“Times are Changing, I”
In a dim and dark basement, pitch black to where you cannot see, sits soundless and motionless, a cold human being. In his frigid cell where life is torture, he tries not to think of anything, but when you are locked up and isolated from all things, everything goes through your mind. Your whole life passes by over and over, each time creating new thoughts and comments.
His head hanging down, arms and legs chained up, nothing seems like it can go right. But after nearly defeating the past and destroying the future, he knows the worst is all he deserves.
When he was almost half asleep, the doors opened, and the lights turned on. Four Time Force Officers and four Time Force Rangers stepped out of the blinding white rays. His head rose slowly, not caring for the life of the outdoors.
Lucas Kendall, the Blue Time Force Power Ranger, is all about his appearance. He always has a mirror at hand to make sure his hair is perfect. Lucas also loves racecar driving; in fact, he is a professional racecar driver, or at least used to be before joining Time Force.
Katie Walker, also know as Time Force Yellow, is a young woman who cares for he family more than anything in the world. Without them, she would be nothing. She also loves to sing. She dreams of becoming a broad way musical star, but instead went the other way in joining Time Force.
Trip Regis, the Green Ranger, is a Xybrian from another planet. He lives on Earth because this is where most of his family now lives. Even though aliens have been welcome on Earth for years now, Trip still was isolated in school and did not have many friends. He just could not fit in anywhere. After graduating and going to college, Trip enrolled in Time Force; there he met his best friend in the entire world, Circuit.
Jen Scott, the Pink Time Ranger, is a pretty rough girl. She always dreamed of joining Time Force ever since she was a young girl; she joined as soon as possible. Being engaged to one of Time Force’s greatest officers influenced her in her to be the best she could be. Jen does have a softer side, which was opened up to after returning from the year 2001. Things changed after she went to that year, she is no more engaged.
“Hey!” Katie cheerfully exclaimed trying to bring life back into the dead body as she came in contact with the cell. “How you doing?”
“We just thought we’d stop by and say hello,” Trip explained their visits purpose.
“I’m…” a voice came from the prisoner in a very rusty tone. “Fine.”
“Tomorrow is the final decision,” Lucas smoothly leaned on the cell wall. “And it looks like the sun will shine once again.”
The captive human just sank back into his motionless position and muttered, “Yes, just like it was supposed to yesterday and the day before and before that.”
“No, tomorrow everything is settled for good,” Jen, with a serious yet friendly look, said into the eyes of the being. “You will be free, I promise.”
“She means it!” Circuit popped his head out of Trip’s backpack. “No worries!”
“Quiet, Circuit,” Trip stuffed him back in. “You know you’re not supposed to be in here!”
Circuit was a highly mechanical bird that knew everything about Time Force. He was programmed with the information. He became best friends with Trip when Trip entered Time Force. Circuit helped him through everything. Circuit tries to stay with the Rangers whenever he can, but he is used all the time in Time Force, so he is always very busy.
The creaky voice mumbled, “Thank you.”
The four Time Force Rangers closed the doors to the basement taking all of the light with them. Now Ransik was once again all-alone in the black air; the ice-cold cell began to freeze over again as the light’s heat vanished.
“Poor guy,” Katie shook her head as she tried to get the nightmares of the basement out of her head.
“I hope your right Jen,” Trip quietly said. “I hope you can set him free.”
“Don’t worry guys, I’ll get him out,” Jen assured her friends as she stopped in shock.
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” someone said surprising all four of the Rangers.
“What are you doing here…Alex,” Jen angrily gritted her teeth to keep from exploding with anger.
Alex Drake, once the fiancé of Jen and the Red Ranger, is dedicated to completing his mission at all costs. Joining Time Force is all he wanted during his teen years. He wanted to help people from all harm. Now he saves lives for the rewards he receives.
This trait is what destroyed his relationship with the Pink Ranger. He was not always stuck up, but after being injured by Ransik he changed in many ways.
“I came here to talk to you…in private,” Alex motioned for the others to leave.
“Go guys, I’ll catch up in a second,” Jen told the three everything was all right. So Lucas, Trip, and Katie all walked farther down along the sidewalk towards their hover-car. “Now, what do you want from me?”
“Do you understand what you’re doing? He nearly killed hundreds of people, including me and you.”
“And he also saved the world from those Mutorgs,” Jen’s eyes were on fire. Ever since saving the year 2001, Alex has changed, and so has she. Alex has changed into a strict jerk as Jen opened up to a softer side. “You weren’t there Alex! You’ll never understand! He is not a mutant anymore; his hatred for humans is gone!”
“He may still have a little revenge left inside him, Jen. What if he is acting like your friend so that when you let him out he can attack you.”
“He’s not; he has changed. I have visited him in that cell many times, and I know that all he wants is to be free to see the world and his daughter.”
