Rangers (from left to right): Nicholas Carlson, Eve Summers, Aaron Bayo, Amber Gibson, Mitchell Thornton
*credit goes to Metal Lion, Enigma Warrior, and Acatl for the hair, clothes, and suit templates*
Name: Aaron Bayo
Ranger: Red Terminus Ranger
Age: 17
Height: 5’10”
Build: Surfer Build
Background: Almost all of Aquain City knows Aaron because of his parent’s involvement in the community. His father, Thomas Bayo, is in charge of Aquain City’s junior sports program and his mother, Michelle Bayo, is head of the Aquain City School District. Despite his near celebrity status in Aquain City, he can normally dodge the eye of the public by acting like some stupid stoner. However, Aaron is actually one of the smartest people you’ll ever meet and he has never touched any drugs in his lifetime. Aaron is an avid surfer and gamer, but he enjoys relaxing even more. As a leader, Aaron is a bit hot-headed, but he always stays calm under pressure. As the red ranger, he tends to use spear-based attacks in combination with his hoverboard; his weapon is the Terminus Spear.
Name: Nicholas “Nick” Carlson
Ranger: Blue Terminus Ranger
Age: 17
Height: 5’9”
Build: Swimmer Build
Background: Nick is a natural athlete who loves the water and swimming in it even more. Nick’s mother is a nurse at Aquain Hospital and his father is the assistant principal at Aquain High. Nick tends to leap before he looks, but he is a loyal friend and he is very trustworthy. Nick’s hobbies include playing the barry sax, swimming, and playing video games. As the blue ranger, he uses water-based attacks in combination with his swimming ability; his weapon is the Terminus Trident.
Name: Mitchell Thornton
Ranger: Green Terminus Ranger
Age: 17
Height: 5’8”
Build: Runner Build
Background: Mitchell is a cross-country runner and the troublemaker of the team. Most of his relatives are millionaires, including his father’s cousin Billy Bob Thornton, so he normally provides the funds for the rangers. That aside, Mitchell is probably one of the fastest runners in Aquain City, if not the fastest. He loves attention, is loyal to his friends, and he believes in the philosophy of fighting for a reason. As the green ranger, he uses his speed to his advantage to both confuse and eliminate the enemy; his weapon is the Terminus Axes.
Name: Eve Summers
Ranger: Cyan Terminus Ranger
Age: 17
Height: 5’10”
Build: Runner Build
Background: Before she met Mitchell, Eve was a loner because of her bright, purple eyes. Shortly after meeting Mitchell, she met Amber, who was a loner like her. Amber and Eve have been best friends ever since. Eve deeply cares for Mitchell and calls him names like “Mitchy,” which annoys him to no end. As the cyan ranger, she uses a style of fighting meant more for defense than offense; her weapon is the Terminus Shield.
Name: Amber Gibson
Ranger: Pink Terminus Ranger
Age: 17
Height: 5’2”
Build: Average Build
Background: Amber is the violent, vertically challenged tomboy of the team. Amber is probably one of the most prone to violence people you’ll ever meet, but she does have a soft side. However, she only shows her soft side to her friends and family. It has been suggested that she is a lesbian, but no one knows for sure. One thing is for sure though; call her short and you will most likely die. As the pink ranger, she uses an all-offensive style of fighting; her weapon is the Terminus Sword.
http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww327/DevilfishB303/TerminusDevilfish.jpg
Name: JD Sandoval
Age: 17
Height: 6’0”
Build: Martial Artist Build
Background: JD has lived in Aquain City for around two years and is still getting to know people there. Through the help of former rangers, information from an alien database, and money from Mitchell’s family, JD was able to create the Terminus Rangers. He believes in things such as honor and pride, as well as several strong morals. Even though he isn’t a ranger, JD is always willing to help fight off foot soldiers. When JD fights, he uses a combination of various martial arts including Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do, and Muay Thai. Also, JD is an avid tenor saxophone player and surfer.

Prologue (from Dr. Floyd’s P.O.V)
I look around staring at the flashing lights of an ancient computer system, seemingly untouched by the thousands of years that it had laid dormant. Who would have thought that there would be a several-thousand-year-old cache of Aquitian technology right off the coast of Aquain City? In the 27 years I’ve lived in beautiful Aquain City, not once did it cross my mind that something like this could have been here all this time. When I think about it, a place like Aquain City seemed liked the most logical place for Aquitians to settle due to its large abundance of water and small amount of impurities, making the water here very similar to Aquitar’s water. But no matter what I do, I can’t seem to banish this incessant, foreboding feeling that keeps revealing itself in the back of my thoughts and mind.
Something here definitely doesn’t feel right. If this was indeed an attempt made by the Aquitians to colonize Earth, why did they need such an impenetrable security system? Why did it seem like the ones who built this place were trying to keep something from getting out? Nothing about this place feels right, but I’m getting distracted now. I continue trying to disarm what seems to be a complex firewall that blocks the main security controls. If I, or my fellow scientists can manage to get past this firewall, we would be able to access this facility’s database and the information on it. That database has thousands of years’ worth of alien data, which means knowledge about their energy sources, cybernetic technology, telepathic linking, and maybe even power rangers.
Finally, I had made it past the firewall. I let others know as I begin downloading the entire database onto a single disc. Coincidentally, Aquitians used disc drives like ours in their computers in order to upload and download data, but they unfortunately didn’t have a way to copy information. Our plan was to download the information from the database and upload onto one of our computers and further research it.
Wait a minute, this doesn’t make sense. The information in this database wasn’t just from Aquitar. There was information from a planet called “Triforia” and another one called “Eltar.” It seems that there is some basic format to follow when making technology that draws energy from something called the “Morphing Grid.” Maybe they’re talking about making Power Rangers, but I can’t be sure. After ten minutes, it was done downloading and I removed the disc and placed it inside a silver, metal box.
After removing the disc, the computer began to malfunction, meaning that we probably removed a vital program by accident. Suddenly, doors that had been sealed shut were beginning to open and several black creatures wearing masks with strange blue markings on them began to emerge. Without warning, they began attacking the other scientists. They begin operating the computer as if they were looking for something and then one of them punched the computer destroying.
“WHERE IS THE DATABASE?!” one of the creatures said with a raspy voice.
Database? They must mean the information I just downloaded to the disc. The creatures continue attacking the other scientists looking for my disc. I can’t let them have this. I have to get out of here.
I grab the metal box and begin running for the exit, hoping that those creatures are too occupied with the others to notice me escaping. After I reached the exit, I boarded the mini-submarine we used to get here and began to head for shore. I’m almost halfway to shore now, my safety is basically assured. Suddenly, a huge hole is blasted in the side of the submarine and water begins gushing in. I hope that this thing holds until I get to shore, but that blast injured my leg. Another blast punches a hole in the submarine and I’m almost to shore, but now it looks like I have to swim. My body can’t hold on much longer and it looks like I will lose consciousness soon. I’ve got to make it to shore, but it looks like I can’t old on much longer.

That banner is one of the most hideous I've ever seen. I could give a ten year old a copy of psp and they could come up with something that looks better. Seriously if that is what that site produces, stay away.

Actually, it's from a myspace banner site, but this one is only temporary. I'm planning on maybe having Delta Red Fox make me a banner that will become the permanent one for this fic.

Sorry for the delay on the first chapter's release, I have to completely rewrite because I personally don't like reading it and I'm rewriting it in the 3rd person instead of first because it harder to write the other way.
Both Chapter 1 and 2 shall be released hopefully on friday or saturday.

Don't tease us, give us something to read Veteran. First person is hard to write in because your character cannot know everything at once, unless they're a God, i kno how difficult it is. Keep going, you can do it.

I realize that which is why I let everyone know why there was a delay. As for writing style, I can write in 1st person just fine, but it lacks the same feeling it has in most of my writing.

Rays of warm, bright sunlight reflected off of the sign’s golden, steel letters that hung over the entry to Aquain High School, as the last day of school drew closer and closer to its end. There wasn’t one of Aquain High’s students that weren’t waiting for the bell to ring; in fact some of its students were already about their summer plans. In one of the classrooms, JD Sandoval, a teenager with thick, dark-brown hair, sat at his desk, diligently staring at his watch, as he patiently waited for the lovely sound of the bell ringing. Despite having moved to Aquain City only two years ago, JD had already made a name for himself amongst the city’s populace for his skill and awards in music and in martial arts. However, around three months after moving there, he had a strange dream, warning him of an ancient evil hidden in Aquain City’s nearby ocean, yet to awaken and charging him with the duty of protecting the city.
Now like most people, JD thought it was merely a dream, until he noticed an unusual mark on his chest, where his heart would be, that was placed upon him in said dream. After that night, he spent every waking moment researching the technology and science behind the power rangers’ suits, weapons, vehicles, and zords. In fact JD spent the following summer finding the identity of and tracking down former rangers like Dr. Thomas Oliver and Cam Watanabe, asking them for help in his quest. Since then, he has almost figured out how to make the morphers work, the suits work, the weapons work, and even the zords work. However, the only thing he hasn’t figured out was how to draw power from the Morphing Grid, which is essential in making all the things previously mentioned work. In fact, he had even come up with his own theory on power suits, but that’s a story for another time.
JD, who was still staring at his watch, was relieved to see that only ten seconds stood between JD and his summer vacation. He silently counted down the seconds in his mind, which was soon rewarded by the sound he had been waiting for; the sound of the bell ringing. With that, JD stood up, rising to his full height of 6’0” and then began to anxiously walk out the door and into the huge crowd that had amassed in the hallways. After making it through the mob of students, he approached two guys and a girl that were standing next to the fountain in the quad, casually talking and laughing. The three teens noticed their fellow teenager approaching and began waving at him and signaling for him to come over.
Their names are Nick Carlson, Aaron Bayo, and Karol Teas and like JD, they were all 17-years-old. Nick is a fun-loving teen with brownish-blonde hair, who loves to swim and play water polo. On the other hand, Aaron has curly, brown hair and loves surfing more than anyone at Aquain High. Then there’s Karol, who has really dark brown hair and probably has the most balls out of the three. Then, JD walked up, high-fiving Nick, shaking hands with Aaron, and hugging Karol.
“How’s it goin’ JD?” Nick asked, greeting JD as he arrived.
“Ah nothin’ much man,” JD replied, “How ‘bout yourself?”
“Same as usual man,” Nick answered, “You know just hangin’ around.”
“So are you guys going to the beach party tonight?” Karol asked everybody.
“You bet Karol!” Aaron answered immediately, “I wouldn’t miss a party like this for anything!”
“Me neither man!” Nick said anxiously, “What about you JD?”
“Do you seriously have to ask?” JD replied in a sarcastic tone. “By the way does anyone know if Mitchell is going?”
“Speaking of which,” Aaron said, “Has anyone even seen him today?”
At that moment, the four teenagers noticed that there was a bit of commotion occurring deep in the mob of students. Shortly after that, two people burst from the crowd, one was a guy and the other was a girl. It was easy for the four of them to realize that one was chasing the other and that the guy was toying with the girl.
“What? Can’t keep up?” the guy said, running backwards and sounding extremely cocky.
“When I catch you, you’re dead! YOU HEAR ME?! DEAD!!!” the girl shouted as she frantically tried to catch up.
The four teenagers looked at each other and they all said in unison,
“Mitchell.”
See Mitchell is almost always getting into trouble, but other than that, he’s really a nice guy. Mitchell is 17-years-old, has blonde hair, and is probably the fastest guy on the Aquain High’s cross-country running team. Now the person chasing him is Amber Gibson, a vertically-challenged girl who prefers using violence, rather than words to solve her problem. Neither Mitchell nor Amber knew that their little game of cat and mouse would be brought to a halt. I am of course referring to the cheerleading squad that had formed in their path, which posed a problem since Amber and Mitchell weren’t paying attention and neither were the cheerleaders.
“So do you think they’ll notice the cheerleaders before they hit ‘em?” JD asks.
“Probably not,” Aaron says as he fixes his Billabong hat.
“We should probably warn them,” Nick proposes.
“Yeah, we should,” Karol says in agreement.
“Nah,” the four say in unison.
The four of them resume watching the pursuit, watching as Mitchell turns around just in time to see himself collide into the cheerleaders, knocking them over. Amber seizes the opportunity caused by the collision and begins to leap towards Mitchell. Then, as if out of thin air, a tall blonde girl with bright purple eyes steps forward and catches Amber, restraining her from tackling Mitchell. Shortly after the blonde intervening, JD and Aaron began to walk towards where Mitchell lay on the ground. As the blonde continues to hold Amber back, Mitchell lifts his face off the pavement.
“Have a nice summer ladies,” Mitchell says as the cheerleaders get up and walk away swearing at Mitchell.
“So what did you do this time?” Aaron asks as both he and JD pull Mitchell to his feet.
“I called her short,” Mitchell says as he begins laughing.
“Well whatever you did, you sure pissed her off,” JD said as he and Aaron joined in laughing.
“You okay Mitchy?” the tall blonde asks.
“Yeah, I’m just fine Eve,” Mitchell answered.
Unlike her best friend Amber, Eve Summers is known for her purple eyes, the fact that she is taller than most girls, and always trying to resolve things peacefully.
“So shouldn’t you apologize, Amber?” Eve asks.
“Yeah,” Amber says, “I’m sorry Mitchell.”
“Yeah I’m sorry too,” Mitchell says, “But I’m gonna’ be even more sorry if we don’t hurry up and get to that party!”
“Oh shit!” Aaron says, “You’re right!”
“Well I’ll see you guys later,” JD says as he heads for the B Parking lot.
_________________________________________________________________
Four hours later, as the party is coming to a close, Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, and JD is out in the ocean surfing their hearts out seeing just who can catch the most waves. Meanwhile, Karol, Amber, and Eve were beating, or more specifically, owning a team of guys at volleyball. Suddenly, there were several loud popping sounds followed by a shockwave that knocked JD and his friends off their boards and into the ocean’s cold, blue saltwater.
“What the hell was that?!” JD asked in response to what had just happened as he pulled himself back onto his board.
The seven teens then noticed what looked like a submarine, which appeared to have been attacked, slowly making its way towards shore. Despite all the panic that had been caused by the explosions, JD and his friends began to notice several black objects speeding through the water, in what seemed to be an attempt at catching the submarine. It was then, as he evaluated the situation, that JD knew that this was the evil he was warned of. He signaled to Nick, Mitchell, and Aaron to get back onto shore as he watched the submarine and its pursuers draw closer to where they were. As they began to swim to shore, somebody swam out of the submarine looking as if they were going to pass out. JD gestured for the others to keep swimming as he helped the unknown person to shore, while trying elude their mysterious pursuers. They finally reached shore, but so did whatever was chasing them.
“GIVE US THE DATABASE!!!” a deep, raspy voice screamed as several unknown creatures emerged from the water.
These creatures were clad in what seemed to be strange, black body armor with streaks of blue spread throughout it in various places. Each and every one of these creatures carried a strange weapon that seemed like a dagger and their faces were hidden by a black mask, marked with several blue symbols and lines.
“Karol,” JD said, pulling the injured man to his feet, “Get this man to safety. We’ll take care of these freaks.”
“Will you guys be okay?” Karol asks, “I mean there’s like fifteen of them and six of you.”
“C’mon,” Aaron said, “They can’t be that tough.”
“And thanks for the vote of confidence,” Amber said sarcastically.
“Okay,” Karol said taking the guy away, “Good luck.”
JD, Nick, Aaron, Mitchell, Amber, and Eve ran forward, coming to a halt as they stood only ten feet in front of their enemy. Then, one of the creatures raised his weapon and pointed at the teens, asking,
“HAND OVER THE DATABASE!!!”
“How ‘bout you forget the database and go home,” Aaron said as he stepped forward.
“Or,” Nick said stretching his arms, “We could hand you your asses instead.”
“I think I like the second idea better,” Amber anxiously said.
“You know something?” Mitchell said turning towards Amber, “I think this is the first time we agree on something.”
“Normally I would want to talk it out,” Eve said thinking about the injured man, “But harming innocent people is unforgivable!”
“All I know is,” JD said cracking his knuckles, “It’s a good thing you’re already black and blue, cuz this is gonna’ get ugly.”

Hmm well Veteran, it's a good idea, however the tenses are confused. You switch between third person present and past, so it's kinda hard to know if the narrator's there or distant.
E.G sometime you use 'were' then you use 'are in the next sentence. You've confused the tense. I know you said it was hard and you were trying to get it sorted so i'm just pointing out that you need to work a little bit harder on that.
E.G 'Their names are Nick...' should be 'They were Nick, Aaron...'
'Nick is 17 and has blonde...' should be 'Nick was 17 with blonde...'
See how it all fits better? I like how you'd sometimes refer to yourself in the first person as it makes it all the more personal, but don't do it too often toherwise it shifts between first and third person too much. if you are gonna shift, try and do it with clear intervals, so the readers can tell and not have to guess.
Also, it seemed a bit rushed at the start; i know it can be boring explaining stuff, but i dunno try and strech it out a little, use smaller sentences.
Anyways, this was good and has potential so keep it up:023::023:

OK I will keep that in mind, but I normally try to refrain from referring to my friends in the past tense, but from now on I think I'll do it all in the present tense like I write most of my Thesis Essays.
I appreciate the advice ML and I hope you enjoy chapter 2 that should be up on Friday at the latest.

“All I know is,” JD says as he cracks his knuckles, “It’s a good thing you’re already black and blue, cuz this is gonna’ get ugly.”
As JD, Nick, Aaron, Mitchell, Amber, and Eve are charging towards their enigmatic enemies, they split up, taking on small groups of the creatures at a time. Nick, Mitchell, Amber, and Eve are all taking on two creatures each, while Aaron takes on three and JD takes on four. As the others are fighting, JD delivers a punch to one of the creature’s face, followed by a knee thrust to another creature’s chest. One of them slices at JD, causing him to jump back, delivering an elbow to the creature behind him. As JD punches yet another one of these creatures, he cracks its mask causing the creature to spasm and then turn into water.
“HEY EVERYBODY!!!” JD shouts as he cracks another one of the creature’s mask, “IF YOU CRACK THEIR MASKS, THEY EXPLODE!!!”
Taking advantage of their enemies’ newly discovered weakness, the teens begin to deliver blow after blow, destroying every last one of the creatures until only one remained.
“YOU’LL PAY FOR DEFYING US!!!” the only remaining creature says as he cowers back into the ocean.
The six teenagers watch as the creature dives back into the water, quickly swimming back to where the explosions came from. After their battle, JD and his friends decide to go back to see if Karol and the injured man are okay. On his way to where Karol and the man are, JD thinks about the creatures that he and his friends just fought.
“This must be the evil I was warned of,” JD thinks to himself, “But I still need more time to finish Project Terminus.”
When the teens arrive at JD’s 1970 VW Bus, where Karol had let the man rest in the back, Aaron asks Karol,
“So is he alright?”
“His leg is pretty torn up, but I was able to stop the bleeding,” Karol says as she points to the bandages on his leg.
The man has dishwater blonde hair and his face is covered by a goatee and he appears to be in his forties.
“We should probably take him to a hospital,” Eve says looking at the injured man.
“No need to,” the man says as he begins to sit up, “I’m just fine. I’m in debt to you for saving me from those abominations. By the way, I’m Dr. Robert Floyd.”
“Don’t worry about it Dr. Floyd. By the way I’m JD and these are my friends Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, Amber, and Eve,” JD says, “But that aside, do you think you could tell me why they were after you?”
“I think they were after this,” he says as he pulls out and opens a metal box, revealing a disc.
Dr. Floyd talks for hours, explaining all about the Aquitian Ruins and what it was that had transpired there. He then explains what was on the disc, bringing JD’s interest to a peak. JD begins to think about how he could use the information on the disc.
“And that’s what happened,” Dr. Floyd says.
“Is there any way that you could access this information?” JD asks.
“Yes,” Dr. Floyd says as he scratches his goatee, “Back at my lab, I have the necessary equipment to run this disc. Why do you ask?”
“Whatever it was that attacked you will try to attack you again,” JD says, “And they will probably stop at nothing to get what they want.”
“What are you getting at?”
“It may sound strange, but I have a way to fight these guys.”
“So why do you need the data on this disc?”
“Well according to what you said, that disc has the data that I need to complete ‘Project Terminus.’”
“Project Terminus?” everyone says in unison.
JD looks around at his now confused friends and takes a deep breath.
“Project Terminus is Earth’s next set of protectors,” JD says calmly, “Project Terminus is Earth’s next team of Power Rangers.”
Everyone around JD stays speechless, now looking even more confused by his statement. Dr. Floyd breaks the silence, laughing at that statement.
“Power Rangers?!” Dr. Floyd says as he laughs hysterically, “Are you serious?!”
“Yes,” JD says, running his hand through his hair, “It may sound funny, but this might be our only chance. Now you can either sit around in disbelief and do nothing, or you can help me.”
“I’m in,” Aaron says.
“So am I,” Eve says in agreement.
“If we get to fight those things everyday, then I’m in,” Amber says.
“Friends need to stick together, so I’m in,” Nick declares.
“You can count me in,” Karol says.
“I guess since everybody’s doing it,” Mitchell says looking at everybody else, “I would look pretty bad if I was the only one against it, so I’m in too.”
JD looks at all of his friend’s faces, receiving a nod or sign of approval from each of his friends.
“So,” JD says as he turns towards Dr. Floyd, “Are you willing to help us?”
“Yeah I’ll help you guys,” Dr. Floyd says as he rubs his bandaged leg, “I figure I owe you guys one anyways. Okay well let’s get to my lab.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Where is the database?” a dark, armored figure says as he grabs his lackey by the neck.
“I was about to get it,” the creature says as he is being choked, “But I was stopped by a bunch of humans.”
“A bunch of humans?” the figure says, “You were stopped by humans?! I SHOULD DESTROY YOU NOW!!!”
“Please. Give me another chance!”
“Fine. I shall give you the power to win, but should you fail, I shall destroy you myself.”
“I understand.”
The armored creature reaches out with his arm and touches the creature’s mask, lighting it up with black lightning. Through doing this, the armored figure changes the creature into a strange looking monster that resembles an evil masked pirate crossed with a turtle. With that the armored figure signals for the monster to leave.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After stopping by JD’s house to pick up his data discs containing “Project Terminus,” Dr. Floyd and the teens head to Dr. Floyd’s lab. Shortly after entering his lab, JD notices that several of the materials he needs to build the morphers and weapons are in his lab. All of the information on the database both enlightens and surprises JD and through utilizing this data he is able to improve his blueprints for his entire ranger tech. As JD walks around Dr. Floyd’s lab inspecting all of his equipment and materials, he begins to gather everybody in one spot in order to brief them.
“Alright everybody!” JD says as he picks up a piece of steel, “If all of you do exactly as I say, we should be able to make Project Terminus a reality within a matter of hours.”
And so the teens and Dr. Floyd begin their work on Project Terminus. Within three and a half hours of work, the gang manages to create the morphers and the suits that go with them. In the city, the monster and his foot soldiers are wreaking havoc in the city and the teens decide its time to fight back.
“Before we fight,” JD says as he picks up the tray with the morphers on them, “I must tell you which ranger is who.”
JD then walks up to Eve and hands her a morpher and says,
“Eve, you’re desire to bring peace to everyone will make you a great ranger and therefore you are the Cyan Terminus Ranger.”
JD walks up to Mitchell and says,
“You’re a good person and your speed is a valuable asset. Because of that, you are now the Green Terminus Ranger.”
JD turns to Amber and says,
“You are probably the strongest girl I know and that makes you the ideal person to be the Pink Terminus Ranger.”
JD then looks at Nick and declares,
“Your loyalty is a very valuable asset, making a great person to have on a team. Henceforth, you shall be the Blue Terminus Ranger.”
JD then walks up to Aaron and says,
“Aaron, for as long as I’ve known you, you’ve been a natural leader and that’s why I want you to be the Red Terminus Ranger.”
“I just have one question,” Aaron asks, “Why aren’t you a ranger?”
“Someone has to operate the equipment while you guys fight,” JD says.
“What about Karol?” Eve asks.
“Well I had only designed five morphers and well…” JD says, “I didn’t really think she’d be a good ranger.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence JD,” Karol says sarcastically.
“Enough questions,” Dr. Floyd says, “We got some trouble in the city guys!”
“It’s time to show ‘em what you got guys!” JD shouts, “Good luck.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Go forth and find the database my Hydrogons!” the tortoise pirate yells as a mob of black and blue creatures begin to attack random civilians.
Five teenagers run towards the mobs and stop as the monster notices them.
“What do you little asswipes want?!” the monster says.
“We want you to take your goons and leave!” Aaron shouts in response.
“Well I don’t plan on leaving,” the tortoise says mockingly.
“Well it seems like we have no choice,” Nick says looking at Aaron.
“Ready guys?” Aaron asks pulling out a strange looking cellphone.
“Ready!” the other four teen says in unison, pulling out phones identical to Aaron’s.
“LET’S RIDE!!!”
SIDENOTE: Hey everybody, I decided since I made you wait so long, I would give you chapter 2 a little early, so please enjoy.

