, I’d start thinking twice. If they were able to help you, they’d be here already. It’s just a shame they won’t be here to witness the first death of a Power Ranger!” He put his arm over his eyes and then flung his arm aside, lasers flying from his eyes. She ducked just in time to avoid being fried, but the blast threw her face first right in front of him. She tried getting to her feet but he kicked her aside, throwing her against the wall. She looked up to see that the blast from his attack had left a gaping hole in the wall, but the monster was stood in the way, eagerly looking at it’s next meal...

Meanwhile, the Rangers fight against Goldar wasn’t going well. Despite their best efforts, they were being hit again and again. Jaden ran at Goldar, attempting to thrust his Power Lance into the monster, only for Goldar to counter with a fireball, sending him flying. Tyson and Zoe ran up to him. “Jaden! Are you OK?” asked Zoe. He nodded. “I’m fine. What’s taking Mike so long? He should be back by now!”

Goldar began to laugh, taunting them. “Isn’t it obvious? He’s obviously not found it yet. You Power Brats couldn’t find anything if you tried! It’s too late for your Yellow friend! You might as well give up now; you’re all doomed!” Jaden stood up. “I’ll never give up!” Zoe looked at her Power Bow, thinking. She had an idea. “Tyson, Jaden. What about the Power Blaster? I know we’re not all here, but we might be able to make a weaker version. We have to try!” Both of the guys nodded. “Alright. Let’s bring ‘em together!” Tyson exclaimed.

Zoe threw up her Power Bow, forming the base of the blaster.
“Power Bow!”
Jaden split his Power Lance into two and threw them at the Power Bow, connecting on each end.
“Power Lance!”
Tyson then jumped up, pulled the string of the Power Bow back and hooked his Power Sword onto it.
“Power Sword!”
He landed and Jaden and Zoe came to his side, taking aim.
“POWER BLASTER, FIRE!”

Three beams fired from the Power Blaster, hitting Goldar with full force, causing a large explosion. For a few moments the Rangers watched and waited, before hearing Goldar’s menacing laugh. “It didn’t kill him?!” said Tyson, extremely surprised. “Well, it was a weaker version...” Jaden replied. Goldar was clearly weakened from the blast, but he was still in good enough condition to continue fighting.

Jaden reached for his communicator. “Mike! Come in!” Seconds passed, and there was no response. He tried again. “Mike? If you can hear me, respond!” Still nothing. Goldar was getting ready to charge. “Maybe it’s the Energy Stone’s blocking off the signal?” wondered Jaden. Zoe shook her head. “I don’t like the sounds of this. Jaden, you should head back and try and find him. We need him, right Ty?” Tyson nodded. “She’s right. We’ll try and hold Goldar off as long as we can. Go for it bro’.” Jaden didn’t like the idea, but he knew he had no choice. “Got it.” He replied, teleporting away.

With every second that passed, Jessica was doubting her survival more and more. The Silver Knight had her cornered and now the Howling Hunter had appeared, there would be no escape. She quickly looked around and noticed some metal girders from the floor above had come down. ‘If I’m fast enough, maybe I can climb them...’ She rose to her feet.

The Silver Knight looked over at the monster. “Lunch time!” It growled and pounced towards her. She quickly jumped, kicking off of the wall which made her fly over the monsters head and grab onto the girder. She quickly climbed up it to the badly damaged floor above and climbed out of the window. Seeing the roof of another building across from her, she jumped over to it. At this point she was exhausted. She knew she wouldn’t survive another encounter. Having no alternatives, she headed into the next building.

Back on Earth, Jaden had found and entered the cave. He only had to go a little ways in to find Mike, morphed and unmoving, on the ground. “MIKE!” he yelled, running over to him. He reached for his communicator. “Alpha, I’ve found Mike unconscious in the cave! Teleport him to the Command Center!” “Teleporting now.” He heard Alpha reply. Seconds later, Mike was teleported away.