“I don’t trust him, and I will do everything I have to keep him locked up. Just because he helped defeat a few Mutants that he created, does not mean that every other crime that he committed should be dropped!”
“You may be right, but I say to give him a chance because I know that he does not need to waste his time in prison when he could be out in the world living his life. He was neglected by everyone, and finally he can live his life being accepted, but you won’t let him, Alex!”
“Tell it to the judges,” Alex finished their argument as he walked passed Jen.
In the year 3000, the judges are the jury, and they run the entire trial as well as decide on the verdict.
Jen caught up with her fellow Rangers and started to explain what had happened. “Alex still hates Ransik with al his soul, and he believes that just because he helped us once doesn’t mean that he should be free of his other crimes.”
“I guess this won’t be an easy case?” Trip started to worry about their client and new friend.
“It never was,” Jen assured that they were going to have to try their hardest to free Ransik.
The prisoner of Time Force rested in his cell as the doors busted open, and Alex ran up to him.
“No matter what the judge says tomorrow you will not escape what you deserve – life in prison!” Alex was furious. “You better hope the judge decides to keep you locked up, or else I will be forced to…to…”
“Take me out yourself? I would like to see you try, honestly. It would almost be a challenge for me!” Ransik wasn’t scared at all as Alex was staring right at him. When I get out, watch yourself.” Then Alex finally stormed off.

In a small town called Silver Hills, trouble takes place at a local bank early in the morning. The Silver Guardians, protectors of the city, are on the way roaring down the road. The two leaders, Wes and Eric, are preparing to start their plan. As they pull up and reach a stop, they step onto the pavement.
Wesley Collins, Time Force’s Red Power Ranger living in the year 2001, is a very good man. He always does what is right even if it means sacrificing himself. When Ransik attacked, Wes would have fought to his death, but luckily his friends came to help him overcome the evil villain. Wes felt that in joining the Silver Guardians, he could redirect their goal and save many lives.
Eric Myers, the Quantum Ranger, does what he must to survive. Growing up in an orphanage after the kidnapping of his parents, he learned to make it on his own. After dropping out of school, he roamed the streets for several years. Finally, he saw what looked like his destiny; he joined the Silver Guardians and soon became their leader. After Ransik’ attack, Eric learned that it is aright to receive a hand. Now he helps the Silver Guardians rescue lives in danger.
“Eric, you take the back way,” Wes commanded calmly. “I’ll take the front slowly for you to get your team into place.”
“Sounds good; let’s move out!” Eric replied to his orders as he led his squad into position.
Wes prepared his troops, making sure they had ammo and their gear ready. “You ready?” he contacted his friend using his Chrono Morpher.
“You got it,” Eric replied as his hologram appeared from Wes’s morpher.
Then Wes took the lead as he moved his team in. When he reached the door, he stopped and told his team to halt. “Back me up from here.” Next he ran into the bank alone. “Freeze, you are under arrest!”
The thief was not necessarily surprised as he was prepared with a hostage. “Back off or I’ll shoot!”
“Alright, take it easy,” Wes was not ready for this. He had no idea the criminal had secretly kept a hostage after letting everyone else out. “What do you want?”
“For your crew to retreat from the area, now!” the robber became demanding as he shoved the gun into the girl’s neck; she was very frightened for her life was in the hands of one man as of now.
“You got it,” Wes radioed in using his walky-talky. “Silver Guardians move out; we have to give him what he wants.”
“Wes, what about me?” Eric came up on Wes’s morpher.
“You too, Eric, we can’t risk it,” Wes knew what he had to do to save the girl’s life.
“Are you sure about this? You’ll be all alone; no one will be here to save you if things start to shake up,” Eric was worried about his comrade.
“Hey, let’s go! I don’t have all day! Get them out of here and don’t try to pull anything smart on me because you’ll regret it!” the criminal was starting to lose his patience.
“I’ll be alright, go, Eric. That’s an order,” Wes started to feel unsure about his order.
At the back of the bank, Eric’s troops were still awaiting their direct orders.
“Did you hear the man? Let’s go, move out!” Eric demanded his squad into SUVs. “Wes, you’ve got no idea what you’re doing.”
Then a voice came over Eric’s walky-talky, “Why are you retreating?”
“Don’t worry, your son knows what he’s doing,” Eric replied to his commander. “I think.”
Every man jumped into a Silver Guardian SUV, and the engines were fired up.
“Good, good; now hand over your weapons!” the robber saw the Silver Guardians leave from a window.
Wes did so although he did not take off his morpher for the robber had no idea it was his most valuable part of his arsenal. “Now what?”
“Get out!”
“The girl?” that was Wes’s main target, to get her to safety.
“I’ll let her go as long as you are out of here!” the robber began to look for any more troops around the corner.
Wes did as he was told; he opened the doors and went outside. The robber was cold-hearted and kept the girl as he ran out the back door. Wes ran back in expecting this to happen, but he knows his buddy all to well.