You really should have waited and not rushed it, again it was all rushed: Sure explaining morphers and such is beyond me so that part to be skipped was fine, the sudden rush to the city to stop the bad guys probably should have been explained a little better.
However, it's getting there, you atleast decided on a tense and stuck to it. Keep working at it Veteran!:023:

Thanks for the advice ML it was actually half written when I decided to finish it yesterday and I agree, it feels very rushed. Today I begin my work on Ch 3 which should be up on Friday.

Fifteen Minutes Ago…
“How do these things work?” Eve asks holding out a strange device that resembles a cell phone.
“It’s actually quite simple,” JD says in reply. “See originally I thought of storing the suits in data form in a high-powered computer and by linking the morphers to that same computer, it would allow the suits to materialize at the morpher’s signal.”
“So why didn’t you just do that?” Dr. Floyd asks as he rubs his beard.
“Because there isn’t a computer with even a quarter of the memory and power needed to pull this off,” JD states.
“So how did you solve this problem?” Nick asks in response.
“Well,” JD replies, nodding at Dr. Floyd. “Thanks to Dr. Floyd and his data, I was able to utilize the Morphing Grid by storing the suits’ data there instead.”
“So all of our powers are in this ‘Morphing Grid’ thing?” a confused Aaron asks.
“Pretty much,” JD answers.
Suddenly, a strange sounding buzzard goes off, causing the group to look at the 72” DLP television that was set up next to Dr. Floyd’s collection of computers. As the teens’ attention is focused on the screen, a strange figure that resembling an evil turtle and clad in a pirates clothing can be seen in downtown Aquain City, summoning a huge mob of creatures and attacking innocent bystanders.
“WHERE IS THE DATABASE?!” the nefarious turtle screams as he violently lifts up a civilian and harshly throws him aside.
“Well it looks it’s time guys,” JD declares looking at his five friends that stand before him. “Good luck.”
With those words, the five teenagers quickly departed for
Now…
As the monstrous turtle is about to strike yet another civilian, the sound of his Hydrogon minions screaming in pain interrupts him. The monster closely watches the mob of his minions, noticing how numbers on his side are steadily decreasing. Then his minions began retreating backwards, finally giving the turtle a view of his opponents. Aaron, Nick, Eve, Mitchell, and Amber strongly stand in front of him, already knowing their next move. Then, Aaron confidently steps forward and stares straight at the poor excuse for a pirate.
“Ready guys?” Aaron says as he pulls out his morpher, glancing at his fellow teenagers.
“READY!” the other four teenagers say as they pull out their morphers that are identical to Aaron’s, giving him a nod of approval.
Then the teenagers look at their morphers, pushing the button with a silver “T” on it, and then thrusting the cell phones forward, they shout in unison,
“LET’S RIDE!!!”
Upon uttering these words, a strange, silver suit brightly materializes on each of the teenagers, covering almost all of their body with the exception of their heads. Then, each of the teens’ colored armor appears on their suit, with the helmet almost simultaneously appearing on each of the teen’s head. In the process of all this, an almost divine light shrouds the battlefield and temporarily blinding anyone who sees it, assuring that no one attacks the teens while they are left vulnerable during the morphing sequence. The light dissipates, revealing five different colored figures standing where the teenagers once stood. Each of the figures step forward, appearing as if ready to fight.
“The Red Seahawk!” the red figure says as he strikes a fighting pose. “Red Terminus Ranger!”
“The Blue Shark!” the blue one declares, striking a fighting pose. “Blue Terminus Ranger!”
“The Green Hammerhead!” the green figure yells as he poses. “Green Terminus Ranger!”
“The Cyan Dolphin!” the cyan one states making a defensive pose. “Cyan Terminus Ranger!”
“The Pink Seal!” the pink figure shouts striking an offensive pose. “Pink Terminus Rangers!”
“Power Rangers Terminus!” the five rangers yell before splitting up and attacking the remaining hydrogons left in the mob.
Aaron, the red ranger, dashes straight forward and summons his Terminus Spear, attacking and eliminating any hydrogons in his path as he makes his way towards the pirate turtle. Mitchell, the green ranger, is speeding around the battlefield using his Terminus Axes to slash his enemies. Using her Terminus Sword, Amber is viciously slicing any creature she sees as she cuts through the mob. Meanwhile, Eve, the cyan ranger, is using her Terminus Shield to guard Amber as she carelessly attacks their opponents. Then, Nick, the blue ranger, summons his Terminus Trident and begins striking hydrogons and turning them into water with each hit.
As the other rangers continue to fight, Aaron finally reaches the pirate turtle. The monstrous pirate draws a large, jagged sword and meets Aaron’s spear with his sword. Despite his efforts, the monster is forced to fall back, but he is met by Nick’s trident. Nick then lifts and throws the turtle into the air and Mitchell, seizing the opportunity, jumps into the air and slices the monster as he descends. Eve then catches the monster with her shield and throws him into Amber, who then slices the nefarious turtle. The turtle monster struggles to his feet, but his efforts are rewarded by Aaron thrusting his spear, now full of his energy, through his chest. Aaron then withdraws his spear from his opponent and watches as the pirate turtle breathes his last breath, bursting into a pillar of water.
The rangers give each other high fives, rejoicing in the destruction of their foe. Even JD, Karol, and Dr. Floyd rejoice in unison as they watch the spectacle through the screen. The teens then triumphantly dimorph and start heading back to Dr. Floyd’s lab.
“We just kicked that thing’s ass man!” Mitchell confidently declares as he shakes Amber’s shoulder.
“Yeah,” Amber replies sounding slightly hostile, “And if you don’t take your hands off me, the same thing will happen to you.”
“I guess some things never change,” Eve says as she chuckles a bit.
Suddenly the teens’ morphers began beeping and Aaron answered its call.
“Hey guys,” JD happily says, “I just wanted to test the communication function on your morphers and be the first to congratulate you on a job well done.”
“Well we wouldn’t have been able to do crap without your help,” Nick says into his morpher.
“But you guys did all the hard work,” JD replies. “Either way, come on home guys. There is still much work left to be done and little time to do it.”
“Right,” Aaron says looking at the morpher, “Let’s go home guys.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A nefarious creature, clad in sinister, black armor looks, sits in the center of a dark room. He watches his weak minion being destroyed through a strange screen that appears to be somewhat organic. The black armor covers all of his body, except for his right eye which was covered by shroud of pure white. The figure runs his metal fingers across the bottom of his chin and says a deep,
“It appears that it will take slightly longer than anticipated to accomplish our plan, but these so-called ‘Power Rangers’ are no threat to us. Soon the full extent of my powers shall return and creating monsters won’t drain so much of my energy anymore, but one monster at a time will have to suffice for now.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I still can’t believe all this is happening,” Nick says scratching his head.
“I mean who would have thought that the five of us would become Power Rangers?” Mitchell says as he walks around the lab. “Man I can’t wait to tell my parents!”
“Mitchy,” Eve says in that innocent voice of hers, “I don’t think that’s such a good idea.”
“She’s right Mitchell,” Aaron says, “If you tell anyone about this…”
“You could put you’re all of your family and friends in danger,” JD says in grim voice.
“I can see your point,” Mitchell declares, “But can you try to not sound like an old man?”
“Yeah,” Dr. Floyd says turning away from his computer screen, “You sound even older than I am.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” JD says.
The teens laugh as JD sits back down and continues his work on the ranger’s newest gear.
“This is only the beginning,” JD thinks to himself, continuing his work.

More often than not, I find myself cramped for time between Driver's Ed, Housework, and summer school, which is why it took me so long to come out with Chapter 3, because I tried to take my time and then my dad's Tia Veila had a stroke. In fact, at 7:30 AM today, my Dad's Tio Tony passed away and we had to console my grandfather (his brother).
Either way, I'm keeping my overall style of writing, but in my next chapter I will try something new to most fanfics.
I appreciate your interest and I hope you keep on reading.

Kinda, my dad is full-blooded mexican and my mom is german/french canadian, which makes me half mexican and half white. In fact, my brother, sister, and myself are the only Sandovals in my dad's family that aren't full-blooded mexican.
Just a quick update for today. Chapter 4 was delayed because I was out partying with my buddies Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, and Taylor (the only one not mentioned in my fic or is he) celebrating the end of summer school. I will try to have it up soon, but I make no guarantees.

Nick…
I’ve never really been able to understand many of the things in life, but now it’s all starting to come together. It’s only been three days since my friends and I became Power Rangers and the concept of stuff like destiny or fate, seem as real as night and day. The five of us now carry the burden of saving the world on our shoulders and we haven’t even graduated yet! The good thing is, I have four other people to help carry all this weight, but I still can’t believe JD was capable of something like this. I’ve known him for two years, but I never expected he would be capable of doing stuff like this. Sure, he’s seemed a bit distant at times or just start talking about thing I didn’t understand, but normally I would guess he was high or just plain crazy. I can worry about that later, but right now, I need to worry about what’s going on right now and my new responsibilities as a Power Rangers.
Chapter 4: Neptune
Strange sounds resembling explosions and blaster fire consume Dr. Floyd’s lab. The five teens can be seen sitting in five multi-colored, unusual, steel objects resembling pods. JD is sitting at one of Dr. Floyd’s many computers, seemingly monitoring what was going on inside these pods. The cacophony of boisterous sound suddenly halts as the top of each pod splits in half and slides down into its sides. Five seemingly excited teenagers climb out of the pods and head over towards JD, who spins his chair until he faces the teens.
“So what do you guys think of the T-Bubbles?” JD says running his fingers through his thick hair.
“They’re great man,” Mitchell declares, “I just can’t wait to actually pilot those zords you made!”
“Believe me,” JD replies, “These T-Bubbles will make using those zords all the easier.”
“And why is that?” Amber asks.
“Alright,” JD proudly answers, “See we constructed all the zords in data form on the Morphing Grid much like you’re powers. Now, the T-Bubbles not only act as a device to summon the zords, but they shall also provide transportation to your zord and they shall act as a cockpit to control your zord once inside.”
“That seems like a pretty hard task,” Aaron comments.
“Well this all sounds very interesting,” Nick states in a rather lethargic tone, “But I was wondering if it is possible if we could take a little break.”
“Same here,” Eve adds, “I mean we’ve been working nonstop ever since we destroyed that monster.”
“You know what,” JD calmly states, “You guys are right, let’s go head down to ‘Ernie’s’!”
“That sounds great!” Eve happily declares.
“You comin’ Doc?” Nick asks.
“Nah,” Dr. Floyd says rubbing his beard yet again, “I’ll stay back here and see if I can find out anything about enemy and I’ll make sure to let you know if our ‘friends’ show up.”
“Alright,” Mitchell says, “Later!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Finally,” a black, armored figure says, “My power has been restored. It may not be the full extent of my power, but it should be enough to destroy those Power Rangers.”
The armored figure picks up a Hydrogon by its black neck and brings its masked face within inches of his own.
“Bring me Prisoner #034!” the figure says, releasing his lackey from his cold steel grip.
“Right away master!” the minion says, quickly running towards the door behind his master.
Minutes later, the Hydrogon returns, dragging an all black creature with what appears to be a strange, orange seal imprinted on his chest. The creature then lays the creature on his back and the armored figure stands over his body.
“I release you from your imprisonment!” the figure says as he strikes the creature in the center of the seal.
The armored figure then shocks the seemingly lifeless creature with a surge of dark energy, shattering the seal on his chest. The creature, still surging with dark energy, convulses and spasms, as it begins to mutate into something different. His left hand becomes a metallic crab claw, with his body turning into a monstrous form that resembles a humanoid hermit crab. As the monster mutates, the sounds of bones cracking and the smell of burning flesh fill the room. Finally the monster stops moving and slowly begins to arise, with small amounts of dark energy still flickering around him.
“Where am I?” the crab asks in a rather obvious, hostile tone.
The black, armored figure steps forward and puts his hand on the monster’s shoulder.
“You are on Earth,” the armored figure answers in his nefarious voice. “You were imprisoned and sealed away here by the Aquitar’s Power Rangers just like I was, but now you’re free.”
“Well I guess a little thank you is in order,” the crab says.
“Yes, but instead of doing that, I want you to return the favor.”
“So what is that you want me to do?”
“I want you to eliminate the only thing that is standing in my way.”
“And what would that be?”
“The Power Rangers; I want you to kill them.”
“I, Hermix, am at your service.”
Hermix confidently marches out of the room, with a mob of Hydrogons following closely behind him.
“This shall test their strength,” the armored figure, “But soon all of my energy will return and I will be strong enough to release ‘them’.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The six teens walk into a small, Hawaiian themed, outdoor area that is full of tables and chairs. The teens sit down at a table and wait for the big man himself to come and take their order. After only thirty seconds, a pleasantly plump man appearing to be somewhere in his mid to late forties and wearing in a bright Hawaiian Shirt, walks over to their table.
“Well if it isn’t my favorite customers!” the big man says pulling out a pad of paper and pen.
“How’s it goin’ Ernie?” JD asks greeting him.
“I’m doing good,” Ernie says, “How about you guys?”
“We’re good,” Nick answers.
“Hey,” Ernie says grabbing everyone’s attention, “You guys didn’t happen to see what happen here a few days ago, did you?”
“What are you talking about?” Amber asks.
“You know,” he says, “Those monsters that attacked us.”
“Oh that,” Mitchell says, “Yeah we heard about it.”
“They say,” Ernie begins saying, “That a new bunch of Power Rangers showed up and saved the day.”
“Really?” Eve says chuckling.
“It’s actually pretty funny,” Ernie continues.
“And why is that?” Aaron asks.
“Because this will be second time,” Ernie answers, “That I’ve been in the same town as the Power Rangers.”
“I guess that is pretty funny,” JD comments.
“So what can I get you guys?” Ernie asks, “The usual?”
“How’d you guess?” Aaron sarcastically asks.
“Okay,” Ernie says, “I’ll be right back.”
After about 3 minutes, Ernie arrives with their fruit smoothies and quickly leaves to help other customers.
“It sure feels good to have a little break after all that work,” Eve says taking a sip of her smoothie.
“It sure is,” Amber comments as she sips her smoothie.
“Well let’s just hope that our ‘friends’ don’t show up,” Mitchell says as he puts his smoothie down.
Suddenly, a scream in the distance diverts the teens’ attention and they notice a pack of Hydrogons in the distance, with a monster resembling a hermit crab leading the pack.
“You just had to say something,” JD sarcastically asks, “Didn’t you?”
“LET’S GO!” Aaron bravely yells.
As most of the innocent bystanders in or around the juice bar flee, the six teens jump to their feet and begin fighting off the waves of Hydrogons. JD begins slamming Hydrogons into each other and skillfully cracking each of their masks. Meanwhile, the other five teens make room for themselves and pull out their morphers.
“Let’s Ride!” the five teens say in unison.
The suits materialize, the armor snaps, the helmets envelope the teens head, and the rangers charge forward. JD cracks mask after mask as he makes his way towards his friends. The rangers make short work of the Hydrogons as they make their way to the crab monster.
“Hey guys!” JD shouts, “I’m heading back to the lab!”
“Got it!” Aaron shouts in reply.
Then Aaron, using his Terminus Spear begins slashing all the Hydrogons around him, with the steel of his spear slicing each and every one of them in two. Using his spear, he impales another one, turning it to water and then continues to eliminate the enemy by hurling his spear right through another’s spear. Utilizing the full power of his spear, Aaron thrusts his spear, which shoots an extremely strong whirlwind at his opponents. While the Hydrogons are trapped by the whirlwind, Aaron slices his spear which sends a wide, red crescent flying through his trapped enemies. Meanwhile, off to Aaron’s far right, Mitchell hurls one of his axes like a tomahawk towards his enemy and lunges forward cutting them one by one with his remaining axe, making sure that he eliminates each one with a single slash. Then he leaps forward and he removes the axe that he threw from the head of a Hydrogon, but without losing any speed, he continues decapitating and slashing all that get near him. Without thinking, he strikes the ground with both of his axes resulting in the ground fracturing and breaking apart, which causes all of nearby enemies that survived to fall in the crack.
Nick dashes through the battlefield, dodging and countering any attack that comes his way with his Terminus Trident, as he swiftly makes his way to the nearby harbor. He then gracefully dives into the water and patiently waits for his enemies to follow in pursuit of him, and unfortunately for them, they do. Before they realize what is actually happening, Nick quickly thrusts his trident through one Hydrogon’s head, cracking the mask of the one that was off to his right with a single kick. Nick, who is enjoying himself, twirls his trident around and summons a violent whirlpool which engulfs the twenty-some remaining Hydrogons and destroys them.
“I think that qualifies as the biggest swirlie in history,” Nick jokes.
On the other side of the battlefield, Amber is brutally killing each and every one in her path with his Terminus Sword, while Eve guards and constantly protects her with her Terminus Shield. The two of them run deeper into the center of the mob, with Amber killing more and more enemies by either stabbing them, slashing them, decapitating them, or any combination those three things. As Amber carelessly and mindlessly attacks, Eve reaches over Amber’s back blocking several attacks with her shield and kicking away those behind her. Several of the Hydrogons charge up their energy and shoot at the Amber and Eve, but Eve activates her shield, creating a huge barrier of cyan colored energy. After Eve neutralizes their attacks and the barrier disappears, Amber’s sword swirled with pink energy, causing its blade glow pink and quadruple in size. She then pivots on her right foot and swings the massive blade a full 360 degrees, which slices all of the Hydrogons around her in half.
Having defeated the mobs of Hydrogons, the rangers run up and face Hermix.
“Seems I underestimated you,” Hermix half-heartedly declares.
“What do you want from us? WHY ARE YOU HERE?!” Nick hostilely asks.
“The man who freed me wants the database,” Hermix says as he continues, “I however, just want to pay my debt and killing people.”
“What do you mean by ‘the man who freed you’?” Eve asks.
“I was imprisoned in some Aquitian hellhole for thousands of years,” the monster says, “Then this stranger frees me and commands me to kill you if I want to be free again.”
“Well I’m sorry,” Aaron says, “But we aren’t dying anytime soon.”
“NOTHING WILL GET IN THE WAY OF MY FREEDOM!!!” Hermix yells as he charges at the rangers.
The rangers raise their weapons and meet the monster head on. The steel of the teens’ weapons clash with Hermix’s crab claw, forcing Hermix backwards. The five of them then surround Hermix and from all sides, but Hermix manages to block their attacks and knocks the rangers to the ground. The monster then gathers energy in his right hand and fires it directly at rangers, causing a huge explosion to light up the battle field.
“Is that how tough you are,” Hermix arrogantly yells, “You guys are pathetic!”
Hermix walks away with a feeling of triumph, but is stopped by voice.
“Pathetic?” Nick says as the smoke is clearing, “Is that what we are?!”
“But how?!” Hermix asks sounding rather confused.
“It’s amazing what I can do with my shield,” Eve says, “Isn’t it?”
Before Hermix could even respond, the teens gather their energy into a single orb of golden energy and fire it at the monstrous crab. Hermix, seeing no other options, braces himself and watches in horror as the orb comes towards him. The blast hits him square in the chest and sends him flying backwards into the building behind him.
“I SHALL BE FREE AGAIN!!!” Hermix yells as he pulls out a strange device and activates it.
Hermix then begins glowing with a purple energy as he starts to grow in size.
“JD?” Nick worriedly asks, “I think we may have a big problem.”
“Well if it’s about thirty stories tall,” JD replies, “There won’t be a problem at all. The T-Bubbles are on their way!”
Just then, five differently colored pods came quickly hovering down the road, stopping in front of their respective ranger.
“Don’t worry guys,” JD says, “Just do what you did in the simulator and you’ll be fine!”
The tops of the T-Bubbles split in half and slide down their sides as the cockpit opens, allowing the rangers to enter each of their T-Bubbles’ cockpit.
“Alright,” Aaron says, “It’s time to see what these things can do!”
“Yeah,” Nick shouts in agreement, “LET’S DO THIS!!!”
The rangers insert their morphers into the control panel and begin shooting forward towards the giant. Aaron’s bubble flys up to the sky, while the other four’s bubbles dive into the ocean. The T-Bubbles, surging with the rangers’ energy, project a stream of each ranger’s in front of each of the pods. The stream of energy fluctuates and distorts as each of the zords materialize in front of their ranger counterpart. The zords cry out as each of them majestically break free of the stream of energy before the rangers’ very own eyes.
A huge red hawk screeches as Aaron’s T-Bubble enters the zord and becomes its cockpit.
“The Terminus Seahawk is ready to soar!” Aaron yells as he activates the controls.
“The Terminus Shark has arrived!” Nick proudly declares as he enters a zord that resembles a blue tiger shark.
“Terminus Hammerhead is popped, locked, and ready to drop!” Mitchell shouts as bubble enters a green hammerhead shark.
“My Terminus Dolphin and I are ready to play!” Eve says as she enters a cyan dolphin.
“Let’s go Terminus Seal!” Amber says as she enters and activates her pink seal.
The five zords emerge from the water and head for where the giant Hermix is standing. Before he has a chance to respond the five zords attack in unison and knock the giant into the water. He emerges from the water only to be back in by the Terminus Seal and Dolphin. As Hermix is emerged in the water the Terminus Shark and Hammerhead bite his arms, throwing him into the air shortly after. The Terminus Seahawk’s wing then begin glowing and he slices through the crab. Hermix, now enraged by the attack, lets out a blood curdling scream and blasts the rangers’ zords, sending them all firing backwards into the water.
“You guys ok?” JD worriedly asks.
“Yeah we’re fine man,” Nick replies.
“I think it’s time for you guys to use the megazord,” JD suggests.
“Alright,” Aaron says, “LET’S BRING ‘EM TOGETHER!!!”
The zords glow with energy as they roar back to life. The Terminus Hawk shoots out of the water as the Terminus Seal begins to pull its limbs into its body. Then the Terminus Hammerhead vertically splits in half and becomes the megazord’s legs. The Terminus Shark and Dolphin attach themselves to the torso of the megazord and become the arms. Finally, the Terminus Seahawk’s flew up to the torso of the megazord and latched on to the top of it, becoming the head.
“Neptune Megazord!’ the rangers say in unison as the giant robot strikes a pose.
The Neptune Megazord charges at Hermix, dodging all of Hermix’s attacks as they dash towards him.
“It seems I underestimated you five,” Hermix says sorrowfully, “BUT I DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE!!!”
Before he can even prepare an attack, a huge, blue, jagged blade springs out of the shark’s mouth and stabs through the monstrous crab’s torso.
“I guess I lose,” Hermix says, spitting up blood and gasping for air, “I guess…I…l-l-lose.”
With those final words, Hermix explodes into a millions of pieces, which then turn into water and disappear.
“Alright we did it!” Nick says as he gives a thumbs-up to the other rangers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Well it looks like it was another job well done,” Dr. Floyd triumphantly says.
“If we keep this up,” Nick says, “These guys will be outta’ town by next week!”
“Yeah!” the other four say in unison.
“Just don’t underestimate them,” JD says, “Just because it’s gone well so far doesn’t mean it will stay that way.”
“Aw come on,” Mitchell says, “Look on the bright side old man!”
“Hey,” JD says, “I might sound old but I will kick your ass if you keep pushin’ it.”
“You guys mess up my lab and I’ll kick both your asses!” Dr. Floyd says cracking his knuckles.
The teens break into laughter as Dr. Floyd gets up and boxes the air.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“They destroyed another one,” the armored figure says as he sits in pure darkness, “But that doesn’t matter.”
He looks down at his hands, which are now swirling with dark purple energy.
“The more monsters they destroy,” he says, “Buy me more and more time to regain all of my powers.”
He stands up, now surrounded by dark energy, and turns to a huge, heavily-armored door.
“Soon, I, Phantom, shall free my master from his slumber, but I shall need that database. Fortunately for me, I have a prison full of the universe’s most dangerous criminals and the ‘Armageddon Force.’”
As he finishes the sentence, he fires a huge blast at the door, shattering it into a mess of millions of pieces.
“I think it’s time the Power Rangers met the Armageddon Force’s Five Scouts!”