Jaden was confused. He looked around but there was no-one in sight. Cautiously, he continued forward slowly around the corner to find a wonderful sight – a dead-end cavern with bright stones of light on the walls. “This must be it.” He whispered, removing one from the wall. He moved away from the rest of the stones, put his one on the ground reached for his communicator once more. “Alpha, I’ve found one of the stones and I’ve put it where Mike was. Teleport it quickly and see if it’ll help Jess!” Alpha was quick to reply. “I’m on it! Mike’s recovered by the way, he’s just left to help the others.” Jaden was stunned, knowing full well that Mike had been unconscious moments earlier. “Are you sure he’s fine?” “I don’t know, he didn’t stop to let me check, but he seemed to be in perfect health.” Not really knowing what to think, he went back to focusing on his duties. “Right, I’ll go help them now.” He waited for Alpha to beam the stone away before teleporting himself back to the battle.

In the other dimension, Jess had exited a building and ran through some alleyways, only to find a dead end. Hearing noises behind her, she saw her pursuers once more. She backed up as they closed in on her until she had her back against the wall. There wasn’t anywhere to run now. “This has been a fun game, but it’s over now.” Said the Silver Knight. He clicked his fingers and the Howling Hunter charged, jumping at her. Moments before it hit her, she was teleported away. The Silver Knight watched on. ‘What?! Damn, the Rangers must have found a way to get her back. I can’t go back to Rita like this... I’ll send this monster to Earth. At least if he destroys something, all should be well.’ He thought, using his powers to teleport both himself and the monster away.

Back at the Command Centre, Jessica teleported it. She was stunned by what had just happened, but at the same time extremely relieved to see familiar surroundings. Seeing Alpha, she ran over and gave him a hug. “ALPHA! You did it!” “Aww shucks, I didn’t do anything really, it was all down to the others. Speaking of which...”

Before Alpha could finish, the alarm went off. Both Jessica and Alpha looked at the viewing globe to see the Howling Hunter in the city, followed by Rita making it grow to a massive size. “It’s the monster that the Silver Knight took to his dimension!” exclaimed Jessica. “Where are the others Alpha?” Alpha shook his head. “They’re busy with Goldar.” Jessica thought about what she should do carefully; ideally she should help the others, but the monster also needed taking care of...

“Hand me my Morpher Alpha.” Alpha didn’t think she should be going out fighting after what she had just been through, but he realized what had to be done, handing her Morpher and her communicator to her. “Here you go. What are you going to do?” Jessica put her communicator on as she spoke. “I’ll hold off the monster until they beat Goldar. I believed they could rescue me and they did. Now I just have to believe they’ll deal with Goldar and rescue the city.” Alpha nodded. “May the Power protect you, Jess”. She smiled at him before reaching for her morpher. “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”

She appeared on the streets of the town. “I need Sabre-Tooth Tiger Dinozord power, now!” she cried, the fast and agile Zord appearing to help her. She jumped into the cockpit.

“Time to end this!”

The monster and the Zord stared each other down. The sun had fully set by this point and the night sky was the setting for this battle. The monster howled and charged, the Sabre-Tooth Tiger Zord doing the same. They jumped at each other and grappled, landing on the floor and rolling around. Sparks flew around in Jessica’s cockpit as the Zord took damage. ‘I’m not letting you win!’ she thought.

Out on the streets, the Silver Knight looked on. He refused to get involved in this battle. Something felt wrong, almost as if someone was watching from afar. Something powerful, something dangerous. ‘What is this?’ he wondered. ‘Feels so... Familiar?’ Deciding to call it a day, he retreated back to the moon.