In the darkness, sits that lonely soul. Today could be the day he sees his freedom, but he has lost all hope. For many months these trails have been going on about the battle with the mutorgs in the year 2002, and how Ransik saved them all. The Time Force Rangers feel he had made up for his wrongdoing, and he doesn’t deserve his sentence any longer. Jen, the leader of this all, feels that Ransik is a changed person.
The doors of the basement open bringing light in, blinding the prisoner. Though he knows exactly who it is. It is the Time Force Power Rangers coming to escort him to the courtroom.
Unlocking the cell door, Jen assures Ransik, “I’ve got everything under control, don’t worry.”
Ransik uncaringly replies, “I don’t mind; I deserve this. Even if I did help destroy those Mutorgs, I still nearly destroyed you all. Nothing can make up for that.”
“We can forgive and move on as long as we know that you’ve changed,” Trip tries to reason with the hopeless human. “Which you have.”
“Yea, we all make mistakes,” Lucas explains to the once heartless man. “You have to learn how to forgive.”
They all walk silently out of the basement towards the courtroom. Ransik starts to think about his freedom and being able to see his daughter, Nadira, once again. Where will he go? How will he survive alone in the world? Will everyone forgive him, or will they exclude him just like in the past?
Also, Ransik thought about the fact that he may not be set free. Then it would be back to the horrible and cruel basement for who knows how many years. Just because he helped out once means everything is back to normal just like that? Now he starts to lose trust in Jen’s words. He does not believe anything any more; he does not know what to believe.
As the five come closer to the courtroom Ransik starts to become very unstable. He knows he has changed, but he also knows that everyone else does not understand. Plus, there are many things against him that he did in the past. He has done one good deed and many terrible ones. They do not seem to cancel each other out. He suddenly stops walking.
“I cannot win,” he mumbles to himself.
“Ransik, there is always a chance,” Jen tries to talk sense into the prisoner. “I won’t let them lock you up again.”
“There may be a chance, but it is not near enough. Thank you for trying,” Ransik was still a little dazed in his own cruel thoughts.
“You’ll never know until we go into that courtroom and prove you’ve changed,” Katie tries to help her friend convince the lifeless being.
“You sacrificed yourself to save us all,” Trip started to say. “That’s more than enough!”
“Why give up?” Lucas confusingly thought. “You have a chance, so why not take that chance?”
“Everyone sees me as a deadly mutant, not a human being. There’s no way to change their own feelings unless they give me a chance to show them, which is not going to happen.”
“You have to think positive and start thinking of how we can help you get out instead of moping around,” Katie sincerely suggested the criminal.
“Well, we can go in there and tell them what we have to say. About me getting a chance to prove that I am no longer an evil mutant, but a human being like everyone else. That’s about all we can do,” Ransik now knew that there was no other way for him to have freedom except to go into that courtroom; otherwise he may as well just go back to his shadowy cell forever.
“So, you ready for this?” Lucas questioned Ransik one last time.
“Let’s go in there and prove everyone wrong!” Trip tried to boost Ransik’s spirit.
“Ransik, I know how awful that cell is and how you do not deserve to be in there your entire life,” Jen was still trying to convince him. “And I will do everything I can to keep you out of there. You may not be free, but you certainly won’t be locked up for the rest of your life.”
“That’s better than nothing I suppose,” Ransik smiled back at the Time Force Rangers. “Alright, let’s go,” Ransik was finally convinced to go into that room for the little chance he may get out.

The robber ran through the bank towards the back shoving the gun into the girl’s back. Wes was hot on his trail as he sprinted as fast as he could toward the back of the bank while picking back up his weapons on the way, but the robber had a huge head start. Passing through the bank’s doors, the thief sees no Silver Guardians surprisingly within sight as he creeps around searching his surroundings. Still shoving the gun into the young girl’s back creating immense pain, he takes one step at a time very slowly. Thinking he can now run, he almost makes it passed the corner of the bank until he meets Eric’s Quantum Defender pointed right as his face.
“Game over!” Eric screamed at the criminal.
“I’ll shoot!” the robber threatened still hanging on tight to his hostage. “I will!”
Wes sprinted out the back of the bank and stopped on a dime. “Eric, no!” Wes made Eric look away for a millisecond, and the robber took advantage by sweeping away the Quantum Defender and kicking Eric to the ground.
Next, the robber decided to distract Wes by firing at him. He misses by far and sets off explosions behind Wes.
“Time for Time Force!” Wes activated his Ranger powers and morphed into the Red Ranger. “That’s enough! Ey-yah!”
The Red Ranger charged forward and double –front-kicked at the robber, but it was dodged as the robber stepped to the side. The Red Ranger followed up with a back fist; the robber grabbed his arm twisting it and throwing him over his shoulder hard to the ground.