Aaron…
All my life, I just wanted to be a normal kid, but I never could because of my parents. I mean how could I be, especially when everyone knows who I am and who my parents are. It wasn’t until I met Mitchell and Nick, that I finally felt even the slightest bit normal. Even then, I was constantly watched by people who knew my parents, especially at school. Now I am the Red Power Ranger and am responsible for keeping this city safe. Now if you ask me, being a Power Ranger doesn’t really qualify as being normal, but it does make me special. Then again, maybe it’s normal for me to be unusual or abnormal.
Chapter 5: Fight or Flight
After a week of hard work, difficult research, and rigorous training, the teens finally got an opportunity to return to their homes. Dr. Floyd thought it was best for the teens to spend some time with their families and so that they could gather some of their things before they began living in the doctor’s lab. Both JD and the doctor had decided that if they let the teens live in his lab, it would overall improve their response time should a problem arise.
“I’m home!” Aaron loudly says as he enters his house, “Figures; no one’s home.”
He then walks up the stairs and heads for his room, turning on the TV as he walks by it. He grabs his remote and changes it to “Family Guy” as he sets a suitcase on his bed. Aaron takes his time as he packs his clothes, magazines, toiletries, and some of his favorite DVD’s and video games to keep him entertained during his downtime. He finishes packing and heads down to the kitchen to grab some of his favorite snack foods and drinks. As he’s packing food, the door opens; it’s his dad.
“Hello?” Mr. Bayo asks as he sets down his sports bag, “Is that you Aaron?”
“Yeah it’s me,” Aaron replies as he sets a bag of Funions in his bag.
“So you’re finally back?”
“Yeah, but I only here to pick up a few things.”
“Why don’t you stay here a little longer?”
“My friends and I are going to be working with a scientist named, Dr. Floyd, and we will be helping him with his experiments.”
“So why do you have to leave?”
“Well, he’s letting us live in his lab so we can experience hands-on what some field experiments are like.”
“Is that the truth?”
“Yeah, that’s what’s going on.”
Aaron’s father looks at him for a second examining his face.
“Well I’m not quite sure what that means, but good luck,” Thomas Bayo says as he heads for the stairs.
“Alright Dad,” Aaron says as he zips up his bag and heads for the garage.
Aaron tosses his car keys up into the air and catches them as he hops into his F-150. He starts up the car, going over things in his head just to make sure he grabbed everything he needed. Just as he is backing out of the driveway, his dad runs out of the house, gesturing for Aaron to lower his window. Aaron sees him and opens up his window and waits for his dad to walk up to the truck. His dad walks up to him, appearing to have something in his hand and says,
“Hey you almost left before I could give this to you.”
“Really?” Aaron asks, “What is it?”
Aaron’s father opens up his hand, revealing a shark tooth necklace.
“This necklace belonged to your grandfather,” Mr. Bayo says, “He got the tooth from a shark that tried to attack him.”
“So why are you giving it to me?” Aaron asks.
“Well he thought it brought him good luck, so maybe it’ll bring you good luck.”
“Erm…thanks?”
“Be sure to take care of it.”
“Okay, see you later dad.”
“Good bye.”
“Say hi to Mom and Jeremy for me!”
Mr. Bayo waves as his son drives down the road and turns the corner. Aaron watches his father as he puts the shark tooth necklace around his neck and continues on driving.
“Well time to head to the lab,” Aaron says to himself as he continues down the road.
Before he can even spot the corner he needs to turn at, he notices some explosions down the road. He immediately stops the car and tries to see what is going on. He carefully scours the area up ahead and notices five figures flying around and blasting things.
“Just what I needed to see,” Aaron says as he gets out of the car, “Flying bastards.”
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his Terminus Morpher.
“Let’s Ride!” he yells as the suit and armor envelope his body. “Bring it!”
He dashes forward with his Terminus Spear already drawn and attacks some of the Hydrogons wreaking havoc on the ground. The five flying creatures notice the Red Ranger destroying their troops and immediately fly down to him. The five creatures land in front of Aaron, who immediately dashes at them in an attempt to strike. The one in the center catches his spear and throws him backward. As he pulls his face off the pavement, he looks at the five noticing their bird-like appearance.
“Wh-who are you?” Aaron says as he looks at the five birds.
“He doesn’t know?” the one on the far left says.
“Well we have been gone a while,” the one to his right says.
“We are the five scouts of the Armageddon Force!” the one in the middle says.
“The Armageddon Force?” Aaron asks in shock.
“Yes that’s right,” the middle one says, “We are the group that scouts planets before our superiors show up.”
“Well I’m the Red Ranger, and I will be kicking your ass today!”
He leaps at them again, his spear clashing against their blades as he continues to fight them. One of them forces his spear upwards, while the other four simultaneously strike him. Aaron falls down to a knee, using his spear for support. He tries to calm his breathing as the sweat rolls down his face. He blocks out all sound, even the five’s laughter. A gentle breeze flows past him, he stands, ignoring the five’s laughter and insults. Aaron charges his spear and hurls a huge tornado of red energy at them, creating a huge explosion.
“Did it,” Aaron says as he drops back down to his knee.
“You did what?” a voice says.
Another breeze blows through the battlefield, clearing the smoke. Much to Aaron’s disappointment, the five hover above the crater left by his attack.
“Allow us to show you true power,” the scouts said in unison.
They then joined hands and began spinning, creating a huge vortex. Aaron could feel their growing power pushing down on him like a dozen bags of sand. The vortex heads for Aaron, who is paralyzed by the pressure of their power.
“Is this the way I die?” Aaron thinks to himself, “No it can’t! I won’t allow!”
An aura of red energy appears around him and fluctuates wildly.
“The ones who will die,” Aaron says aloud, “ARE YOU!!!”
He hurls an enormous tornado of red energy right at the vortex, making the two collide. Energy flies off left and right as the two vortexes struggle to engulf the other one. Aaron intensely holds his spear, keeping the energy flowing into his tornado, but he is still being overpowered. The red tornado is being pushed back by its opponent and is moving towards Aaron fast, but he can’t retreat. If he tries to run, the vortex will hit him for sure, but if he doesn’t it will still hit him. Right as the vortex is about to strike him, he notices it becoming stronger, allowing him to push the other vortex back. He looks to both sides and sees his fellow rangers, weapons drawn, standing beside him.
“We’re here Aaron,” Eve says as they push the vortex away.
The five scouts burst from the vortex, crashing into the side of a building and falling to the ground. The Terminus Rangers cautiously walk up to the scout’s seemingly lifeless bodies.
“Are they dead?” Eve asks.
Before anyone can answer, the air becomes heavy again, forcing the rangers to their knees. A huge figure clad in black armor can be seen approaching in the distance. The rangers, paralyzed by their enemy’s power pressure, try to speak to each other, but the pressure blocks even the sound of their voices. However, the expression of shock and fear is clear. With no other options, the rangers wait for their fate to be carried out. The armored figure, now mere feet in front of them, touches each one of the scouts, somehow reviving them and seemingly increasing their power.
“Next time you fail,” the figure says as he walks away, “You’ll stay dead.”
The scouts stand, brandishing their swords as they prepare for battle once more.
“Doesn’t matter if there’s five of you or a hundred,” one of them says, “You’ll still lose!”
“Really?” Mitchell says.
“You ready to finish this Aaron?” Nick asks in anticipation.
“Yeah,” Aaron says, “Let’s go.”
As the words leave Aaron’s mouth, the rangers strike their fighting poses, but a voice stops them from rushing in and striking their opponents.
“Wait,” a voice says from inside their helmet, “It’s me JD.”
“Well what do you want?” Amber asks impatiently.
“I have some presents to help you fight these guys. I think you’re gonna like ‘em.”
Five different-colored boards fly out of the sky and land in front of the rangers.
“These are the T-Boards,” JD says as the boards hover in front of the rangers, “Take ‘em for a spin, they should help.”
The rangers jump onto the boards and holsters materialize on both sides of each ranger.
“And those are the T-Guns; they have a gun and dagger mode. Have fun!”
Both the scouts and the rangers on their T-Boards shoot into the skies, signaling the beginning of their aerial battle.
“C’mon,” one of the scouts says, “Let’s see if you can keep up with that shitty board of yours!”
“Shitty eh?” Aaron says “Let’s see if it’s shitty when my daggers are through your gut!”
Aaron changes his guns to dagger mode and slashes at his opponent’s chest, sending a cascade of sparks down his helmet’s visor. The feathered foe briefly falls out of the air, taking advantage of this opening, Aaron dives down firing his guns at his foe, but at the last second, the scout slices Aaron’s chest. The blow sends Aaron flying away, allowing the scout to land five powerful slashes in succession. The scout goes in for another attack, but is stopped by a spear, shining with a red energy, piercing his feathered chest. He looks down at the spear that pierced him as he falls to the ground, but feels a presence beneath him. Aaron flies up from underneath him and slashes him with both daggers, as he flips off of his board, landing and striking a pose.
The other four scouts fall to the ground, their bodies smoking from the rangers’ slashes and blasts. The rangers stand their ground, in case the bastards come back to life once again. The bodies swirl in red and purple energy and begin fusing into a single orb.
“What the fuck is going on this time?!” Mitchell yells as the sky goes black.
“The scouts have served their purpose,” a menacing female voice says, “They have gauged the abilities and powers of this planet’s warriors. Now that their purpose has been fulfilled, I, the Sword and Shield of the Armageddon Force, shall destroy you and your pathetic planet. My name is Myves and I am the one who will destroy you!”
The five rangers fire a barrage of blasts at Myves in an attempt to destroy her before she can attack, resulting in a huge explosion. Aaron sighs in relief at the sight of the explosion, but is horrified by what he sees as the smoke clears. An enormous ball of metal is exactly where Myves once stood. The metal folds away into a small, circular shield on Myves’ left arm, as she arrogantly laughs at the feeble attempt to destroy her.
“Is that the best you guys can dish out?” Myves asks as she raises her right arm, “Well have a taste of my power!”
Myves’ right arm transforms into a huge cleaver-like blade and lifts it into the air as it swirls with purple energy.
“NOW DIE POWER RANGERS!!!”
SIDENOTE: I would like to apologize for the HUGE delay on the release of this chapter and if this chapter isn't as good as some of my previous ones. I was up to my neck in homework. Also, don't expect Ch. 6 next week as my computer is having a LOT of problems. Also, the next chapter might be typed in a different tense.

Chapter 6: Love and Hate
Myves raised her transformed arm into air as it began to violently swirl with dark purple energy, bringing those near it to their knees. The ground trembled as she finally concentrated the energy into her cleaver-like blade. The rangers were paralyzed with fear as they stared at their death.
“NOW DIE POWER RANGERS!!!” Myves yelled as she slammed her blade into the ground, sending a powerful wave of energy at the rangers.
“GET YOUR ASSES OUT OF THERE!!!” JD yelled into their communicators.
The rangers quickly leaped onto their boards and sped away from the attack, narrowly escaping it.
“Cheese and asscrackers!” Mitchell yelled in utter terror as he gazed at where he and the other rangers had once stood.
A huge crater had been created by her attempt to destroy the rangers and standing in front of it was a female figure clad in what resembled a set of very old, medieval armor.
“Just imagine if it had hit us!” Eve said, unable to take her eyes off the destruction.
“Doesn’t take much imagination to figure that one out,” Aaron said as he stood in awe of their opponent’s strength.
“Screw us!” Nick said letting his anger boil over, “Imagine what she’ll do to the city!”
“We have to do something!” Amber shouted in agreement.
“No,” JD interrupted over the ranger’s communicators, “You guys aren’t prepared to fight someone that strong yet. If you try, you guys might-“
“Like Nick said,” Amber said as she drew her sword, “SCREW US!!!”
As the words left her mouth, she was already speeding towards Myves, who confidently smiled as the pink ranger flew towards her. For her, killing this ranger would be a walk in the park, especially after she sensed all the rage in the pink ranger’s heart.
“GET HER OUT OF THERE!” JD commanded as Amber’s and Myves’ blades met.
Amber violently slashed at Myves, who was easily parrying each and every one of her attacks with her left arm that had transformed into a shield. Myves, who was now toying with Amber, kicked her into the steaming crater and slowly walked in afterwards. As she walked in, her left arm transformed back into its normal state as her right arm transformed back into a giant cleaver. Seeing this had given Amber an idea. She gripped her sword once again and dashed at Myves. Amber and Myves clashed blades, but Myves was steadily gaining the upper hand. Amber then pulled out her T-Gun and fired it several times into Myves’ armored stomach, putting a hug, gaping hole in it.
“YOU BITCH!” Myves screamed as she kicked Amber away and removed almost all of her virtually destroyed armor.
With almost all of her armor gone, with the exception of her arms, Amber was surprised by what she saw. Despite her somewhat hardened look and dirty-looking clothes, Myves was a very attractive woman, with long silver hair, bright blue eyes, and rather large breasts. She then proceeded to rip off the bottom portion of her rag-like clothing and used it to tie her hair up into a ponytail so that she could keep her hair out of the way.
“It was slowing me down anyways,” Myves said, “But now you will die!”
Myves then slashed her blade at Amber, which sent a wave of energy at her. The attack knocked Amber off her feet and sent her sword flying out of her hands, leaving her completely open and defenseless.
“Well?” Myves said as she walked towards Amber, “What now? Do you give up?”
“Just do it,” Amber said in disgrace.
“Pick up your sword,” Myves requested, “I will not defeat an unarmed opponent.”
As the words left her mouth, she heard something coming towards her. She quickly jumped back and watched as the red ranger jumped off his board.
“Wow,” Aaron said sounding rather impressed, “Refusing to kill an unarmed opponent? That’s a bit different from the others we’ve faced. You’d have to be my favorite so far.”
Aaron then raised and pointed his spear at his opponent.
“Beautiful and fair. You’re my kind of woman Myves!”
Myves was caught off guard by the compliment and blushed after she heard it, doing her best to hide it.
“If we weren’t trying to kill each other at the moment,” Aaron continued, “Maybe we could go see a movie together.”
Myves, whose face was now redder than Aaron’s helmet, turned her face away from Aaron in another attempt to hide it.
“Now I’d love to stick around a bit longer and chat with a lady as lovely and pretty as you, but I gotta’ go. I’ll see you next time you blow a hole in the city!” Aaron said as he lightly chuckled.
Amber and Aaron both jumped on their boards and flew away, heading for Dr. Floyd’s lab. Meanwhile Myves stood there, still blushing. No one had ever called her beautiful before, not to mention an opponent. She stood there and watched the red ranger fly off into the sky, unable to take her eyes off of him. Things had just gotten complicated for Myves, especially now that she was in love with the Red Ranger.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I am very disappointed in you Myves,” Phantom said as he was looked right at her.
Despite the scolding that she was now receiving, Myves couldn’t help but think about the red ranger. No one had ever complimented her looks or personality before.
“Myves!” Phantom shouted in a voice that filled the entire room.
“I am sorry,” Myves half-heartedly replied. “The pink ranger had damaged my armo-“
“The destruction of that rusty suit of armor is not an excuse!” Phantom quickly snapped back. “You let those troublesome rangers get away and that is not something I can easily forgive!”
“You are forgetting who you’re dealing with Aquos!” Myves yelled back. “I was part of the Armageddon Force long before your own father was born!”
Myves knew she had struck a bit of fear into him as he sat there in silence.
“You forget,” Myves continued, “That I know what you really are and the fragility that goes with it. Just because my summoning was of your doing does not mean I will refrain from exploiting the weaker, more fragile side of you!”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Phantom said, slamming his fist down on the armrest of his throne.
“Oh I would and I will if I get the chance. Just remember that you need me much more than I need you. Are we clear?”
“Yes Myves.”
“Now where is that new armor you promised me?”
“It’s right here.”
Phantom snapped his fingers, calling forth a huge slab of steel. The slab opened up and steam rose from it revealing two armored sleeves, a pair of armored boots, a metal head band, and what Myves later christened the “Battle Bikini.” All of the armor was a bright white with some black and silver added in.
“It’s just as you requested Myves,” Phantom said allowing Myves to look at the armor before he continued, “A bit revealing isn’t it?”
“Is there a problem?” Myves replied letting Phantom know that she was annoyed by his comment.
“No.”
For Myves, it was important that the armor be lightweight and easy to fight in. The whole “revealing” part of her outfit was intended to show off the beauty that the Red Ranger had complimented her for. Now all that was left for Myves to do was to lure out her red love. She walked over to the armor in order to examine each part. After she decided that the suit was to her satisfaction, she began to remove her clothes, but she was soon interrupted by Phantom.
“Surely you don’t intend to change into your new armor here?” Phantom said with his head turned away from her.
“Fine,” Myves replied walking away taking the armor with her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Just what were you thinking?” JD shouted as he scolded Amber. “You could’ve been killed out there!”
“And even more could’ve died if I hadn’t done something!” Amber sharply yelled back.
“If you had died then who could’ve stopped her?”
JD’s word struck a nerve and Amber, without warning, threw her fist as fast and as hard as she could at JD. To her surprise, JD caught her fist and pushed her away from with seemingly no effort.
“You are a Power Ranger damn it! Start acting like one!” JD said as he easily ignored the pain in his hand.
“That’s right!” Amber retorted, “I am a Power Ranger, but you are not!”
Silence filled the room as Amber uttered those words.
“That’s right I said it!” Amber continued, “All you do is sit back and watch us fight! You don’t do shit!”
JD just stood there, silent. For a while now, he has been wondering what he did to help them. Sure he created the powers and the tech that goes with it, but to him that wasn’t enough. In JD’s eyes and now Amber’s too, he was useless. JD had tried to make that realization less painful by reassuring himself that what he has done so far was adequate and it would work, but it would only take a little while before he felt useless again.
“I may not be a Power Ranger,” JD slowly said, breaking the silence, “But you are!”
Aaron, Mitchell, Nick, Eve, and Amber all stared at JD, whose fists were now clenched.
“I entrusted you five with the responsibility of protecting Aquain City. No, that ain’t right. Protecting the world and so far it seemed like it was the right choice. I trusted you five with Earth’s safety. THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS TRUST ME!”
The room was once again filled with silence as JD raised his hand and pointed it at the five rangers.
“I may not be a Power Ranger, but just because I’m not doesn’t mean I wouldn’t hesitate to fight by your side!”
JD allowed a few moments to let the words sit in before he grabbed a small canister and walked out of the lab.
“Don’t you ever think I would hesitate to help you guys!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myves was now finished with putting on her new armor that she had been given. One of the first things she noticed were the new sword and shield that came with the armor. Instead of her body becoming the weapon, parts of her armor transformed.
“Well that’s better,” Myves said summoning her new, claymore-like sword. “It always looked so hideous when my body transformed. I bet that he’ll like this better.”
Myves then headed for the door of her dark, metal chambers. Before she left, she stopped and gazed at herself in the mirror. She twirled around a few times and struck some poses before giggling to herself. She looked one last time in order to sure everything was okay before she adjusted the bra-like potion of her suit, making her already large breasts look even larger. She struck one last pose before she said,
“The Red Ranger is going to love this! Now I just need to call him out.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rangers silently stood around the lab with JD’s words still echoing in their heads. Out of all of them, Amber was affected by his words the most. All this time she had thought that he was just barking orders, but he was actually doing what he judged was best for their safety.
“He was right,” Amber finally said, “If we hadn’t gotten out of there when we did, we would have died.”
“Yeah that Myves was a lot stronger than most of the others we’ve faced,” Nick commented.
“She had a devastating attack,” Mitchell said.
“And an impenetrable shield,” Eve added, finishing his sentence.
“She’s definitely the most beautiful opponent we’ve faced,” Aaron said.
The other four rangers all stopped and looked at Aaron in disbelief.
.
“What?” Aaron cluelessly responded.
“That aside,” Amber said, “She doesn’t seem all that bad.”
“That’s right!” Aaron added. “She refused to kill Amber because she was unarmed.”
The lights in the lab turned red as the alarms went off signaling that the city was being attacked.
“It’s Myves guys!” Dr. Floyd shouted from across the room.
“Well let’s see how much good is in your girlfriend,” Mitchell said jokingly.
“LET’S RIDE!!!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the past hour, JD had just been driving around as he tried to get his mind off of things. For the past hour his mind had been consumed by Amber’s words and his own doubts about his importance to the team. JD then decided to make his drive useful by picking up some groceries before he headed back to the lab.
“As usual,” JD says as he pulls into the parking lot, “All the good parking spots are taken.”
JD finds a parking spot in the shade right in front of the place where all the carts are kept. He slowly takes a deep breath wondering what he’s even going to buy, when something catches his eye; a woman. JD watched as the 5’8” redhead was carefully putting the carts away. Despite the ugly brown pants/white shirt/ green apron uniform that she was wearing, she still seemed beautiful.
“Wow,” JD unknowingly said out loud.
The redhead glanced at JD giving him an innocent look and smile as she waved at him. He replied by smiling and waving back. Wherever she moved, his eyes followed her and eventually the tall beauty decided she’d show him a little something. She walked towards him and stopped twirling and striking a pose. JD grabbed a pad of paper and a pencil and wrote a huge “9” on it and showed it to her, causing her to start laughing.
“What’s with the nine?” the redhead asked as she shot him another smile.
“Well I had to take some points off for that ugly uniform you’re wearing,” JD replied making her laugh once again.
“And what if I wasn’t wearing this uniform?” she asked, still smiling.
“Hey,” JD said as he chuckled a bit, “Isn’t it female policy to wait till you go out with a guy a few times before he sees you naked?”
The two laughed at the joke before JD got out of his VW Bus in order to properly greet this beautiful woman.
“My name is JD Sandoval,” he said with a smile.
“Emily Zamia,” she answered as she smiled once again.
“You know,” JD said, “I normally don’t say this, but I think you’re gorgeous.”
“Well you don’t look too bad yourself,” Emily replied as she looked at the 6’0” man in front of her.
“So did you ever want to I dunno go out sometime?” JD asked.
“Well,” Emil said taking her time to answer, “Ye-“
Before she could answer, a huge explosion in the distance shook the earth, knocking the two of them off their feet. JD quickly rushes over to Emily, making sure she isn’t wounded.
“Are you all right?” JD asks worriedly.
“Yeah, I’m all right” she answers, “How about you?”
“It takes a lot more than to hurt me.”
Emily looked at JD and chuckled just before she passed out. JD gently picked her up and laid her down on a nearby bench, before rushing to his car.
“Right as I’m asking a girl out this happens!” JD groaned, “Now I’m pissed.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Explosions rocked Downtown Aquain City, as hundreds of citizens ran around the street seeking safety. Right in the middle of all of the chaos was Myves, who laughed and smiled as she continued to destroy countless buildings. See, Myves had figured that if she caused enough trouble, the red ranger would eventually show. Just the mere thought of her love arriving made Myves jump with excitement, destroying more and more buildings as her excitement increased. Surely this would get the red ranger to show up.
“STOP!” said a voice from behind her, causing her heart to nearly stop at the thought of it being her red lover.
The smile that had crept across her face quickly faded as she turned around to see where the voice had come from. Instead of seeing the red ranger, she saw a tall man with brown hair who was wearing a light-grey sleeveless shirt and jeans with hand-wraps wrapped around both hands. The sight of the unknown man angered Myves, who let out a blood-curdling scream.
“You’re not the Red Ranger!” Myves said as tears began to roll down her cheeks.
“Red Ranger?” the man asked sarcastically. “I’m JD, pleased to meet you.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Bad news guys,” Dr. Floyd said over the rangers’ communicators, “JD’s fighting Myves by himself.”
“He doesn’t stand a chance!” Eve said worriedly.
“We’ve got to hurry!” Amber said speeding up her board.
Amber…
This is all my fault. Because of me, JD could die. When will I learn to control myself? JD has done so much for us and now because of what I’ve said, he’s risking his life. No. I won’t allow it. I won’t allow him to die because of me!------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Normally I’m against hitting a woman,” JD said tugging on his hand-wraps, “But in your case I’ll make an exception.”
JD then dashed toward Myves, leaping into the air before delivering a knee to her face and then kicking off of her. Myves fell back a few feet after being caught off-guard by the young man’s strength. He then delivered a crescent kick to her face and used the momentum of his first kick to spin around and deliver a kick to her side with the same leg. He then landed a series of punches concluded by an elbow to the face before clinching Myves and kneeing her in the stomach. JD attempted to kick her one more time, but this time she caught his leg and threw him against a nearby building which caused a pile of rubble to land on top of him.
“You would’ve been better off not hitting a woman,” Myves said as she walked away.
As she walked away she began to hear the rubble moving making Myves stop dead in her tracks.
“What?” Myves said in disbelief. “It can’t be-“
Finally, JD slowly emerged from the rubble as he dusted himself off.
“If you intend on killing me,” JD said as he walked out of the pile and took a fighting stance, “You’re gonna have to do better than that.”