At the bottom of the cliffs, the battle against Goldar was drawing to a close. Having been weakened by the earlier Power Blaster fire and now having 4 Rangers to contend with, he was quickly losing ground. Tyson and Jaden rushed at Goldar, both of them swinging hard with their weapons, striking Goldar. This was followed up by Zoe firing with her Power Bow, and Mike firing with his Power Axe converted to Cannon Mode. Both shots hit Goldar perfectly, leaving him reeling. Exhausted, he decided to give up. “Mark my words Rangers, next time, you’re mine!” With that, he burst into flames and teleported away.

The others were happy for their victory, but realized they had other concerns. Jaden was the first to contact Alpha. “Alpha, did you manage to rescue Jess? Is she alright?!” Alpha replied straight away. “She’s back and for the moment she’s fine, but she’s battling a monster in her Zord in the city. She needs your help!”

Tyson chuckled. “Back two seconds and on the job already? At any rate, I’m glad she’s safe.” Mike nodded. “Right, but we need to help her again. NOW.” They all nodded. “We need Dinozord Power, now!”

The rest of the Dinozords rolled into battle; the graceful Pterodactyl flew through the skies, the Mastodon proudly marching along the ground, the Triceratops boldly rolling alongside it and the mighty Tyrannosaurus charging into battle. The Rangers jumped into their cockpits.

“Tyson here, everyone, log on!”
“Mike here, Jess, I’m coming!”
“Jaden here, we made it in time!”
“Zoe here, hang on Jess!”

The Zords arrived just in time to see the monster throw the yellow Zord off of itself, watching as it landed on it’s side. Inside the cockpit, Jessica couldn’t have been more happy to see her friends. “I knew you’d all come!” Zoe was the first to reply. “I’d never let you down!” “Me neither!” said the others in unison.

Suddenly, they heard Alpha over their communicators. “Rangers! I’ve analyzed the monster and he’s too powerful for your Zords to handle individually! They can combine to form the Dino Tank. That should be powerful enough to defeat it!” “Gotcha, thanks Alpha!” replied Tyson. “Let’s do this!” exclaimed Jaden.

The Sabre-Tooth Tiger brought it’s legs into it’s body, lowering it to the ground, whilst the Triceratops moved it’s tail so that it was on top of it’s body. The two Zords moved towards the Tyrannosaurus, which had moved it’s arms into it’s chest and lowered itself so it was moving on it’s knees, the knee joints connecting with the back of the two Zords. The Mastodon followed up with it’s head removing and it’s upper body splitting into two cannons, connecting behind the Tyrannosaurus, the head connecting with the Tyrannosaurus’ chest. Finally, the Pterodactyl landed on the Tyrannosaurus’ neck, completing the sequence. The Rangers appeared in a joint cockpit.

“Dino Tank formation complete!” cried Tyson as they all moved to the controls. “Let’s do this!” yelled Mike, firing both cannons, knocking the monster over. The Tank stopped in front of their enemy. “Dino Tank Power Blast, FIRE!” they all cried. Energy from all the Dinozords moved towards the cannons, charging into great balls of energy before firing at the monster. The blasts hit perfectly. Sparks of pure energy shot from the downed monster as it exploded. “We did it!” said Jessica.

As they teleported away and their Zords returned to their hiding places, an unknown figure watched on from a distance. ‘They got lucky this time...’ the figure thought. ‘I wonder how long that luck will last for?’ Without saying a word, he walked away into the shadows...

In Rita’s Palace, Goldar and the Silver Knight had a lot to answer for. “The plan was PERFECT! How could you let them ALL get away!?” she yelled at them as they leant backwards in fear. For once, they decided not to attempt explaining themselves, knowing it would only make matters worse. “Don’t want to talk huh? You’re both complete idiots! Get out of my sight!” They both quickly retreated to their quarters, too frightened to say a word. “I’ve got such a headache...” Rita groaned.

In the Command Center, Jessica had been telling the others about what had happened. “I’m glad your safe now.” Said Zoe, smiling. “We all are, me included.” Mike replied. Jessica smiled warmly. “I’m really happy to have friends like you guys. I don’t know what I would have done without you!” Tyson checked his watch. “Uh-oh. We’d better get going. My folks’re going to kill me for this!” The others got ready to leave too. “Yea, we all should get going.” Said Zoe. “Bye Alpha!” they all said as they reached for their communicators. “Goodbye Rangers, see you soon!”