“Forget about me?” Eric stood back up ready to fight as the robber looked up and shot bullets right at him. “Quantum Power!” Eric morphed into the Quantum Ranger using his Quantum Morpher.
The bullets flew right toward his visor. “Quantum Defender, Blade Mode!” the Quantum Ranger pulled out his blaster and transformed it into a sword. “Hey-yah, yah, ay-yah!” the bullets were deflected by the blade.
This was the Red Ranger’s chance to recover, so he kicked over his head right into the robber’s nose; the girl was finally free and she ran away as fast a lightning. Then the Red Ranger flew off the ground by pushing off his shoulders.
Jumping into the air, he called, “Chrono Blaster, fire!” Lasers shot at the robber, but landed right in front of him forcing him back into the bank wall. Badly hurt, the thief fired all around the two Time Force Power Rangers creating sparks and smoke. They rolled through to find the robber had disappeared.
“Where did her go?” the Time Force Red Ranger searched his surroundings.
“I can’t see him, we’ve lost him!” the Quantum Ranger became angry with himself as he pounded one fist into his other hand.
“Don’t give up yet,” Time Force Red told his teammate. “He couldn’t have gone far.”
The two Rangers decided to look around the bank’s corner for more area to cover. All they saw was an empty ally leading to a dead end. Otherwise there was not anywhere else he could have gone to besides passed the restaurant and down the street that leads to an open lot connecting to the jewelry store.
Now running passed the restaurant, the two Power Rangers came to a halt.
“I found him heading for the jewelry store!” the Quantum Ranger quickly spotted their target.
“Silver Guardians, the violator is heading for the jewelry store; we’re going in!” the Red Ranger told his squad to come immediately.
Luckily the Silver Guardians cleared the civilians to safety before this tragedy started, so the two Rangers ran over knowing they must stop this madness at all costs. It was now out of control.

Everyone was waiting for Ransik and his defendants to enter the courtroom. The jury was not present for they had other business to attend at Time Force Headquarters, but when the trail was to begin, they would be there as a hologram.
Alex, who is against Ransik one hundred percent, was sitting in his seat waiting for the trial to start. Being badly injured by Ransik, he feels he should never be free. If it weren’t for the brand new technology of the future, Alex would be six feet under no doubt. He brought Ransik in once, and he was supposed to be in cryogenic prison for life; he escaped and almost destroyed the past and present. Alex does not understand at all why Ransik should be free even if he gave his part in defeating the Mutorgs.
Finally, Ransik and his defendants enter the courtroom surrounded by Time Force Officers. Chained up with handcuffs as strong as steel, he walks down the isle to his seat. He is still unsure of what the outcome should be. Did he deserve freedom?
Jen came in not paying any attention to Alex. After being severely injured by Ransik, Alex changed totally. Instead of being caring and smooth, Alex changed into a strict jerk that cared for only his mission’s completion. Jen then took her seat.
When the three judges of this case started to appear, everyone stood up showing respect. Then after they all appeared clearly, they were all seated.
“We are here to decide on the freedom of Ransik,” Judge Thurman, the head judge of the case, started to say. “In 2996, every mutant of his gang was captured, and he went into hiding. In the year 2999, Ransik made his appearance by setting bombs all around the city to go off at the New Year. Thanks to Time Force, the bombs were destroyed before they could do any harm; unfortunately, he escaped.”
“Shortly after, he managed to put together a small gang of mutants to help him take over the past,” Judge Andrews, another judge of the case, explained more of Ransik’s past crimes. “In the year 3000, Ransik escaped into the past after nearly killing Alex Drake, our number one Time Force Officer.”
Those words made Alex feel proud, only wishing his was still the Red Ranger for he would then be closer to Jen. If only he wasn’t injured, he would have saved the past instead of Wes, who totally changed the future for not only him, but also everyone else.
That sentence did not make Jen smile, she sneered at that remark. Jen sees Wes as the best, not Alex. Maybe Wes is not necessarily Time Force, but he still is their Red Ranger. Wes fought for the future, for Time Force. He risked everything, his life, his soul, and his own future, to save everyone. And for that, he did not receive one reward.
“In the year 2001, he used stolen mutants from our cryogenic prison to attack for him. These stolen mutants were used as slaves; they were threatened in order to do as told,” the last judge, Judge Paterson, finished the story. “In the past, he caused huge amounts of damage, disturbing the peace and risking many innocent lives.”
Ransik stood all chained up from head to toe listening to his dreadful past. He was ashamed for all of this, but he was filled with so much hatred for so many years. He was neglected by everyone human being, except Dr. Ronald Fericks.
Ransik could not control his hatred as it took over him, and he was embarrassed at this, but what was he supposed to do? After being isolated for so long, he decided to make a stand. All he wanted was to be accepted, but instead he was attacked. He hung his head down as the judge spoke again.