JD tumbled back after receiving a kick to his ribs, blocking the overhand that followed. In response to his block Myves spun around and hit him with a back hand to his face, which barely fazed him. He then took the hand that struck him, twisted it, and delivered an elbow to her forearm, which would’ve of broken a normal human’s arm. The pain caused her to drop to the ground, clenching her arm as she screamed in agony.
“You bastard!” Myves yelled as she began to stand.
Myves summoned her shield and struck JD with it, sending him flying into the wall near the second-story window of the nearby building. JD hit his back on the wall before falling to the ground, landing on his face. Myves laughed as the satisfaction of her opponent’s defeat slowly filled her mind, but to her surprise, JD began to move.
“How can you even stand after a hit like that?!” Myves asked, making no attempt to hide the shock in her voice.
JD then stood up, blood now rolling down the left side of his face.
“What can I say?” JD said with a light chuckle, “I got one hell of a strong body!”
Myves burst out laughing, clenching her sides.
“What’s so funny?” JD asked.
“You really think that’s going to help you?” She asked sarcastically. “You’re nothing but a normal human!”
“It may not be much,” JD said, looking at his clenched fist as he recalled Amber’s words, “But it’s enough to allow me to keep on fighting!”
JD jumped into the air and delivered a roundhouse kick to her face, forcing her to tumble back. Seizing the opening he created, he jumped up onto her shoulders and drove both of his elbows into her skull. He leaped off of her shoulders, landing in his fighting stance.
“YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!” Myves yelled as she grabbed her skull in pain.
As JD rushed in for another attack, Myves noticed the blood running down her face. Surely the red ranger would hate her if she had blood all over her face. This revelation made Myves start crying.
“M-my face…” Myves whimpered before it changed into a blood-curdling scream, “My face is ruined!”
The thought of the red ranger being repulsed by her bloody face, drove Myves berserk. Thirsty for revenge, Myves quickly summoned her blade and slashed at JD with all her might. JD quickly rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the would-be fatal blow. He hesitantly pulled out the metal canister that he had taken from the lab and opened it up.
“I guess I have no choice,” JD said, pulling the object out of the canister and bring it up to his chest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several Hours Ago…
“Are the new ranger powers ready yet?” Dr. Floyd asked as he casually stroked his beard.
“Not quite yet,” JD responded looking at a strange, crimson and black triangle.
“What’s causing the delay?” Dr. Floyd said.
“Well unlike the other five rangers, this one doesn’t have a Power Limiter, so it might take a bit longer than the others.”
“Power Limiter?”
“It’s the failsafe in all power suits that keeps the suit from using too much power.”
“Why does it need one?”
“Tell me Dr. Floyd, what happens when you put too much air in a balloon?”
“It pops.”
“Exactly, the balloon pops. It’s the same principle. If the suit uses too much power, strain will be too much for the person’s body which could result in injury or even death. So the suits must have this failsafe in order to protect the user.”
“I see. So why are you making one without a limiter?”
“I theorize that if you remove the limiter, then it will allow the ranger to operate at the zenith of its capabilities.”
“What about the strain?”
“Well I figure if you control the power output, then you might be able to keep strain to a minimum, but judging by my estimates the initial strain may still be too harsh.”
“So aside from all that, why isn’t it ready?”
“Well we still can’t control the power output. So if somebody tries to use it there’s a ninety percent chance they’ll die.”
“What about the other ten percent?”
“Not sure. It could work or it could blow up, but either way it’s too big of a risk.”
“What if we have to use it before it’s ready?”
“If it comes down to that, then we’ll have to just hope for the best.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Is this really my last option?” JD thought to himself as he looked at the incomplete morpher.
JD finally took his eyes off the morpher and looked straight forward at the berserk Myves, who was madly dashing towards him.
“I don’t care,” JD finally said aloud as he looked back at the morpher, “If there’s something you can do, do it. Don’t think twice about or you may never get another chance. Well here’s my chance and I’m taking it!”
In JD’s mind, time seemed to almost stop as he took his eyes off the morpher and uttered the words that would most surely seal his fate.
“Let’s Ride!” JD said, bracing himself for whatever may happen.
The morpher sparked a few times before it began glowing. A huge jolt of pain shot up JD’s arms causing him to wince a little. Then shards of energy splintered out of his morpher and formed strange, silver gauntlets on JD’s hands and forearms. The morpher then floated down to where his belt buckle was and formed a crimson and black belt. He could feel the immense strain on his body, but was able to quickly ignore it.
“Hey,” JD said, letting the cheer in his voice show a bit, “It worked!”
“You think those shiny gloves will help you?!” Myves yelled in rage as she ran towards JD.
“I have no idea how long this’ll last,” JD said cockily, “So I guess I’ll just have to finish this quickly!”
Myves slashes her blade downward at JD, who easily caught her blade one-handed and easily tossed her to the side. JD then leapt into the air and landed a series of punches on Myves’ shield, punching a hole in it. Myves, who was caught completely off guard by the damaging of her shield, slowly crawled away from JD. She feared him now and it was obvious, but JD had learned from all the Anime he had watched that there was never enough time in a battle to exploit his opponents fear. He said he was going to finish it quickly and that was what he was going to do.
JD walked up to Myves and picked her up by her throat. He then punched her several times in her bare stomach, causing blood to roll out of the corners of her mouth. JD absolutely detested fighting without mercy, but he had to defeat her before his partial-morph disappeared. He then slammed her into the ground repeatedly until he thought she was finished. As he walked away the morpher short-circuited, causing an immense feeling of pain to shoot throughout his body. He dropped to the ground, screaming in agony. Finally, the gauntlets and the belt shattered away into pieces and reforming into the morpher.
“Looks like I finished just in time,” JD said as he slowly passed in and out of consciousness.
He then heard several footsteps running towards him.
“JD?” one of the voices said worriedly, “JD are you okay?!”
The other rangers had finally arrived.
“Holy shit!” Mitchell said as he looked at Myves, “Did JD do that?”
“Whatever he did,” Nick said, “He sure did a number on himself. I mean just look at his arms.”
Nick’s statement drew their attention to JD’s badly burned arms, which were bleeding profusely as if it had been squeezed out. They were burnt so badly, it appeared as if his arms were engulfed in flames.
“Hey,” Eve said, pointing to the steaming object in his right hand, “What’s that?”
“Is that a mor-,” Aaron said until he was interrupted by a woman groaning.
“I-i-is that you my love?” the voice said.
“Myves!” Aaron exclaimed.
“Is it really you my love?” Myves asked once again as she walked towards the red ranger.
“My love?” Aaron responds, questioning what he had just heard, “After what you just did to my buddy here, you’re lucky if you even so much as got a single date!”
“H-he was y-y-your friend?” She said as she stumbled backwards.
“Yeah,” Aaron answered, “And you kicked the shit out of him!”
Myves then grabbed her head and screamed as her body started to glow. Armor covered her body as she grew to a gigantic size.
“You know what time it is guys!” Dr. Floyd yelled over the communicator.
“T-BUBBLES ACTIVATE!” The rangers shouted out in unison.
The rangers leaped into their pods, materialized their zords, and formed the Neptune Megazord and summoned the Shark Blade.
Myves quickly vanished, reappearing behind the megazord and then slashed it four times in succession before kicking it away. The rangers struggled to get up as Myves impatiently waited for them to get back on their feet. As soon as they stood up, Myves once again struck the rangers several times.
“…uys? Guys? It’s me,” a very weak voice said, accompanied by labored breathing.
“JD is that you?” Nick asked.
“Yeah,” JD painfully replied, “Activate the Dolphin Barrier!”
“Got it!” Aaron replied.
“And guys?” JD added, “Take her down.”
The rangers hit the button and strange particles began to form a shield. Myves did not waste any time as she attacked again. The megazord parried the blow and knocked Myves away, slashing back with the blade. Myves quickly recovered and attacked again, but the rangers, using Myves’ own momentum, swung her into the nearby ocean. The rangers followed her in and slashed her twice in the chest.
“Let’s finish this!” Mitchell said as the megazord took its stance.
A huge wall of water appeared behind Myves, quickly making heading towards her. The megazord then shot through the water like a giant torpedo, with energy slowly building up in the blade.
“TSUNAMI STRIKE!” the five rangers said in unison, as the megazord released its energy and slashed Myves square in the stomach.
“Wipeout dude,” Nick said, quickly getting what he guessed was strange looks from the other four.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rangers stood on the beach where Myves, who was bleeding profusely, laid unconscious.
“I say we finish her!” Amber violently suggested as she drew her sword.
“We can’t just kill her like that,” Eve disagreed.
“Why not?”
“Because she had the chance to kill you, but she didn’t.”
“I hate it when you’re right.”
The rangers powered down as JD slowly lumbered over to where the others were gathered.
“You know she isn’t all that bad,” Aaron said, “Maybe if we help her, she could help us.”
“Are you crazy?” Mitchell asked in disbelief, “She nearly killed JD!”
“Most of these injuries were my fault,” JD interjected in a cold voice, “She was mentally unstable because of her love for Aaron. She may have valuable information and Aaron can get it.”
“Who knows, maybe she could become a useful ally,” Aaron added.
“Maybe,” JD said, “You guys take her back to the base and have Doc take care of her.”
“Where are you going?” Nick asked, “What about your injuries?”
“It’s just a few burns,” JD replied as he pulled out his cell, “Besides I have a call to make. Emily?”
“How can he even move?” Mitchell asked after JD was out of earshot.
“I don’t know,” Nick answered, “But I think that Myves isn’t the only one with Valuable information.”
“There’s something he isn’t telling us,” Eve said in agreement, “But we shouldn’t worry about that right now.”
“Let’s head back,” Aaron said with Myves in his arms.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eve…
Something definitely isn’t right here. The five of us have only known JD for a couple of years now and none of us even knew he was capable of things like this. He told us that he had been prepared for this, but he never really told us why. We are fighting an enemy we know very little about and we kill them each time they appear. Hopefully Myves will be able to tell us what we need to know, but I don’t like this one bit.

Mitchell…
I can’t believe we’re only a couple of days away from the beginning of August. I mean we’re this close from the beginning of the end of summer! You could say that our summer will be “terminal” in just a couple days. I can’t believe that I’ve been a Power Ranger for a little over a month now. I mean, a month ago my idea of a “big responsibility” would’ve been taking care of my neighbor’s cat for a week (Mr. Nibbles you shall be missed) or something like that. Now I’m in charge of saving lives and defending our city, but then again I still can’t keep a clean room. The only bad thing is that things have been getting pretty serious around here and I don’t really like it.
“So how are your arms healing up?” Nick as Dr. Floyd put fresh bandages on JD’s arms.
“There healing up just fine,” JD answered as he slowly moved his hands, “It’s just bit itchy, but that just means it’s healing.”
“You sure did a number on yourself,” Nick said in response.
“But what the hell were you thinking?” Dr. Floyd asked as he purposely wrapped JD’s bandages a bit too tight. “Didn’t you say it was too dangerous to use that morpher?”
“Yeah I did,” JD said, pulling his arms away from Dr. Floyd. “If the morph had been complete who knows what could’ve happened.”
“What’s even more surprising than the fact it didn’t kill you,” Dr. Floyd continued, “Was the fact that you were even able to fight under that strain. Didn’t it hurt when you fought?”
“Actually,” JD said thinking about his fight, “It didn’t really bother me.”
“Well that’s interesting,” Dr. Floyd thought aloud as he stroked his beard.
JD stood up and put on a white t-shirt, being very careful to avoid reopening any of his wounds.
“It should take awhile to repair the morpher,” JD said as he fixed his hair, “But it will take even longer to complete.”
JD sat back down out at the computer and resumed his work on the morpher. Meanwhile, Mitchell was out at Ernie’s Juice Bar just kicking back and sipping a Strawberry Banana Smoothie and listening to “In the End” by Linkin Park. He drowned out the noises of the nearby street by raising the volume and losing himself in his own thoughts.
“Nick’s busy helping Dr. Floyd and JD,” Mitchell thought to himself, “Aaron’s watching over Myves, and the girls are out shopping. It’s sad to say, but I actually wish that a monster would attack right now.”
He leaned back in his chair and put his feet up on the table before he said something out loud,
“Well I guess this’ll have to do.”
“Hey are you even listening?” Ernie asked in a very loud voice.
“Oh I’m sorry,” Mitchell answered as he yanked the ear buds out of his ears, “What were you saying?”
“Never mind,” Ernie said a bit disheartened, “Would you like a refill?”
“Sure.”
Ernie picked up Mitchell’s mostly empty glass and walked off. Mitchell put his ear buds back in and resumed the song he was listening to.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile at the Aquitian Ruins…
“These rangers are really starting to piss me off!” Phantom said as he slammed his fist down on the arm of his chair. “I can’t believe it! They took down Myves, but then again she would’ve become a thorn in my side eventually. She was inconsequential, but that aside, that young man that she was fighting bothers me. Shellox show yourself!”
“Yes master!” a large black armored tortoise said as he stepped out of the shadows.
“Just go and cause destruction,” Phantom said sounding rather pissed off. “I don’t care what you do, just make people suffer! Do you understand me?”
“Yes!”
“Now go!”
Shellox quickly went into his spiked shell and shot out of the ruins. Phantom stood up, lifted a huge bladed lance up into the air, and rested it on his right shoulder.
“While he’s out causing problems I can focus on my other priorities.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mitchell checked his watch as he headed out of Ernie’s Juice Bar. He slowly made his way down the street, ignoring most of the people that passed him. It wasn’t until he was halfway down the road when he realized that people were now running past him.
“Finally some action!” Mitchell said as he pulled out his T-Phone. “Let’s Ride!”
The morpher glowed with a golden light as a silver suit materialized, forming a second skin. Shards of green energy circled around his forearms, shoulders, shins, thighs, and torso. The energy hardens into armor as the helmet formed around his head. The visor forms as the suit glows with green energy.
Shellox was in the middle of the outdoor plaza of the Aquain City Mall, destroying many of nearby shops.
“Now that isn’t nice,” Mitchell said brandishing his Terminus Axes. “People shop here y’know?”
“I take it you’re a Power Ranger,” Shellox said, pointing his giant hammer at Mitchell.
“What gave me away?” Mitchell sarcastically asked, “Was it the brightly colored outfit or was it just a hunch?”
“Well aren’t you a funny one?” Shellox yelled as he slammed his hammer into the ground. “Too bad your jokes won’t save you!”
His hammer sent shockwaves through the ground, making Mitchell leap into the air to avoid it. Mitchell seized the opportunity and hurled one of his axes at Shellox. Shellox knocked the axe away, but the green ranger was right there to hit him with his other axe. The hit landed, but Shellox’s shell absorbed most of the damage.
“What?” Mitchell said in disbelief. “Why didn’t it hurt you?”
“You think those puny axes of yours will harm me?” Shellox replied.
“No but this might!”
Mitchell took his two axes and combined them into a huge staff with an axe on each end. He walked towards Shellox as he twirled his Terminus Axe above his head, causing the wind to violently swirl around him. He swung it once, twice, three times, and finally stabbed Shellox, destroying part of his armor. Taking advantage of this opening, Mitchell slashed the armored tortoise several more times before delivering a sidekick to his chest. Shellox picked up his hammer and swung it at the green ranger, who blocked it with his axe, but the force was so strong that it knocked both of them away.
“Is that all you got ranger?” Shellox said as he stood up and walked towards Mitchell with his hammer ready.
“I’m just getting warmed up!” Mitchell eagerly replied as he picked up his axe and dashed at his opponent.
Shellox swung his hammer horizontally at Mitchell, who ducked and attempted to sweep-kick the tortoise. Shellox jumped up, avoiding the kick, and slammed his hammer into the ground, shattering the concrete. Mitchell, who narrowly avoided the attack, attacked Shellox and landed a few more hits on his opponent’s tough outer shell. Before Mitchell could pull his weapon away, Shellox grabbed his axe and punched him several times in the stomach. He picked up his hammer once again and went in for the kill when four other flashes of light appeared before him.
“You okay Mitchy?” Eve said as she kneeled down by Mitchell.
“Didn’t I tell you to stop calling me that?” Mitchell asked as he stood up and grabbed his axe.
“So is this guy tough?” Aaron asked.
“Not really,” Mitchell answered, “But he has a really tough shell so we have to hit him hard.”
“Well I guess we can try out the new weapon that JD gave us,” Nick said pulling out a small T-shaped object and handed it to Mitchell.
“All right!” Mitchell said, hitting a button and throwing it up in the air. “Let’s go!”
The object glowed with light as it multiplied in size and turning into a cannon before landing in Mitchell’s arms. The other four rangers took their positions, to help support the barrel of the cannon. They took aim at Shellox and prepared to fire.
“Terminus Cannon!” Mitchell yelled as he pulled the trigger. “FIRE!”
A blast of green energy, in the shape of a hammerhead shark, struck the tortoise square in the chest, causing him to explode.
“Call the zords JD,” Mitchell said.
“But he hasn’t even…” Nick interjected right as Shellox began to grow. “Never mind send the zords.”
The rangers leaped into the cockpits of their zords and quickly formed the Neptune Megazord. Shellox summoned his hammer and attacked the megazord, which blocked it with the Dolphin Barrier. The megazord slashed the overgrown turtle several times but quickly remembered just how useless attacks like that were. Shellox then dashed at the megazord, which gave the rangers an idea. At the last second, the megazord raised their blade, causing the tortoise to run right into it and driving the blade through his chest. With the overgrown turtle stuck on their blade, the rangers hit a button that caused the mouth on the chest of the megazord to open.
“TERMINUS BLAST!” the rangers yelled in unison, firing a huge blast point blank into Shellox.
The megazord withdrew its blade and began walking away as Shellox dropped to his knees and exploded into a pillar of water.
“Wipeout,” Nick said once again, getting the same type of reaction as last time. “What? I think it sounds cool!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Finally,” Phantom said, “Scimitar, No. 8 of the Eight Destroyers is in my grasp! Now I just need to revive him.”
Phantom took his lance and pointed it at Scimitar. He then charged his lance with dark energy and shot all of it at Scimitar. The energy surged through his body, forcing his eyes to open. The golden armor on his body glowed with dark energy as the large figure began to stand up. Scimitar then allowed the rest of the energy to enter his body before he pulled out a very large scimitar.
“I don’t care who you are,” Scimitar said as he looked at his blade. “My only objective is to revive the Conqueror, so tell me what I have to do.”
“You need to find the Power Rangers and retrieve the database that is in their possession,” Phantom answered, “Kill the Power Rangers and retrieve the database!”
“Fine,” Scimitar said as he lowered his blade, “It will only take a few days for my powers to completely return, but in the meantime I will send an offshoot to fight them.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Where am I?” Myves said as she slowly sat up in her bed.
“Hey there sleepyhead,” Aaron said as she started to come to.
“That voice…” Myves said as she recognized his voice, “Is that you, Red Ranger?”
“Wow you sure called that one and my name is Aaron”
“I can’t believe that it’s you my love!”
“Whoa calm down there Myves!”
Myves leaped onto Aaron and began hugging him.
“Wait what happened to my armor?” Myves yelled as she realized that she was in fact naked.
“That’s why I told you to calm down,” Aaron answered, “We had to remove your armor so you couldn’t attack us when you woke up. In fact, a couple of the others went shopping to find clothes in your size.”
“What am I too big for you? I could always lose weight!”
“No it’s just that…”
“What?”
“We just didn’t have any tops that fit you!”
“So you don’t hate how I look?”
“No I don’t, in fact just the opposite. But if you don’t put on some clothes on soon, I’ll feel like I owe you dinner and a movie.”
“Oh okay.”
Myves walked away and put on the robe that was nearby just as the others entered the room.
“We need some information Myves,” Mitchell said, “And you might be the only one who can give it to us.”
“I’ll tell you everything you need to know,” Myves replied as she looked at Aaron, “But under one condition.”
“And what would that be?” JD asked.
“Aaron has to take me out on a date!” Myves answered as she blushed. “I figure he owes me dinner and a movie anyway.”
“Deal!” JD quickly replied.
Myves giggled when she saw the surprised look on Aaron’s face.
“Women,” Aaron said as he buried his face in his hands.
The others broke out in laughter as Myves hugged Aaron.