With that, they all teleported away, except for Jaden. “Is something wrong Jaden?” asked Alpha. “It’s about Mike... What do you think happened?” Alpha shook his head. “I’m not sure Jaden. I ran a scan on Mike after the battle and found nothing wrong with him. Maybe he was just tired.” Jaden looked doubtful. “Yea, maybe... I have to go too. Cya Alpha.” Alpha nodded. “Goodbye Jaden!” he replied as the Blue Ranger teleported away. Alpha had his own doubts too ‘He wasn’t tired; something else was wrong… But what?’ he wondered...

A few days later, it was the big race. Jessica felt fit enough to compete despite what had happened and headed onto the track. Lee and Liz had arrived with the others to watch her compete. Lee spoke to Tyson in the stands. “Everything OK man? You and the others seem pretty pre-occupied lately.” Tyson realized that sooner or later people would have noticed what could be seen as erratic behavior from them; after all, they were trying to keep their identities secret. “Yea, we’ve been pretty busy. Everything is OK though. Nothing to worry about.” Lee smiled. “Cool. Lemme know if any of you need any help though.”

They turned to the track as they heard the starting pistol, cheering Jessica on as she raced. On the final straight, she was neck and neck with one of the other competitors. They were both clearly tired, but Jessica wasn’t giving up. ‘I can do this...’ she thought to herself. She pushed herself just a little harder and crossed the line split seconds before her competitor. Everyone cheered as she crossed the line. Looking up to the Rangers, she saw them all giving her a thumbs up. She smiled. ‘I did it!’ she thought.

Charge Of The Dinosaurs, Part I

It was a quiet night in Vinefield, Deep in the Command Centre, Alpha 5 had gone into standby mode, a well earned rest after all of the recent chaos, in his opinion. Suddenly, the alarm started blaring, forcing Alpha back into life. “Aiyiyi! What could possibly be wrong at this hour?” he cried, pacing towards the viewing globe.

Staring into the globe, Alpha could make out the woods near the city. He could also see the Silver Knight looking around, digging little holes in different places. Alpha was confused. “What in the world is he looking for? I’d better call the Rangers!” he said in a panicky voice, heading over to one of the consoles. “Rangers! If you can hear me, come in!” Moments passed without an answer. Being this late at night, Alpha knew that the Rangers would most likely be asleep.

A familiar voice replied. “I’m here. What’s up?”

Alpha recognised the voice immediately. “Mike!” The Silver Knight has appeared in the woods! Please come to the Command Centre immediately!”

“I’m on it.” He replied. Moments later, a black ray of light could be seen coming into the Command Centre as Mike teleported in. Alpha was quite surprised, Mike didn’t look or sound tired at all. In fact, he seemed fully awake. Alpha observed him as he walked over to the viewing globe, watching the Silver Knight at work.

“I haven’t been able to work out what he’s looking for.” Alpha began to explain, doing some work on one of the consoles while he did so. “Whatever he’s looking for must be important if he’s sneaking around at this time of night. I’ll just run a scan quickly and th-“

He was cut off by Mike before he could finish. “I get the feeling we don’t have the time to hang around. I’m going to head out now.” He said, reaching for his Morpher. “Besides, I still have to pay him back for kidnapping Jess.”

Alpha ran at him, trying to stop him. “Wait, not yet!”

“IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“MASTODON!”

And with that he was gone. Alpha sighed. If only all the Rangers were around...

Deep in the woods, the Silver Knight was continuing to dig. He could faintly feel the energy from the item he was looking for. Looking around him, the mysterious feeling brought his eyes to the base of a nearby tree. He walked over to it, kneeling down and digging a small hole with his hands. The sight of something faintly glowing in the dirt made him chuckle. “Yes... I’ve finally found it.” He whispered to himself.