Then Judge Paterson announced, “After all of these actions, he deserves life in cryogenic prison!”
Everyone cheered thinking this was the final decision, but Judge Andrews had another part of the Ransik’s history to tell. Jen almost exploded before he spoke.
“Although only months ago, the Time Force Rangers recruited him to help defeat the Mutorgs. Ransik is known for creating these monsters, but also defeating them,” Judge Andrews declared. “He destroyed their mutant halves allowing the Time Force Rangers to defeat them. With his help, the future was saved.”
Ransik did not feel that helping the Rangers was good enough, and he thought the judges felt the same way. The judges were whispering to each other for a long time. This made Ransik nervous; everyone else sat in his or her seats chatting very quietly.
Jen was still. She did not move for a while; she was thinking about what she could do to help Ransik win over these judges’ hearts. Jen finally looked at Ransik, who was hanging his head down.
The judges stopped and looked forward at the audience, and Judge Thurman declared, “Do the defendants have anything to say?”
“Yes, your Honor, I have something to say,” Jen stood up quickly as Judge Thurman gave her permission to proceed. “Ransik was once a very horrible mutant, the worst there ever was.”
Lucas, Trip, Katie, Nadira, and Ransik all looked over at Jen very confused. Ransik had no idea where she was going.
“He hated every human being that lived, but only because they neglected him for so many years; throwing him straight onto the streets without any food. He had to steal and mistreat to survive; it’s not his fault. We filled him with hatred by ourselves, and now I say we show him some love for a change. I am one hundred percent sure that Ransik is no longer a hateful mutant, but a caring human being,” Jen poured her heart out to the judges.
The judges just sat listening very carefully to what Jen was saying. Alex looked disgusted as he looked at the judges’ reactions, which were as emotional as rock. Ransik had no idea whether Jen was reaching the judges’ feelings about Ransik.
“If you just give him a chance to live like a normal person, I know he would not make you regret his freedom,” Jen was out of words even though she had so much more to say. “We must forgive our own mistakes and try to make up for them. We are the ones that did this to him!” Jen cried out to everyone.
Everyone was silent and dead. In a way Jen was right. They are the ones responsible for his hatred. Maybe not his actions, but the hatred that drove him was their fault. The three judges looked shocked; the Rangers were unsure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

The Red and Quantum Rangers leaped into the jewelry store parking lot. Then they gave each other a quick nod to show that both of them were prepared to take this thief down. Quietly they rushed in ready to fire. The criminal was nowhere in sight, although the Quantum Ranger used his heat scanners to find him hiding behind one of the counters. Signaling his fellow Ranger where he was, they began to creep up on him, but the robber jumped over the counter and the two Rangers! Still having his own gun, the thief fired at the Rangers. The Red Ranger performed “the matrix” as the Quantum Ranger dropped on his back firing up at a chandelier. It would have crushed the robber if he did not dive out of the way. Now face down on the ground and his weapon out of hand, the robber was defenseless.
“You’re finished!” the Red Ranger commented as he threw the Quantum Ranger handcuffs.
“Power down!” they de-activated there powers returning to their civilian forms.
The robber saw this as his only chance to recover, so he rolled over on his side and grabbed the gun. After getting on to his feet, he pointed the gun at the two Silver Guardians, but Wes was too quick as he kicked the gun out of his hands and came back with another roundhouse to the face of the criminal. He spun to the ground, but was fast to his knees. Eric rushed in with a right kick although the robber rolled under it. Wes tried to sweep the villain, but he performed a backhand spring right over it, but he landed right into Eric’s arms. Next, Eric threw him into the air, and Wes double-kicked him in the stomach. The robber flew through the window of the jewelry store and into the parking lot where the Silver Guardians ran up with weapons loaded. The robber finally gave up after a good fight.
The two Silver Guardians actually had a tough challenge for a change. After a few months of the easy robberies and other crimes, they were a little rusty and unprepared.
“Good work, Eric,” Wes congratulated his teammate.
“You too; I was almost ready to blast him, ha, ha,” Eric seriously yet humorously replied as he entered the SUV.
“Ha, he was a little crazy,” Wes jumped into the driver’s seat and started the engine of the SUV. “Just like old times, huh?”
“Almost, Wes, not quite though,” Eric replied to his good friend. Eric was not used to having a teammate to help him through life. He grew up alone doing whatever it took to survive. Eric was a very stubborn man for a large portion of his life, but after his time was saved, he totally changed into a good guy; extending his hand to others as well as taking help, too.
Wes started to think of the days with his old team, the Time Force Power Rangers. Lucas, the smooth and cool guy, was always looking at himself in a mirror. Katie, the gentle, yet strong girl, gave the greatest hugs. Trip, the Xybrian, was the kindest guy that ever lived. Jen, gentle and dedicated, was the most amazing of them all.
