I found out from a source that a local Gamestop is going to be getting some Wiis in tomorrow and I was able to save up enough to get one but the problem is thats all I have enough for. So I just want to know if I go to the Gamestop will they allow for only the system purchase or will I have to get a game with it? I looked on the site and all they have online are the bundles that come out next year.

You don't have to buy a game with it in-store. I know places do it online, but I highly doubt in-stores actually do that.

I don't believe they'll make you buy a game, but good luck in getting one before the psychotic moms of the world grab them all on you.

Be there first.....?
Thats the secret to being first in line. And someone had to tell you that?

I know this isn't GameStop, but I had to get a game with a Wii when I went to get it. It was a bundle deal from TRU back in March. I didn't really want the game, but it's a good thing I was able to take it back to another TRU for a refund though. Also, the price I had to pay did suit the bundle.

Game stop (The company) does not force the purchase of a bundle.
They'll TRY to sell you something extra (Probably Wii Play for the extra controller) but if you want the system that's all you have to buy.
Good luck getting it though.

Yeah, if want a Wii, I would suggest camping out to be the first in line.
Or, you could just call TRU on a Sunday morning right when they open and ask if they have any Wiis in.
I got the last one that day.

If you want to be there first, you should probably already be there :023:

Agreed with what a lot of people said...if you want it, and they were spreading the word they were getting some in, you had better be waiting outside the store at least a couple hours before they open, possibly more. But it depends where you live too I guess.

Vash is right. If i didnt get my wii like i did in september i would have ben screwed. But it has its disadvantages like friends wanting to come over to play video games all of a sudden. :(
If anyone cant find one i suggest going to a military base store, the BX is what they call it here. They had two the other day just sitting there. But remember you have to have a military ID

which is y u haev someone u know or a relative that has gone to the army to get in LOL.but the disadvantages of getting a wii now are very very hard.i remember just in sept and oct the Nintendo World Store always had wii's in stock and kinda over filled the place with them but they sold fast but not as fast as now and the TRU in times sqaure like the register section was filled with like over 1,000 wiis and now they all gone.what was funny is that i spotted a few wiis on black friday at gamestop which is very very shocking to see.i heard from a site that i believe it was gamestop that would let customers get a raincheck for a wii.but good luck finding a wii now its like hard to get one in stock for an hour lol

I got mine opening day. I preordered it when no one gave a rats ass because of the PS3 hype.
Though, I did stand in line for 13 hours (8 in the cold, 5 in the mall) for a friend because he wanted one. One month later, the fucker gave up playing video games because he was going to be a father and thought it was time to let immature things go (the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard, but meh) - the Wii is sitting in a storage bin as he refuses to sell it. Thinking of the grandmother that was behind me in line that waited and didn't get one, I want to rip his throat out... but I digress.
Best of luck getting one!

Actually I was thinking about it after I posted it and decided to wait till they come down in price. I have plent of games for my PS2 and Gamecube and GBA I still need to beat. And plus all I have the money for is the system, unless I want to pray I last another week till pay day.
If a Mod can close this thread when they get a chance.

Got my Wii and PS3 last year (after waiting in the long pre-order line).
Last week, my company just gave all of their employees a free 40GB PS3 and RockBand. I'll probably be selling that on ebay or something.

I personally REALLY want a Wii . I already have a X box 360 and tottally love it.
Plus at first I didnt have any desire for the Wii due to the control and lack of "Hard Core" gamer games. However recent releases and things have caught my eye.
I was hoping my family would get my one for Christmas . But it's not likely.
I agree you will have a long wait. I suspect it will be at least next year.
I believe all trus will have them on sunday the 23rd, i used to work at one and all the trus in the western ny district shared the same "ads" and theyre going to be advertised on sundays paper. I think trus in the country share the same ad/release dates for items but i could be mistaken outside of our district.

Which reminds me. Two weeks ago, I waited outside of a Best Buy in my car for it to open, and there were people lined up outside in front of it. When it opened, it turned out they were all there to get Wiis. Apparently they were promised that they'd have them available for them to buy. However, they didn't get their shipment in time. So they were all pissed.