Ahah liked the humour mixed in with the action (Myves somehow reminds me of anime girls, dunno why) and the beginning of JD's past comes into the fic...anyone say Devilfish??

Good call on the Anime girl thing. I actually based her personality off of some of my favorite Anime females which include both Orihime and Rukia from Bleach and Kagome from Inuyasha. I tried to make her both funny and serious, but never at the same time as you'll find out in Chapter 9. I'm hoping that someone will guess why she loves Aaron so much.
I read over Chapter 9 last night (yes it's completed) and I hope you will enjoy it as Chapter 9 really starts to kick off the actual story.
As for JD's past, there's a lot that will be revealed in the few chapters and all of it will be...interesting to say the least. Some of it includes a certain Eltarian.

Aaron…
You know, there’s a reason I don’t go out on a lot of dates. I’m not saying that I don’t like Myves because she, unlike a lot of women I know, has one hell of a nice body, but dates are always a bit troublesome. Also, the fact that this chick is head over heels for me does not make this any easier. Right now no one would think that she was the one who was destroying the city a little over a week ago, but right now she just seems so…so…innocent. Does she really hold valuable information? Even if she doesn’t, she might still know something. I guess I just have to tough this out and take one for the team.
“I wanna see that Aaron!” Myves said with glee as she pointed to a movie poster outside the theater.
“Oh please not ‘Lovetopia 3’!” Aaron said as he buried his face in his hand.
“Fine!” Myves replied, crossing her arms and turning away. “I guess you don’t need to know what I know after all!”
“Okay fine,” Aaron muttered as he paid for the tickets.
“Yay!” Myves happily shouted as she hugged Aaron.
The two of them walked into the theater and found some of the best seats they could find. After about ten minutes, the theater went dark, marking the start of the next hour and a half of torture for Aaron. The movie was full of cheesy pickup lines and your traditional cliché ending and even though it was only an hour and a half, it seemed like an eternity to Aaron.
“So what’d you think of the movie?” Myves asked as she hugged him once again.
“Oh it was very…um..,romantic!” Aaron lied adding a false smile just to make sure she bought it. “So what kind of food do you want?”
“Oh I don’t know what kind of food you guys even have. Um…you pick!”
Aaron and Myves then headed off for Ernie’s Juice Bar, where they would begin the second part of their date.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JD continued his worked on the new morpher as the other rangers were enjoying their free time. Mitchell and Eve sat around the kitchen and enjoyed their lunch, occasionally looking up to glance at each other. Meanwhile, Nick was playing “Gears of War” and Amber was in her quarters doing god knows what with the door shut, but one could make a somewhat accurate guess based of the heavy breathing and occasional moan coming from the other side of the door. Dr. Floyd was the only one, aside from JD, who was using his free time to work. The doctor was checking all of the computers and the T-Bubbles to make sure that were all functioning properly.
“So is everything up to snuff?” JD curiously asked, not even bothering to take his eyes off the computer screen.
“Well so far everything looks great with the exception of a couple of scratches on the No. 3 Bubble,” Dr. Floyd replied, “How are things on your end?”
“Well the morpher is repaired and the power controller is nearly one-fourths of the way finished.”
“That’s great.”
“Yeah it is, but I still fear that none of the other rangers will be able to withstand that kind of power. If worst comes to worst, I could…”
“No, we need you here to help run all of these machines!”
“I guess you’re right, but I still don’t like it.”
“You know there’s something different about you, JD.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well despite being a man of science, I’m also very spiritual.”
“So what, did you ‘sense’ something about me?”
“I’m a spiritual person, not a Jedi you moron.”
“I’m sorry. I’m just a bit agitated.”
“That’s understandable. Anyways, when I first met you I was well, overwhelmed by your presence.”
“Which means?”
“Well I have met many people in my lifetime, but your spiritual aura was unlike anyone’s I’ve ever met. Sure, everyone’s is different, but yours was way different.”
“Well I’ve always been a bit ‘different’ than others, but I never thought it went that deep.”
“That’s all I had to say. You can get back to work now.”
“We’ll have to talk about this again some other time. Hmm…I wonder how Aaron’s date is going?”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So she tackled him to the ground and kept beating him until he stopped calling her short!” Aaron said as both he and Myves laughed.
“Your friends sound like they’re a lot of fun,” Myves said giving Aaron a smile.
“She has a nice smile,” Aaron thought to himself before he asked aloud, “So you know who everyone is now right?”
“Yeah,” Myves answered, “Amber is the Pink Ranger, Eve is Cyan, Nick is Blue, and Mitchell is green. So what is your other friend, JD?”
“Oh well he’s the one who made the powers and gave them to us?”
“You mean he made the powers? He must be very smart.”
“Yes he is and you are beautiful,” Aaron replied, copying one of the lines from the movie they saw.
“Oh you’re so sweet Aaron!” Myves said blushing before she kissed him on the cheek.
The two stared into each other’s eyes before they shared a long romantic kiss. When the two of them were finished, Myves blushed and kissed Aaron again. From Aaron’s point of view, the date was going far better than he had expected.
“So who’s your lady friend?” a hearty voice said with a slight chuckle in his voice.
“Oh hey Ernie,” Aaron happily answered, “This is Myves my…”
“I’m his lover,” Myves said completing his sentence with something she heard in the movie they saw.
“Are you now?” Ernie said with his voice breaking, “They grow up so fast!”
“W-wait a minute!” Aaron interrupted, “We haven’t even…”
“No need to be dishonest with me Aaron,” Ernie interjected as he put his hand on his shoulder. “Love is a beautiful thing that must be expressed physically on occasion. Do not worry, I won’t tell your parents about you and your ‘lover.’ It is my duty to keep it a secret as your friend and as a man!”
“But that’s not …” Aaron sighed as he buried his face in his hands, “Oh never mind.”
Myves laughter was interrupted as she sensed something nearby.
“Aaron trouble is coming,” she said.
“Are you sure?” Aaron asked.
“Yes.”
“I’m sorry Ernie but we have to go.”
Aaron and Myves got up from their seats and put money on the table before dashing down the road. When they arrived, they were brought to their knees by their enemy’s power. A large figure, clad in gold and silver armor, stood before them holding a huge scimitar.
“A Destroyer?” Myves asked in disbelief.
“Destroyer?” Aaron asked.
“Well if it isn’t the Sword and Shield,” the figure says. “What are you doing with this human?”
“I’m no ordinary human,” Aaron yelled as he ran towards him and pulled out his morpher. “Let’s Ride!”
The morpher glowed with a golden light as a silver suit materialized, forming a second skin. Shards of red energy circled around his forearms, shoulders, shins, thighs, and torso. The energy hardens into armor as the helmet formed around his head. The visor forms as the suit glows with red energy.Aaron thrust his Terminus Spear at the golden figure, who easily caught the tip of his spear and lifted him up and over his head. Aaron got up and attempted to attack him again, but was punched in the stomach and easily tossed to the side. He then walked over and picked up Aaron by the throat and slashed him across his chest.
“LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!” Myves screamed.
“Well of course,” the figure said smacking Aaron a few times and throwing him over to Myves. “I have a message to deliver and he will be the one who delivers it!”
“Just who is this guy,” Aaron grumbled before spitting up blood.
“His name is Scimitar,” Myves said, “He is one of the Eight Destroyers of the Armageddon Force.”
“What?” Aaron said in disbelief.
“Oh so you remember my name?” Scimitar said, “I’m so touched.”
“What do you want?” Myves asked quickly.
“Why in such a rush?” Scimitar arrogantly asked. “Are you afraid I’ll hurt the power ranger again? See this is why you were so weak Myves! Then again what do you expect from the only human in the Armageddon Force?”
“Tell us the message and leave!” Myves yelled as she pulled Aaron to his feet.
“Fine,” Scimitar said resting his scimitar over his shoulder. “I am just an offshoot. The real me will arrive one week from now.”
Aaron collapsed once again, shocked by Scimitar’s war. If this was an offshoot, just how powerful is the real one?
“I will continue my attacks on the city until I am defeated, just to make sure that you’ll be a worthy opponent for the real me. I will attack again tomorrow. For now, goodbye pathetic ranger.”
Scimitar slashed a wave of energy at Aaron and Myves, before he walked away and faded out of site. Aaron jumped in front of the blast and took it square in the chest, which caused him to dimorph and pass out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ten Minutes Later…
“Aaron?” Myves repeated over and over again as Aaron slowly came to.
“Man that hurt like a mother!” Aaron said realizing that his wounds were gone. “What happened to my injuries?”
“I used some of my powers to heal you,” Myves answered as she quickly gave Aaron a hug.
“Thank you Myves,” Aaron said with a smile, “You really are something. You know that?”
Myves then hugged him again, gently kissing him before bringing him to his feet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Hour Later…
“So how did your date go?” Eve asked taking note Aaron’s arm around Myves.
“It was great,” Aaron replied before he kissed Myves right in front of the others.
“But we have some bad news,” Myves added.
“Holy shit and asscrackers!” Mitchell shouted. “You knocked her up didn’t you Aaron? Don’t you have any boundaries man? It was your first date with and you knocked her up! I thought it took two weeks or so before you could tell, but then again…”
“SHUT UP!!!” everyone yelled in unison.
“One of the Eight Destroyers of the Armageddon Force has been revived,” Myves said with the smile quickly disappearing from her face.
“And what does that mean?” Nick asked as he scratched his head.
“The Destroyers are the part of the Armageddon Force that are sent in to destroy a planet,” Myves answered grimly, “They are among the strongest in the A.F.”
The room was filled with silence as the situation of things smacked the rangers and company in the face. They all knew that their enemy called themselves the Armageddon Force, but they really didn’t know anything about them. Now they faced one of their enemies’ strongest groups.
“Myves tell us everything you know about the Armageddon Force and the Aquitian Ruins,” JD commanded.
“Alright,” Myves replied, “You all might want to sit down somewhere.”
Taking Myves advice, everyone sat down around the table in the kitchen. The conversation was postponed long enough just to give everyone a few moments to get comfortable. Something told the group that they were going to be there for a while.
“The Armageddon Force is basically a group of the universe’s most dangerous, evil, and strongest warriors,” Myves finally said after she had everyone’s attention. “They went around the universe taking over and destroying several planets. At the end of their reign they had enslaved over a hundred planets. They had visited Earth one time before they tried to conquer it and that was when they recruited me. I only know the exact details of everything after I was ‘recruited’, which was during the Third Crusades in the year 1190.”
“So that makes you…” Nick said doing the math in his head, “817 years old?”
“That’s right,” Myves replied, “I was only 17 when I was recruited, but I had been posing as a male in order to fight. They said my skills were invaluable and they threatened to kill my family if I didn’t join them. The one good thing was that as long as I was a part of the Armageddon Force, I would not age at all. I guess now that I’m no longer a part of the A.F. I’ll age at the normal rate. I mean my hair is already starting to return to its original brown than the silver it was. Anyways, sometime in the mid 1800’s we tried to conquer Earth, but we were quickly defeated and sealed in a high-security Aquitian prison here on Earth.”
“So those ruins were once used as a prison like we had thought?” Dr. Floyd asked as he scratched his beard. “That’s very intriguing, but do you know who made it?”
“Yeah,” Mitchell said, “And who exactly defeated you?”
“A group called the ‘Order of Meledon’,” Myves said as she tensed up a bit. “And this was no ordinary group. It was made up of Aquitians, Triforians, Eltarians, and several other alien species. It was headed by one of the most powerful beings the universe has ever known.”
“And who was that?” Aaron said finally becoming a bit more intrigued.
“His name was Zordon,” JD answered cutting off Myves.
“How did you know?” Myves curiously asked.
“I think it’s time I told you guys,” JD said as he looked at everyone’s faces. “I know because Zordon was my great-great-grandfather.”
SIDENOTE: I released Chapter 9 a bit early since I will be going to see "Meet the Spartans" with a few of my friends, Nick, Aaron, and Mitchell. Anyways Chapter 10 is already in the works and should be up next Friday.