Jen hated Wes for a while; the first time she met him she could not believe her eyes. It was Alex, but also so far from being Alex. She grew to like Wes after a few days; sooner or later she learned to love him. It is too bad they are centuries apart, or else they would have gotten to be together. With Wes being from the year 2001, and Jen from 3000, it really can never work. They both understood, but they love each other and that pretty much explains it.
The two drove away from the scene to visit Mr. Joseph Collins, Wes’s father. He is the owner and operator of the Silver Guardians. He loves his son with all his heart, and once sacrificed himself for Wes. The only thing he wants is for Wes to be happy and healthy.
In Mr. Collins humongous mansion, Wes had everything he could ever need, except for one thing, friends. Even though Wes has chosen not to follow in his father’s footsteps, Joseph is still proud of Wes for deciding his own future; he respects that. Now with the Silver Guardians, he can once again be close to his son. The Silver Guardians were just a trap to bring Wes back into the family at first, but things have changed; Mr. Collins really wants to help the city and feels he is making a difference.

“Your Honor, I would like to say a few words,” Alex stood up to end the silence in the courtroom. Judge Thurman simply nodded to show he had permission for he was still speechless. “Ransik nearly killed me before; I know how angry he can get. He still has emotions that can get out of control. I do not want him to have the chance to hurt anyone else,” Alex was not competing with Jen’s words. “He is a criminal just like any other; why should he be set free for helping us out one time when he attacked us many times, too? It does not make any sense to me? So he has changed into a normal human being. Humans commit crimes, too.”
“What is your point, Mr. Drake?” Judge Thurman asked for him to get to the point.
“Just because he has changed into a regular person does not mean he won’t commit a crime or a murder. Everyone makes mistakes, and they must pay the price,” Alex got down to his point.
“You’re absolutely right, Mr. Drake. Although like Ms. Scott said, ‘we must forgive.’” Judge Andrews stated his thoughts on the case.
“Yes, forgiveness is a virtue, but if somebody stole your wallet, your Honor, would you just forgive them for committing a crime they choose to commit?” Alex questioned Judge Andrews’s statement.
“If he was forced to nothing else besides that to survive, then yes, I would forgive him,” Jen stood up defending Ransik. I would especially forgive them if they apologized.”
“Ms. Scott…” Judge Paterson tried to speak.
“Your Honor, please,” Jen begged for permission to talk. She knew she was right and knew she could explain it now. If she could only get in a few more words, she could set Ransik free.
The judges looked at each other, and then Judge Thurman said, “Go ahead, Ms. Scott.”
“Ransik had to get our attention, but instead we isolated him. He had to start to fight for his survival. Instead of understanding that he needed help, we fought back at him and tried to put him away,” Jen spoke using her heart and soul. Then she turned to Ransik and cried, “I am sorry I neglected you when you needed me the most. I’m sorry I tried to arrest you, instead of saving you. I’m sorry for hating you just because of what I heard and saw. I am truly sorry.”
“Thank you, but I am the one that should say I am sorry,” Ransik replied with a smile on his face for a change. “I should not have attacked you, or anyone. Instead I should have showed you love and kindness. Then maybe you would have helped me. I am truly sorry.”
The audience started clapping for they had forgiven Ransik for his evil-doings. Next, they all rose to their feet to express their feeling. Jen had won the hearts of every soul in that courtroom; every soul except one, the soul of Alex Drake. Jen was completely right about Ransik and the world’s actions.
“He should still have to pay for what he did!” Alex grew angry that Jen was coming through to the room.
“Quiet, Mr. Drake!” Judge Paterson screamed for order as Alex sat down in his seat with a frown across his face.
“Now, this case will take a short recess and will continue in five minutes,” Judge Thurman explained as they disappeared from their seats.
“Wow, Jen,” Trip started to tell his friend, “you were amazing!”
“I don’t know how you did it, but I think you have set Ransik free,” Katie congratulated her good friend.
“Yes, great job, Jen,” Alex walked up. “You have successfully set free a dangerous mutant that could destroy us all.”
“You could destroy us all, too, but were letting you be free,” Jen sneered back at the smart laic. “I’m doing the right thing, Alex.”
“No, you think you are! Alex yelled back in her face.
“You have the same problem as he did; you have been filled with hatred for Ransik. Now it is influencing your every move!” Jen shouted right back. “You must learn to forgive, Alex! He said he was sorry, and he means it!”
“Like you would know if he’s lying or not!”
“Everyone knows it, it’s not just me, Alex. Face it.”
“You don’t know that yet. They could decide that I’m right; he is a killing criminal who deserves to be frozen forever!”
“What’s your problem, Alex?” Lucas stepped in to stop the argument. “Why do you have to come over here and start stuff all the time? Huh?”
