Hey guys. I got this figure not long ago, and I freakin love it! He's kind of heavy and he talks, but I've yet to open him to see what he says. I have a question though. I really want to know if they made the rest of the dekarangers like this. I'd love to find a whole set of these somewhere, but I've only found this one and that's it.

Sorry if this seems stupid, just asking for some help. Thanks!

This is made by POPY , not Bandai right? Are these items official? I saw Dekabreak, but none of the other characters.

No not official. Popy made em.

You just contradicted yourself. If Popy made it, it's official.

Yes. Their a toy company. like Bandai. They make certain Sentai products, but despite said products not being under the Bandai name, they are official.

I beleive Popy and Bandai are partners.

Yes, they're partners. Unlike Bandai though, Popy usually makes the smaller, cheaper version sentai toys, while Bandai is usually the deluxe stuff.

But yes, Popy is official, just like Bandai.

So far I've only seen DekaRed and DekaBreak; don't think they released the others. I've got DekaBreak and if they're both similar, your DekaRed figure will probably say "Emergency, DekaRed"; the voice is definitely not Tetsu's on my figure though.

Wrong. Popy items are official.

Correction. They WERE partners. In fact, Popy actually started the Sentai toylines. There was no Bandai until the late 80's, 1988 to be exact. My Google V brace has no Bandai logo, at all. My DynaBrace however, does. The reason for this is the split, which occurred in 1988. Popy and Bandai have been their own separate companies ever since. Both are official.

ok so they're like. . .rival companies now?

Not really rivals because we would be seeing some competition between the two. Popy is more of a second choice than anything. Their items are a lot cheaper in price, but the majority aren't as "nice" as Bandai's.

oooh so they're like. . . one step from being bootleg while still being official?

LOL No, they're fairly good quality. It's just that the toys they release are cheaper, and don't have as much features as a deluxe version. They specialize in "simplified" versions.

Like a simplified Jetman cross changer. All electronics are stripped down, and it's smaller. There quality of toys is far from being near bootleg.

from what everyone else is saying, it seems that Popy had the license to make these figures as well. So it was totally legal. correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if I worded this wrong. lol

Yeah, popy has the license to make them as well as Bandai. Popy isn't as high quality though. As I said, they're like the cheaper alternative.

ok, ok i think i got it. . . So POPY is the awesome simple version of bandai - Bandai is the kick ass toy company and BoA is the copy cat that gets things right 1/16 seasons. . .does that sound about right?

I understand, it is a similar situation to one that had here in Brazil many years ago with items of several Japanese series.

Yes, Yutaka is another company that has the license as well. Their items are similar to Popy's, but not seen as much.

:005:

If you want to split Bandai up by countries, then you got it. Bandai is Bandai though, as far as the general aspect goes.