The Mid-1800’s…
“The seal has been placed,” the blurred image of an Aquitian said through the Viewing Globe.
“Finally it is done,” a massive, ghostly head said as he sighed.
“You know I’m going to miss you Zordon,” a female voice said.
A beautiful Latina in her mid-twenties stepped out of the darkness of the Command Center.
“As I will you Marina,” Zordon replied.
“Why can’t I remain here with you?” Marina asked.
“Marina you know that you don’t belong here.”
“I know that, but I don’t care.”
“You are a very brave and strong-willed woman and without you we would have surely lost this battle. I love you Marina, which is why I cannot allow you to stay here with me.”
“But if you love me why do I have to leave?”
“As time goes on you will age, and eventually die, but I will live on. You deserve to be happy and with me I know you would never be as happy as you could be.”
“I don’t care! I only want to be with you!”
“This world needs someone like you far more than I do. Eventually, I will be destroyed in order to end a countdown to destruction and when I do, the seal will begin to weaken. The revival of the Armageddon Force is imminent and I need you to be ready for that.”
“But I won’t live that long!”
“You’re right, you won’t, which is why I am entrusting a part of my legacy to you.”
“Part of your legacy? You don’t mean…”
“I do. You are pregnant with my child.”
“But how?”
“We Eltarians don’t necessarily have to ‘mate’ to have children.”
“Zordon…”
“Our descendants shall be the ones that will stop the Armageddon Force. Like I said before, you are a brave and strong-willed woman and I can only hope that you will teach our children to be the same way. I need you to raise this child in the outside world so that it will value what he’s fighting for.”
“Oh Zordon!” Marina exclaimed as she hugged Zordan’s tube. “You can count on me.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silence filled the room as JD’s words finally registered in their brains, hitting the rangers like a ton of bricks. Just what did this mean?
“Wait a minute…What?” Aaron said in disbelief.
“You heard me,” JD answered, “Zordon was my great-great grandfather.”
“But how?” Myves asked scratching her head. “But you’re human
“Mating isn’t necessary for an Eltarian to pass on his genes,” JD answered, “But it is necessary for us hybrids.”
“When were you planning on telling us this?” Eve asked becoming a bit annoyed.
“Would you have believed me?” JD answered showing no emotion in his voice.
Aaron finally let his anger boil over and leapt across the table, pinning JD against the ground.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL US!?” Aaron yelled pulling JD’s face close to his. “We trusted you and you didn’t tell us?!”
“I couldn’t have,” JD coldly answer barely reacting to Aaron’s rage. “It was something you had to come to gradually.”
Rain slowly began to fall from the night sky, with lightning and thunder striking in the corners of the sky. Aaron punched JD repeatedly, slowly drawing the fight outside and into the rain. As Aaron’s rage grew, his punches grew faster and wilder, but JD continued to take each hit. The fact that JD’s face remained emotionless and that he wasn’t he even putting up a fight infuriated him even more. It seemed like JD wasn’t even concerned with the current situation, which made Aaron realize something. JD thought that he deserved it!
“Why’d you stop?” JD asked as the rain fell on his head.
“I won’t fight someone who isn’t willing to fight back,” Aaron sighed, “Even if they think they deserve it.”
“Deserve it?” JD asked as if confused by it. “I was just waiting for you to cool your head.”
“You bastard!” Aaron yelled grabbing his morpher.
“You don’t want to do that,” JD said shaking his head.
“Let’s Ride,” Aaron said coldly.
The red ranger now stood before JD and was ready to fight. Aaron rushed forward and punched JD in the gut, thrusting him into the air and onto the ground several feet away. JD had finally decided that he taken enough. JD closed his eyes and took a deep breath, blocking out everything around him, as his pulse sped up and his body became hot. Suddenly, his eyes shot open, revealing sinister yellow eyes.
“KNOCK IT OFF!!!” JD yelled sending a small shockwave through the air, which revealed a strange silver and black form for a split instant.
The shockwave knocked Aaron off his feet and deactivated his morph.
“Man I hate doing that!” JD groaned as if he was disgusted with himself.
“Wha-what was that?!” Aaron yelled in fear, slowly crawling away from JD.
“This is why I didn’t tell you!” JD answered, grabbing his chest and stepping forward. “You are afraid of what you just saw. No matter how much you deny it, it’s obvious in the way you look. Despite all that you’ve seen and experienced as a ranger, you still weren’t completely ready for this.”
JD pulled Aaron up off of the ground and helped him inside.
“It took my parents thirteen years to tell me this,” JD said as he helped Aaron into a comfortable chair. “I told you in a little over two. I think I’m being pretty damn trusting here guys.”
Myves quickly rushed over to Aaron’s side and began to heal Aaron’s injuries. Nick slowly paced back and forth as if looking for something to say, while Mitchell and Eve sat back down at the table in silence. Finally Amber broke the silence.
“I think I’ve had enough for tonight,” she said before turning and walking away.
“I think we’ve all had enough for tonight,” the doctor agreed.
Myves then helped Aaron up and headed off for his room. The other ranger followed suit after a few minutes, but Dr. Floyd and JD remained.
“So,” Dr. Floyd said curiously, “Why didn’t you tell them?”
“My friends mean everything to me,” JD began, “With them I feel normal. If I told them, I was afraid that I would lose that feeling, but as soon as they became Power Rangers, I knew it was inevitable.”
“So how much haven’t you told them?” Dr. Floyd questioned.
“Quite a bit,” JD groaned, “But I believe telling them all at once would be too much for them to handle. These guys are fighting a battle that dates back at least a thousand years, and we are the ones meant to end it.”
“So that’s what ‘Terminus’ means.”
“Seems you’re catching on. As a scientist you have to have an open mind, which is why you are not stunned by most of this. To most all this would seem impossible.”
“I think impossible flew out the window the moment a bunch of teenagers decided to save the world.”
“Touché Doc.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the midst of the thunderstorm, Scimitar’s offshoot meditated on the top of one of Aquain City’s skyscrapers.
“It is time,” Scimitar said.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Midnight…
Alarms and buzzards went off, awaking the rangers from their not-so-peaceful slumber.
“Where is the signal coming from,” Nick asked.
“It coming from…,” JD began, “That can’t be right.”
“What can’t be right?” Mitchell asked in reply.
“It says it’s coming from just outside the lab,” JD answered.
“What accurate equipment you have,” Scimitar commented.
“It’s him!” Aaron shouted. “It’s the Destroyer!”
“Let’s Ride!” the five rangers yelled.
Silver suits materialized and enveloped the rangers’ bodies as if it was a second skin. Colored shards splintered out of the morphers and formed the armor on the suits. The shards circled the rangers’ heads as they formed their helmets. Finally the visors appeared on the helmets and glowed with bright energy.
The rangers slowly walked out of the lab and faced Scimitar, who was leaning on his massive sword as if he had been waiting for a long time. All of them raised their weapons and slowly circled around the battlefield.
“What are you doing here?” Nick asked angrily.
“As soon as the Red Ranger morphed,” Scimitar replied pointing his sword at Aaron, “I sensed his power and tracked it back here.”
“Well normally we would offer you some food and a drink,” Mitchell joked, “But I think you’re gonna have to leave.”
Aaron and Nick dashed forward, slashing their spear and trident down at Scimitar, meeting his gigantic, golden blade. Sparks flew as the red and blue rangers tried to hold there ground, but the golden destroyer managed to knock them away almost effortlessly. Two axes came flying at Scimitar, followed by Mitchell landing a combo of punches on him, only to be knocked away by his massive fist. Amber and Eve then rushed out and continued the attack, but their shield and sword combo attack proved useless.
“Nothing’s working!” Amber nervously yelled.
“Congratulations Lieutenant Obvious!” Mitchell groaned as he picked up his axes. “You’ve just been promoted to captain!”
“This is no time for jokes!” Nick shouted, raising his trident.
JD saw what was happening and immediately looked at the experimental morpher. Unfortunately, Dr. Floyd saw him look at it and immediately knew what he was thinking.
“Don’t risk it,” said Dr. Floyd.
“I rather risk it than become that,” JD said in disgust.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Dr. Floyd began, “But I have a plan. Myves you come too.”
“But what about Aaron?” Myves fearfully asked before biting her lip.
“You want to help him right?” JD asked grabbing her shoulder.
“Anything for him!” Myves quickly declared.
“Good,” Dr. Floyd said with a smile, “Then come with us.”
The rangers charged at Scimitar and attacked him simultaneously. All of their hits landed, but much to their dismay, none of them did any damage. Scimitar then tapped the tip of his sword on the ground and sent all of the rangers flying. Scimitar slowly paced towards and raised his sword and hurled a wave of lightning at the rangers.
“So this is all you have?” Scimitar asked in disbelief as he looked into the cloud of smoke. “Is this it?”
“Now!” Amber shouted.
The rangers flew out from the smoke on their T-Flyers and zoomed right past Scimitar and into the dark, cloudy sky. Scimitar looked around, trying to anticipate the rangers’ imminent attack. Suddenly, several colored blasts struck him from out of the darkness, but once again he wasn’t phased by their attacks. The shots were followed by a spear, a trident, two axes, and a sword charged with energy flew out of the darkness, penetrating Scimitar’s nearly invincible armor. Eve then came flying out of the darkness and rammed through him with her board, and was followed by the other rangers. Just when he thought it was over he heard a voice from behind him.
“Next time you want to come anywhere near my lab,” Dr. Floyd yelled holding the Terminus Cannon with the help of Myves and JD, “Remember this!”
Dr. Floyd pulled the trigger, firing a huge blast of golden energy directly at Scimitar. The gang was rewarded by the victorious sound of Scimitar screaming out in agony. The rangers gather around the other three and ready their weapons.
“I see,” Scimitar’s offshoot said as slowly rose to his feet, with smoke rising from his charred body. “You are worthy opponents. I won’t have to hold back when I fight you.”
Dr. Floyd, JD, Myves, and the rangers completely ignored Scimitar’s words and readied their next attack. The rangers fused their energy into a single orb and placed in front of the T-Cannon, which was still being held by a rather excited Dr. Floyd.
“Ready?” Dr. Floyd anxiously shouted.
“Ready!” the rest of the gang quickly replied.
The doctor pulled the trigger, firing yet another massive blast of golden energy and absorbing the orb of energy created by the rangers. The absorption of the orb caused the blast to double in size.
“I will truly enjoy fighting you.”
Those were the offshoot’s final words before being engulfed by a huge wall of energy, causing his false body to finally crumble apart.
“YES!” Aaron and JD yelled as they high-fived each other, but both of them quickly turned away from each other.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Next Morning…
Everyone sat around the kitchen table in silence, with all eyes avoiding JD.
“Fine,” JD finally muttered, “I know that I should’ve told when all of this started, but there are some things that I just wanted to keep to myself.”
“That’s understandable,” Aaron commented, “But I think we all deserve to know what the hell that form was when you made me demorph.”
“I understand,” JD answered in compliance, “My family calls it ‘Diablo’ because of its appearance and because of the yellow eyes. It’s similar to your morphed form, but I rather be morphed than be that. I absolutely detest that form.”
“Why?” Eve curiously asked. “It seemed pretty powerful.”
“I’m proud of my Eltarian ancestry,” JD answered, his voice becoming sorrowful, “But when I’m in that form, I don’t feel human. That’s why we call it Diablo. You feel like a demon more than you do a man. I never intended to show that to you, but I had to.”
“Once again,” Mitchell began to ask, “Why?”
“When I enter that form,” JD started, “It allows me to use some of the talents that come with being an Eltarian and since I created these powers, I was able to use my powers to knock you out of morph.”
“So why don’t you fight alongside us in that form?” Amber asked remembering their past conversation. “I thought you said you would fight by our side at whatever the cost.”
“Yeah I did,” JD replied, “But I still don’t have it under control, since I don’t use it much.”
JD looked around the room and realized that it was back. Their trust in him had returned. Now was the time to start being the mentor again. The mentor with no experience!
“However,” JD added, “If you ever morph for a personal reason like that again Aaron, I will strip you of your powers. Understand?”
“Yeah,” Aaron reluctantly answered, “But in return you have to tell us everything you know. It doesn’t have to be all at once, but please tell us.”
“I will,” JD smirked, “But based off of what Myves has told us, we have less than a week to prepare for our fight with Scimitar. If I had to say, I would say the real one is several times for powerful than the offshoot we fought, so we have to be ready. I’m going to be completely honest with you. If you fight him, there is a very large that you will not come back alive.”
“About how big of a chance?” Nick asked.
“About an 85% chance,” JD said before looking away and then back again. “Are you guys sure that you still want to fight?”
“Yes!” the rangers replied sounding both confident and nervous at the same time.
The rangers confidently walked away from the kitchen, but JD remained. He slowly walked over to his personal computer at the lab station, where the new morpher was being made. He looked at the screen that displayed the morpher’s status and was satisfied by what he saw.
“MORPHER B-303 OPERATIONAL”
He picked up the morpher and looked at it a few times, before setting back on the desk.
“How far are you willing to go?” a voice asked in the back of JD’s mind. “How far?”
“Far enough,” JD said as he looked at the morpher again, “Father.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aquitian Ruins…
Scimitar slowly walked into the dark room where Phantom sat.
“So you’re back,” Phantom said as he rose to his feet.
“Yes,” Scimitar replied, “Is my army ready?”
“It took a lot of my energy,” Phantom said, “But unfortunately I could only create five hundred Hydrogons.”
“I should have known that a thousand Hydrogons was too much for you.”
Phantom and Scimitar walked over to the room where Scimitar’s army waited for battle and observed them, before Scimitar finally said,
“After all, you’re only human.”

Three Years Ago…
“What do mean ‘I’m not human’?!” JD yelled throwing his arms in the air.
“We didn’t mean tha-,” JD’s mother, Mary Sandoval, murmured.
“Don’t sugarcoat it Mary,” David Sandoval, JD’s father, interrupted. “You’re only half human, just like your grandfather, uncle, aunt, cousins, brother, sister, and myself.”
“Mathematically and genetically speaking, we can’t all be half-human,” JD argued in confusion.
“Eltarian genes sure are something,” a voice coming from behind JD said. “Aren’t they?”
“Glad you could make it Arik,” David said as he stood up to shake his hands. “You’re the one that understands all this more than any of us.”
Arik Sandoval, like the majority of the Sandovals, was half-human and half-Eltarian. Meaning that he had inherited all of the physical benefits that came with Eltarian genes, but unlike the rest with the exception of JD, he had inherited the mental benefits. If anyone understood what was going on with the Eltarian side of the gene pool, it was him.
“I know it doesn’t make sense,” Arik began, “But the Eltarian genes combine with the human genes and when meiosis occurs, only the Eltarian chromosomes are put into the sex cells. However, the Eltarian chromosomes carry the human genetic information as well as the Eltarian, while still only taking up half of the amount of chromosomes that make up humans.”
“But what the hell are these Eltarians?!” JD asked in anger.
“Well I don’t know all that much about them, aside from what we already know,” Arik continued. “But an Eltarian named Zordon, was the one who made the Power Rangers and he is also our great-great-grandfather.”
“You know what?” JD sighed. “I’m done with all this. This is too much.”
JD walked towards the door, but Arik said something before he left, “You’re different JD and I won’t tell you otherwise. However, you’ll never be able to live your life if you reject it.”
“Arik,” JD said as he looked straight ahead, “You might be older and smarter, but you don’t know shit.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Four Days Ago…
“Let’s Ride!” Aaron yelled holding up a triangular-shaped morpher.
The morpher glowed with a silver light, enveloping Aaron. A silver figure briefly appeared, before it vanished in an explosion of energy that sent Aaron flying into wall behind him.
“He can’t handle it either,” Dr. Floyd noted as he double-checked the data.
“Just like the others rangers,” JD added as he sat back in his chair.
“What about Myves?” Dr. Floyd asked as if he had great idea.
“A week ago she was our enemy,” JD argued, “Or did you forget?”
“How about me?” Doc asked rubbing a beard.
“Sorry,” JD apologized before continuing, “But if five teenagers in great physical condition couldn’t handle it, what makes you think you can?”
“A PhD?”
“Nice try.”
“Well I guess the only other option is you.”
“I realize that.”
“So why don’t you try it? I mean you used it once before and it was incomplete then.”
“Yeah, but I almost killed myself in the process. I die and all of our ranger tech is done for.”
“Then show me how to run it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Explain to me how you make this type if technology.”
“But this could take a while to properly explain.”
“Hey I’ve been helping you make this stuff for a while now. I think I have a pretty good idea of how this all works. All I need is for you to clear some things up.”
“I’m not saying I’ll try it, but I’ll teach you under one condition.”
“And that would be?”
“That you say nothing about this to any of the others.”
“Done.”
“Well then, let’s get cracking.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three Years Ago…
“I can’t believe it!” JD yelled kicking the big orange tree nearby, knocking an orange off of a branch and catching it in his hand. “How’s it going Grandpa?”
“How did you know it was me?” An old but muscular man said.
“You’re the one who showed me this place.”
“Ah you’re right. Must’ve forgotten.”
“Don’t tell me you’re losin’ your memory.”
“Well they say it’s the second thing to go?”
“What’s the first?”
“Don’t remember.”
JD laughed as he began to peel the orange with his hands.
“Why didn’t you tell me Grandpa?” JD asked throwing the pieces of orange peel away.
“Mijo,” his grandfather, Ignacio, started, “This revelation makes you no different than who you were yesterday. This only means that you know more about yourself.”
“So what does this mean for me?”
“Well you’ve always been a just person, JD. Maybe you’ll be able to put that to good use.”
“I love fighting Grandpa, but is it really necessary to fight these guys? I mean I’ve only fought because I liked fighting.”
“Ah, but one who fights without reason is nothing more than a madman who’s swinging his fists.”
“But why does it have to be me? Why not Arik?”
“We all thought it would be, but he’s always lacked something; something that you can’t learn.”
“And what would that be?”
“Heart, he lacked heart.”
“Heart?”
“Why don’t you ever back down from a fight? Why don’t you ever give up on things? Why do you go so far just to do what’s right?”
“I don’t know. I guess I never really thought about it.”
“That’s right. You don’t have to think about it to know what it is you need to do. You don’t have to know what’s at stake for you to do something. You don’t have to know what will happen to you if you do something. You just do it and never look back.”
Ignacio put his hand on JD’s head and adjusted the baseball hat that covered his bald head.
“Intelligence is nothing if you don’t know how to apply it. Both Arik and yourself were graced with the knowledge of our ancestors, but it’s useless if you spend all you’re time thinking and never taking any action! Comprendo mijo?”
“Si abuelo, yo comprendo.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today…
“Take a break!” JD declared with a smile.
“What?!” Everybody confusedly asked.
“That’s right, take a break you deserve it!” JD repeated.
The rangers looked at each other in confusion once again, but this time Nick stepped forward and asked the question everyone else was thinking,
“Alright what’s going on?”
“Yeah,” Mitchell added, “Aren’t we supposed to be preparing for the big fight tomorrow?”
“All the preparations are done!” JD triumphantly declared. “Besides you guys have training all week. You need some R and R so you can be at full strength tomorrow, so that means no crazy parties…Mitchell.”
“Wait a minute, that was one night and someone spiked my dri-,” Mitchell began to protest.
“You seem pretty cheerful man,” Aaron interrupted in an attempt to get to the bottom of the situation. “There’s something else going on. Isn’t there?”
“I’m sorry,” An innocent female voice said from the doorway, “Am I interrupting something?”
Everyone in the room looked at where the voice came from. A tall redhead stood in the doorway, fixing her hair so that it didn’t cover her right eye.
“Emily,” JD said walking towards the female. “You’re here!”
“Sorry I’m a bit early JD,” Emily quietly said as she looked at the ground. “I wanted to meet the friends that you’re always talking about.”
“It’s okay,” JD said as he walked right up to Emily and kissed her.
As he pulled his lips away from hers, Emily’s face turned beat red, embarrassed that he kissed her in front of the others.
“Smooth dude,” Nick commented sliding his hands through the air as if it were butter.
“Hey Nick?” Aaron said grabbing his attention. “Introduce Emily to everybody. JD and I need to talk in private.”
“Sure,” Nick answered.
As Nick grabbed the redhead and began introducing everybody, Aaron took JD outside the lab.
“Okay man,” JD began, “What did you wanna talk ‘bout?”
“So we can have a break just because you have a date?” Aaron asked with hostility. “What are you more worried about; the five of us dying or you straddling that redhead?”
“You’re not the only one who needs a break.”
Aaron let his anger boil over and grab JD by the collar of his shirt and pulled him so that their faces were inches away from one another.
“WE COULD DIE TOMORROW!” Aaron yelled.
“I KNOW THAT!” JD yelled back even louder, but quickly regained his composure. “That’s why I want you to enjoy yourselves. I want you to remember what you’re fighting for.”
“And that would be?” Aaron asked having finally calmed down.
“Only you know can answer that,” JD answered, walking past Aaron and stopping as they were beside one another. “But remember this Aaron: I will not let any of you die.”
As JD walked back to Emily, Aaron went over his words in his head. What did he mean?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three Years Ago…
“All right I’ll do it!” JD declared as he faced his parents once again.
“That’s great,” David Sandoval said, “But don’t expect to be rewarded. This will not be easy for you. You’re a good fighter now, but when I’m done with you, you’ll be better than anyone you know.”
“What do you mean Dad?” JD asked looking at his mom in confusion.
“Over the next year, both Arik and I will be training you,” He replied. “I’ll handle I’ll the physical stuff and Arik will handle the mental.”
“I understand,” JD said clenching his fist.
“In this fight, you have to win. If you lose, it’s all over. Do you undertand?”
“Yeah, I will win.”
“But ask yourself, how far are you willing to go to win?”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JD walked through the city with Emily by his side. His relationship with her was complicated. It was apparent to him that Emily had serious feelings for him, but JD’s feelings for her were more of that of interest than of love. There was attraction there and JD truly enjoyed being with her, but he truly didn’t care if he was with her or not. Maybe it was because of all the Power Rangers stuff going on, but either way he was willing to find out.
In the distant corner of his mind, he felt a spike in power nearby. So it seems that Scimitar lied, but JD had anticipated this. Within a mile or two of JD, the rangers’ morphers beeped in response to Scimitar’s appearance, causing them to all run off in the direction of the signal.
“Let’s Ride!” Aaron said, activating his morpher and hopping on his T-Flyer.
Despite being in separate places, the other four morphed almost immediately after.
“He lied,” JD said aloud, “That son of a bitch lied.”
“Who lied JD?” Emily asked knowing absolutely nothing about what was going on.
“Emily,” JD answered coldly in reply, “Get somewhere safe. I’ll call you tomorrow, but for now you get to safety.”
“JD?”
“I don’t have time to explain. Just go!”
As Emily started to run away, a storm formed overhead similar to last time. JD looked to the dark, stormy skies above and noticed the five figures flying towards the eye of the storm. The rangers were already on there way.
“Let’s finish this guys!” Nick yelled to the others.
“That might be a problem dude!” Mitchell replied pointing out the enemy forces on the ground.
“Shit!” Amber cursed.
The rangers jumped off of their boards and looked at an army of 500 Hydrogons, with Scimitar at the center. By the time they drew their weapons, the first wave of Hydroes were already upon them. To the rangers, it seemed like for every one they cut down even more took their place. Taking advantage of the rangers’ preoccupation Scimitar walked through the ranks of his army and casually slashed the rangers, knocking them off their feet and leaving them open to more attacks by his foot soldiers. Wave after wave of Hydrogons came at the rangers, and after awhile the rangers could barely stand.
“C’mon guys we can do this!” Aaron yelled trying to maintain the morale.
His words were met by the gasping and labored breaths of his friends.
“Clear the way!” Scimitar commanded causing the crowd to part like the red sea. “Now I will destroy and take my time finding the database. I think I’ll start with the traitor and then the old man!”
The golden warrior lifted his huge blade, building up energy in order to deliver the final blow. The rangers closed their eyes and braced themselves for the following attack, unable to move due to the amount of Scimitar’s sheer power.
“NOW D-,” Scimitar began to say, but soon both he and the rangers began gasping for air.
An even greater power filled the air, bringing even Scimitar to his knees. The rangers could hear footsteps approaching from behind them. Suddenly, two silver boomerang-like blades flew out from where the footsteps were coming from. The blades flew out, shining with a silver light, and quickly ended the existence of the remaining Hydrogons.
“W-WHAT?!” Scimitar screamed in fear.
Scimitar’s words were met by the same silver blades, striking him in the back on their return flight. The source of the footsteps finally arose from the darkness and stood before Scimitar and the rangers. The figure was clad in a black suit, adorned by silver armor with crimson lining various parts of his armor. A triangular visor stared at Scimitar, with light shining off of the single horn-like protrusion on the top of his helmet. Scimitar finally managed to stand, but struggled to bring up his blade as he took his stance.
“I don’t care who you are!” Scimitar yelled. “I’m not weak like those grunts!”
The figure replied with calm and peaceful silence.
“YOU BASTARD!!!”
Scimitar rushed the figure and swung his blade downwards at him. The figure did not move from his spot as he caught the huge blade with his right hand and tossed him into the nearby building as if he were a toy. The body fell from the side of the building and landed on the ground.
“Who are you?” Scimitar asked, as he struggled to stand once again.
“I am the man who knows no limits!” The figure finally said. “I am the Devilfish Ranger!”

Haha, same goes my my fic, man. I think you've been watching too much Bleach though. Lol, though it emphasizes the difference in power by using the 'power pressure', an explanation should be given to why this happens. Still, it's pretty well done. Keep up the good work, man.

Actually the 'power pressure' thing was going to be explained in the next chapter, but you are right that I got it from Bleach. IMO Expressing a difference in power like that allows the reader to get a better idea of just how powerful an opponent is. Its more of to emphasize the the situation, but there is an explanation and it will all be revealed soon.
EDIT: Yeah you'll notice a lot of my ideas and themes stem from certain Anime, like Myves who is a mixture of several different Anime girls.