“None of you know what is happening here, do you?” Alex was falling apart bit by bit. He knew Jen had won the trail, but he did not want to believe it. “Jen, what has happened to you?” Then Alex stared to march back to his seat in the audience.
“Me? What has happened to you?” Jen was furious at the comment. “You used to care for everyone in the world. Now you only care about your job.”
“No, you are wrong,” Alex began as he calmed down. “I do care for everyone, that is why I cannot let Ransik be free! You are the one who changed, Jen.”
“Maybe I have, but I know I am a better person now. And all thanks to one person,” Jen realized.
“Who?” Alex was not sure what she was talking about.
“Wes,” Jen said proudly. “He taught me how to believe and trust in myself and others. You must have an open heart and mind to anything. Try and be everyone’s hero and at the same time be your own.”
“He is a fool!” Alex screamed in insane anger. “He changed everything!” Then Alex went back to his seat.
“Alex…” Jen was worried and scared.
The other Rangers took their seats in the front of the audience since they were the cause of this entire case; they were the ones defending Ransik’s freedom. If it were not for the four of them, Ransik would be in the cryogenic prison for life.
The three judges started to appear once again as holograms. This case was at its end, and the outcome was not what everyone expected.
“The jury has reached a verdict,” Judge Thurman declared as everyone became silent and still. This was the moment of truth that could change the future, as we know it.
Ransik was holding his breathe. It was either freedom or cryogenic prison for life. Jen had done a fantastic job, but you never know what they will say. Would he ever see Nadira ever again? Even worse, would he ever see the outdoors ever again? These two seconds seemed like an entire day to Ransik.
Jen’s eyebrows were slanted downward. She would be devastated to hear she had failed her friend. The others were holding each other’s hands; Trip couldn’t breathe for Katie was crushing his hand.
Alex was waiting to hear the words “Ransik is to be free!” He knew they were coming. Jen had definitely proven her point, but Alex did not care. He still had hatred for Ransik, and now it was growing and growing; it was taking over. Alex did not care whether Ransik was free or not, he felt he should not even live. He looked over at Jen and remembered proposing to her. Then he saw her giving the ring back to him.
“I hate you, Jen,” Alex thought to himself. Then he looked at the other Time Force Rangers. He grew to hate them, also. “I hate you all!” he screamed inside his head.
Judge Thurman continued, “Ransik is not to be free,” everyone gasped at the decision was a definite surprise and tragedy. Jen’s heart felt like it exploded inside of her chest; she had failed. “But he shall not be sent to cryogenic prison.” The entire audience was now deeply confused. What else could be done? “Ransik will be put on probation for one year; he must stay inside Time Force’s perimeter at all times,” Jen’s frown turned into a gigantic smile. “This case is closed,” Judge Thurman disappeared as the other two judges followed.
Captain Logan and two Time Force officers walked up to escort Ransik to take care of his tracker and rules. The Time Force Rangers ran up to Ransik.
“We did it,” Jen told her friend with a bright smile.
“All thanks to you,” Ransik replied with a smile, too, “and the three of you. I will meet you all in the main lobby when I can.”
“I love you, Daddy,” Nadira kissed her father on the cheek. “And thank you, Rangers.”
“Your welcome,” they all answered.
“Thanks,” Alex simply told Jen as he walked by.
The others did not think anything of it other than a smart remark. Jen watched him go out the door, but before he did he stopped and turned around. He gave a small grin and walked out.
“Guys, I’ll meet you in the lobby, but I got to take care of something first,” Jen ran after Alex.

Wes and Eric were driving down the road only a few miles away from Mr. Collins’s mansion when what looked like a meteor crashed into the Earth. The ground exploded shooting huge junks of earth at the Silver Guardians. After screeching to a stop, they both rushed over to the scene.
“What is it?” Wes curiously stood staring at fire and molten rock.
“I don’t know…” Eric replied not knowing why this thing was here.
Then a creature started to creep up behind the two. Wes noticed and back-kicked it right in the gut.
“Watch out!” Wes warned his buddy.
“I bet he’s the cause of all this,” Eric suggested an explanation.
“My name is Shorty, and I must bring Devastation to this planet!” the creature introduced himself.
“No way, you must be crazy if you think were going to let you do that!” Eric was ready to do his job of protecting the Earth.
“But…” Shorty tried to explain himself.
“Time for Time Force!” Wes morphed into the Red Ranger. “Chrono Sabers!”
“Quantum Power!” Eric transformed into the Quantum Ranger. “Quantum Defender, Blade Mode!”
With weapons at hand, the two Rangers charged at the alien being. It was a surprise to the creature, but he jumped high into the sky and smashed down back right. The ground crumbled beneath the Power Rangers, but they each rolled off to the side. The Quantum Ranger fired at Shorty, but he missed. When the smoke had vanished, so had Shorty.
“No, he got away!” the Red Ranger complained.