Whilst he was looking at his discovery, he heard the crunching of leaves from behind him. He quickly spun around to find the cause but saw nothing but trees. Mike was behind one of them, realising he had been heard. He slowly reached for his Blade Blaster.

“Who is there?!” shouted the Silver Knight, drawing his sword. After a few moments passed without answer, he shut his eyes, activating a secondary kind of sight. Ahead of him he could see a faint aura coming from behind one of the trees. It was the same aura as a Power Ranger. ‘So, one of them found me after all? No matter. This will be quick.’ He thought.

Pointing his sword towards the ground, he forced it downwards, sticking it into the ground. It began to glow in a black light and the Silver Knight let go, beginning to float into the air. Dark orbs began to appear around him, turning into floating swords made of energy.

Behind the tree, Mike could somehow feel what was going on. He spun around and dived towards the floor just in time to avoid the energy swords flying through the tree with enough force to uproot it entirely, throwing it over Mike. Mike quickly flipped over onto his back and jumped up, converting his Blade Blaster to Sword Mode in the process.

The Silver Knight watched on in amazement. He couldn’t ever remember anyone dodging it before. The strangest thing about it was the way that the Ranger seemed to know exactly what was coming, something he’d never seen before.

Before he could think about it any more, he saw Mike starting to run towards him at full speed. He removed his sword from the ground and swung it just in time to deflect a jumping slash from the Black Ranger, who followed the attack with 2 kicks to his opponents’ left side, causing the Knight to stagger. Finishing off the combination, the Black Ranger jumped into the air, delivering a powerful kick to the Knight’s face, sending him flying to the floor.

He quickly jumped up and took an attacking stance. “You want to fight me, Black Ranger? Allow me to show you the error of your ways!” he cried, rushing at the Ranger, who in turn also ran at his enemy. Just as the Silver Knight came into attacking distance, he disappeared. In the split second that followed, Mike couldn’t work out what had happened until he felt the Silver Knight’s sword slash against his back. The Knight had used his dark magic to teleport behind him, dealing a crushing blow.

Mike hit the floor, rolled and jumped back up. Deep inside, he knew the Knight was too strong to defeat alone, but for some insane reason, he didn’t seem to care, either. Tossing his Blade Blaster aside, he summoned his other weapon. “Power Axe!” he cried, his weapon materializing in his hands. Gripping the handle with both hands, he recklessly charged at the Knight once more.

Seeing the Black Ranger coming again, the Silver Knight sighed and lazily jumped out of the way at the last second, causing Mike to hit a tree instead. The Silver Knight jumped backwards, quickly raising his right hand to his face, preparing a spell. A dark aura surrounded his hand. He threw it out at the Ranger, creating what looked like a dark fireball.

Mike noticed it coming, but knew that he didn’t have the time to evade or defend. Suddenly, just before the attack hit, a green fireball appeared, smashing into the dark one, eliminating them both just in time. Both combatants looked in the direction of the attack just in time to see a shadowy figure fleeing into the night.

The Silver Knight grunted angrily. ‘Another interference?’ he thought, looking over at the glowing object that he had dug up, lying on the ground a few feet away from him. ‘I cannot allow this to take any longer. I must take it back to Rita!’

He looked over at the Black Ranger, who had pulled his Power Axe out of the tree and was now facing his opponent once more. The Silver Knight hissed. “This has gone on long enough!” he cried, sheathing his sword.

Mike took up a defensive stance, not entirely sure what to expect next. Without warning, this time the Silver Knight charged, crossing his wrists across his chest as he ran. Just before he got to the Black Ranger, he dug his feet into the ground, skidding across the dirt as he slowed down.

Mike couldn’t see a thing and had to raise his hand up to defend himself from the dirt and rocks that were flying at him. By the time he worked out what was happening, it was too late.