Chapter 12: The Man Who Knows No Limits
Aquain City’s nearby ocean continued to rage and crash against itself as the battle ensued in the city. Though the dark, ominous clouds and the lightning that came with them were finally beginning to disappear, the sea had not calmed at all. However, the sea was merely a testament to the events that were beginning to unfold in the heart of the city.
“The Devilfish Ranger?” Scimitar managed to grunt as he struggled to remain standing.
“Hey you!” the Devilfish Ranger shouted, cocking his head to the side and pointing at Scimitar. “You’re lookin’ pathetic dude. If I were you, I would try to look alert so at least it looks like you’re actually trying to fight back. I would hate for it to look like I just completely dominated this fight.”
Then, the Devilfish Ranger slowly began to walk towards fearful Scimitar.
“At least,” the power ranger said, “I don’t want it to look like that.”
A shiver shot up Scimitar’s spine. As his new enemy took his first step towards him, time seemed to stop. With the ranger’s second step, every muscle in Scimitar’s body tensed up and froze up on him. By the third step, Scimitar had finally realized what he was now facing. The once unstoppable destroyer was now face to face with his death.
“NO!!!” Scimitar let out in blood-curdling scream. “I WILL NOT DIE!!!”
Scimitar, fueled by his own fear, leapt from his position on the ground and into the air, where he combined all his energy into one final attack. Once again, time seemed to stop for Scimitar as his massive blade was about to strike his unsuspecting opponent. For a brief moment, his fear of death disappeared and was replaced by the illusion of victory and triumph. However, his self-induced delusions were broken in an instant when the Devilfish Ranger harmlessly caught his blade.
“Seems you still got some spirit left,” the Devilfish Ranger as he looked up at Scimitar. “I’m honored that you would waste the last of it on me.”
The Devilfish Ranger single-handedly crushed Scimitar’s massive golden blade into several golden shards as if it were a clod of dirt. Scimitar could only watch as the fragments of his once glorious, golden blade fell to the ground as if they were shiny drops of rain.
“Why?” Scimitar whined. “Why can’t I beat you? Why can’t I move?!”
“What are you talking about?” the Devilfish Ranger asked. “Do you mean this?”
The air became heavy once again, forcing Scimitar to his knees as if there was a tank on his shoulders.
“It’s simple dude,” the Devilfish Ranger continued. “The Terminus Rangers were meant to destroy the Armageddon Force. That’s why we exist. If we’re destined opponents, it’s only natural that we have some kind of effect on each other!”
“I see,” Scimitar finally moaned as he looked down. “Well if this is all you have, then you’ll never be able to defeat the others.”
“Try and scare me all you want man,” the Devilfish Ranger answered. “It’s not gonna’ work.”
Scimitar attempted once again to attack the silver-clad ranger, but the punch he threw was easily stopped by the Devilfish Ranger’s hand.
“Since you continue to fight, I’ll tell you something,” the Devilfish Ranger groaned as if annoyed. “In martial arts, only two things equal power. The first is strength!”
At first, Scimitar wondered what he meant. Almost immediately after the words left the ranger’s mouthless helmet, a strong and forceful right cross hit Scimitar square in the stomach. The punch hit like lightning and thunder, with the pain and force hitting him before he was shot back into the building behind him.
Scimitar, having nearly been made part of the building on impact, began to collapse. Suddenly, a loud boom sounded and a great force struck him in the chest, nailing him to the wall as if he had been hit by a giant bullet. In that split second, the Devilfish Ranger disappeared from his position some thirty yards in front of him and now had him pinned against the wall.
“And the second of those two,” the Devilfish Ranger continued, “Is speed.”
Scimitar began to spit up disgusting blue blood. The Devilfish Ranger took a step back as Scimitar helplessly dropped to the ground and into the pile of debris created by the impact. His armored body coughed and gasped as he tried to say something, which made the Devilfish Ranger kneel down by Scimitar’s twitching body in an attempt to make out what he was saying. Scimitar grabbed the collar of the Devilfish Ranger’s suit and struggled to bring his own face closer to his opponent’s.
“Y-you may h-have defeated me,” Scimitar weakly gasped, “But you don’t stand a ch-chance against our King.”
“I told you once already. I’m not scared,” the Devilfish Ranger replied. “I’m sorry, but this is your last ride.”
The Devilfish Ranger grabbed Scimitar by his armored forearm and hurled him high into the air as if he weighed only a few pounds. His body numb and his sight blurred, only the sound of the wind whooshing around him was all that reached Scimitar. Scimitar’s isolation from reality was ended when the Devilfish Ranger’s twin boomerang blades, crackling with silver and crimson energy, struck him in the chest. Blue blood frothed up from his recent wounds and from his mouth, but it wasn’t over for him yet. A silver and black board, lined with crimson in various places, materialized below the feet of the Devilfish and shot him up into the air.
“Strength and speed combined!” the Devilfish Ranger declared as his board sparked and crackled with energy. “This is the ultimate blow! This is the power of no limits!!!”
The Devilfish Ranger’s board slammed straight through Scimitar like a sharp knife running through butter. An explosion of silver and crimson lights shook both the sky and the ground as the battle ended. The other five Terminus Rangers looked on in awe at their new comrade, who landed less than ten feet away with his back facing them. The silver ranger remained as silent as his blades and board broke into shards of black, silver, and crimson and were absorbed into his belt buckle, which was the same shape as his visor. Soon afterwards, he raised his right hand up into the air as his armor began glow with a silver and almost triumphant light.
“Power down,” the Devilfish Ranger calmly said.
The light flashed one final time as his entire suit, from head to toe, splintered off into several hundred shards and began forming around his right hand. After only a few seconds, all of the shards had formed into the belt buckle from his suit, which he grasped in his right hand. After all of the armor had formed into his belt buckle, the other rangers were able to make out a figure who wore blue jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a silver t-shirt over it with thick brown hair.
“Sorry it took me so long guys,” the figure sighed as he began to turn around, “But do you know just how hard it was to get rid of that redhead?”
“JD?” Aaron and Nick groaned in unison, while the others remained silent.
“But when did you-?” Nick began to ask.
“I’ll explain later,” JD quickly replied, “But for now let’s get back to the lab and take care of your wounds.”
“But how will you get all of us by yourself?” Mitchell groaned.
“Well my friend,” JD started, “It’s about time you saw the full potential of the Morphing Grid Materialization System!”
“The Morphing Grid Material-what?!” Amber confusedly asked.
Suddenly all six of them were bathed with their own respectively colored light and shot off into the sky and flew towards the pier, where Dr. Floyd’s lab resided.

Aquitian Ruins…
“DAMN IT!!!” Phantom violently yelled, slamming his fists into the arms of his throne. “THIS CANNOT CONTINUE!!!”
Thoughts of his seemingly continual failures filled Phantom’s mind as he continued to scream out in rage. The ghostly white portion of the helmet that covered his face only masked the expression of true rage, true depression, and true fear. Failure after failure had forced supposedly repressed memories to the forefront of his mind, causing the black armored warrior to be overcome by fear. Flashes of a young archaeologist stumbling into a dark and silent room filled Phantom’s mind. Memories of a life he had long thought gone now resurfaced and brought with them a fear he believed to be worse than death. The fear of losing the power that had recued him from the abyss that was powerlessness.
“No that can’t happen! He promised me it wouldn’t!” Phantom stood up from his throne and began frantically pacing back and forth. “I can’t let that happen! I can’t, not after all I’ve done for him!”
<Do you doubt your power? Do you doubt the gift I gave you?>
“I-I don’t know.”
<There’s nothing to fear my faithful servant. Had I thought you would fail, I would have never given you power in the first place. I am infallible and my decisions are always right! If it’s power you need, then it is power you shall receive.>
“Yes, my King.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lab…
The electronic beeping of various machines filled Dr. Floyd’s lab to the point where anything else sounded strange. Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, Eve, and Amber all peacefully rested on several beds that Dr. Floyd and Myves had rolled out shortly after they had arrived. Myves, somewhat distraught and very worried about Aaron, diligently checked all of the machines as Dr. Floyd, who was looking very hurried, continued work on something.
“So can you tell what kind of injuries Aaron has yet?” Myves asked, completely ignoring the other four.
“Well Aaron has a couple broken ribs and a fractured left arm,” Dr. Floyd quickly replied as if annoyed by her question. “As for the others, amongst the four of them there are eleven fractures, fourteen sprains, and many bruises.”
“Will he be okay?” Myves stared at Aaron’s face before continuing. “How long before he’s okay?”
“He’ll be okay,” Dr. Floyd took off his thin black-rimmed glasses and glanced at Myves. “Look it’s very important to both JD and I that I finish copying this database to our hard drives. Maybe it’s best that you just stay silent for now. Aaron needs his rest.”
“Fine!” Myves scoffed as she took a seat next to Aaron’s bed and began to rub his head.
Outside the lab, the winds were clashing just as much as the waves of the nearby sea. Far off in the distance, the faint sounds of footsteps could be heard growing louder and louder, slowly growing from a light tapping sound to an almost thunderous roar. A sea of black figures wearing blue and black masks grew closer and closer. At the front of this seemingly endless sea of enemies, a black-armored figure wielding a huge black lance could be seen leading them.
“It’s time we took back what’s belongs to us!” Phantom declared slamming the bottom of his lance on the ground as they continued marching. “TO VICTORY!!!”
The army of Hydrogons let out yells of excitement and eagerness in response to Phantom’s words of determination.
“Will you guys keep it down?” a voice groaned from nearby. “Not sure if you know, but my friends are trying to get some rest.”
The army stopped dead in its tracks as Phantom searched for the owner of the voice that had just spoken. After only a few moments, he had found it. He could see a young man lying on top of the corrugated steel roof of Dr. Floyd’s lab, who seemed to have been waiting for them.
“And just who are you?” Phantom pointed his lance at the young man.
“Damn I forgot that we’ve never formally met,” the young man snapped his fingers as he stood up. “Not that it matters now, but I’m JD, creator and mentor of the Terminus Rangers.”
“YOU!!!” Phantom shook his lance. “You’re the one who killed Scimitar!”
“That’s right,” JD said as he paced back and forth atop of the roof he was on, “But like I said, none of this matters now!”
“You’re right it doesn’t! I want that database and you’re in my way! I know what I need to do!”
“And you have an army of Hydrogons intent on busting up my friends in order to get that database, so I know what I need to do as well.”
“Then why are we still talking?”
The wind blew once more and then became still.
“Well let’s get going then!” JD brought up a crimson and black morpher up to his chest. “Doc, you know what to do.”
“ATTACK!!!” Phantom ordered.
JD ran towards the edge of the roof and leapt off of it.
“LET’S RIDE!!!” JD yelled with his fist out in front of him as if he were going to use his morpher like brass knuckles and punch Phantom.
The crimson and black morpher exploded into shards of silver, black, and crimson. The black shards formed up on JD’s body, creating a black suit that fit as if it were a second skin. Silver shards became silver armor that clamped down around his forearms, shins, shoulders, and chest. The crimson shards lined the armor and formed his belt. The remaining shards formed a silver helmet with a black triangular visor with crimson lining and a single horn extending from the top of it towards the back. The morpher formed once again, becoming the suit’s belt buckle as the helmet clamped down on JD’s head.
Just as JD had finished morphing, he landed the punch that he had prepared as he flew through the air. Phantom blocked the punch with the blade of his black lance, but despite his best effort, he was still pushed back several feet. JD then opened his fist and pulled Phantom closer to him by the blade of his lance, where he then kneed him several times in the chest. Phantom knocked JD away and jumped back behind several rows of Hyrogons, who quickly launched an attack against the Devilfish Ranger. Acting on instinct, JD drew his Terminus Blades and began slashing away at Phantom’s foot soldiers.
“Go and get the database while he’s busy!” Phantom ordered as he leaped back into the fray.
Three Hydrogons clumsily swung their blades down at JD, who easily blocked with his right gauntlet. He slashed another across the chest as he spun around to take out the group of foot soldiers that had separated from their comrades. Just as JD had guessed, all of these enemies and Phantom were only there to retrieve the database. JD took a deep breath as he took aim at the small squad of enemies. Finally, he exhaled and hurled both blades, which arced up into the air as the crossed each other’s paths for a brief moment.
Even though JD tried to keep watch over his blades flying through the air, several more Hydrogons attacked him from various directions. As his blades spun through the air, JD crushed his elbow into the face of another enemy and kicked another that stood behind him. The boomerang-like blades swiftly spun through the air, approaching the group of Hydrogons from both sides. The one JD had guessed to be the leader of the group, due to his more distinctive markings on his mask, saw one of the blades approaching from the front and began grunting at the others in hopes of alerting him. The other members of the group, now panicked and confused, began running in the opposite direction and quickly noticed that another blade was on that side too. Just as the blades hit their targets, the leader rolled away from both of them and into the lab, where the humans were up to something.
“Faster Myves!” One of the humans ordered. “There can be no screwups!!!”
“Okay, okay!” The female responded. “Don’t worry baby, it’ll all be better soon.”
Taking advantage of the situation, the Hydrogon began to search for the database. He snuck behind the desks and finally, he saw it. A single disc sat on the desk and had the word “DATABASE” scribbled on it in sharpie. The frantic Hydrogon immediately seized it and snuck out of the lab, where he made a mad dash back to where the very annoyed Phantom stood. He broke out of his run and quickly dropped down to a kneeling position and proudly presented the disc to Phantom, who quickly seized it from his hands.
“With this,” Phantom’s voice slowly grew louder, “Our victory is assured!!!”
Phantom, now feeling determined and reassured in his fight, then began walking away, but stopped after only a few steps.
“You think you’re powerful Devilfish Ranger?” Phantom growled. “I’ll show you true power!!!”
JD noticed how the Hydrogons seemed to fall back and immediately he began scanning the crowd for Phantom. When he finally found him and saw him charging up energy, he realized what the black armored warrior was about to do. He was going to blow up the lab! In that instant, despite his speed everything slowed and all he saw was the blinding light of the explosions coming from the lab. JD immediately dropped to his knees in disappointment, his head sinking down into his chest.
“I-it can’t be…,” JD shook his head, “Actually…IT CAN BE!!!”
Phantom looked at the Devilfish Ranger as if he were crazy, wondering what kind of person would act like this at the loss of his comrades. Then, the winds began to clash against itself, the sea violently raged, and the earth shook as if they had angered God himself. Suddenly, two identical, golden beams shot forth from the water behind JD and destroyed all of the remaining Hydrogons that were gathered behind Phantom.
“I knew you would come, Phantom,” JD turned around and faced the ocean. “I knew what you would try to get and how far you would go to get it. Unfortunately, you’re very predictable Phantom. From your moves in a fight to your actions in a war, you’re way too predictable.”
“HOW’S THIS FOR PREDICTABLE?!” Phantom yelled as he slashed his lance.
Phantom swung his lance as if it weighed a ton and let loose a violent wave of purple energy at the Devilfish Ranger’s back. For a split second, it appeared as if Phantom was going to finish off his opponent. In an instant, JD had spun around and caught the wave of energy in his hands, crushing it in his fists and grabbing his blade.
“That was also predictable,” JD pushed the blade down and looked Phantom in his armored face. “You didn’t steal the database; I made a copy for you. I exist to end the Armageddon Force’s existence!”
“Then why would you give us the database?” Phantom asked.
“I can’t destroy the entire AF if the rest of it is still sealed away,” JD declared, “We only kept it for so long because I needed to buy time. In fact, the other rangers’ suits were still incomplete and considered prototypes! Let me show you our true power!!!”
The water behind JD bubbled and raged. The dark shadow of something beneath the water slowly grew bigger as it moved closer to the surface. Thoughts of failure flooded Phantom’s mind once again and fear plagued his heart. Phantom had played right into their hands and he knew why. He was weak and that very weakness had been twisted into the Power Ranger’s strength. Finally, JD leaped backwards and landed on a large green and silver platform that was slowly rising from the sea.
A giant green, mechanical tortoise arose from the ocean. Its back had two giant beam cannons and various other weapons. Then from five other spots on its massive steel shell, five other rangers rose up and stood even with JD. However, this time, the rangers wore suits that lacked its previous abundance of armor, better represented their respective colors, and were lined with its usual black and silver.
“Flying through the sea!” Aaron pierced the air with his hand as if it were a spear and struck a dynamic pose. “Red Terminus Ranger!”
“Piercing through the sea!” Nick declared as he chopped the air and took up his own pose. “Blue Terminus Ranger!”
“Speeding through the sea!” Mitchell shuffled his legs and took his pose. “Green Terminus Ranger!”
“Dancing through the sea!” Eve spun around and posed. “Cyan Terminus Ranger!”
“Cutting through the sea!” Amber threw two punches and struck a pose. “Pink Terminus Ranger!”
“The man who knows no limits!” JD took a fighting stance and then struck his pose. “Devilfish Ranger!”
All six of the rangers stepped forward and fixated their eyes on the very fearful Phantom.
“WE ARE THE ONES TO END EVIL!” All six Power Rangers declared in unison. “POWER RANGERS TERMINUS!!!”Six colored columns of smoke shot forth from behind the rangers, followed by a single explosion that originated from the same spot. To anyone that saw it, it appeared as if the city’s saviors had arrived, but for Phantom, it represented his defeat, his weakness, and all of his fears. Despite the fact that Phantom’s face was hidden by his suit of armor, anyone who was there could tell that it was filled was pure terror.
“Take the database,” JD told Phantom as if he were commanding him, “Use it to bring forth the full power of the Armageddon Force and when you do, we’ll stop it.”
JD stepped forward before he continued.
“We are here to finish the fight!”

Droplets of cool rain began to fall on the ashes and debris of what was once Dr. Floyd’s lab. Six figures flashed with golden light and revealed the six teenagers who once called the pile of smoking wreckage a home, if even for a short time. The teens had worked there, played there, ate there, slept there, and lived there since the end of June.
“So many years I lived here,” Dr. Floyd said with sorrow filling each sound and syllable of his normally rough and husky voice.
“I can’t begin to understand how much this place meant to you,” JD began as he placed a hand on the doctor’s shoulder. “But what I do understand, is what we have to do next.”
“Oh I know what we’re going to do next,” Dr. Floyd answered, his voice growing louder and more determined with each word. “We are going to kick their ass.”
“I believe we already did,” Mitchell laughed.
“Yeah thanks for holding them off JD,” Aaron said graciously. “JD?”
A small crashing sound immediately caught and focused the group’s attention on JD’s unconscious body, which lay in a pile of burnt wood and ash.

Aquitian Ruins…
Phantom’s dark, armored figure clumsily lumbered through the hallway that lead to the structure’s main chamber, where he had concocted the majority of his failed plans. His black armor continued to steam and hiss as he pulled himself into the makeshift throne that the Hydrogons had assembled from extraneous parts of the one-time prison. Despite his humiliating defeat at the hands of the rangers, he could take comfort in a single thought: The database was his. The same database that not only held information on all of the members of the Armageddon Force, but also the same database that was key to releasing the King, was now in his possession. However, this comforting thought quickly reminded him of the act of pity through which the database had practically been handed to him and by the same hands that defeated him no less.
“Those worthless piles of shi-,” Phantom began, but he was quickly interrupted by a voice that seemed to penetrate his mind.
<PHANTOM!!!>
“My King!”
<What sort of level has my newest emissary descended to?!>
“I apologize. I had no idea you were listening.”
<The power you possess does not belong to you. It may have once belonged to a warrior far greater than yourself, but at the present moment it belongs to me and I am always watching what belongs to me.>
“I am sorry my King.”
<I not only witnessed your defeat, but I witnessed the act of ignorance and arrogance displayed by our so-called ‘destined opponents’.>
“They had planned on us coming! They had been waiting for us to strike them when we thought they were at their weakest!”
<SILENCE!!!>
“My apologies.”
<The Database is ours now and with it, my freedom is secured. These ‘Power Rangers’ want to finish this fight? Then we shall indeed finish it and at the same time, make them regret the day they released King Peleus!>

Several machines beeped and hummed as JD slowly began to come to. At first his vision was blurred, but within a few seconds his entire world came back into focus. The near-silent sound of water gently flowing against the walls told him exactly where he was.
“So, how do you like the Tortuga?” Dr. Floyd asked as he entered the room.
“It’s nice,” JD answered as he quickly glanced around, “Well at least the Medical Bay is. Oh and I’m fine by the way.”
“I figured you would be,” Dr. Floyd said confidently. “So, do you have any ideas as to what happened?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that ‘Doctor’?”
“Well I see you haven’t lost your sense of humor.”
“Never had much of one to start, so there ain’t much to lose. How long was I out?”
“By my count, roughly fifty-four hours, so I’ll ask again: Any idea what happened?”
JD looked down at his lap for a second and then looked back at the doctor.
“If I had to say,” JD continued, “I’d venture that I used too much of the Devilfish’s power in too short of a period of time. Morphing once was easy, defeating the Destroyer was easy, but morphing a second time was a bit tougher. Not to mention, I had to use enough power to fight that ‘Phantom’ guy on equal terms and hold him off long enough for you to get the Tortuga operational.”
“Are you saying you can’t handle it?” Dr. Floyd asked curiously.
“No, I can handle it, but I have to be mindful of how much power I use and how long I use it.”
“I guess you have you do have your limits Mr. ‘Man Who Knows No Limits.’”
“Funny. Anyways, the highest I took my power was seventy-five percent of full power during my fight with Phantom. If I had to say, I’d probably pass out at eighty-five percent power, which means if I have to go pass that, I’ll need something to keep me awake.”
“What do we need to do or make?”
“A stimulant.”
“A stimulant?”
“Yes. If we make a powerful stimulant tailored to best affect my biology and set up the suit so that it injects the appropriate dosage into my body at about eighty percent power, then I should be fine as long as I stay morphed.”
“But won’t a stimulant like that be damaging to your body?”
“More than likely, yes, which is why we have to tailor it to my body for the best effects with the least side-effects. Honestly, I’m more worried about what’ll start happening to my body while the stimulant’s keeping me up, especially if I exceed eighty-five percent or ninety or even higher.”
“One-hundred percent power; what’ll happen then?”
“It’s hard to say. More than likely, I would die, so let’s pray we don’t find out.”
“Well let’s get working. Besides, I have to fix something on the Tortuga.”
“What’s wrong with it?”
“It’s green. I wanted it to be bronze.”
“Ah well, I guess we should get working. Where are the others?”
“They’re asleep. Between their injuries from fighting Scimitar and morphing using their new suits, they are in need of rest.”
“Well let them rest. If I called it right, Phantom’s not going to make a move until after his King is released, especially after losing the way he did. If any adjustments need to be made, now’s the time.”
“So let’s get working kid!”