“We’ll find him; don’t worry Wes,” the Quantum Ranger told his teammate.
“Power down!” they both returned to their natural appearances and got right back into their SUV.

Alex was walking very quickly toward the Time Force prison, but Jen was hot on his tail. She called after him many times, “Alex, wait! Alex,” but he would only walk faster away. “What in the world is he doing?” Jen thought to herself as she kept following after him. Alex walked through the basement of the headquarters, which allowed him to slip far from Jen. Then he ran into Time Force training where Jen had to dodge officers in training. Now Alex was way out of reach.
Alex easily received access to the cryogenic prisoners for the trial needed most of the guards to be there. For the guards who tried to stop him, he simply came up with a distraction for the guards.
“There has been a breach in the left sector of headquarters. Go check it out.”
“We must stay here and guard the cryogenic prison,” the guards replied.
“I’ll stay here and keep an eye on things.”
After the guards ran out to se what was wrong, Alex walked up to the X-Fault first and grabbed two mutants. Then he took a regular mutant from the ordinary fault of criminals. He set them in the cryogenic freezer, and reversed the setting to “de-frost.” Then the three mutants were free.
“I am your master, now do as say, and I will let you be free,” Alex explained and demanded.
The mutants knew who Alex was, so they decided to listen.
“Mewtron, I want you to take out Ransik for me, but do not get caught,” Alex began to give his orders. “Zenax, destroy everything in the video room; I cannot be seen. “And when the Rangers come to get you, take them out. Steelix, come with me and have your revenge.” Alex was not thinking about how Steelix would kill the one he loved. He had no more love left in his heart; it was all hatred at the moment.
Then actions took place. Mewtron took his position on top of a building ready to snipe Ransik as he walked over to the main lobby to meet the Rangers. Zenax had already sounded the alarms in the video room, so the Rangers were already on their way over. The old footage was gone, and the new footage was in; the guards were killed. Alex was walking toward the launching bay when Jen appeared right behind him.
“What are you doing, Alex?” Jen asked her teammate. “And what have you done?”
“I have done nothing, but set things right, but you just keep messing it up,” Alex explained his story. “Now I am setting it right once and for all.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Alex.”
“Don’t worry about it, everything will be just fine. I love you, Jennifer.”
“I used to love you, but you changed so much!” Jen started to cry.
“That’s only because you met Wes, and you think of me and him as the same person. We are centuries apart, Jen!”
“I know, but when I see you I think of him and how you are nothing like him.”
“You’re right, I am not like him; sorry!” Alex became furious. “But I have to do my job first, I have to. I have no choice.”
“What do you mean?”
Then Alex ran off not wanting to talk anymore. He was filled with anger and hatred and was afraid of hurting the one he loved. Jen ran after him calling him to stop, but she ran into an old, old teammate of hers.
“What…what are you doing here?” Jen feared of what was to happen to her.
“My time has come for my revenge; this time I will get it!” Steelix screamed in laughter.
Ransik was walking out in the open down the sidewalk towards the main lobby when suddenly he stopped. Nadira ran out of the lobby’s door and hugged her father. Then Mewtron aimed ready to fire, but Ransik saw hi over Nadira’s shoulder.
“Look out!” Ransik tackled his daughter in order to save her. “Run!” Then he dodged Mewtron’s blasts as he ran to reach the top of the building.
He knew who Mewtron was, and he did not like him one bit. Long ago when Ransik was putting together a group of mutants, Mewtron wanted to lead the gang. Ransik and Mewtron battled it out and Ransik won. Then Time Force took in Mewtron.
Lucas, Trip, and Katie ran into the video room to find Zenax destroying everything.
“Freeze, Time Force! You’re under arrest!” Katie showed her badge to the mutant.
“Yea, right!” Zenax took it as a joke and attacked.
Alex was running as fast as he could toward the Time Ship. He got in and started to read the manual. He was not thinking about what would happen after he came back all the way through. He only saw what he wanted to happen; he becoming the Red Ranger once again; he would save them all. After reading the sections on how to start the time portal and the Time Ship’s engines, he closed the book. The engines roared and he engaged the speed panels to full throttle; he was not exactly sure how to steer, but he just sat back. The Time Ship went nowhere.
“What are you doing, Alex?” Circuit came onto the holographic screen.
“Turn this thing back on, that’s an order!” Alex demanded with a shout as he opened the manual and read about the time portal. He could set it for a time period long enough that by the time Circuit overrode the system he would be through.
The time portal opened and Alex jumped out of the Time Ship and ran towards the portal.
“Alex, do not go though there!” Circuit tried to warn him through his radio. “The side effects are unknown and could be disastrous!”
But Alex maintained his speed and jumped into the time portal.

“Alright, let’s go,” Ransik was finally convinced to go into that room for the little chance he may get out.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To be continued...