The Silver Knight had come to a stop right in front of him and as soon as he stopped, he threw his arms outwards, his palms facing the Black Ranger. A shockwave emerged from his palms, the massive wave of energy exploding out in front of him sending the Black Ranger, as well as most of the trees and other forms of wildlife flying far into the distance, well out of sight.

Having exhausted most of his energy in the attack, the Silver Knight collapsed to his knees. It took him a few minutes to regain his composure before he could stand up again. He turned around, walking over to the glowing object, picking it up off of the ground. He chuckled quietly for a few seconds before teleporting away.

On the Moon, Rita had been waiting impatiently. She paced up and down the balcony over and over, waiting for the Silver Knight’s return. Moments later, he teleported into the room. She ran over to him, yelling before he could utter a word. “Well? Did you get it?”

He went to hold it out to her. “Yes I ha-” Before he could finish speaking, she grabbed it out of his hands and held it up to her face, looking at it closely.

“Yes...Yes! At last! With this, I can finally get rid of those Rangers once and for all, and even better, I’ll use their own powers to do it!” And with that, she burst into maniacal laughter like she usually did.

The Silver Knight wanted to tell her about the mysterious figure that interrupted their fight, but he decided against it, fully knowing that she would just ignore him now he had given her what she wanted...

A few hours later, the sun rose once again over the city. In his house, Tyson awoke to the sound of someone knocking on the front door extremely loudly. He yawned as he got up. Just as he was about to look out of the window to see who was there, he heard his communicator going off. He sighed and picked it up. “Tyson here, who is it?”

“Finally, you’re up! We’ve been trying to wake you up for over an hour!” He recognised the familiar voice straight away; it was Zoe.

Tyson sighed, walking over to the window. Looking outside, he could see Zoe, Jaden and Jessica down at the front door. He opened the window and called out to them. “So it’s you? Where’s the fire?” he asked jokingly. The expressions on their faces told him that this was no time to be joking however.

“Come on Ty, now’s not the time. We have to go to the...” Jaden started to say. He knew he had to be very careful with his wording just in case someone accidentally heard. He continued “Uh…The meeting place. It’s Mike, something’s happened.” He finished.

It took Tyson a few moments for him to work out just what Jaden was talking about. The look on his face when he worked it out made it almost look like someone had switched something on in his head. “What? Got it, I’ll be right there!” He went to head downstairs, but realised he was still wearing his pyjamas. He went back to the window. “Er... You guys better go on ahead. I’ll catch up when I’ve gotten changed.”

The trio sighed to themselves. “Well, don’t take all day!” Jessica yelled at him. “This is urgent!” She turned to face the others. “Lets go!” she said. The others nodded.

“Cya soon, Ty!” Zoe shouted at him as they all ran to somewhere a little more secluded so they could teleport away.

Tyson couldn’t help but sigh. “Why is it that he’s always the one getting into trouble?” he muttered to himself.

15 minutes later, Tyson teleported to the Command Centre. When he arrived, he saw what looked like some kind of medical bed in the centre of the room with what looked like a lightly injured Mike led out on it. The others, along with Alpha were standing around the outside. Tyson rushed over to them.

“Woah, what the heck happened?” he asked.

Jessica was quick to answer “Alpha was saying he went after the Silver Knight a couple of hours ago. Apparently the Knight was looking for something and Mike went to stop him, but it looks like the battle didn’t go so well.”

Tyson couldn’t help but noticing she was holding Mike’s hand, but realised that now wasn’t the time to be reading too far into it. “Damn that jerk. Alpha, do you have any idea what he was looking for?” he asked.

Alpha shook his head. “Not really. From what I could see on the Viewing Globe, it looked like some kind of book, but other than that, I really couldn’t say. The scanners did pick up something when the Silver Knight found it though; it seemed to be radiating the same kind of energy used in the Morphing Grid! Aiyiyi... If only Zordon were here, he’d know what it was!” He hung his head, clearly upset by the fact that he wasn’t being much help to them. Jaden put his arm on Alpha’s shoulder to comfort him.