Aquitian Ruins (Several Years Ago)...
A man in his thirties gently searched a large organic-looking metal wall for any type of button or switch that could possibly open a door. The man was small and frail, with a few days of growth on his face and unkempt hair. Several scars covered his hands and arms; proof of his previous numerous and various accidents during digs. His name was Timothy Takeda and he was a man on a mission of life or death: make a major archaeological discovery or kill himself in dishonor and shame. His family had disowned him when he left for college, his wife and daughter left him after he spent all of their money on a dig, and then found nothing. As he remembered each of his failures and losses in his life, his despair seemed to fuel his every movement, making each reach more quick, but also more clumsy. To him, any artifact, any relic, anything at all that laid beyond this wall, was his ticket out of his despair, his failure, his fear.
“It has to be here!” Tim proclaimed as he felt his fingers latch onto something.
He pulled the latch with all of his might and was rewarded with the sweet sound of gears moving and air hissing. Tim couldn’t help but burst into tears as he saw the massive wall crack in half and slide open. To him, the door he had just opened was as magnificent as the Gates of Heaven, for no matter what there was on the other side, it was salvation to him.
Aquitian Ruins (Present Day)...
“My moment has come!” Phantom proclaimed before pointing at a group of Hydrogons. “Open this door!”
As the Hydrogons, began searching for a latch, Phantom began to reflect on everything that he had learned in the recent years of his life. He recalled how the Hydrogons were nothing but masks in which criminals had been sealed into that were given bodies. How seemingly limitless numbers of masks, who were once living beings, sat in the various chambers of the prisons. He also recalled the several prisoners, such as the King, who were simply too powerful and were instead either sealed in a statue like state or kept in a specially designed Triforian Security Chamber, which was actually just an energy-sealing stasis pod. He remembered how the lance that gave him his power and armor, once belonged to another servant of the mysterious King to whom he had sworn his allegiance. However, he couldn’t help but wonder about the years of his life that he had lost as his body merged with the power of said lance. Finally, his attention snapped back as he saw the massive wall slide open.
“It’s time my King,” Phantom whispered.
The armored villain, with the database now reinstalled in the ruins’ systems, walked though the massive doorway and towards a small, but intimidating pod-like object. Phantom ran his metal fingers across the front of the pod, taking a step back when he saw the lights inside of it flash to life. Inside of the pod, an old, but very muscular man floated in stasis, with his massive silver beard floating up and obscuring most of his face. The old man’s muscles, despite being at ease in stasis, seemed rock hard and ripped, with the navy-blue tattoos and scars that adorned his body only adding to his already intimidating physical appearance. He wore tan rags appropriate for a prisoner, but they seemed to nothing aside from hiding his fearsome physique.
“King Peleus,” Phantom said despite being nearly breathless. “I am here to carry out my end of the deal.”
Aquitian Ruins (Sevaral Years Ago)…
Timothy slowly approached a dark, pod-like object. He was unsure of it, but for some reason, he felt drawn to it. With one arm outstretched, he stepped closer and closer to the pod, but stopped when he heard a voice fill his mind.
<Just who are you human?>
Timothy remained still and refused to answer, dismissing the question as his own imagination and paranoia getting the best of him.
<There is no need to fear me human>
“It’s Timothy,” Tim timidly answered, “Timothy Takeda. Who are you?”
<My name is Peleus, King Peleus.>
“You’re a King?”
<At one time I ruled more than just simple kingdoms; I ruled several planets and star systems. However, I have now been reduced to prisoner and I’ve lost everything, but you seem to be familiar with loss.>
“How did you know?”
<A man with your determined eyes is either dying or desperate. However, that does not matter. What does matter is that I can give you whatever it is you seek, in return for your assistance with obtaining what I seek.>
“Whatever I seek?”
<You release me from here and I will give you whatever it is you desire. However, something tells me that you already know what you want.>
“Yes, power; I want power. Give me the power to be free from failure and I will free you.”
<Very well.>
Aquitian Ruins (Present Day)…
“You promised me power,” Phantom said as the doors on the pod began to slide open. “So you told me the location of a powerful lance, which once belonged to your most faithful servant, Thylas. You had me merge myself with the power of the lance and changed me from Timothy Takeda, into Phantom.”
The doors of the pod opened and gallons of some strange colored liquid spilled out onto the floor. Peleus’ seemed to slump into himself as the liquid emptied out. After several moments, his massive body seemed to pulse to life as his eyes glowed with a dark purple glow.
“My King,” Phantom declared as he kneeled before him. “At last you are fre-“
Phantom’s words were cut short by a blast of dark energy shooting through his armored torso. The blast sent him hurtling back into the long, dark hallway behind him. Phantom tried to sit up, but the hit had left a gaping hole in both his armor and chest. He could feel his blood slowly flowing out of his chest, his body becoming cold, and, worst of all, he could feel the force of each one of the King’s steps as he approached.
“Why?” Phantom weakly said as his blood continued to froth out of his wound.
“It is simple,” Peleus began to answer with a voice that Phantom could hear in both his ears and mind, “You wanted power, I gave you power. I wanted my freedom, you gave me my freedom.”
“But there is so much more I can do!” Phantom desperately cried as King Peleus stretched out his arm and pointed his hand at his face.
“My need for you is gone,” King Peleus continued, “You upheld your side and I upheld mine. Our business with each other is over.”
The swirling of dark energy in the massive hand of Peleus was the last that Phantom, no Timothy Takeda, saw. In that single moment, both the pathetic life of a lonely archaeologist and powerful existence of a dark warrior were brought to an end. King watched as Phantom’s armor faded away and revealed the headless figure of Timothy Takeda, but importantly, he watched as the lance beside him returned to its original and less nefarious form. King Peleus picked up the lance, walked into the room where Phantom had made his makeshift throne, and sat down.
“That boy,” Peleus recalled one of the many things he saw while he controlled Takeda, “There is much that he knows about what happened so long ago, but he still doesn’t know the truth about this battle or why they fought us.”
The King arose from his new throne and strode into the chamber where the masks that were used to create Hydrogons were kept. With each step, Peleus could feel even more of his vast power returning, which continued until he reached a lone chamber past all of the masks. In this chamber, several hundred statues stood, neatly arranged in rows. Each one of these statues were the remaining warriors that had fought for him so long ago and at the front stood his remaining seven destroyers. However, in that room he was interested in only one thing, his strongest and most loyal servant, Thylas. Peleus charged the lance with dark energy and placed the lance back into the stone hands where it had rested for so many years until Takeda’s arrival.
The stone figure that was Thylas crackled and brimmed with a nefarious light as stone turned to skin and steel. After only a moment, a man seemingly in his twenties with long blonde, nearly white hair, wearing light-weight, black and white armor stood where the statue had been mere moments before. When he looked up and saw the king, he immediately laid down his lance and kneeled before him.
“King Peleus,” Thylas said, his eyes still looking towards the floor. “Where am I?”
“It doesn’t matter,” Peleus answered, “What matters is that you are needed.”
“Whatever it is shall be taken care of,” Thylas answered, “My King.”

The Tortuga sat at the bottom of the Aquain City Bay as the current flowed and several fish swam past it. In the past few days, since their enemy had seemingly disappeared, Dr. Floyd and JD had the chance to make all of the final adjustments to both their new base and carrier zord as well as fix, improve, and add some minor things to their ranger tech. One of these things, was Dr. Floyd’s wish for the Tortuga to be bronze and not green.
Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, Eve, and Amber stood on the opposite side of the Tortuga’s Battle Simulation Room as JD. The five teens kept their eyes trained on JD even as the room’s interior look changed into a big sandy beach.
“Are you sure you guys want to do this?” JD asked worriedly.
“Don’t tell me that the ‘Man Who Know No Limits’ is scared to fight,” Amber said mocking JD’s rolecall.
“I’m not scared at all,” JD retorted, “But what if the city gets attacked?”
“Phantom hasn’t shown in days and the Tortuga is equipped with the best monitoring station possible,” Nick answered. “Plus with the teleportation abilities in our new suits, we could be where the trouble is at in an instant.”
“Besides,” Aaron started, “I really want to see if the two times you saved our asses weren’t just flukes.”
“Please just remember to be careful everyone,” Eve added.
“Please don’t worry everyone,” Dr. Floyd said over the loud speakers, “It’s been several days since Phantom disappeared. This is probably the best time to not only test the capabilities of the upgraded suits, but also to test your own capabilities as a team as well as each others!”
“I DON’T CARE WHAT HAPPENS, JUST KICK ASS LOVE!!!” Myves shouted over the speakers.
“Hey give back that microphone!” Dr. Floyd shouted in the background.
“That girl,” Aaron said rubbing his brow.
“Alright then,” JD finally said after a few moments.
Aaron, Nick, Mitchell, Eve, and Amber all took out their T-Phones and took up their own individual stances. JD, in response, took out his own morpher, which had been affectionately dubbed the “T-Knuckle” by Dr. Floyd, and brought it up to his chest. They stood silent for several moments before they suddenly moved and called out,
“LET’S RIDE!!!”
The entire room flashed with golden light, revealing the Terminus Rangers where the six teens had stood. The simulated waves crashed down on the false shore as the rangers stared each other down. The five core rangers drew their respective weapons and took up combat stances, but JD just continued to stand still with his arms crossed. However, before they could even begin their attack, a streak of silver and black shot right through their line with a force that made them instinctively brace themselves for an attack, but instead they saw that JD was no longer where he was. Suddenly a short whistle alerted them to what was behind them: JD with his back to them standing completely still with his arms still crossed.
“So,” JD started finally uncrossing his arms as he turned around and bowed, “Shall we dance?”
Author's Note:
That's right, I'm back everybody. I know I haven't been great with releasing chapters when I said I would, but I will be trying my best from now on to give everyone there weekly recommended dosage of Terminus, which is actually recommended by one out of one doctors (Dr. Floyd). Anyways, I hope you enjoy this week's chapter and all comments are welcome.

Welcome back to the fold JD, it has been too long.
I'm sketchy on the details, but I figured most of the previously laid out plans. Great work with the description of King Phelus and the backstory to Phantom.
The last scene was reminiscent of JD and Kevin's sparring match.

Chapter 14: Oath of Loyalty
Aquitian Ruins…
The chambers of the one-time prison pulsated with a dark, purple glow as more and more bodies formed around the blue and black masks. Each pulse brought life to several Hydrogons. Whilst all this was happening, King Peleus and Thylas slowly walked through the hallways, observing their army come to life.
“These ‘Hydrogons’ as that fool called them are nowhere near as powerful as the footsoldiers we had before,” King Peleus stated, taking note of his servant’s confusion. “However, their numbers shall easily make up for their lack of skill.”
“I see,” Thylas acknowledged.
Thylas’ body was that of a warrior’s: a finely tuned weapon. His muscles testified to the years he had spent training and pushing his body to its limit. Even the armor he wore hinted at the seemingly young man’s skill. The armor he wore was light-weight and covered only a minimal portion of his body, and though it only provided minimal protection, it also provided maximum mobility.
“Are you prepared to fight once more?” King Peleus asked.
“I do not think I can my King,” Thylas answered as if obligated by regret. “I took too many lives the last time. I do not wish to fight anymore.”
“Have you forgotten what the Order has already taken from us?” The King retorted violently. “Our people, our families, our home – everything that meant anything to us was destroyed by the Order of Meledon! And now the descendant of the Eltarian who was behind it all wants to finish us off!”
“There is a descendant of the Dragon Ranger?!” Thylas said in shock, his normal peace of mind being corrupted by powerful thoughts of hate.
“You remember it well don’t you?” King Peleus asked in an attempt to exploit Thylas’ emotions.
“He appeared shortly after we tapped into the infinite power of the Morphing Grid,” Thylas began to recall. “The Eltarian Wizard, Zordon.”

The Tortuga…
“Shall we dance,” JD asked sarcastically as he took a bow.
“Let’s do it guys!” Aaron shouted.
Mitchell and Nick leaped forward, quickly launching a joint attack. Nick swung his trident, but JD ducked with astonishing speed. He then grabbed the weapon’s shaft and brought it down far enough to block Mitchell’s incoming chops. After the blocking the blows, he punched Nick away and threw an elbow into Mitchell’s sides, which sent the pair flying into Aaron.
Amber and Eve swiftly leapt over the three boys and began their own offensive. Amber was quick, strong, and each of her slashes, though wild at times, kept JD on edge. As JD countered each one of Amber’s attacks, Eve blocked every one of JD’s moves just as quickly as he could throw them, which surprised him even more.
Past the two dangerous dames in front of him, JD could spot Aaron dashing towards the fight. Preparing for his friend’s attack, he spun around and shot both of his elbows behind him and sent the girls flying away from him. Aaron held up his spear horizontally in front of him and used it to break the girls’ fall, but he never lost any momentum as he set them down and resumed his beeline towards JD. As the last moment Aaron leapt into the air and threw his spear at JD, which caused JD to leap backwards into the air to avoid it. The two seemed to hit the ground at the same time, which made JD laugh a bit under his helmet.
“Not bad,” JD complimented Aaron as the two circled his spear. “But are you sure you can take me on without your weapon? Hand-to-hand has never been your strongpoint.”
“Has it now?” Aaron scoffed. “It may stink, but it’s your opinion.”
“So,” JD took up a traditional Muay Thai fighting stance, “Come at me!”
Aaron rushed JD, immediately launching a barrage of punches, which JD let hit his chest so that he could bring Aaron into a clinch. Once catching him in a clinch, JD thrust his knees deep into Aaron’s chest before jumping back and kicking him away. Aaron swiftly picked up his spear and began thrusting it wildly at JD. The Devilfish Ranger read each move and dodged, before spinning around putting the tip of his right elbow pike several inches away from Aaron’s neck.
“That blow was too short,” Aaron laughed.
“Was it?” JD asked as the Terminus Blades materialized in his hands, which ended with the tip of his blade gently poking into Aaron’s neck.
“SIMULATION OVER,” A computerized voice announced as the rangers all exited their morphs.
As the room reverted to its original form, JD stood up and patted Aaron, who was still morphed, on the back, reassuring him that it was over. Aaron, though he had grown as a leader, still let his emotions control him and that could be a problem. The Red Ranger let out a sigh as his suit burst into red and gold lights. The rest of the rangers stood up and watched as JD helped Aaron to his feet.
“Let’s get a drink,” JD suddenly said. “My treat.”
*****
“So Myves changed sides because of love?” Thylas asked as if he were confused. “Who else have we lost?”
“The Scouts are dead,” King Peleus answered, “But to begin with they were merely the ‘summoning stones’ for Myves.”
“Yes,” Thylas recalled, “She used them to gauge the opponent’s strength and decide if it was worth fighting them. She truly was a lover and not a fighter in spite of her enormous strength.”
“Scimitar is dead,” King added. “There are only seven Destroyers left.”
“So what is our next move my King?”
In that single moment, Thylas both feared and desired the intimidating man’s answer. His unwillingness to take life resonated throughout his entire being and made him wish to give up, but his darker thoughts of revenge made him do otherwise.
“I think it’s time that you visited this Aquain City,” King Peleus answered with a wicked smile.
*****
“Long time, no see you guys,” Ernie said, “What have you been up to?”
“We’ve been working,” Nick answered, “And we just needed some R&R and we figured that here is the best place to get it.”
“Well I’m glad you chose here because there’s someone I want you to meet,” Ernie said. “Hey Adam, come meet my favorite customers.”
Immediately after Ernie called, an Asian man in his early thirties approached the table. Adam wore a long-sleeved, black shirt with the sleeves pulled up to his elbow. He walked with a posture that denoted a sort of self-discipline, but peacefulness as well. However to JD, there was something more to this man that seemed to make his Eltarian side and his Diablo powers, surge inside of him. When he finally reached the table, Ernie grabbed him and put his arm around his shoulders.
“This here,” Ernie started as he lightly laughed, “Is Adam Park, one of my oldest customers and all-time favorite people.”
“Nice to meet you guys,” Adam said as he shook everyone’s hands on at a time.
“Same here,” JD replied. “This here is Aaron, Eve, Nick, Amber, Mitchell, Myves, and I’m JD.”
Adam finally shook hands with JD, which caused the two to look strangely at one another with shared feeling of familiarity. For some reason that JD was unable to infer, when he pulled his hand away, he looked at the seven teens seated at the table with an almost nostalgic look on his face.
“Hey Ernie,” Adam said without averting his gaze, “Why don’t you let me get to know these guys a bit while you go get their smoothies.”
“Sure Adam,” Ernie said as he left.
“So Adam,” JD began, “Where do you know Ernie from?”
“Well we met back when I attended Angel Grove High,” Adam answered.
“Wait Angel Grove?” Amber asked in disbelief. “You mean the ‘Angel Grove’? Home of the original Power Rangers?”
“Yeah, that’s the one,” Adam answered with a small smile. “But I heard you guys have got your own team of rangers here too. You must be fans of them.”
“What makes you think that?” Nick asked in confusion.
“The color of your clothes,” Adam laughed as if it was a joke that only he got.
When the teens looked at each other, they noticed that they were each wearing clothes with colors that matched their respective ranger colors. This caused the rangers to reconsider what Adam said, before joining him in laughter.
“So what brings you to Aquain, Mr. Park?” Eve asked.
“In short,” Adam began, resuming his more respectful tone, “I’m here to visit Ernie and check out the beauty of Aquain City.”
“Well you picked a good time to visit,” Aaron answered, “The surf is great this time of year.”
“Well I’m not much of a surfer,” Adam told the group. “I run a dojo back in Angel Grove.”
“Well we might have to spar sometime,” JD offered.
“Sounds fun,” Adam replied. “I don’t mind giving a free demonstration.”
“Here are your smoothies guys,” Ernie said, setting the smoothies down on the table.
“Anyways,” Adam started, “I’ll be here with Ernie for about the next week, but I’ll for now I’ll leave you guys to your smooth-,”
A cacophony of screams and explosions echoed throughout the streets as the ground seemed to shake. In that moment JD nodded at the others signaling that it was time to go, but before they could, they noticed that something was going on between Adam and Ernie.
“Let me guess,” Ernie began, “You have to go?”
“How’d you know?” Adam asked with a puzzled look on his face.
“You haven’t changed a bit,” Ernie answered with a chuckle.
As Adam left, the group of teens looked at each other in confusion at what had just transpired.
“Uh what just happened?” Mitchell asked.
“Nevermind that,” Aaron said. “Let’s move!”
*****
“So this is Aquain City?” Thylas asked himself as several Hydrogons went forward and attacked civilians.
Thylas calmly walked through the mobs of Hydrogons. However, a high pitched scream immediately drew his attention to a few of his masked henchmen attacking a small girl. The King’s servant immediately rushed over and pulled the monsters away from the child.
“Leave the children alone!” Thylas commanded before throwing his small group of troops into the side of a nearby building.
“It’s okay little one,” Thylas comforted the girl, kneeling down at her side. “Now run to your mother where it’s safe. I’m sorry that this had to happen.”
“No need to apologize,” a voice said as he approached from behind. “You won’t get the chance to do a thing to these people.”
“Who’re you?” Thylas asked, gripping his lance tighter.
“A veteran ranger on vacation,” the man answered, bringing a small object up to his chest. “It’s Morphin’ Time!”
The man thrust the object in front of his chest and the coin at its center glowed with a bright light. A black and white suit formed around his body like a second skin. As his suit seemed to flash with power, the fierce power and spirit of the mastodon formed his helmet, completing his transformation.
“Mastodon,” the black-clad figure calmly said. “Black Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger!”
“A Power Ranger?” Thylas asked. “You’re not one of the ones from around here.”
“Like I said,” the Black Ranger answered, “I’m on vacation.”
The Black Ranger rushed into the mob of Hydrogons and began his onslaught of attacks. He seemed to flow through the mob, with each of his attacks quickly disabling the foot soldiers. Thylas watched from afar as this unknown power ranger eliminated his henchmen one by one. From what he had learned in the hours since his resurrection, the Terminus Rangers that Phantom had fought consisted of a red, blue, green, cyan, pink, and silver ranger, but no black. Also, he could see in the Black Ranger’s moves that he was skilled and disciplined, more so than the other rangers.
“You really aren’t with the Terminus Rangers, are you?” Thylas said as the Black Ranger curb-stomped the last Hydrogon in the mob.
“And you aren’t that bad are you?” The Black Ranger retorted. “I’ve fought a lot of bad guys in my day and there have only been one or two that had enough of a conscience to even consider apologizing.”
“You’re right,” Thylas admitted, pointing his lance at his opponent. “I’m not evil.”
Thylas leapt forward and began slashing at the black ranger, who dodged each attack before spinning around and leaping back several feet.
“So if you’re not evil,” The Black Ranger asked, “Why are you attacking me?”
“It’s because you’re a Power Ranger!” Thylas said, his anger boiling over. “And Power Rangers are people that I simply cannot forgive!”
“Power Axe!” The Black Ranger called as a black, silver, and yellow axe materialized in his right hand. “Come on.”
The Black Ranger parried the lance strike and knocked the blade away before slashing across Thylas’ armored chest. The King’s servant took the blow before landing several slashes across his opponent’s chest. The two seemed to mirror each other’s moves as their kicks, punches, and slashes only seemed to collide. Finally, the pair slashed dark purple energy at each other. The two knocked each other back before being interrupted by several energy blasts exploding around them.
“Sorry to end this party!” Aaron shouted, pointing his spear at the two as his fellow rangers took their stances around them. “Wait a minute, who’re these guys Devilfish?”
“That one looks like a ranger JD!” Amber commented.
“JD?” Adam thought to himself. “Seems Ernie hasn’t changed a bit.”
“I told you not to use my name, Pink,” JD answered, “But you’re right; he’s a Power Ranger just like us. However, we’ll sort this out later. Red, Blue, Green, Cyan, and Pink, eliminate the remaining Hydrogons in the city. I’ll stay behind and assist the other ranger.”
“Understood,” Said the rangers as they spread out and began attacking the leftover mobs around them.
“So,” The Black Ranger began as the Devilfish Ranger took a stance beside him, “Shall we?”
“I have no idea what you are doing here or why you’re here,” JD started to answer, “But we’ll get to that once his ass is grass.”
As the two rangers ran towards Thylas, their weapons drawn, the ancient warrior took a deep cleansing breath. Images of collapsing structures, dead bodies, and a black, grey, and red Power Ranger walking through the scene of the massacre as if he was searching for more targets, flashed through his mind. He recalled crawling to his father’s and brother’s sides through what seemed like a lake of their blood, because of that ranger. As he watched the two rangers run towards him, his mind kept flashing back to the destruction and chaos.
“You killed my friends,” Thylas started. “You killed my family. You destroyed everything that mattered to me! The only thing you left was my King and I will do anything to keep that!”
Thylas brought up his lance and his eyes began flaming with a dark purple fire.
“My King is all that matters. Whatever needs be done shall be done for him. My loyalty lies with my kind and he is all that is left. However, this fight has nothing to do with loyalty; this is just revenge!”

Nice to see this fic start to pick up the pace even more! :) Well, it seems Adam is back and more light is shed on the villain's background. The reference to Zordon was well done and I think I may read over a couple of times just so I'll know what Kevin should know.
All in all, this chapter was great! Keep them coming, I'll be waiting impatiently. :)

V[]etal []_ion;3189476']Nice one JD, glad this is back. Adam's back in the spotlight and i wonder just what really happened with Thylas all those years ago.
Well I haven't spent all of this time out of the game just sleeping and watching TV. There's some serious stuff coming up and Zordon's past is a huge part of this. I actually like the fact that I've fallen behind because the most important aspect of this story is the past and its affect on the present. JD, his family, and Thylas are just a handful of the results of Zordon's past actions.
Believe me, this gets good and I will not disappoint with this promise.