Before anyone could say anything else however, the alarms started to go off once again. Zoe walked over to the Viewing Globe. “Guys, quick!” she cried. The others ran over to see a gigantic Goldar in the middle of town.

“Looks like we’ve got company.” Tyson muttered. “Rita’s goons have done enough damage for today! Let’s go!” he yelled. The others nodded.

“Wait!” cried Alpha. “Rita doesn’t normally start attacks like this, be very careful!”

“Do you think it’s a trap?” questioned Jaden.

“It’s entirely possible Rangers, but I realise you can’t leave Goldar to destroy the city, either. Good luck Rangers!” Alpha replied. The others nodded, reaching for their Morphers.

“IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”

“PTERODACTYL!”
“TRICERATOPS!”
“SABRE-TOOTH TIGER!”
“TYRANNOSAURUS!”

The Rangers appeared on the top of a building near where Goldar was causing havoc. They saw Goldar straight away. “Alright, let’s do this!” yelled Tyson.

Before they could do anything, they were surrounded by over a dozen Putties. The Rangers fell back into a defensive circle, drawing their Blade Blasters. “We’ve got company!” Zoe yelled.

Jaden nodded. “Looks like Alpha was right, this is definitely a trap of some kind!”

Tyson converted his Blade Blaster to Sword Mode, preparing to fight. “From the looks of things it doesn’t matter if this is or isn’t a trap right now. Either way, we’ve got to deal with this quickly! Let’s go!” he ordered, charging into battle. The others nodded and joined in.

Meanwhile, up on the Moon, Rita was busy watching the Putties do battle with the Rangers. “Yes! Now I have them distracted, that’s more than enough time to do my evil deed for the day!” She chuckled, opening the book that the Silver Knight had retrieved for her.

She started to mutter an ancient spell under her breath. Her staff, leaning against the balcony in front of her, was starting to react, its gem glowing brighter and brighter as she continued to chant. A few moments later, a blinding flash came from the gem. Rita was no longer chanting, the book was no longer glowing. The spell was finished.

Rita ran over to her prized telescope and looked at the battle in progress. She could clearly see the Rangers’ Power Coins glowing in a dim orange light for a second or so, although it was clear that the Rangers were unaware of what had happened. She burst out laughing before yelling at the Silver Knight. “It’s been done! Call the Putties back at once!” she commanded.

“Yes, my Queen!” he yelled, confident that the Rangers’ defeat was finally upon them.

Back on Earth, the Rangers were fighting tirelessly against a seemingly never-ending stream of Putties. Suddenly, they all disappeared. The Rangers looked around, entirely confused.

“Uh… What just happened?” questioned Tyson.

“I don’t know, but something definitely isn’t right here.” Jessica replied.

They didn’t have the time to think about it however, as they witnessed Goldar destroying another building. Tyson ran up to the edge of the building, extremely angry. He looked back at the others. “Enough is enough! Lets finish this!” he yelled. They all nodded in unison.

“We need Dinozord power, now!” they cried. As soon as they finished saying those words, something entirely unexpected happened. Bright lights emerged from the Rangers’ Power Coins, each light matching the colour of the Ranger it came from. The lights then burst out of the coins, soaring into the sky. At the same time, the Rangers were knocked backwards by the sheer force of the burst, demorphing as they hit the floor of the rooftop.

They all quickly climbed to their feet, their eyes widening in horror from what they could see in the distance. “I..Impossible...” muttered a terrified Jaden. Standing side by side with Goldar were 4 real dinosaurs, very different from their Zords. But it was definitely the same dinosaurs from their powers; a Tyrannosaurus, a Pterodactyl, a Sabre-Tooth Tiger and a Triceratops, all ready to rain destruction down on the city...
